I took his class as part of my disciplinary breadth req., but I like the material so much I've added a minor. He's a very good lecturer, funny, and very personable. He likes discussions and is surprisingly good at remembering student' names, as well as questions specific students have brought up in the past, which he'll address in later lectures

Took this prof for mmw 122 and all I experienced was positivity. His lectures were interesting (although not mandatory) and he definitely knows what he's talking about. Super helpful and caring if you need to contact him outside of class (during office hours). Readings are pretty important to the assignments so just stay on top of that!

I LOVE BABAK MY FAV UCSD PROFESSOR. He is seriously such a kind man and his lectures are very engaging and keep you interested. He's the absolute best and grades very easily. He understands that students are under a lot of stress and does his best to be there for them with multiple extra credits and extended deadlines.

Babak is one the outstanding Lecturer that UCSD has to offer to a student. He gives insightful and beautiful presentations that are jaw dropping. He is concise with what he wants from the students. If you attend lectures and do the assignments you will be successful in the class. We love you Babak if you are reading this :)

Films he presents with such adoration are actually inappropriate, (not as in the subject is taboo, or adult etc) but just because there are disturbing perspectives which this man tries to stretch and fit into something "fascinating" when it's absolutely not. Almost like he wants to show us pervy things HE likes that dont relate to the coursework!

He genuinely cares about his students and the subject. He prefaces in the beginning of class that the idea of religion will be stretched and also warns about inappropriate movies he may show. All in all a great class I recommend as an elective. He also brings coffee and cookies sometimes :)

AMAZING!!! Easy class but I felt like I genuinely LEARNED something because of Rahimi. I would seriously recommend. He had no exams, just purely based on 3 easy papers and participation. PLEASE take any of his classes.

Rahimi is a great professor! Super kind, funny, and easy going. The course is a lot of material(readings, homework, discussions, etc) but he makes it doable and enjoyable.

Great professor that is engaging, understanding, and overall hilarious! The course is graded based on completion, section attendance (not lecture), the final paper, and the final reflection. The course has a "grading contract" that requires you to indicate what grade you will achieve based on the expectations you set for yourself.

I really enjoyed this professor! The format of the class is a lil weird, but I think it's mostly the MMW structure that he has to follow. Try to stay up to date with readings/lectures for assignments. I did not use the actual textbook once, but we had a class reader with excerpts that was used every week. Pretty interesting lectures as well!
