Difficult teacher, but it's a 400 level class and should be expected. Helps students if they ask him, and is a very personable person. He expects what he should from students in a 400 level, last semester of college class. Learn a lot from him.

Tests are hard, don't reflect what was learned in class. Make sure to do the homework it helps pull your grade up. Very helpful during office hours if he sees you are actually making an effort even if you are not doing well.

This professor is a cruel joke. More than 80% of class flunks the exams and he blames everybody but himself. He is so arrogant. I would never take this professor under any circumstance.

Important. If you want to learn about finance and you are willing to put in the time required to do so, Baradwaj is one of the BEST professors I have ever had. However, if you are a slacker who is just trying to get by, then don't take Baradwaj. Regardless of what people say, Babu is excellent!
he is a good teacher. there are 500 points divided up between 4 tests and HW. his lectures are very clear and concise. come to class and do the work and you will be fine
Very Challenging.if you aren't a finance major, probably not the best prof but if you are, you'll learn what you need to knom.STUDY, READ, DO HW and you'll be fine. Mult choice are his hardest. 3 people got A's, mostly B's but its worth having him and having a good prof at tu for once.
Very challenging class. 4 tests and several hwk assignments worth 100 points. You MUST go to class bc he will know you and your name. Read the text, and study study study. Show him that you are trying your best and he will pass you.

He is the best Finance teacher at TU. He makes you work for your grade. DO NOT TAKE him if you arent a finance major. He loves to be a jerk and play God with students. If your late to class by 30 seconds, he wont accept your homework. He has a set of rules that are totally out of this world, and he loves the fact that the students dont like it. Need I say more?..SADIST!

Very good teacher, but very challenging! Expects you to study hard and work even harder! Started the class with a solid F on everything and ended with a B+ overall! Stick it out and you'll really know your stuff. Professor respects those who try! If you're a slacker, look for another class.
He is a nice guy and makes jokes, which aren't that funny. He thinks he is King and has a smart attitude. He knows what he is doing but i would never take him again.
Content of the class is very difficult but he is a good teacher, he's really helpful and he knows his stuff. approx. 3 graded hw problems a week and 3 tests...lots of studying required but do able

This class would be much easier if he graded differently. I got "C+"'s on my tests, but because he grades homeworks like quizzes, what I got on tests didn't matter. He expects everyone to devote all of their time to his class and if you don't, trust me, you'll probably fail. Don't take this guy!
well babu is one professor I won't forget. I admire his intelligence and the way he conducts class however, he is very challenging and the tests are only hard to pass because he makes them impossibly long. Only take him if you are a finance major.
He is a good professor. You will learn something in his class. If you do the homework, read the chapters, and do the normal amount of studying, there is no reason to get less than a B in this class. Alot of information to learn but Babu makes it easy to understand the material. I would definately take one of his classes again.
Really good professor. He expects a lot out of students but it pays off because you will learn a lot about finance from him. Not sure why other people put such nasty posts up. He's a nice guy and will always answer questions outside of class. A lot of kids are slackers and I can see why they wouldnt like him. Take him if youre a finance/econ major.
To anyone thinking of taking Babu's class: Dont let the slackers on this site deter you. Yes, his classes are HARD and you WILL WORK for your grade. He is very fair but expects a 110%. He respects hard workers and will do whatever he can to help you. DO THE HOMEWORK! There are 3 long tests but if you do the homework and study you should be fine!
Babu is an awesome professor. As long as you do the homework and try really hard you will pass. He let our class take extra quizzes to bring up our grades. Also, he is very funny. On the day of the final he said, "The theme of the day is Celebrate Good Times." I wasn't interested in finance at first, now I love it!
He may know his stuff but he's an absolutely unrealistic prof. Blatantly has no real work experience. Take Rugemer!

Babu is NOT the bomb!Teaches 3 diff ways of finance(book,board,slides)and if u dont use the 1 he likes on the tests,u will be screwed.Gave a 12 page-test to do in 1 hour.CRAZY!Collects HW and be on time or he will put u on blast!There has to be another way of finance & if so, not through babu!

Horrible teacher and expects too much from his students, he teaches this class like its your only class! More than half of the students dropped this class in the middle of the semester. I think some of the other posters exaggerated. His classes are hard, the exams are LONG, but the key is to actually study. Even though he gives u a 'formula sheet' every formula won't be on it. He's a good teacher, but take someone easier if possible.
Probably the hardest finance teacher here! Very tough, but fair. Gives a formula sheet on the exams, which is nice. 4 exams & weekly hw assignments. The exams are long but they are do-able if you study and know your stuff! Doesn't want anyone to fail, but some did end up dropping the class cuz he's pretty hard. Slackers- stay away from him.

This is probably the hardest class I've taken so far at Towson, but also the one I learned the most in. You need to actually study for the exams and homeworks or you will fail!! A lot of people blame him for failing, but there are no suprises if you read the book and study the notes. He is a great teacher and you will learn alot if you put in time.
Made it his job to make your life a living hell.Has no idea of what the word mercy is, example: his homework is due at 530 for the night class and a girl got there at 532 he didnt accept it so there goes her passing grade. He said that hes been called all the names in the book but after taking his clas you will invent new names for what he is

Absolutely the Worst. The negative ratings that are here are correct! He is rude and will belittle you in front of class. Grades every detail on homework for accurracy, not for attempting. Once he shuts the door, your HW is a zero. I tried hard in this class, did all HW and came to every class, and he still failed me. STAY AWAY FROM HIM!!!

The people who complain about Babu are the unintelligent ones. You will learn a lot in this class. He's extremely thorough. Buy the study exam, study his notes, quit crying, and you'll be just fine.
I'm not a moron, I'm an accounting major and have a high GPA and I still got D in this class. He makes you feel bad for asking questions and goes way too fast. I realize he expects a lot out of people, but maybe too much for an out of major requirement course.
I am a finance major and I have never learned so little in a class. Baradwaj simply cannot teach. Instead he just displays his arrogance and ignorance every class. This class was difficult. There is a ton of homework that is graded on accuracy and not effort. If you do not plan on doing homework DO NOT take his class. Plan on studying everyday for this class. Most weeks you will cover 1.5 to 2 chapters.Wait until office hours for questions. Don't take this class if you're looking to pass it easily.
He is a very tough teacher, but you will learn a lot from him. He knows what he is talking about. Have to study everyday for his class, and you have to read ALL the assigned chapter or you will be lost. Grades homework on accuracy. If you do the work and study HARD you'll be fine. Do not take this professor. He was a jerk the entire semester; said Towson was easier than other colleges and he wasn't teaching at the level he would like to. Wasn't helpful at all. Instructions are generally unclear. This includes homework and tests. Leaves comments on hw like "Follow Instructions!"... well, his instructions are ambiguous and can confuse you on tests.

I'm not going to lie; this class is hard as hell. The tests are so hard most Finance teachers probably couldn't get As or Bs. This being said, Dr Baradwaj is a good professor. He can be kind of a ****, but you will learn the material in this class. I wouldn't voluntarily take him again, but if I had to, it wouldn't be the worst thing ever.

FIN435: impossible class, speaks english well but doesnt teach well. useless with regards to questions. very dry humor, i feel that he goes out of his way to fail students. knowledgeable, yes. patient and a good teacher, no. no good finance teacher to take, but take him as last resort. prolly repeating class in the summer. ugh....
Lets just get to the point. Dr. Baradwaj does great research for TU. You will learn a lot, but he fails to create a learning environment where students can thrive in. Test averages were in the 60's. On his third test 17/25 students received a D or below. What does this tell you besides him intellectually challenging us? I think you know the answer.

Just an awful teacher. He cannot explain the material. Sometimes I wonder if he really understands it cuz he contradicts the textbook frequently. Avoid. He has a bad attitude and wants to fail you. Contrary to what a previous report says, he does not even have any good research (that is what another finance professor there told me).
He simply cannot teach, so why is he still teaching at TU? The last reviewer said he heard from another professor that he does not do any research. I also heard that is exactly why they won't let him teach graduate classes. So he demands perfection from his students but he is far below perfection or even mediocrity in his profession. Go figure.

i just did the hw's and went to class consistantly. I ZONED out in class and barely studied for the final. Did extra credit though. somehow got a C.
Horrible professor. Basically wants you to fail. If you disagree with him, he'll just get upset. If you argue a test question and prove him wrong he'll ignore you (and won't give credit for the correct answer). Hard not to space out during his lectures.
Im not sure how he is with the lower level finance classes but the people who complained about his 430 simply shouldnt be finance majors. He's a hard teacher and the material is even harder. This class is hard b/c it's a 400 level class, not because of the professor. Ask questions and he will help you. Read his handouts and ask to do examples in class if you need help understanding something. Study constantly, it's very easy to blank out on exams. I don't think he's a bad teacher, I learned more in this class than any FIN course.
Regardless of what anyone says, the class average for the tests were in the 60% range for our class. Solely based on that information, you should know something is fundamentally wrong. I did put in a lot of hours for this class (i.e. read each chapter far in advance). Likewise, I really did learn a lot about finance .. more than any other fin class

Babu is AMAZING. the class was extremely HARD but he made it manageable. If you want to learn the basics about finance take the class with him, he is THE BEST explaining everything and gave us a formula sheet for the exams. 100% recommended.
This man is a monster. He thrives on the notion that students have to pass his class in order to graduate. He calls himself the "gatekeeper" as if he holds all the power to your future and the sad part is he does. Don't oppose him or he will bend you over a chair when grading your work. Nothing he does is reminiscent of a good teacher or person.
I love Dr. Baradwaj. He is a tough teacher because he wants you to do well. Doesn't take attendance but goes over practice problems during class so I would try to make it to most classes. If you study from notesproblems in class and connect hw test won't be to bad. If you need extra help don't be afraid to ask!
He may come off as a bit harsh but he's not mean like most people say. He just expects you to work hard for your grade. Attendance isn't mandatory but you must be on time for his class . Connect hw can make or break your grade so ever point counts. I learned to focus on concept questions just as much as math based question for the exams.
He cares so much for his students, he even yelled at me once in his office because I was getting lazy with my work and he knew I could do so much better, and he was right. I've never met a professor that cared so much for his students, but you have to put the work in. I did every problem in the book and studied weeks for an exam. I got an A.
This was the worst teacher in my 4 years at Towson. Finance did not come easy to me so I really struggled with such a hard teacher. He has no mercy. I'll put it like this. If you're a really good student and finance comes easy to you and you're really smart and like a challenge you should be fine with this guy. Otherwise, run as fast as you can.
Dr. Baradwaj isn't a bad guy he just pushes students more than any other professor. This class has alot of assignments, alot of reading the book. Tests are tough but not impossible if you study. He's not great with feedback, and seems to enjoy watching students struggle.

I learn more from the actual book than him. Moves too fast in class. Completely unapproachable and looks upset. If you don't like Finance or aren't a Finance major, avoid taking him.
Rude, takes pleasure in embarrassing students, in one class I took the professor proceeded to gossip about one students shortcomings, later in the semester proceeded to badmouth a student whom he assumed had "cheated." But no one was penalized or punished. All around a bitter man and bad teacher AVOID THIS MAN LIKE THE PLAGUE.
Honestly it makes me sick to see that a professor comes on this site and writes his own reviews. Several reviews on here are from the professor himself, finance is a manageable class but with Baradwaj there is no chance. Any post with "cream puff" "slacker" or calling students lazy on this site are written by him. He has said so in class avoid 100%
Horrible. Avoid at all costs, if you can run do it. This professor will not teach you, nor will he help you, rather he will embarrass and demean you. Teachers directly from a powerpoint and gives you a handout to print and fill out. However he is stubborn, rude and does not care weather or not you pass. I think he liked watching us struggle
One of the hardest classes I've taken. But is definetly worth it, you'll learn a lot. However, Babu is very hard and you have to be up to date, if you miss a class or fall behind you will not pass

Babu is a really good guy. He sets out his expectations in the beginning of the semester. Two homework assignments per chapter and 2 exams with a cumulative final. Gives good feedback and can answer nearly any question you ask. He knows what he's teaching. Would encourage anyone to take him unless you are late to class, he will not accept it.
As long as you put the effort in, you're fine. He's willing to help and cares about his students. People who say he's mean or too harsh probably don't go to class or put any effort in. FIN 331 is hard no matter who you take, so don't think you could get an "easy teacher".

Good professor, but a poor department chair. Enjoys confusing students and asserting dominance. I would avoid all interactions with this professor.
Worst professor in the finance department and he is the department chair!! He was angry when everyone failed his first exam, but his test are extremely hard and his expectations are ridiculous. Good luck, cause he is the only one who teaches this class. Also if you're even a minute late to class you will be locked out.
Dr. Baradwaj is the type of professor that make students work for their grades. First exam, all but one passed his exam. He was irritated and told the whole class to study harder. Assignments were insane because they took hours. He taught from word documents. Very serious guy, hard to get him to smile, but mediocre at best.

Class wasn't insanely hard but you need to show up everyday. Sometimes jokes in class but can be rude/snarky at times in an unprofessional way (even though he lectures us to be professional at all times). Sometimes can be generous and get out of class early and go over concept if not understood/went too fast.
Rude and snarky. His lectures are hard to understand. Always talks about how difficult his classes are. If you miss one class you have to rely on your classmates to give you the notes because he wont. If the class is doing poorly overall he will give us a lecture about how unprepared we are and how we wont succeed in his class
He belittles anyone and every one that even looks at him. Goes insanely fast through the lectures, then gets upset when we ask him to go back. Dropped the class after the first exam because of how horrible he was at teaching and also doesn't curve anything. Literally, take anyone else if you can.
Is an above average student, I graduated with 3.5 however; this professor made it so difficult that I got C for the first time in my life! The course itself wasnt that hard though. He isnt easy to talk to or deal with and would give you hard time both intellectually and emotionally ;(. Bless you if you had to take a course with him.

Contrary to what some of these reviews may be saying, Dr. Baradwaj is not somebody who enjoys failing his students. I can tell he's got a good heart and cares, but you will be ripping your hair out sometimes going through this class with him. He will push you harder than any other professor, and you need to work hard from Day 1 or get left behind.
I passed the class the class wasn't hard itself got a A but He complicates everything when we're here to learn school is supposed to be fun not headaches. also he isn't organized. avoid this professor at all cost unless it's a free course.
