Mr Saha. I had him for Math 011. At first I did not really like him but towards the end we started getting comfy with him. Grades are fair.Always gives work. Some Homework. Not really that helpfull since he wants you to learn on your own. Teaches alot.If you dont get it he will go over it again and again.Make him relax and humor if you do to. hes o
he is good. i suggest you take im. he has an accent so if you dont prefer that then dont take but im american and i understood him. i passed his class.
I took an intensive math course during last summer and he was great. He explained everything over and over again, gave us some homework that we would go over in class. I passed the exam with 75. He tought us a lot in only 6 weeks. I recommend him.
he is very nice professor.
Great professor. Would recommend him to others. Really helped me with understanding the material. I would love to have him as a professor again for another math course.
Great Professor, you just basically need to listen and study the classwork. This guy is very kind person he understand students and always respect others.
He's ok, but it seemed to me that if we didn't understand the material he was teaching, he'd get upset by it.
This guys soul mission is to get you out of MAT12. He will do anything for that and teach you the tricks of passing the departmental test. I took his class, Understood his ways and pass the test with knowing each step and each question laid out for me like he had help me practice for it before hand. "Do not fall in love with MAT12 my friend" -SAHA.
No one could understand anything he says. He might as well give the class in Greek
I didnt learn anything, I basically taught myself with the textbook. He is hard to understand.
He is very helpful to his students.
He is a nice professor I have ever seen.
He makes no sense. No one could understand anything he says.
He is a nice professor. You need to come to class everyday. His test is based on the lecture. Don't miss classes.
He is great. Very knowledgeable in the subject. Funny at times. pretty cool
This man is god sent he helped me pass both algebra and statistics. Show him you care and ask alot of questions and work hard and your guaranteed to pass. Hes also the sweetest person you will ever meet and very down to earth and relatable
This class was terrible. The professor only taught things once and never really explained things well. He thought that we had to know things but the class was supposed to be an introduction to statistics. I am taking this class again with a different professor who explains things much better and helps students during class with their homework!
Graded by homework, tests and attendance. He bargains with the class and the first day makes the grading criteria with you. Gives study guides with for each test (exactly same) goes over question for question in class. 2nd test, kids failed he gave everyone 100s. Do your work, participate, study and show up and you will do good. He goes off topic.
He's definitely the teacher you need to pick. I'm horrible at math and he made it super easy and understanding. He teaches more than one way of doing things. He's absolutely and 100 percent their for his students to see them pass and will try to help you prepare for that cuny assessment but only if you're willing to try. Hurry up and get a seat.
This professor never helped me go over any homework and refused to go over exams in class and then would give the same questions on the next exams even though students did not understand him. Everyone in the class failed the first two exams and he got furious! he always spoke fast and never helped us practice for exams.
He never explained things very well and then would get upset at the entire class and scream at us. Don't take this professor! take any other and you will be fine. He should not be teaching college level courses.
His lectures were boring and I never really learned much. All he cared about was looking good for the department, which he does not because they were auditing him. Take a different professor if you want to learn and get a good grade!
Babul Saha never actually taught he would only talk and write on the board. Never really explained things clearly. He never ever gave us in class practice at all. All he would do is talk and write on the board continuously.
I did every single home work and never missed a single class. I always participated and still got a low grade. This professor will never help you go over anything. All he cares about is finishing the syllabus.
Really tough class. Always rushing and never went over any homeworks or exams. Would always tell us to go to tutoring mostly because he didn't want to teach.
Babul Saha never fully explained things because he was always rushing and refused to go over things including exams and homeworks. It would have helped so much if he did, but He would get upset if you asked him to. All he really wanted was to finish the syllabus and for all students to go to tutoring.
Really sad with the outcome of this class. I paid attention and did every single homework but the professor just wasn't helpful at all. He only liked to write on the board and yell but never ever did a practice with us. I never missed a class and still got a low grade. Avoid this class.
He's such a bad instructor! This class was by far the worse that I have taken at this school
He should not be teaching this level of math! He should be teaching remedial levels of math. He does not know how to teach! he just writes on the board and never thoroughly explains things. Not to mention that he never goes over home works or exams.
He is not helpful and does not explain things. He will rush through the lecture everyday and not worry about whethere studentds pass or fail
Professor babul may be a smart man when it comes to math but he's a terrible teacher, he's teaching style is horribe, honestly the accent doesn't help. DO NOT TAKE HIM UNLESS YOU WANT TO TEACH YOURSELF THROUGHOUT THE SEMESTER! He thinks that since he understands the work then everyone else should too.
He is a great professor I have ever had. His method is very clear to understand. I like the way he is teaching.
Great Professor. :)
He is a good professor. His tests are like review with different numbers, but you need to understand the concept. He is very helpful. He will make sure, you understand the concept.
Great.
He is a good professor. He respects the students
Very cool flexible let us buy the older book so saved a ton honestly wants to give everybody an A Definitely recommend this professor
He should not be teaching college because he does not understand how to teach students. Everyone failed the first exam and he was furious but he should know that it was his fault!
Did not learn anything from him. I learned by doing my own research. He does not like to explain things or practice with students.
This was the worst class I have ever taken in college. The lack of communication was unprofessional. He needs to be removed from teaching this class and consider going back to learn how to actually teach. WORST CLASS EVER!
I don't agree with the other students. You need to study in order to get a good grade for the class. The course itself is difficult but he made it easy. You have to ask question to him and he answers all the question in class.
Good Professor
He is not a good professor. His teaching methods are not effective at all. He is also very disrespectful towards students. It seems like he forgot what it was like to be a student. He should be teaching remedial level math and not statistics. Or maybe he should go teach elementary level math.
I agree with all of the negative comments on here. I know a girl who got an A- in his class and she is a Math major. Even she says that he is not a good professor and wishes that she had taken the class with someone else.
He showed you how to do the formulas but not how to apply them to which word problems. Let students answer on the board didnt even check if the questions were right. Got mad when we didnt understand what he was saying. Never went over the homework. Never showed us our grades. Do yourself a favor and dont take him.
He is a very good professor. I don't agree with those students who wrote bad comments on him. You need to go to class and don't aspect a better grade without or a little bit of study. He is very helpful to students. You need to know the question that you asking to him.
HE GIVES US REVIEW FOR EACH EXAM AND IN THE PREVIOUS CLASS HE GOES OVER THE ALL PROBLEMS FROM REVIEW.
He is a good professor.
The professor give us review for each test and goes over the review day before the test.
Great Professor. Always accessible after class.
Trash professor. You can tell he doesn't care. He talks a lot about "understanding why you do what you do" in terms of why we approach the math problems in their own way, yet he's trash at actually TEACHING and REVIEWING it to make sure we understand it. He's knowledgeable, but its wasted if he cant pass it on. Why are you a teacher?
He helped me to understand statistics. This is my second time taking this class. He is so helpful.
he's one of the best professor I ever met. He listen to you understand you. He's really nice. Highly recommended. always smiling. Don't get mad when you ask questions.
Professor Saha is truly a one of a kind teacher. If you show him that you care about the subject and are willing to put in the work, he will do everything in his power to help you succeed. He is a great teacher, and an even better person. He makes learning fun and his lectures always keep you interested. Hard work in his class will pay off.
I recommend everyone who wants to get knowledge to take his classes, he is super chill and adjusting due days to help students, he gives a second chance to students in quizzes and test, which is super helpful . all his test were fear and similar to the review sheet that he gives away before test. what else do you need for professor? work hard
Professor Saha is the best professor I have ever taken, no exaggeration !!!! If you just want a grade only its not for you. If you want TO really GET it , this is an inspiring and incredibly useful class while still super fun. With this professor yr life won't be the same again. I starting liking math a lot and made true frienships for life!
He was a great professor Ihave ever had. He was so helpful to me.
Cares about his students and is always willing to help if you have any questions. The class itself can be challenging but he makes it easier to understand.
he is a nice person
Mr. Saha is a great professor !! He explains everything down to the T. He made math understanding to me he takes his time reviewing homework and practice test. He cares a lot about his students and loves making jokes! If more professors were like him everyone would pass! Wouldnt mind taking another math class if he teaches it!
He is really a great professor for statistics that I have ever had. I failed this class before, but he made this course so easy to handle. I am so happy that I had him as a professor.
I took this course this past term, fall 2019, and struggled through it. But, if you keep at it and put in your strongest effort, a passing grade is likely. Mr. Saha understands that this is a hard subject and will provide you with assistance during his office hours-that is, if you are willing to visit him for it! He even entertains using puns!
Professor Saha is an excellent professor he woll take his time to ensure that you understand the topic that is being taught. Although, he talks a lot and sometimes gets carried away with irrelevant stuff. Attendance does matter because the workload is a lot so be ready to write down 5-6 pages of math notes. Highly recommend him as a professor !
Since this class was online and was not on Zoom some assignments did not make sense. The website he used was a little confusing and the videos provided with the homework sometimes did not help. Takes long to reply to emails.
He is a great professor I have ever had. During the pandemic, he kept the class smoothly going. I got the email response with in 24 hours. Over all, he made statistics easy to me. I love his lecture.
took him for a summer class he didn't have a set lesson plan. I don't know if its because I took him for the summer but he let us pick if we wanted homework and how many quizzes we wanted as a class . over all do the homework and quizzes you'll be fine.
I took him for mat 150. We used to have review before the tests including final exam and their solutions. The tests is similar to the review. I am happy with this professor.
I took online class in the Fall 2020. We did not have to buy the textbook. It was an OER class. The professor provides the textbook and online homework platform for free. The class was clear for the test dates and homeworks due. I recommend this professor.
He's very nice professor and very friendly, he is hilarious and makes the class lesss boring. He is not a tough grader and he tries his best to get a good grade or at least pass the class. He tries to make Math as much easier as possible and tries his best to exmplain anything you didnt undestand.
One of the best professors Ive ever had. He makes class enjoyable, cares about his students and wants you to pass. He always tries his best to help you and is very understanding, but of course you have to do your part, seek the help and study! The work load is normal. You get homework to practice, quizzes and the usual tests.
Professor Saha is awesome. Classes are short and good information. Lots of chances to make up work if you missed any. This was my second time taking the course and you can definitely succeed in his math classes as opposed to the other professors.
He is such a nice professor I have ever had. Mat 150 was my second time taking and I got A in this class. He uses free text book and online homework platform.
For the first time EVER, I'm actually learning and grasping math; something I didn't think I'd be able to achieve. Professor Saha is a golden, he really cares about his students and is always available after class where he hosts his office hours. Even if you can't attend, he will make time for you. I'll be taking him next semester for statistics.
Statistics are hard! Prof Saha is accessible outside of class with any questions you might have and he's very flexible with late assignments and do-overs. the online platform he uses is free and easy to navigate. i think his class would be better if it were in person and not essentially self taught.
The most caring and flexible professor at BMCC. He makes his lectures easy and understandable, the tests were exactly like the review. He gives extra credit and puts a lot of effort in his lectures and towards his student. He is very kind and caring. I would 100% take this professor again.
Had him for fall semester, he was the best Professor I had. He is very caring towards students, explains everything clearly and goes over things you don't understand. Always accessible, he just wants everybody to pass and learn, makes the class interesting and is very nice. Also, gives extra credit and he is hilarious. Definitely recommend!!
He listens to all questions in class so that you can completely understand the material. The tests are just like the homework. He gives a take-home review before every test and he goes over anything that you're confused about. overall very easy class to pass.
I took this course in the winter and it was very tough. Although we had only fifteen days to take this class he was very transparent and cared for his students, not only does he want you to pass but he also wants you to learn. I have a hard time learning math but he made it very clear for me to understand. I would for sure take him again.
Prof Babul Saha is a very good prof and if you have issues understanding math, please take his class he is great and will help you to understand if you trouble. take him for MAT150. I don't know how I pass but I thank him for helping me.
He is the best professor that I had ever had
Professor Saha was very helpful to me understanding the content in the course. I was very comfortable taking his class. He is very helpful to his students.
Extremely understanding - he let us make up everything from tests to missing homework nearing the end of the semester. He has a great sense of humor and if you pay attention and study well you will easily pass this class. I ended up getting a 101 on the final and I didn't attend most classes.
He has a habit of using alot of filler words, making his lectures hard to understand. Additionally, he will put material on the test that isn't covered in class, making it hard to navigate. He can be funny, and is pretty understanding about attendance. I found his lectures hard to understand.
You'll need to know what you're doing and learn outside of class because he'll not go through the topics thoroughly during class. He goes off topic during his classes, a tough grader, doesn't give any leniency. He does give after-hours with him if you need help. He doesn't follow through with everything. The homework was heavy, but it was online
Terrible experience! If possible, find another option. His quizzes were hard to understand, many typos. and was late to own office hours, pushed his deadlines many times, and didn't post grades. He didn't follow the syllabus grading system. Will ruin your GPA. Never answered responses directly.
He is the best professor I have ever had. Easy to communicate
Nice professor. Very friendly and outstanding personality. Grades professionally.
Professor Babul Saha is an amazing professor. From the first day of the class he tries to help his student in any way. He is very dedicated and hard working professor. I would recommend him thousand time. He is one of the best professor i have ever seen.
This professor has been the best professor so far in bmcc, he is the most helpful, caring, vulnerable man I know! He helps you 100% all the time, he rarely gives homework, he makes sure he goes in depth of what math is, also clear for note taking/exams, and gives u chances. I'd take him again for sure, you would find a professor so chill like him.
AVOID AT ALL COST TRUST ME
As far as his Teaching skills he takes his time to make sure you understand the material he's teaching, however he gives ALOT of homework (hundreds of tedious time consuming math problems) and his pacing of going through the syllabus is inconsistent(very slow-very quick). Would not recommend taking especially if your not very good at math.
Prof Saha was amazing. He is caring and very understanding but you have to be ready to work with him. He acknowledges when he is wrong and makes up for it. He teaches in depth so make sure to pay attention because you can get lost at some point.....every aspect of the lecture is important so if you look away for a bit, you might get lost...
In one word, He is the BEST!!
He seems nice but he doesn't know how to use the basics such as bright space, very disorganized, lost days a day of exam and did in other days, doesn't let you use calculator, and do 30 questions in one exam, he doesn't want to help you even he says it, all the class he just talks and talks. Skip this men
Nice person, talks too much and barely teaches. Be ready to learn on your own. He is available to help you but gets too familiar and talkative. He doesn't like the use of electronics in class. He is understanding with life situations and uses participation as extra credit. Ebook is mandatory and hws are heavy. He is too chill and disorganized 4 me.
Nice person but talks way too much and barely teaches, constantly sidetracking, so be ready to learn on your own. He dislikes any electronic in class. No calculators. Ebook is mandatory, HW is heavy. Tests are long 20 q+ and with subparts, allows full class time to finish it. Chill but very disorganized and forgetful, not structured enough for me.
Disorganized, will not cover material thoroughly and test on stuff he didn't cover.
Take this course with this Prof as a last resort.
