Interesting class. Very organized style. Minimal study will get you an B or an A. 1 paper that is 5 pages, along with a written transcript of an interview that the paper is based on. Extremely fair toward students. Intelligent and not bad to look at. Take this class for your Multicultural rquirement. You won't regret it.

Hands down the best teacher at UD. This woman wants everyone to do well by giving out a ton of extra credit. All due dates are tentative so that papers can fit into your schedule. This class is extremely interesting and she points out all the info that will be tested. The papers are fun to do and require little effort. I really enjoyed her!

This woman is the biggest sweetheart ever!! To be honest the material wasn't very interesting but she tried her best to make it more interesting. She's a super caring person who honestly wants you to do well. Textbook use is minimal but still try to browse through it if you can.

I've taken two classes with this professor and she is absolutely wonderful. Exams are reasonable and written assignments are easy and reflective. Also, she is EXTREMELY understanding and helpful. She's a sweet woman. she plays a lot of videos and makes the lecture very interactive. She lets you hand in essays late and is very accommodating. She'll tell you not to take notes, but then those things will be on the tests, which are very hard. It's a fun class, but the tests are very, very hard.

Extremely nice and helpful, however her tests are extremely subjective and almost impossible. Her powerpoints are useless and most of her information comes from what she says so you have to go to class (she takes random attendance). Makes lectures interesting and there are only 3 tests, no final, and 2 papers that you get 100 on if you do them.

Thought it would be an easy class. Did absolutely nothing. Material is easy enough that no one takes notes or studies for the test. Then the test questions (multiple choice) are so completely vague that 2 answers always seem completely plausible. 2 papers. you get 100 on the first and a 75 on the second. seemed like everyone did. ended up with a B

Took this class online while my roommate was in the actual class and it was completely different. Lectures are from 2002, so while the material was simple and straightforward, it was really out of date. A lot of the test would have been common knowledge of demographics, but it's demographics from ten years ago. Not hard, just frustrating.

This class wasn't what I was expecting it to be, I feel like you need some background of basic psychology and history to learn the material. I ended up auditing because one of the papers requires a interview of a foreign person, which I know none of. I don't know, maybe also cuz I'm a GEOG major senior slacking off. Definitely not my field.

The tests are not as easy as you'd think! Study the study guide as much as you want, the test will still be pretty subjective and tricky. In the end it is a kinda-easy A.

Quite possibly the sweetest professor at UD! Encourages participation in class and always always always takes students' opinions into consideration. She does an incredible job keeping lectures interesting, considering some of the material. Lectures are never difficult to follow. Always fairly simple and straightforward. Definitely recommend her!

TAKE HER CLASSES! I have taken Dr. Trask's classes for several semesters and she is one of the nicest professors you could ever have. She is truly invested in her students. Easiest class of my semester. She doesn't post notes online, so you have to go. But it's mainly alot of discussion. She has tons of world and traveling experience, so she gives really good examples. Topics are easy and relate able. Exams are 50 multiple choice, super easy. Two papers that are opinionate. Every thing is returned in a timely matter.

There are 2 exams, 2 papers, and a final. I averaged an 85 on exams and 95 on papers. Grades easy. She randomly gives out extra credit that boosts grade so try to go to class as much as possible. If you miss, gets someone else's notes. Didn't use the textbook all year! Her notes in class are what is on the test. Highly recommend!

Bahira is a very laid-back professor. Her lectures are open-forum. They are not on Sakai or UD capture, however. Only 3 exams and 2 papers. You can get extra credit as well, so be sure to attend class, otherwise you may miss the opportunity. While she does not take attendance, I never missed class for these reasons. MUST read book for exams.

I loved Professor Trask! Unlike some other professors, she really speaks directly at the class and gets you engaged. Her lectures are interesting and she doesn't give a lot of homework at all. She is passionate about her work and has traveled all over the world so she knows what shes talking about. Take her class even if you don't have to!

If you email her questions she will answer with whatever you need to know. She gets the class involved despite its size. I didnt really like this class but many people love it.

Bahira has spoken at the UN and has degrees from 2 ivy league schools. That tells you how cool she is. Her real life experiences enhance the class so much. This is truly what she's passionate about and loves sharing that with her students. Giant lecture class, but she makes it feel small and loves participation. Amazing professor and chill class.

Take this class!!!! It was very easy as long as you show up. There are 3 tests (one counts as final) and 2 essays and she gives out extra credit. I got an A in this class and honestly I did not have to devote that much time. Lectures are important because there are no notes online but her lectures are so entertaining and she often lets out early.

Dr. Trask was a great teacher. I took her HDFS202 class as an elective and it was very interesting. Don't underestimate her tests since it's a Families class. Overall, it was a great class and you learn a lot.

Easy contents that are mostly common sense. She tells us what to write down, but sometimes, what she tells us not to write down are on test. There are three exams and two papers. Papers are easily graded, and exams are mostly easy, but some questions are tricky. Gives extra credit of 3% only if you attend certain classes that she designate.

The lectures are big (300+) but the material is very interesting, and you can tell that she is passionate about what she's teaching. She gives you everything you need to know for the exams, and most of it is common sense anyway. Three exams, two papers, no attendance and she occasionally gives extra credit. I would definitely recommend her!

HDFS202 is a class that I would definitely take as an elective if it meets your requirements. You don't need to go to class at all, but if you do the class is interesting and easy and you don't need to participate or really pay attention. I never once opened my textbook. If you put minimal effort into paying attention in class you will do well.

If your looking for a light elective this is the right class! Bahira is really inspirational and her class is extremely, if not the most interesting class I've taken at UD. What tops it off is her tests aren't too bad and she tells you what you need to write down. The rest is common sense. Also the papers aren't bad at all! MUST TAKE CLASS!

I love Dr. Trask! This is the second class I have taken with her. My only complaint about this class is that she instructED us to purchase a textbook that was an "absolute must have." It was 90 dollars and you could not find it any where else besides this website because it was her textbook. Never used it, so it was a waste!

I loved her and her class. She is so sweet and caring and is a smart teacher in what she conveys to the students. It is a large and easy class, so I usually just did other work during the lectures. Her exams are typically easy, but the TA graded the papers incredibly easy which boosted my grade (I got a 95% and 97% on the two papers).

If you dont take this Professor before you graduate youre making a huge mistake. Shes fantastic! I took this over Winter 2019. Grade is based off of two papers, two short responses & a final exam. Class comes off as an easy A but you truly do learn a lot & youll be taking a class with a real UD gem.

Dr. Trask was one of my favorite professors! She is so sweet and wants her students to succeed. Attendance was not mandatory but she rewarded those who attended regularly with 4 extra credits each worth 5% of an exam/paper grade. I found the honors section to actually have less work than the regular section. One extra research paper but no final.

I took this course two years ago. Dr. Trask was a very knowledgeable instructor with lots to offer. Expect long lectures in big lecture halls. Exams are manageable as long as you show up to class and take good notes.

I love Dr. Trask and Families and Diversity! She does an excellent job with this course and is truly passionate about what she teaches! She is one of the best professors I've had so far and I would love to take another one of her classes! Definitely recommended!

TAKE THIS CLASS! I did not read an ounce of the textbook, nor did I even read the online modules she put together and was able to get 100% on all of the forum responses because they are so general and based off your opinion! She is the easiest grader of all time with her papers and the 2 exams were very straightforward. Easiest breadth course.

Not a lot of work. Go to lectures - extra credit offered randomly that really boosts your grade. Lectures were a bit all over the place. Papers are easy to do well on. I found the exams to be tricky, even though I took good notes and studied a lot. Figured out later that going to review sessions really helps. Don't buy the book.

Dr. Trask is super invested in the topics she teaches and uses a lot of anecdotes to teach the class. She'll tell you what to write down from the slides and gives good study guides for each of the tests. Taking it honors means only 2 non-cumulative exams, a shorter paper, a one-page paper for completion, and a 10 page final research paper.

Easiest A ever. Engineering major with no background knowledge on Families and Diversity. Common sense exams. Gives study guide with quizzletts already made. Got a 100 on both papers and all responses. Easy graded and very kind person. Great multicultural elective to boost your GPA

100% recommend this class. It's not that much work and the material isn't hard at all. She's also an accessible teacher and responds quickly. I took this over winter session and if you're looking to catch up on credits you should 100% take this.

Sweet and nice professor, easiest class you can take at this school. There are three exams and two papers and they are all very easy. Would recomend.

Dr. Trask is amazing!! She is the sweetest and most caring woman and wants her students to succeed. If you need an extension she will gladly give it to you. She could not be more accommodating and kind, and I am going to miss having her as a professor. The class isn't hard but is SO interesting cannot recommend it enough.

Professor Trask is awesome and super accommodating. The class is a BREEZE if you put in basic effort. Her lectures are interesting and she makes it clear what you need to know for exams. She offers extra credit but you shouldn't need it if you apply slight care for the course. Extensions are also offered on papers. I barely used the textbook, too.

This class is the easiest class EVER. 4 assignments which are two exams and two papers make up your whole grade. Never used the textbook. The professor is very nice and understanding of COVID-19 and gave extensions on both papers and pushed back the test for the async section. Also, extra credit bumped me up 5 percent and they were very easy.

The most CARING professor. She was very understanding to everyones circumstances during COVID-19. There are only a couple things you are graded on which include 2-3 papers and 2 tests. Offers 2 extra credit opportunities. Very easy and interesting class. I cannot recommend this class enough. I hope to take another class with her in the future.

Dr. Trask is easily one of the best professors I've had at UD. She cares so much for her students and is always willing to accommodate them. The class consists of 2 exams, 2 papers, and 2 extra credit assignments. She also gives the option to take the class asynchronously. I absolutely adore her, I can not recommend her enough!

Professor Trask was the best professor I have had in awhile. Her class was incredibly easy and she made the course information and lectures interesting. I would definitely take this class, even to just fill a breadth requirement. Sad to leave this class.

Literally the sweetest professor ever and cares about your well being. There are only four things to be graded by with two extra credit opportunities that are really easy. Two papers, two MC tests. Just go to class and take notes on everything because the canvas files is kind of messy and the lectures don't really match up with the modules.

Professor Trask is so sweet, there are not that many assignments to be graded which can be scary but I found everything to be pretty easy. Definitely take her if you get the chance!

LOVED HER so nice, lectures were super interesting, only assignments are 2 tests which are easy & 2 papers (1 all from personal experiences & the other was an interview we conducted but could make it a powerpoint) gives 2 extra credit assignments that bring up grad IMMENSELY & only requires you to write a paragraph

Engineering major who need elective, super easy class with great professor. Two papers, two extra credit assignments and two exams. I had her as asynchronous class easy to get ahead since all modules are available the first day. Everything is straight forward and easy to understand. I would definitely recommend this course with her.

AMMAAZZING I took the asynchronous course for this class and it was so easy. 2 papers and 2 tests and allows for extra credit. Such a fair, understanding teacher compared to the many not so great ones here.

This is one of those really laid back classes. Took it asynch & made sure to take notes of the slides. 2 exams and 2 papers, all are real easy. At times I forgot I was even enrolled in this class. She even postponed due dates plenty of times. The material itself is not difficult either. Definitely take if u want an interesting class for an easy A.

You do not have to go to class AT ALL. 2 extra credit super easy only 1 paragraph for extra 10 points each(so up to 20 points extra credit). 2 tests online at-home. 2 papers soo easy and moves dealines. 10/10 recommend

Trask is so sweet and cares about her students success. Assignments are so easy you don't really have to go to clas. She posts everything, moves due dates, and is so flexible. 2 online tests, 2 papers that are actually fun to write and 2 10 point extra credit assignments. Would 100% recommend, it's easy and also interesting with an amazing teacher.

Very sweet lady who cares about her students. I took this class asynchronous and honors. There are 2 exams based on lectures and a little bit of reading. There are two papers that aren't hard. Honors has to write an 8 page research paper on a family topic instead of taking the second exam and second paper. Easy A and she is very passionate.
