Good teacher, has a stong accent though.
Do the homework. It makes up a lot of your grade. His tests can be tough, they require an in depth knowledge about stuff he sometimes doesnt review in class.

Ok i do not know where these people who don't like him get these ideas.anyways he is a nice man who helps you out a lot do not miss classes if posible don't mis anny if you are 3-5 points from a higher grade he usually gives them to you if you came alway.

Half the time, he even got the questions wrong. Didn't explain things very well. Tests were not on homework material.

Hard to understand professor. Tests are multiple choice so it leaves no room for partial credit. Makes you use MY Math Lab as a quiz grade which is as bad of a program as he is a professor.

Foroughi is rather stern, somewhat terse, and in my opinion, unfriendly. On the positive side, he is a highly experienced instructor (something like 30 years experience), and he teaches well. Just make damn sure you attend every class, and be EARLY!
Although Foroughi is a brialliant Mathmatician, he doesn't know how to teach. His crude knowlege of the English language makes him hard to understand. He's tough, unforgiving, and rude to those who don't understand new concepts.
He is a great teacher and will go that extra mile to help you out, as long as you attend class. go to class and pay attention and it will be easy
When I first started this class I was horrible at algerbra. I flunked the first test and after that I got two A's and two high B's to pull off a B. Foroughi challenges you and makes the class fun to attend. He's the easiest foriegn teacher to understand.
He makes the class a lot harder than what it should be. I have a great Math back ground but sometimes he will confuse me. He can also be mean and bad humored.
He is a very good teacher and he does his best to make sure everyone understands the subject matter. He is always willing to help you if you need it. He kind of simplifies math and relates it to everyday life so you can understand.
What can we say about Mr. Foroughi. Dont ever work for him. He likes to stab people in the back and takes pleasure in it. One of the worst I met at ERAU.

I've had him for 2 math classes... and he's prob. the best math teacher i've had ever! his accent makes class a little funny as well. of course the class isn't super easy b/c it's calc, but he does his best to help everyone understand.

This class is not for people who don't like to come. Tests are based off examples in class. Pop quizes are given often but usually are easy. Often does not understand questions when you ask them.
Worst math teacher I have ever had. Don't take him, the examples he does on the board are easy and not even close to the problems on the exams. He is one of the reasons I'm leaving Embry Riddle. Poor instruction.
He isn't as bad as everyone says. In fact he is actually one of the better math teachers I've had. He offers lots of outside help and knows the material pretty well. At times he can be quite funny. The one thing I will say is that the directions on tests are a little hard to understand sometimes.

Difficult tests. Average class grade is around a 65%. A fair amount of homework that doesn't help your grade, but will hurt it badly if you don't do all of it. Gives quizes when he thinks the class doesn't want to be there or doesn't understand a concept.Attendance is mandatory every day. Sound fun?

I think he was the best math teacher I have ever had. He is helpful and will bend over backwards to ensure understanding. all you have to do is go to class, do your HW and you'll be fine. Come on guys, this is College, it's not supposed to be a breeze! Great math teacher!

He will help you if you are having trouble. However, multiple choice tests for Calc is not the nicest thing. But as long as you do your HW and study for the test you should get a C/B. His accent does make it hard to understand the material. If i had the choice again, I wouldn't take him.

Difficult class, even if you pay attention. Did this stuff back in HS but he totally teaches it a different way. Seems to get mad if you don't understand him. He can speak english but sometimes very difficult to understand.
Insanely hard teacher. Makes everything 20x harder than it needs to be. A bit off the wall at times and sometimes you can't understand him but he's not as bad as other teacher's accents. Would not recommend taking.

Summer A class. Was worried because I heard he was very hard. VERY easy. No homework, though he gave single question quizes almost daily. If math doesn't come natural to you, go over your notes a lot. Tests were all multiple choice. If you get stuck at any time, GET HELP. He moves almost too fast to follow and makes lots of mistakes.
Complete moron. its hard to understand what he is sayin as well as what he is writing. plus, being from some other country (unknown) he looks down on the students
I was scared by all the bad reviews but he exceeded my expecetations. His tests were tough but fair. I learned a lot in his class.
I thought this was going to be a really hard class but not really. He does yell alot but its just part of his accent I think. Tests were very fair. His reviews were helpful and he made himself available if you needed help. Yeah, I'd take him again.

If not, you will have a very hard time, mainly since his english is horrible and when he does examples on the board, he almost always writes something wrong in it which confuses you, and if you tell him that he wrote something wrong, he doesnt really care...

Professor Foroughi is a great teacher. He's fairly easy if you just DO the homework - and i'm not too great at math. Sometimes he gives you points just for going to class. He's also available and willing to help outside of class. I'd say he's the best math teacher i've ever had...
Ive been getting high A's for all of my exams, doing all the homework and I attended all classes. But im still getting a B. Whenever I went to his office to get some help, he told me that he was busy and made me go out...he always seemed to be pissed. I wouldnt recommend this guy
Attended every class. done all the homework. tests are the worst, 10 questions, 10 points a question, get one wrong your down a letter grade on the test. can't understand the guy. the exam was the worst ever. he knows his stuff but can't teach, and i got all A's math, never below a 95% in hs. now my gpa is hurting, audit, get out if u have him.

He's a very smart man but can't teach. He doesn't explain things properly and his homework is mind-boggling. His tests are horribly difficult - almost as if designed to fail you. Wow where can I start? Well if your on here then you know how expensive classes are here at Riddle. So I say that to say this.. Dont waste your money on a mono-tone below average professor that doesn't speak english that well. Many people warned me about him before I came to the class, but of course i had problems with my registration so whatever.
Extremely clear and thorough with his teaching, but man is this guy anal. Most the class didn't show up or do homework, probably because there is a lot of it, but he lectures on life responsiblities ore than he teaches. His accent isn't a problem. His attitude may be if you don't like crabby old men.

STAY AWAY FROM FOROUGHI!!!!! Take Stacey Badran if you can; if not go for Jan Collins instead. Just stay away from Foroughi at all costs!
Good teacher, and funny accent. Always talks about happy hour or the Ocean Deck, but other than that gets the material across fairly quickly. There is no quiet/dead time in the class and you need to DO YOUR HOMEWORK to succeed. Come prepared and you will pass with flying colors!

Foroughi is often misunderstood. Many people don't like him. The people who are ok with math will enjoy him, the ones who suck at math dont. There's no grey area. His mistakes are very small errors, nothing to get confused about. He likes to keep the class entertained, or awake at least. Tests are debatable...if you study, you'll do fine.

does not know how to teach. does not let students use graphing calculators. managed to write the Unit Circle on the board, and teach it to the class, Upside down and backwards! Do not take Foroughi if you are colorblind, uses millions of colors to explain a simple problem on the board. He does make funny jokes to keep the class entertained.
His class is dry and boring and you will want to fall asleep. The main thing that really blows is he doesn't give partial credit on test which can kill you. He also grades homework which is not the point of homework, its a learning tool, not something to make you fail. I wouldnt take him if I forced too!

In class he starts off teaching a lesson by using only examples. Needs to explain what we were doing first or the formula he was demonstrating first. So many examples & never gets to the point. I LOVED this class and i hate math. Foroughi is the best math teacher I have ever had. he not only tells stories of "happy hour" but has funny life stories. He treats his students as his own children. and his teaching was very clear and his door was always open. very helpful guy. and funny. TAKE HIS CLASS!

Got a 96 in MA 006. Math has always been an easy subject for me. Got into Foroughi's class and was amazed at how bad of an instructor he is. It's not that he has trouble TEACHING the concept, its that he GRADES HOMEWORK and he does not review all the sections on the test. IF YOU READ THIS AND TAKE HIM, YOU DESERVE WHAT YOU GET.
Probably the worst math teacher i've ever had. I've never had a problem with math before, until this class. I will get 100% on homework and then fail his tests! he is always mixing up his words and numbers and doing problems wrong. unless you are EXTREMELY good at calculus already, do not take him!

Very very difficult class, went from fantastic, easy to understand teachers to him. Is extremely strict on grading and how everything must be done. Went from getting 103 on test in ma111 to 60 in 112. WOULD NOT RECCOMEND TO ANYONE.
He is pretty good for 111, but for 112 it is a nightmare. He will teach you about oranges, but test you on apples if that makes sense.
I think Foroughi was a good math teacher. I came into his class nervous cause i had taken a year off of math but he reviews every subject before going into the harder stuff. he understands you want an A and will do what he can to make it happen. I even had him at 8AM and still like him and he makes some funny jokes!
This professor was probably one of the easiest on campus. He had questions on the test that were on the homework assignments, plus his accent was hilarious. He pronounced the quotient rule as kosher and you have celebrations not test.
Contrary to popular opinion, Foroughi is a good professor. He may be hard to understand but he teaches the material thoroughly. Tests (at least in my class) were only 10 questions. If you review the example problems he does in class, tests are a breeze. Make sure you attend class, take notes and pay attention. You'll get a high B or an A.

Foroughi is the man! He will make you laugh with his dry sense of humor. He understands that not everyone is a master at math, and therefore offers his help to anyone that asks for it. Very good teacher, easy to talk to, class is an enjoyable experience. He shows you the easiest way to understand the material. Would highly reccommend!
Foroughi's teaching style, in MA 111 at least, isn't too bad. He attempts to make it easy and clear enough for us to understand. Just make sure you don't use your phone during his class or he'll flip! Do your homeworks, study, and just show up, and you should do fine.

Seriously the worst professor at this school in the math department. I went to every class but 2 and my grade became very low very fast. The homework assignments don't count for much. Got 90's on all homework assignments but low test grades and i was forced to drop. Very mean. Will not work with you if you are not on his good side. very bias.
Foroughi is hilarious on his good days, but has had several bad days when he went on tantrums. We did have some bad students, but his responses were unprofessional at times. Attendance matters to an extent, but if you know what you're doing you can get away with a few absences. Personally, I'd take him again.
Foroughi has a very simple way of teaching his class. Grading is straight forward but the only downside is the tests. Tests are not a lot of questions so that means each question is worth a lot of points. If you do not know one or two concepts from the chapters covered prior to the test, expect below a 80 on that test. I would take him again.
Granted the class can be more on the tough side, but thats the point of college... not just to party. He was always willing to help people when they come and talk to him, and contrary to what people say 'ypu ask a question and he makes you answer it (ITS NOT negative) its a positive, he encourages the students to look harder and push for an answer!

What to say about Foroughi? The first day of class he says you won't forget Foroughi and it's true. He's the most difficult teacher I've ever had, but fair and I'm more confident of my math skills than ever before.
Honestly Foroughi is a great guy but he can be very hard and doesn't care. He makes jokes sometimes in class to try and ease the tension. If you skip class or decide not to do the homework, you are asking for a F. He gives ALOT of homework so be prepared for that.
Professor Foroughi is funny but still explains the material really clearly during the lectures. He does some of the problems, makes sure everyone understands, and even gives real life examples to further make the content understandable. I would take him again because he actually makes math lectures interesting!

This professor is old school, and does not use MyLab. He is strict, expects you in class and to do home work, which is 30% of your grade. If you show the effort, use the tutors (sign in), he is known for raising your final grade a point or more. He is usually available for help early morning even those it is not advertised on syllabus.
Professor Foroughi teaches all the material you need to know. Make sure to do the homework. If you have any issues, he is available in office hours and wants to see students succeed.

Don't question him or he will spend 20 minutes putting you down in front of the whole class. Assigns 15-30 problems of homework almost every class and only grades five of those problems. Lectures can be hard to understand and doesn't grade tests consistently. However, does provide textbook and rounds final grade up to 2.1% up. Wouldn't recommend.
If in math thou is ass... and decides to take this class... you shall not pass! Let me explain He does problems by himself on the board / has very few tests (3) / grades homework awfully (only 5 random problems out of the 20 or more assigned) / grades on attendance (mandatory) / belittling (material is below him), you'll be teaching yourself
only three tests last day to drop is tomorrow and only had one grade so far. homework everyday and zero feedback on it just x and points off out of 5 so make five total mistakes on 15-20 questions you get a zero for a grade. ask for help and he says i just showed you if i do it again ill be late for happy hour
Do NOT take this professor. You'll show up to class and he just stands there staring at kids, but doesn't say any type of 'How are you" or "good morning". He claims he doesn't get paid enough to care about grading homework properly. He is rude, sarcastic, and unfortunately Professor Foroughi is just a very unhappy man. Students deserve better.
Very bad he kept winking at me in class and telling me to meet him in his office hours. I went once and stormed out crying
