He just got a PhD so he is learning how to teach. Hard class, but compared to the other teachers, he is prob the best. Gives lots of partial credit on exams. Responds to emails usually within an hour. Grades exams within one day. English is pretty decent, but I would daydream a lot when stuff got boring. You can prob expect a B+ for this class.

Although he is very new to teaching, he is one of my favorite FIN professors. He is knowledgeable and makes great study guides. If you study hard you should have NO trouble getting at LEAST a B+. He has a couple funny jokes up his sleeve as well and is always available to help

He gives study guides for tests and reviews in class what the students should know. Knowing the study guide should absolutely get you a B Gives partial credit on tests which were MC and working problems. He does not take himself too seriously and even has a couple jokes. I actually enjoyed going to this class. Fav teacher at FSU by far

He goes by Tony because he says his Chinese name is too hard to pronounce. His English is good so he is easy to understand. If you're any good at math, and enjoy Finance, this class will be very interesting and relatively easy. I strongly recommend him.

Tony is an extremely nice and caring professor. He truly wants his students to succeed and gives them every opportunity to do so. He provides you with a study guide on the first day of class that gives you most of the information necessary to pass his tests. He cracks a few jokes which make class more enjoyable. This class isn't a joke though.

Tony is the best teacher by far for FIN 4424 and one of my favorite teachers altogether. He is so nice and wants to help you out in any way possible. Go to his study hours for clarification because this class has some tricky concepts. Overall, the tests are manageable and you should expect at least a B in the class.

He's a really cool teacher and a really nice guy but the tests are tough, its easy to get a B in the course but you have to really know what you're doing to get an A. Tests are only about 12 multiple choice questions and 3 write-out calculation questions, final is cumulative but he gives a study guide.

Tony is definitely the best professor I've had thus far in college. He's incredibly smart when it comes to anything finance related and is always available to help you out. This isn't your ordinary finance class, its similar to financial management as far as topics are concerned but he teaches you the philosophy behind it all.

Awesome guy inside and outside of class. Cares more about you learning the subject than the grade and does not look to trick you. Tests are not too bad so long as you study the study guide and homework problems (which are not graded). Give your time to study. As straightforward as it seems you'll need time to learn it and not just memorize it.

My favorite/best finance FSU professor. I learned more in his class than all of my other finance classes combined. With this said I received my first B in his class. He says you are guaranteed a B as long as you know the study guide, which I find hard to believe. I went to every lecture and studied for hours/days and my highest test grade was an 84

Best teacher i've had in my entire college career. He actually cares about you learning so he uses really good real world examples and makes jokes that make the class funner. He has a very comprehensive study guide that makes studying much easier. If you put in the effort you'll do very well. Very fair grader.

If you go to class and take notes, you will get at least a B+. Test are from the lectures. He goes over everything that will be on the exam in detail. No surprises (if you go to class). He grades everything super quick and is always willing to meet with you. Don't buy the text book... pretty sure he doesn't even know there is one lol

Tony is by far the best teacher in the college of business. He knows all about finance, and makes his lectures interesting. The beginning of each class he does an overview of the previous lecture to remind you of the information previously learned. The test are a little tricky but he gives you a study guide, so if you study that you'll be set.

It is by far the best professor i had through my studies and although class wasnt mandatory, I wanted to go to each class because of how entraining the environment was. Do yourself a favor and take the class!!He is a great teacher who knows what he is doing and makes it easier for you to understand. 2 tests (10% and 30%), so you mess up on a test it's ok, the final is cummalitive but it's not that hard and some of the questions are the same from the previous tests. Sensational professor. Cares about his students and remembers names uncomfortably fast, so be sure to make a good impression early. Class is extremely test heavy (80%) but test material is covered very explicitly. Lectures are optional but in your favor. Gives in-class notes with math that supplement the slides. 10/10 would take again.

Although I did find his class to be extremely challenging, and ended up with a B (where I usually can pretty easily get all As), Tony is by far the BEST professor I have had at FSU thus far. He's INSANELY smart and cares so much about your education. I enjoyed going to class even though it was the hardest one on my schedule. Go to class!

By default this is a hard class, however, Professor Baixiao makes it so much simpler. Go to his lectures and take notes on his examples. He is very interesting and you will learn a lot. He also provides a study guide for his exams. The book is not mandatory but it can help you further understand. GREAT PROFESSOR!

Really cares how students are feeling about the tempo/difficulty of the class. Explains finance topics in ways I never saw before. Makes brilliant connections between concepts. Sometimes concepts are hard to follow when he makes them very general, but nothing outrageous. Go to class and get a B-. Study and go over the math and get an A- or A.

Tony was a great professor! Really friendly guy who is easy to listen to. Class is a little difficult in itself, but not too crazy. Very easy to get a B, and with a little more studying an A is very attainable.

Tony is a cool teacher. Kinda weird but funny which helps. He knows his stuff on the topic. Two mid-terms, one cumulative final, and a group project make up the grades. The group project happens after the two mid-term exams. Definitely, go to class if you really want extra knowledge on stuff even though attendance isn't mandatory. Would take again.

Tony is the man! He is VERY knowledgeable in finance, and also on the job market. He gives helpful tidbits of interview-type questions and info throughout the class which is helpful if you are interested in pursuing a career in finance. The guy is smart, not to mention pretty hilarious. If you try, you can absolutely get an A and learn a lot.

Tony is the bomb!!! I would definitely take again. His study guide that is online is 85% of the exam. However he does NOT post his in class notes online so I like to do to all the classes. The end of year quiz, which the school makes (not Tony), is pretty difficult. Overall, expect to get an A.

Great teacher, he will go out of his way to make sure you pass his class (If you're chilling on a D and need that C- he will accommodate the curve if you attend class regularly). Honestly this is a hard class, but it is easy to study for via his study guide as well as practice questions that are similar to the test. TAKE THIS CLASS WITH HIM.

One of the best teachers I've had at Florida State. He cares to go to the extra mile to make sure you understand the class completely. The exams are almost identical to the problems that he goes through in class-- make sure you make it a priority to attend. He is also one of the few teachers in college that gives you a study guide.

Baixia Liu, aka Tony, is one of my favorite professors to date at FSU. He knows the subject material very well and teaches it in a straighforward, easy to digest manner. His exam review lectures are quite helpful, take advantage of them and watch >90% of his lecture videos and youll do well. His class requires effort but he gives u the tools.

Tony is an awesome professor that is willing to go the extra mile to make sure his students do well. He will let you know which topics will be tested as he goes over them so be on the lookout during his lectures. Pro tip: ALWAYS show your work on the tests as he is very lenient with partial credit, even if the answer is wrong.
