very nice but hard to understand
Hard to understand, not helpful in class
Can't understand anything he says. He moves through material pretty fast. If he misses a day, plan on covering everything you missed plus whatever was planned for that day.
He filled in for our class this year when our teacher was out for personal reasons. He is the best Math teacher I have had at FSU. He covers the material we need to know and tests us on that material covered, no suprises. Take this guys classes!!
good guy
Nice guy. Filled in for the first few weeks of class. Sometimes not that clear but he's open to questions and available for help.
Can't understand, very strong accent. Not always willing to help.
he was pretty cool, hard to understand once in a while, but he is pretty fair, his exams came straight from the home work, so u do the homework u will already have the answers for the test
Awesome teacher that is exceptionally helpful to make sure everyone understands what he's trying to say...don't let his name get to you! You can understand him!
Not a bad guy. He istn't that hard to understand. He doesn't joke around a lot but when he does, it can be amusing. Lots of exams but the questions are all from the homework. No calculators in class though so watch out.
very good math teacher.
Loves Math, Knows Math, and Teaches Math well. If you pay attention, take notes, and do your homework you WILL do well. He will answer EVERY question asked, and DOES review before tests.
Knows the subject well and will answer any questions, but is soetimes hard to understand.
Lousy teaching skills, Lousy communication skills. Students drop out during class, the rest of the class period is spent listening to Siddikov gripe about how no one treats him with respect. Should have taken Communications instead of math in 30 years.
Be prepared to teach yourself math. If you test bad, prepare to fail. It's SQUARE ROOT not Root Squared! Every time he says that I have a r^2 rather then x^.5
Easy class, Your tests come straight from the homework, and he go's over the homework in class. He is a little hard to understand.
this class was pretty easy, if you can do the homework you can do the exams, he gives you all the exam problems, he even drops the lowest exam. hes a cool guy unless you try to leave his class early, then he goes crazy
He will no provide a connection between previous math classes and this one so good luck! Difficult to understand at times & doesn't try to keep the entire class on the same page. Fall behind or do poor on a test you will fail with ease. Many drop outs!
way to fast. very hard to understand. goes crazy if you swear or leave class earlie.
He needs to learn proper english. If the guy plans on teaching math, he should at least be able to explain it. If you know most of the material from before, you'll love the class b/c it'll be really easy. Don't expect to learn anything new
This class is a waste of my time. This guy doesn't even speak english. I got into this class to learn math but all I got out of it was frustration. He should go back to the Soviet Union or wherever he came from. Oh yeah and he freaks out if you leave class early.
There won't be a math class that is more straight forward! The test questions are from the homework, number for number! There is no confusion of what is going to be on the tests! No quizes, so do your homework and you will be fine!
What the hell country is this guy from? He needs to learn proper English or at least be understandable.
All of the test questions are from the homework. Very difficult to understand him talk. His tests are not very difficult though.
this guy is crazy. he barely speaks english which makes it very hard to learn from him. why cant ferris have teachers that speak english?? stay away from this guy at all costs!!!!!
sure is english is a little shaky but for the most part he is quite clear and repeats himself, when nessary & wants u to do GOOD. This class is easy if ur willing to show up, He is a very accomplished math teacher, he teaches much higher classes explains GOOD 10questionsTEST, Easy when grading tests
Take this teacher, even if you suck at math. He is th ebest math teacher at ferris or anywhere else. his tests are made up of the little amount of homework given. word for word. if you like to **** and not learn, stay away, but if you have a brain you will do fine as long as you show up and listen!
If you pay attention, his accent seems to fade. He really is very funny and helps you visualize what he is trying to explain. He doesn't make you feel like an idiot for asking questions. He's the only math teacher I actually learned anything from! 10 question tests come straight from the homework!
He is hard to understand at first, but if you show up and listen you start to get past his heavy accent. He an excellent teacher if you listen. He interacts with the class and makes you do the problems with him. Very little homework and no quizzes.
He write to fast and too sloppy. He doesnt explain thoroughly and cant talk very well (english)!!
Siddikov was a little hard to understand at first but after the first couple classes you can understand him much better. He is extremely helpful and reasonable about homework and reviewing before the test. He is also very liberal on grading and tries to give you as many points as he can. He is a funny guy and explains things such that anyone can understand. I got an A- in his class, Excellent teacher. DO the homework and be sure to ask questions!
You should take him if you have prior knowledge in math. But to actually learn from him, he went fast and you could hardly understand him.
He's very ahrd to understand and not very patient.
He is my favorite prof. I am in his Calc class and it is easier than my AP Calc class in high school! Yes, he is foreign, but I think people need to get over their **** judgments. He is not at all hard to understand! I recieved an easy A. Only 4 tests, not cummulative, and goes over all problems. It's only on the test if it was (not graded) hw.
He is not very patient and needs to lighten up. He needs to understand that students have a life outside his class. and needs to realize that in order to get respect he needs to earn it and not expect it from his students.
He seemed to be very patient and willing to help, but he didn't always understand a question. Sometimes he'd explain an entire problem when someone only had one little question. At times he was hard to understand. Your grade is only based off of 4 tests, so if you do good on the tests you pass. Do the homework.
If you don't like being called on in class, DO NOT TAKE THIS PROFESSOR! Other than that, his class was extremely easy because he takes his exam questions DIRECTLY from the homework.
HORRIBLE teacher!!! DO NOT take him!! Doesn't teach one thing...talks to the board the entire time...I've never had a problem w/ math till him...don't expect to learn one thing!!
I honestly think that the people who said Siddikov is hard must be retarded. He is animated in class so it helps you remember things. He will also go over any HW problems you ask in class. Do the homework, ask questions and you will easily get A's on the exams. If people think this class is hard, they should consider switching majors.
Siddikov is a very nice and funny professor. Sometimes he talks to the board and he explains things that aren't really necessary. There are 4 exams that come right out of the homework. You should not wait till the last minute to study your homework problems or you will have a hard time on the tests.
"Everybody's okay?" "First last name please" "you're harrassing that calculator" "Make sense?" "Questions please"...these are just some of the things you will hear in his class. The 10 question/100 point tests come right off of the (non mandatory) homework list that he provides. Doesn't really explain things well, but he's entertaining! haha
Very hard to understand, he goes so fast through the sections and is on such a tight schedule its unreal. If you don't have prior knowledge of trig you'll be lost. I would suggest taking the other option(s) of whatever other prof. is teaching this class. 5 tests worth 100 points each. No homework grades.
I would suggest any other professor. If you don't have any background in trig you'll def. be lost. Teaches right from the book, not any opportunities for points except from the tests! :(
This class is pretty easy. He only counts the exams so be sure to study for them. Just do the suggested homework and ask questions in class. If you do this its very easy to get an A. Its too bad I don't have him for 126.
Dr. Siddikov is awesome. Look, the last time I had a math class was 1999. Dr. Siddikov helped me go from barely passing in high school to top of class. All you have to do is the homework (not graded) and the exams. Problems are strait out of the homework and there is extra credit. Always willing to help. Wish I had him for Math 126. Funny Guy
i was very scared when i first heard the only thing we were graded on was 4 or 5 tests but if you do the homework and keep up you should be okay. Ive never considered myself good at math but i have a B in the class so far. The questions are straight from the homework so just keep that in mind and study and you should be okay.
Good teacher, Hard to understand sometimes. 5 test = 500 possible points, easy enough.
I think he was a really good teacher for explaining things. If you had any questions he would go back through the problem and take it step by step so you understand it, Okay?
great professor i would advise anyone with trouble in the math area to take him
Best math professor I've ever had. Explains everything in the simplest way possible. Truly cares about his students. HIGHLY recommend!!
Not a bad teacher, but he got very difficult to understand at times. The best part of the class was is enthusiasm for the subject.
Math is by far my worst subject. I don't understand numbers at all. I took his class in summer and it was easy. Go to class, you can't teach yourself.
Dr. Siddikov is great! Love him, would definitely take him again. Really cares about students, and if they understand the material. He does go REALLY fast in class though. Don't listen to other people about his accent, it's not bad at all. You will have no problem understanding him.
Very good teacher, extremely helpful. If you have any questions at all he will try and explain it until you understand it. Do the homework and you will be fine.
Great Professor! Ya he takes attendance and has a kind of thick Russian accent. But, all you have to do is ask and he'll explain something until he knows you understand. Hw isn't collected but it's out of the book, I didn't even buy one and did fine in the class. 4-exams, 10 questions each, definitely show up to review day. TAKE THIS PROF!!!
Very helpful. Only grade is tests worth 100 point each totaling 500. Great explanations. "Regular" attendance required. (I go 3 of 4 days a week) Homework is assigned for your own practice but not graded or required. Don't have to buy the book unless you want to. Great professor!
Siddikov is awesome! Really animated, funny guy. His "Siddikovisms" will have you cranking up all the time. He has a way of making you understand the material, and he's always willing to stop and explain everything in detail.
Dr. Siddikov cares that his students understand the subject, after every problem he asks if there are any questions. If there are any questions he will go back and explain in depth. Overall great guy very helpful.
Best math teacher i ever had. Extremely helpful. It takes a while to get use to his accent but once you do he is fine. His test questions are the EXACT same as the homework. say he assignes 100 questions per unit he only choses 10 for the test and they are the EXACT same. Extremely easy grader, and an extremely easy class. Super nice guy too.
Siddikov is extremely helpful. He really cares about his students. EVERY exam has been completely easy, all you gotta do is understand how to do the problems he assigns. If you know how to do them, you'll get an A because one of the questions from each section is on the exam. Does each question on board as a review. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND HIM!
Pretty easy class. Questions on test are from homework problems. And the test is only 10 questions. But just because you know the homework problems doesn't mean you understand the material. I would rather learn the material fully than 10 homework problems. Overall, easy class, but if you actually want to learn I would recommend a different teacher.
Thick accent, difficult to understand. Way over qualified to teach this class. Strictly by the book and does not break things down when they need to be! Over half of the class had dropped by mid-terms! Make sure you practice your HW problems over and over so you can teach YOURSELF.
Could barely understand him as he taught, an overall nice guy but just couldn't teach. He taught very simple mathematics in the most complicated way I have ever seen. I actually got confused the more I paid attention.
You can tell he truly cares about getting the information across. He will ask if anyone has questions and not move on until someone asks. He kind of over-explains though. It's easy to get overwhelmed because he goes so far in depth with his definitions and 'remarks'. For me, math is easiest to understand when simplified. Which isn't how he teaches.
He is a great teacher! He breaks everything down and makes it easier to understand. He'll go over problems until everyone understands them. He's so nice an be very passionate about his work. The only downside is that you're grade is just based on tests.
Dr. Siddikov is one of the best math professors that I have ever had. All of his tests are straight from his homework, and he tells you that before the exam. If you know you struggle in math, just learn how to do his homework problems and you will do well in the class. There is no reason why you shouldn't get an A in the class if you did the HW.
HARD TO UNDERSTAND
Homework problems are the whole test, but don't feel relieved - there's around 50 homework problems per chapter and only 9 on the test. Oh and that homework isn't graded so the only grades you have are your exams. He rights definitions, gives examples, but doesn't actually teach you what it means. Good luck
Does not help in any way when you ask for help. Only gives 5 exams no homework, quizzes or attendance points. No one does good on exams and he still won't curve, drop test score or change anything about his exams or the way he teaches
Difficult to understand but if you have questions about the lecture or assignments, go to his office hours and he will explain the material more clearly. Tests aren't to difficult and you actually learn something in his class. If you can take another professor I would suggest doing so but he isn't the worst in the math department at Ferris
Math 116 was terrible. Algebra 2 with trig should not be that confusing or difficult. Hard to understand Prof. Lectures were 2 hours long twice a week, and never seemed to end.
Dr. Siddikov is very hard to understand and only uses his tests for your overall grade. He gives poor examples of what he is teaching and doesn't use blackboard.
The only assignments graded are tests, however it is made extremely clear what is going to appear on the tests. He tries to give you as many points as he can when grading the tests. He truly cares about student's success and is helpful during office hours. Lectures are geared more towards those who are proficient in math.
i'm not sure he's aware that we are in 2017 and this generation is different from his generation: he grades based off the knowledge you can carry while taking a test. he doesn't use BB b/c he's afraid of hackers on the internet. (same with emails) first class i've ever failed and i've taken 4 semesters. overall terrible teacher. i hope he quits.
Explains things well. Gives good examples.
Moves quick a relatively difficult math class. Gives no explanation of the concepts behind the math, just plows through an equation at break-neck speed, asks if everyone understood, and moves onto the next one before anyone can answer. Offers no points beyond tests, though he is a generous grader on said tests. No option for extra credit. GoodLuck
Classes based only on a couple test of 15 questions each which if you fail one youre done for.
He is not very available of extra help and may be a very smart person but a absolute horrible teacher. He does not explain anything well. If you can don't have him as a proffeor
Very nice during class and responded to emails fairly quick would take again
Lots of people don't understand his way of teaching. He is very passionate about math and loves teaching it. He is a little hard to understand sometimes, but it never gets in the way of learning. He goes off on tangents sometimes, but it makes class more fun. It is a difficult class, just try and you'll do fine, and always ask questions.
I would highly recommend if you have to take this class to use a tutor. I've been a straight A student and I struggled to get a C. Hes a wonderful person. But I dont understand his lectures or teaching style. I wish I knew what questions to ask him because I just pretend to know the material. Just overall very confusing to learn from. Math 220.
May be hard to understand sometimes, but it's always a fun time in his class with his funny jokes and remarks. Personally, I like his teaching style and don't see the problem that people have. Would definitely have him as my professor again.
Prof Siddikov is honestly such a great teacher. He is incredibly energetic and makes the leactures not feel as boring as most teachers do. He is also very caring and puts a lot of emphasis on making sure everyone knows what he is teaching. The only drawback is all of the grades come from the exams which can make exam days pretty stressful.
