Baochi is one of the best professor I have ever seen. We should hand in the homework every class in order to let you keep on concentrating this class. I really like this teaching methord. Also, she is very nice when you ask questions. Very easy exam if you study hard about your study guide. This MIT PhD is really good.

Dr. Nguyen tries very hard to help her students. The students who did not do well in her class didn't attend regularly, didn't do the homework, or didn't see her during her office hours for help.

She is hard to understand sometimes, but she knows what she is talking about. She gives plenty of extra credit, but there's also lots of homework.

BaoChi is a sweet & young lady, which surprised me for a Math Calculus class. She is much easier than other professors I have ever taken for calculus. She prepares lecture notes for each section, and they are very helpful! EC are given. People say she has thick accent, but the accent is very comprehensive for Asian students. Got >95% for all exams!

Easy class. Quiz questions are taken directly from the homework and she repeats questions on tests. A lot of extra credit. A little bit of an accent, but very friendly and helpful overall.

I would pretty much recommend her for anything but Math 285. Math 285 is VERY conceptual, and she has a hard time explaining concepts that are not that hard. So sometimes, I had to figure out things on my own when we go over examples. But she does tests fairly straightforward. And I would like say that I'm pretty decent at math.

Homework every lecture, but is not overwhelming at all. 3 Exams and 1 Final which are not hard because she hands you a study guide for each exam. I took her for three classes and i thought she was amazing. Funny and caring. If you dont pass its because you didnt put the effort. You have to be in class everyday and be attentive. Math isnt my strongest subject but i passed all three classes. Extra help might be needed but like i said, it all depends on your effort.

She is truly a fantastic teacher. She truly cares for her students but makes you work for your grade. As long as you complete the Hw, the tests will be cake. I recommend taking this professor; she actually has changed my mind about math. I now like math possibly might love it.

She is AMAZING! Take her math course. I absolutely hate math but she is definitely a great math professor. She makes sure all her students understand each problem/ concept before she moves on. She gives most credit during exams even if the problem is wrong. Make sure you do the HW/Lab! Show up to class and try. She is a great professor!

Quizes are exactly from homework. She gives extra credit for doing practice exam. Her lectures give a variety of problems, and some are even in the exam. Notes, are in packet form/pdf. She is great overall, slight accent, but mangeable. Calc 2 is extremely difficult. Be prepared.

First, everything she does in class will be on the exams. If you put in at least 8 hours of study each week the exams will be a breeze. She basically tells you everything that'll be on the exams. Second, she does talk real fast, but she does answer questions if you actually ask her. Easiest math professor I've had, and I took the Winter session.

Hand down the best professor for math. People messed up the first exam. The second exam, she copied and pasted exactly words from words from the study guide. Very easy grader. Quizzes are from homeworks. Exams have no trick questions. Will point out the questions which will be on the exams during lectures. Just be attentive and get an easy A.

Great Professor. Took her for math 181 and will be taking her for math 280. All you need to do to get an A in the class is to attend class, pay attention and do your homework. Her test questions comes from homework and lecture problems. She gives detailed study guides every tests. She is hard if you are lazy, like a good professor should be.

I kinda like this professor. She is quite nice. She dropped the lowest quiz and test, which is awesome. Calculus is not an easy subject, so please don't just blame the teacher for all the challenges you encountered. You always need to put in some efforts.

I never took pre-calc, Baochi is fantastic, it's very true that she has a lot of homework, but it's winter term so it's faster than usual. She is NOT mean or condescending, our class asks seemingly stupid questions and she stops to answer every person, she will willingly stop and explain, YOU NEED TO ASK. accent not thick. DO H.W AND PRAC. EXAM

Calc in 6 weeks is tough and theres a lot of homework (very tedious) but shes a great instructor. She has to speed through lecture because theres a lot to cover. Shes super nice and is willing to answer questions if there are any. Truly cares about her students and wants us to succeed. Book is required for HW.

Bao-Chi is very, very good. She'll provide all the notes to you digitally, so you don't have to worry about taking notes and can just focus on learning, there's lots of HW, but it'll prepare you for the tests. She'll also replace your lowest test (of 3) with your final score if it's higher. Have to ask questions! But she's kind and will listen!

Best math professor I had so far at mt sac. She prints out your the lectures, emails you every lectures we have, lets you email her questions and she responses right away, and always gives a lot of examples and goes around to help every student. If you dont pass its cause you dont ask for her help basically.

I do not every thing about math before I took this class, and my English is not perfect, but I have learn a lot via this class. She is really nice, and she accepts late homework. I do not know someone else, but she gave me a lot curve for each exam. Sometimes she delay to renewal canvas.

I took Baochi when COVID began and I took 3 other lecture classes and a lab, let's just say I passed all of them with As and this is the only class I did not. Baochi had trouble adjusting to online and was very unorganized, unreachable for days at a time, she went over about 2 or 3 problems from the hw, so you had to teach yourself, basically.

One of the best teachers that I took. Most of the exams are from the lecture notes and sample exams. She is really smart, I have to say. If you are confused, please ask her a question.

Bao Chi Nguyen is really nice. She cares about her students. If you don't understand just email her, she will help you out. Do all assignments, you will be fine. Her quiz and exam are pretty easy.

Straightforward and helpful. Homework almost every night, BUT if you do it all, the test questions are almost identical. Explains everything super clearly in class and even accepts late homework. She's kind when you ask questions, she's also easily reachable during office hours, an example of what I wish every professor is like!

Some of the reviews are really unfair. Quarantine gives all of us a hard time. This class is difficult and you get lots of homework no matter who your professor is. Professor Nguyen is imperfect, but you can see her efforts. I had her as my professor for all my calculus classes, and I like her.

Her class is relatively easy as long as you go to class, do her homework and exam review. Her exam question and quizzes are similar to the exam review/ HW so yeah. Professor Bao-Chi offers extra help after classes, and she curves the exam if students didn't do well. She will tell students what to expect on the exam, just make sure to understand the concepts and do the practice questions (extra practice on your own definitely help). You will pass the class.

Explains easy concepts really well but she kinda overcomplicates the harder concepts which was stressful since the final consisted of those concepts and was worth 30% of our grade. She assigns a lot of homework, but thats usually unavoidable since this is a hard math course. Professor Nguyen is not perfect but you can see that she does care.

Some professors want you to learn, and some just want you to pass this course. She is the former. It's too demanding and I'm not smart enough.

Prof Bao Chi deserves more credit than people give her here. Her lectures are organized and at a good pace. If you have questions, you can always ask her during her zoom office hours. Quizzes are mostly group based. She does not allow cheat sheets during exams, but as long as you master the quiz and in-class problems, you should be good.

Cons: Lecture starts of easy for this class. When things started to get completed by the end of the sem, be prepared it will be hard and fast. Pro: Exams are similar like practice exams. Do those, they serve as extra credit for exams. Exams are curved by few points. Not for you if you don't like fast and concise explanation.

I loved this class and am glad that Prof. Nguyen instructed me. I feel like the lectures were clear, the pacing was good, and lots of curving + EC. Be skeptical because I love Calculus; if you're not strong in your foundations of Calculus, this class may be way more difficult. The biggest issue with the class is having to memorize formulas.

Professor Baochi is very clear on teaching the basics of Calc 3. Normally hard to understand and tests can be hard. But will grade very generous and she offers extra credit for exams based on the practice test. Homework is off the textbook but even if not all problems are solved, still gives full credit.

My final score is 97.11%. To get this score you need to take the course seriously, Professor Baochi will do her best to help you and she gives a lot of ec and group quizzes. She's an amazing professor and explains things very well. It's clear she has a great understanding of Math but she tends to lecture very fast. Very caring professor and easy to reach outside of class. If you spend the time doing the study guides and paying attention in lectures you'll know what to expect on the exam. Overall, would recommend.

I'm not sure why Professor BaoChi only has a 3/5 star rating. She has all the qualities of an amazing professor: accessible in office hours, will always answer your questions, etc. She really wants the best for her students. Be prepared to put in the work! I'm not the best at calc, but with a lot of hard work, getting an A was very possible.

I didn't think she would remember me from last sem but she did and she suggested for me to take her 181 as it's cheaper and easier compared to another uni and that's what I'm doing. She's great!

One of the if not the best professor at Mt sac to take calc 3 with, very lenient grader and gives a lot of partial credit on exam if you just show your thought process. Curves reasonably on midterms and surprisingly also on the finals as well.

I cried when I first started her class becuz it was a bit fast paced, BUT I am so glad I stayed and did not drop. She is a very lenient grader so if you get the concept, she will definitely notice your effort. I loved taking her class. Also, there is not much of HW but make sure you do those for yourself.

Math280 is not an easy class; many of the topics feel arbitrary. Baochi does quite a good job breaking them down with examples.
