She is a good Professor. She gives us a lot of homework for practice.She is a very nice,never get angry.But she doesn't accept late homework.

If you want to learn take Ms Lawrence if you just want a free ride run for cover.

Yes, many students had problems in her class. But I didn't have any. I just did my work. That's it. She goes over thing quickly. She gives lots of homework. But hw is based on what you did in class. I won't say that she is the worst professor i had . She was fine for me.

She is very good prof. explains material very good. Of course if you are lazy, then she is very bad prof, because she wants you to work, do the homework and for some students it is unacceptable, that is why she does not have high ratings. I had B+ with her, I think she is great.

She takes her class very seriously, so much that she thinks all of us are MATH MAJORS....very hard exams, accumulative final (over 7 pages!), moves too fast on subjects. Only two people did well in class (both math majors) and got A's. Over half of class dropped before the midterm.

This teacher knows what she's talking about! Take her class to LEARN. Math killed me before this class and now I understand what I'm doing! She's very clear and logical. Do your work, show that you're trying to understand, pay attention, and you'll do well. I think the students that are complaining about too much work and hard tests must be lazy...

Very clear in teaching the material required to study calculus. Solved every kind of problem on blackboard. Very good at explaining the procedures of solving problems. I got A in her class but is was hard way through whole semester.I couldn't miss any of her class. She is amazing, fair, and strict, I m just finish her class of fall 09. I learned a lot, and I worked the hardest. She is not easy, so you have to be prepared for work ,and you will have bless. I did pass 15 hours in the lab each week but was because I did not had made the 056 course, however, After be in her class I'm prepare for what comes next.A

Prof Lawrence is awesome! I've taken this class before and failed after taking it with Professor Yu (ONLY TAKE HER CLASSES IF YOU SPEAK HER LANGUAGE-WHICH IS NOT ENGLISH!!) and I've never learned so much in one semester! Prof Lawrence is strict, yes, but she is also understanding and forgiving if you're doing what your supposed to be doing.

I disagree with the majority. I took her class MAT 206 (Pre-Calculus) in the summer and we did a lot of work in 6 weeks and I learned a tremendous amount in that short time. She is friendly, very smart, and strict. If you are serious about your education you will appreciate her class. Her class is worth the investment. Don't be scared she's cool!

AMAZING!!!! This professor helps her students tremendously! She is just fair, prepared and ready to answer questions at all time... Make sure you are in class, do your homework and dont ask the question that another person asked 2 seconds ago and you will be fine.

If you are good at math and you can't understand why others (with their silly questions) "just dont get it" then take her; as that is basically her attitude. But if you barely made it out of 056, or are a slow math learner, take someone else.

You will need to work a little for your grade. If you are ok at math you will have no problem understanding her and doing well in her class. She is a very clear when she teaches, probably the clearest professor I had. I recommened taking her. By the way these people trashing her probably wanted a great grade with no work to show for it.

Professor Lawrence was a pleasure to have as a teacher! She is very understanding and is always willing to repeat. She encourages questions and offers outside help. Shes concerned about her students and always compassionate. I'd recommend her always! She's wonderful.

GREAT TEACHER, I GOT a 'C', BUT I DIDNT WORK MY HARDEST, I should have ACED or got a B. I've Aced Calc 1,2,3, and she was a great challenge in MAT501, DiffEQ. I underestimated her, and she is definitely a great teacher. She only gives A's to students that work hard, do all HW and Ace exams. She writes so much, and tells you what will be on the exam

Took Dr. Lawrence for Calculus II. Here's the deal: She knows everything there is to know about calculus. Do the homeworks - they come in handy. Come to every class, pay attention. Dr. Lawrence will answer any and every question - she has office hours. After you take her first 4 tests, the final is a lot easier. Show respect and you'll get it.

she is very hard but she explains things very well, and she helps the students to understand the material in every detail. She cares about whether you will learn the math more than just give you A and kiss your ass. And I believe that is the way you can improve yourself.

She's clear, concise, can hone in on mistakes and teach you why, not just how, you went wrong. Caveat, this prof has a military background and it shows. Her presence demands discipline and active participation, but she's no drill sargeant. Don't be the fool that keeps quiet all class long, doesn't take notes and then wants to ask a dozen questions.

Professor Lawrence was an amazing professor. Considering the lack of quality in BMCC's student body it's not surprising that she's drawn so many people's ire. Her class is hard, her homework is hard, her tests are massively difficult but if you get through it you will feel wholly accomplished. I fought for my B, and I'm proud of it.

Everyone says she's tough. She is, but you learn with her. Just do her homework (she goes over it).

If you're taking her, you'll get into trouble if you don't do your home works. Just follow what she tells you to do. She really knows what she is talking about. Whatever she talks about in class is important, so you better take note of every possible thing. You wanna learn something, take her class. You wont regret it.

She is strict but fair. In her class, you have to practice many problems same as homework. However, the more practice, the more help, isn't it? Come to class, take the note, and do the homework, you will learn a lot from her.

She's an amazing calculus professor, but be sure that you know all of your math entering her class. She is very rude to students who ask questions not relating to the course level.

A very nice professor. She helped me with late registration . She gave correct answers when giving back homeworks. She also gave extra credits on each exams.

Look come in and be prepared,do the homework,practice the book problems,pass her exams with 75 and above,do all your homework,participate,easy A,yeah her tests are tricky but that's a test to see if you really did study,if you didn't than thats on you not on her,its not just classroom practice and homework practice,its practice on your own

Integral Calculus is a very dense course and you must be study and practice all the time to ace the class. The process of Professor Lawrence's class is excruciating but fulfilling at the end. Do your homework, go to the matlab, have a study group, review precalc, and ask questions when you're unsure. Don't underestimate her tests #MyMistakeIRegret

If you are math major at BMCC or heading to STEM degree at a four year CUNY school professor Lawrence will prepare you well. The tests are tough but fair, if you attend lecture focused, do your homework, study her corrections and your notes you will pass. This is what a holistic calculus course is supposed to be like. She is a step above BMCC

She is a excellent inspirational professor. She will teach u everything in details, she cover every topics. She has a deep knowledge about calculus. If you want to learn calculus this is the class for you. If you do all the homework your exam will be easy. if you don't like math and don't like to do a lot of work then this is not for you.

She a tough Math Professor but if you attend classes and listen to her lectures properly and do you homework, you'll get a good grade. If you're lazy you'll fail, I'm letting you know right now.

She is a good Professor and she lectures very well. Though sometimes she doesn't properly explain the concepts and where they come from but this is a college class and it's not her job to spoon-feed grown ups. Regardless, she is very good and very professional.

Most difficult professor Ive taken. However, if youre a stem major, do take her. She emphasizes independence and you are responsible for essentially teaching yourself the material, which I wasnt particularly against. If your math fundamentals arent there, you wont do well. She wont hold your hand. Only issue: reluctant to help, send u 2 tutor

I read all the comments here before signing up for the challenge. I really wanted to know if I was cut out to be a STEM Major and I guess that is now settled. I'm ready to do Math work with Professor at any school and that is thanks to Dr. Lawrence. Columbia School of Engineering, get ready for me!
