This teacher is the best teacher I have ever had.

This is one of the best teachers that I have ever had. She is extremely helpful and is quick to reward hard work! She inspired me to continue French into the second level!!! I LUV, YA Bateman!

She was very animated. She helped a lot and is just wonderful, gives lots of extra credit for students who have been getting bad grades. Loved madame Bateman.

I LOVE MME BATEMAN! This is my 4th semester with her. I refuse to take anyone else. She is the most dedicated teacher I have ever had and loves her students. Class is always interesting and fun. Wish there were more classes that I could take with her but I'm at the end of the road!

Madame Bateman is an excellent professor. Her teaching style is a prime example of how a foreign language should be taught. I felt as though I was studying in Montreal again. Some of her assignments can be challenging, but she makes them fun.Your able to explore your own indiviuality and creativity.

She is so cool. She makes the class fun, and she grades everything so easy. She has party in her class sometimes. If you make 95 or higher, you don't have to take the final. How cool it that?

Ms. Bateman, is a very fair teacher.She makes class very interesting and uses different ways of teaching so that no matter how you learn best shes got you covered. When I took this class I took it because I had to, now I love French and want to learn to speak as my second language. Take Ms. B you will be glad you did.

I think it is not easy but she makes it seem easy because it is not boring and she explains things well. You can learn a lot if you study and practice!

She is a very interesting teacher full of energy, even in the morning when all are half asleep. Her test are not hard if you study. The only thing is that she will ocassionally give pop quizzes and if you came late and missed it, you cant do them, apart from that she is a BLAST and so fun a little flirty but I HIGHLY RECOMMEND HER! You really learn

Loved this class! Prof. Bateman was awesome. Always happy, always entertaining! There is no way you could fall asleep from boredom in this class she's just too much fun! I definitely recommend it!

Ms. Bateman is really a sweet woman. I am not a fan of French but the class is cake. My pronunciation is HORRID and I made a B. She can come off as a bit scatter-brained, but I am as well. Always willing to help you and you can tell she is in love with French culture. Would recommend to anyone.

This is the professor you want to teach you French. It is probably as close to learning the language in France as you'll get. She has so many online links that a person would absolutely have to NOT try to learn French, in order to fail this class. She is the best of the best!!! I love her!!

Took her online class and she is GREAT! Very nice lady, and really wants to make sure you learn as much as you can, she's not hard at all, pretty easy class and by the end of the semeser you will know a lot if you practice it. I recommend her 100% anyone interested in french shoud def. take her as an instructor

This is 1 class I actually looked forward too. Ms. Bateman is fun, energetic, and she keeps things interesting. You should always go to class because she has a lot of pop quizzes. Her tests are a little tough sometimes but not too bad if you study. She's great. If you are deciding between two different professors, go with her, you won't regret it.

Madame Bateman is a really nice professor. Show up and try and you will do fine. We do alot of fun in class practice and role playing so be prepared to be called on. Don't forget to do ALL the workbook and the extra credit...it rocketed my grade up to an A.

I LOVE Mrs. Bateman!!! she was so helpful, I was a complete IDIOT when it came to speaking french, and the only language I ever knew fluently was english and now I can write paragraphs in french!!! You wont regret taking her, she is WONDERFULL!!!!!!

Madame Bateman is fantastic. She's SO enthusiastic about French, and although her teaching style isn't very structured, it's extremely engaging. She did interactive class activities like singing, playing games, contests, and even doing the hokie pokie. :) Her class is a little hard, but she'll help you get through it. Overall, a fun-loving teacher

I took her online 1001 class, and although it is difficult to do a language online, she is so helpful. As long as you do the work, you'll come out on top. She gives you extra credit opportunities and doesn't start ignoring the class later in the semester. She also drops an oral and written assignment. She lets you write a critique to replace a quiz

Professor Bateman is the best French instructor you could ask for! I thoroughly enjoyed her classes, and she has been so helpful in my learning of the french language. Class participation is highly encouraged, so if your a downer, take someone else's class!

She was one of my favorite french teachers i ever had! She's kind and always happy, but has no mercy for making up tests or quizes if you miss a single day and takes points off your final grade for every day you miss after you miss two or three.

Mme Bateman is a sweet teacher and her classes are always interesting DO NOT MISS CLASS!!! Assignments and test are not able to be made up but there are opportunities for extra credit.

Madame Bateman is the best! Her classes are very laid back and she is always willing to help you understand. You watch a lot of french movies and videos that will give you and appreciation for french culture. TAKE HER CLASS. She drops the lowest test grades and gives study guides for each test. I had her for both 1001 and 1002.

I took this class online. I'm not good in french and I was able to pass this class. Test is the hardest part but if you keep your study guide close and review it you should be fine and pass with an A/B for quizzes. Participation does matter but overall if you do the work she will grade you for completing. Not the worst class.

if you are knew to the french language Mrs. Batemans class is perfect. she does have a funny candadian accent! if you are looking for higher level french take a higher class , it is very basic but well explained with the online textbook. Mrs. Bateman is a nice lady that acknowledges your work.

Just an honest review ladies and gentlemen. I missed the first week of classes due to the death of a parent, i had to work my bu*t off to get the A, but i still missed it at the end by 13 points. I emailed the professor telling her about my situation and she LITERALLY didn't take any points away from all of her students for the syllabus quiz for me

This Instructor answered all my questions and was very helpful. I liked the assignments that made me see I could really write and speak in French ! She is strict on deadlines but otherwise very cool if you try to do your best.

She's super nice. She goes exactly along with the schedule which she posts in the syllabus. Clear grading criteria makes it easy to get a 100. There's extra credit at the end of the semester that's super easy to do. Quizzes, midterm, & final are all straightforward and she gives a study guide for final. Not a lot of time to test so know your stuff.

The class overall was not too difficult. Each "lesson" was only a few pages, and there weren't too many of them. Assignments were fairly straightforward, and many were graded on completion. Pronunciation assignments are short and if you rehearse your lines a few times, you should be fine. I didn't really feel like I learned much.

Loved the Humanities class ! Well organized and interesting stuff.

Madame Bateman helped me pass French. The chapters are not too long. She gives short recordings and writings and a quiz for each chapter. Study the chapters and you can learn alot if you watch the videos too.

Overall the class is ok. It was easy but I don't feel like I learned much. I think her class would be better in person. She only expects work at a beginner level. You will receive a 0 on the assignment if you use any vocabulary that was not taught in class. There are 10 quizzes 2 writing assignments and 3 oral assignments. No midterm and no final.

I dual enrolled this class. I didn't like her too much in the beginning, but warmed up to her style pretty quickly. She's very nice but honestly has such a low bar for this class even if it is beginning-level French. For the writing assignments she literally asked us to use ChatGPT on it... Makes my life easier but I'm not sure how I'm learning??

Pretty good professor, but I don't think I learned much. 6 Quizzes, 6 Oral Assignments, 4 Writing Assessments, and a Final. The learning resources exist, but it's not super organized--everything only feels loosely connected, which probably isn't great for an intro class. This class probably isn't the best way to learn French, but it's pretty easy.
