gives clear definitions before each lesson, explains things clearly for assignment, willing to work with you WHEN you do your part :)

She is a good teacher and explains things in simple terms. If you hardly show up or make excuses all the time then she has very little sympathy for you. If you apply yourself, she is the most helpful teacher!

She is a little different. She tries to know everyone and wants everyone to succeed. However, she hates it when people ask questions.

I thought Barbara Biggs was a good teacher. True, she can (and does) get annoyed with certain students and questions, but overall I thought she was fair and helpful. I'd take another math class from her.

She is a very laid back teacher. She drops one of your test scores and lets you turn in homework late. She also drops 3 quiz scores and 3 homework scores. She also offers a lot of extra credit

She is a good teacher she does need to have more patience with her students. I felt I already learned all of what she taught in math 990 but that is not her fault it is UVSC's

She is a pretty good teacher. She isn't always clear though. In my class she doesn't do any test reviews. In my previous math classes, I have always found reviews very helpful. But overall she is a good teacher.

She is lacking in the social skills department and would really belittle and disparage students who asked questions..but she didn't seem to realize she was doing so. She was helpful and made math easy. Just needs some polishing in the social department then she'd be a great teacher.

She knows her stuff and can explain it in simple terms. She doesn't expect anything out of the ordinary. Papers on time--oh my!

These other people writing bad things on Ms. Biggs are ridiculous. She is a great teacher and does everything to help you. Just like every class you need to attend it. She does test corrections on every test which makes it easy to at the least get a B on every test. She would even let people take a test after they missed it in the testing center.

I have no idea how a lot of people hate her so much. None of you have taken a class from a bad professor apparently. She is the best math teacher I have ever had in term of learning. Class is pretty easy, just go to class pay attention and do the homework. You will get at least a B+ if you do those things, and thats if you are bad at math.

Go to class! She gives quizzes in class and all together they are worth just as much as the midterm. Study the section you are going to be learning before class and do your homework. If you do this you will do great.

This was the best math class that i have ever taken! Barbra was there to answer all my questions and to help me with any problems that i had. If you go to class pay attention and do the homework it will be an easy A.

Ms. Biggs is a fair and honest teacher. She is not as hard as her reviews make her sound. I would prefer to take my other math classes from her. The only students in our class who have a problem with her are the ones who didn't come to class, and didn't do well on tests. I recommend her, but come to class and study, after all it is math!

Really was willing to let us come to her office to work with her one on one.

Miss Biggs wants her students to pass her class. She offered extra credit and was very fair in her grading of the tests. I thought she was harsh the first week of class, but after a couple of weeks I felt more comfortable in class. If you are committed to learning, she is committed to helping you. She is a good teacher, follow her rules and study.

She's rought around the edges for sure, but she is very good at explaining things and is always willing to go over things again. She offers extra credit, too, which helped me get the best grade in the class even though I suck at math. She'll challenge you, but she'll also help you a lot. Ignore her roughness, though. It's not personal.

She uses examples to help use learn the material. Sometimes we work in groups to help each other with problems we are having. She will use her office hours to help you with question you have about class. She post notes on blackboard so if you miss a class you can catch up on missed material. I thnik she's a great teacher.

Get past her being rough around the edges. she cares about your success. She gives many ways to improve your grade and test scores. She also gives extra credit on tests and coupons that you can redeem for missed answers on tests. She can be rude, but is an excellent teacher.

Miss Biggs is an INCREDIBLE teacher!She takes time to answer questions,and cares about each student's success.I was never afraid to ask questions,never afraid to comment.She had a test for every chapter, and there are homework assignments due everyday.She uses MyMathLab for those assignments.She may be a little tough,but she was a great teacher!

She can be ruff on the outside but see cares about you getting a good grade if you put forth the effort

I feel I hit the lottery when I chose Ms.Biggs as my math instructor.Barbara did everything she could to help us to learn.She gave extra incentives,used visual aids,and our final was taken in class with the ability to ask"yes/no"questions during the exam!She's a little rough around the edges,but don't take it personally. She's GREAT! Really cares!

Great class. I had to work everyday on quizzes but it kept me up to date. Really liked the group activities - I didn't fall asleep those days. I feel I am ready for the next class.

Show up, do the homework and there's no way you won't pass. If you have questions make sure they are extremely clear because she to likes to scrutinize unclear or vague questions which makes her come across as rude but she's just trying to get to the root of what you're confused about. She gives lots of ways to raise your test scores too.

Great Teacher! Straight forward, cares about you and teaches skills you can use in all classes. She wants you to work hard so you understand. You have homework, quizzes and tests. The class moves quickly. I enjoyed being in her class very much. She will work with you! Great Lady! I did well and I'm a single mom with 4 boys and a full load.

Barbara is awesome! I'm glad I got her as a teacher. She made class fun. She also searched for ways of explaining to her students that would make sense to them. She was open to suggestions and corrections. You have to come to class to understand, or you would get lost understandably, it college level math after all... :-)

she is really mean at first but it gets a lot better! hang in there and you will begin to like her!

She is not much to look at but she really wants you to learn. It was great when all but 6 of us came to class and we really got personal attention. Do your homework, come to class with questions, pay attention and this class is easily passable. The math is hard but not due to the professor.

She is what she is. Can come off rude and abraisive. If you go to class prepared with questions you'll be fine. VERY easy if you do your homework. I feel she can pick favotites but still is fair to others.

Barbara does not have patient with students that have difficulty understanding concepts. She diminish people in class, but she has her good days. She cares though, and tries to help you her way, but can't handle students that struggle. This class is for faster learners, and students that have strong self esteem.

She explains really well and takes extra time if you need it. Don't bring loud food to her class like corn nuts. If you show up to er class with question and you do your homework, which is really easy by the way, you'l do great in her class.

She does use a lot of online material ESPECIALLY with My Math Lab. She is a good teacher her test are REALLY easy. Her course is easy, attendance required, book optional. She really is fine just don't be disrespectful or disruptive thats one of her pet peve's. Overall though she is a good teacher!!!

I thought she was great. I learned to manage my time better because of the PLP but there are a million surveys. She uses lots of group activities and was always willing to help. I liked her a lot.

I got to work as fast as I wanted and completed the class in half the time. She was great to help me whenever I had a question. I would recommend her to anyone...)

We just took the best test, first we got to do it by alone and then we took it in our teams. I understood every problem when we were done. This is such a great way to be taught. I recommend you take this teacher.

Best teacher I have ever had for math. She knows her stuff and expects the students to also learn it. I met with her many times in her office and in the math lab. I recommend you take her.

Fantastic teacher. So helpful and fun. Always willing to be helpful. Needs a raise for all she prepared for us. Gives candy for answers.

One of the greatest math teachers. Teaches with clarity, available after class, will go out of her way to help you out.

She cares a lot about every student's learning so she makes you do all the homework and she grades it. She also makes you do classwork. Botton line, she makes you work a lot but you will learn and end up with a grade higher then you expected.

That last student is way wrong. Miss Biggs cared enough about our class that she set up us up in teams. If you didn't come to class you were letting down your team because you did a lot of discussion on how to do problems with the team. Even when you came late you were being disrespectful to your team. Take this class you'll learn a lot.

I learned more in this class than I ever learned in high school. Best teacher ever.

I now have math friends because of my team. Not only did Miss Biggs teach well, she taught us to learn. Be sure to come to class prepared so that you will get the most out of it.

This class was so fast that I learned early to keep up with the homework. There was a lot of work to do but it was worth. First A in a math class. Barbara is a great teacher.

Good class. I was able to take both 950 and 990 in the summer and did well in both of them. Miss Biggs helped me get down the basics.

Best group experience I have ever had. Because I got to talk to my group about how I did the problems. She does teach what you don't know and lets you remember what you already knew. I loved the groups.

GREAT TEACHER. I like working with others and doing some of the teaching myself. Professor Biggs asks us to find the definitions in the book so as not to waste class time. When I came to class having read the material to be covered, it was so easy.

Great teacher, but not easy. Do your work, come to class prepared for the lesson, and she will help you learn the stuff you are struggling with.

Barbara was great, I loved her class she was very clear in teaching & would go out of her way to teach different ways if you weren't understanding. Because of her I was able to understand math and was able to get an A on math 1050 when I took it the following semester. You have to go to class & be there on time. Highly recommend her.
