There is a lot of assigned reading and you have to write about it for the final, so it is important that you do it throughout the semester. She's fantastic, not too hard. Take notes on the class discussion!! She split us into groups every class to answer questions about the reading; there's a lot, but usually a skim is sufficient since you have class time to review your section. Takes a while to grade but gives very detailed/helpful feedback. 2 essays (10% each), 2 tests, and a final.

You are basically paying to be in a very boring book club. In a 50 minute class we usually spend the first 40 minutes doing roll call, getting into groups, and answering discussion questions only among the students. I wish she would just teach us without the pointless group discussions among other students.
