I absolutely love Barbra...she knows what she's doing and obvoiusly loves her job...she grades really fairly [based on improvement in speeches, not just the speech itself] and explains everything very clearly...hilarious lady who wears lots of purple.

She one of the best teachers at OCC! Class was filled with activities, which was fun. You get to meet and learn about other peoples personal feelings/experience. Very easy A! Bascially just do what she says (barely any hw). Accepts late work all the time, expect for the last project (only one big project)... Inshort, i HIGHLY RECOMMEND =)

What can I say that hasn't already been said? I've been at this school for four years and Barbara has to be my favorite teacher there. Personable, funny, wise, caring, intelligent, open-minded... she is one of the very few who will actually see someone as a person and not something filling a seat. And yes, it's true that her classes do change your life for the better.

For the first few weeks of the class I didn't like her and was worried about not being able to remember my classmates names, but I stuck the class out and boy am I glad I did! Very fair, and keeps class interesting... IF you want an A+ just present your speech first. Everyone who gives their speech on the first day gets graded the easiest.

If you're debating whether to take Kat Carrol or Bullard for INTER Commun, take Barbara; I have Kat this year & she's also a great teacher, but you will walk away with more from Barbara's class. The more you put into the class, the more you'll get from it; if you're a slacker at the end you can do a couple of projects to get a B..

You really walk away from this class feeling lk you know EVERYONE extremely well (sometimes it almost feels like therapy, but in a remarkable way!). Having Barbara for public speaking was very different. I was so use to her speaking and now the shoe was on the other foot. She taught us so much. I already had my speaking voice she told me and that my movements and facial expression was right on point. She is my Inspirition; Barbara is amazing! Im glad that I had her as a instructor!

Disclaimer:This is the first college course I have ever taken. That out of the way, I had no expectations of what to expect either way. Bottom line, if all of college was similar to what I experienced I would enjoy every day of school.She was challenging but worth ever bit of it. This class has left an impression on me. Grade-wise, it's an easy A. But take it because it's a really special class. Everyone should take one of her classes.

This class really opens you up to exploring yourself and others' personality types. This is what helps you to really learn how to communicate effectively. I did take it in conjunction with COM105, which delves more into the self. Not sure which was so life changing, but my significant other says I blossomed into an even more beautiful person.

Public speaking was my biggest fear prior to this class. I am not geared up to be an inspirational speaking for a living, but I can definitely conquer the occasional speech for work or class. Take 105! It will change your perspective on so much. Only take it if you are open minded. If not, you will not like the class. Barbara helps you find yourself in this chaotic world. We did everything from meditations, healings, becoming self-aware, etc. Very spiritual class. Do the HW and the projects early to avoid doing work at the end. Easy A!

This class is tough but it is really worth it. This is the second class that I took with Barbara. She is amazing at what she does. Public speaking is her gift and she just hands it out to her students. If you work hard, you can achieve the grade--but if you work hard and give yourself the chance to learn from her, it will change your life!

I was nervous for a public speaking class (I'm shy), but this ended up being my favorite class so far at OCC. Barbara is one of the most hilarious yet informative teachers you could have. She gives good feedback so you can improve for the following speech. You will learn a lot about yourself, others, and current events in an fun way.

This review is long overdue. I had Barbara for two classes. I needed 100 for credit, but took 105 because she is AMAZING! Other people said her classes were life changing and I never truly understood it until I took a class with her. If you desire to learn valuable things you can actually apply to your life then take a class with her!

Changed my life. Her lectures are amazing and she is hilarious. She welcomes anyone and wants you to succeed in everything you put your mind to. Her energy is one you always want be to be around. You also get to know everyone in your class on a personal level, it's awesome. Don't be judgmental, be open-minded. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED. I LOVE HER!

Barbara has made the greatest impact on my life any teacher ever has. Her funny, POSITIVE, and purple personality is contagious. Today was the last day of class and i felt my self not wanting to leave. Another great personality trait is that she is the funniest teacher I've ever had.

Barbara Bullard knows her stuff. She gives good feedback, is inspirational, hilarious, and there for you. She really knows her stuff. Be sure to get to class on time. There is homework and some papers to write, but it is all very doable.

Barbara is the absolute best. She is an incredible professor, individual, and fellow human. If you want to take a class that you genuinely look forward to, learn an abundance (about yourself and the world that we live in), and progress as a student and individual, I highly recommend any of her's. One of the few professors left that truly care about the students and want what's best for them. Probably the most amazing and life changing class I've ever taken. I highly recommend taking Barbara for public speaking. She is so full of life and is really passionate about what she teaches. I'm halfway through the course and I love it. She offers PLENTY of extra credit, and the class has that "family" feeling. Good grader, funny, blunt, one-minded, and overall a great woman!

Professor Bullard is a mix between the compassion of the Pope, the dynamics of Lady Gaga, the charisma of Michelle Obama and she reminds me of Shirley McClane. Hands down one of the most memorable professors and classes I have taken at OCC. Professors of this quality are RARE at a community college. At the end of the semester the classroom genuinely felt like a family, and I'm the least mushiest person you'll find; we all had lunch together on the last day and it was really awesome.

Taking Barbara's class will change your life!

Prof. Bullard is a pro at reading personality types, and no introvert was safe from being pushed out of their comfort zone. It was so refreshing to come to a class where I got to share and hear fellow students open up. It felt like group therapy, and nobody came out the same. The final projects were very intense, but it was worth taking this class.

Not only the best teacher I've ever had, but one of the best people I've ever met. She is the first professor since grade school that has actively made me want to attend class. In 16 weeks, she changed the way I've seen myself for the past 10 years. As for the class, she makes everything required very clear and if you do the reading, you'll pass.

There are not enough good things to be said about this professor. Public speaking is every person's greatest fear but she creates an environment where that becomes an attainable feat for even the most shy students. You learn how to put thd best of you out there which is a great life skill I'll carry with me. It's also a great form of therapy XD
