Easy C average, just get the study guide and take the test. I never even went to class once. If you study from the book and lecture and the study guide you get an A for sure!

she is a very nice person. test are kinda hard but she give out study guides. her study guides are very helpful. And go to class everyday because her lectures will help with the test. Got a B in the class. expect lot of reading.

Must be easy-I had 8am class so never went, am not good at science, never did study guides or read, and still got a B in the class. Tests are hard, she likes to put similiar answers as choices on same question to fool you. Maybe I'm a good test-taker...

Boring class, either study on your own and don't show up for class or don't buy the book and show up for class. I had a 8am class so i was falling asleep half the time.

She is a great teacher but dont take her so early in the morning you will fall asleep. She gives out study guides for the tests and gives you hints in class. Her tests are hard but you learn alot in this class i would recommend her to anyone

The class is biology, so its boring. But shes not too bad. She is nice, and laughs at her own jokes. The class is pretty easy.

I loved this class! I thought she was a very easy and a very sweet lady. The powerpoints were put online and come straight from the book. If you attend class, you get 30 points of extra credit which boosts up alot. I totally recommend her!!

I think she is a great Biology teacher. She tells lots of jokes but there not always funny. She at least tries to make the class interesting, but honestly how interesting can biology be. I think she make biology easy. She is also very fair when it comes to grading.

She does make a lot of sex jokes, ew. For the most part, she's ok. Show up to class everyday because she gives random extra credit, and that adds up at the end. I always recieved Cs on the tests, but work hard on the papers, they're easy, and you can get bring up your grade with them.

Gives notes with powerpoint - offers fill in the blank print outs. Keeps class interesting. Instructs very clearly. Can get a ton of extra credit by just showing (so go every day). Tests are curved and are moderately difficult (study well). The two papers are the hardest because they are graded by graduates, not her. Good class. Got an A+.

She is a GREAT professor. I wasn't too much interested in Biology, but she makes it seem fun. She really knows her stuff, and she isn't too hard. She shares silly jokes and stories that might help you remember the material. Follow her powerpoints its helpful than the book.

Loved her.. She's so sweet. Laughs at all her own jokes. Makes bio understandable--and fun. Recommend her to everyone!! Study her study guides and you'll do fine. Oh-- she give pop quizzes, so be in class and be prepared. I got an A and you can TOO!! =)

I would recomend her. She really helps you to pass the class. Study for the test but don't be afraid because you'll take a group test and that will bring your scores up alot. She is very aprochable and responds to e-mails very fast. She's very good at posting grades on blackboard so you'll know your progress immediately.

Professor Hanlon is a really sweet lady. I was completely scared to take this class, but she made it really understandable. The tests were not too hard and you get to take a group test too each time. Brings up your grade a lot. She loves what she teaches, and it shows. She makes you understand the stuff. If you study, you'll do great!

Somewhat of a hard class for non-biology majors. However, I did take this class in summer, so it may be easier during the Fall or Spring session. Make sure you get to know people in the class because there will be tons of groups activities.

Tough class, but she was very helpful. Exams, take one on your own and 2nd portion with a group of 4 or 5 (this definetely bumps your grade up).

one of the easiest classes I've ever taken. 325 total points. if you go to class, fill in the blanks in the powerpoint presentations, and study them and read the book the night before the test, you should have no problem on them. Only problem might be the two papers, but you can make those up with the 30 points extra credit. Easy class, got 364/325

SHE IS THE BEST TEACHER YOU CAN EVER HAVE FOR BIOLOGY 101. GIVES LOTS OF EXTRA CREDIT POINTS, TESTS ARE OK, READ THE BOOK INSTEAD OF THE POWERPOINT, MAKE SURE U READ THE DIAGRAMS IN THE BOOK. 3 ESSAYS BE CAREFUL DO NOT COPY THEM. SHE IS THE BEST.

Absurdly easy if you show up and take some notes. Don't bother reading/buying the textbook, just get the powerpoint slides pay attention. It's not all that hard to skate by with an A, or if you try an A+ or above since she gives out lots of extra credit and with each test you can get extra credit.

Great instructor!! She lectures very well. If you attend class and read some, you'll do great! Pop quizzes get tiresome but they up your great a lot if you do well. Easy A or B. I feel bad that she has to teach a BIO 101 class. Yikes!

she is the sweetest teacher ever, really understanding and is there to help. use the cd that came with the book she uses the same questions. attendence is not necessary but be aware of upcoming extra credit bc they really help.

Attendance is not mandatory, but it helps a lot. She offers extra credit in class, and the class really was rather interesting. She is funny and really nice and if you ask her for help, she is willing to help. The first day she is a little intimidating, but she is so sweet. But you do need to study for the tests to do well.

this class was easy.. i went to class about half of the time and i passed with an A. and professor hanlon was really interesting to listen to because she was really humorous and you get a good laugh from attending her class. i would definately recommend her if you want to actually learn the subject matter because she explains it pretty clearly.

This class double counts for CHAD majors. Take Hanlon cuz she's super helpfull. She curves all exams & final grades!!!! She lets you work in groups for all pop qizzes. For her exams you definately need to study though. I don't read, just show up & study for exams and I get B's. Oh and she has 2 papers where you have to use turnitin.com.

Very nice and interesting lady. Always kept class entertained with her blunt jokes. Test are kind of hard so study, I never did but still got a B+. Grades on a low scale (A's >88%). Attendance is not manditory but recommended, notes are VERY helpful (I never had to use the book) and she offers in class extra credit. Would DEFINATELY recommend!

very easy. lectures consist of filling in blanks on power points that she makes your print out. there are 2 hw assignments that are super easy and 2 papers that are also easy. she gives a total of 30pt extra credit towards the end of the semester.

Biology is difficult but since she graded on a curve it helped a lot. She gives up to 30 points extra credit which is extremely beneficial. I recommend this class, especially if you don't like bio.

Her tests are tough I gotta say. I used to CD (that came with the book) alot to study, and some of the question's were on the test. She does give 30 extra credit points, randomly though, and you must be there in class. there is 2 research papers, which are very important so do them. never takes roll, alot of people never showed up. GOOD CLASS!=)

Not easy, but attendance isn't mandatory. If you can outline chapters, fill out study guides (devote a few days prior to test), type out two easy homeworks and papers, then take this class. I went to class 6 times the entire semester and got a B in the class. No complaints other than class being a complete waste of time.

she tries hard to entertain the class with her odd jokes, but it made me smile at least...esp. since I had and have no interest in Bio..I complained the most about the exams because I consistently got the same grades (C's with the curve)...in the end however, I managed to get an A- with the extra credit quiz points & a good score on a paper.

Attendance not recorded and not mandatory. If you do attend you can take the quizzes for extra credit. If you read the textbook you'll pass. Take notes if you want to ensure a higher grade, power point slides provided on blackboard for printout and write on. She's a nice lady! Note: She uses other graders for homework/paper work.

Well biology isn't an easy subject in general, so to bash her as a person because her class is a little tough is just ridiculous. She does say on the first day of class it will require some work. Class VERY doable if you do put in some time. More than fair grading. She is very funny, helpful, approachable, and knowledgeable. I HIGHLY recommend her!

She is a cutie. She actually enjoys her job- i think. She makes the class pleasant even while your talking about **** and mitochondrias. The tests are tough - so STUDY, the writing assiangments are a bummer too. I am a junior ENglish major and got a "c" on the writing assiagnment. - broke my heart (but she didnt grade it). Take her, she is nice.

I could count on one hand how many times I went to class, and I still got a B+. You absolutely have to study for tests.. and even still, the study guides are frustrating because she includes a lot of crap not on the test, and excludes crap that magically appear on the test. Writing assignments were EASY, and she gives out tons of extra credit.

I would definitely recommend taking her class (since it's mandatory anyway). She is a very pleasant person to listen to for an hr & 15 mins. She puts up everything on blackboard so you always know whats going on & all the study guides including the Final study guide are posted from the first day of class. If you study its easy!

Great teacher. Kept it interesting. I did use the book and i did need to study. The power points cover part of what is in the book. Group quizzes, writing projects that are graded by grad students, but the papers are pretty easy. Recommended.

I love her! She makes the class 100 times more interesting than it really is, and will go over things as many times as you need her to. Gave 5 pts extra credit randomly once for showing up, so go to class! Offered eBook for just the required chapters for $20. Made my life easier. Definitely take her! Best professor for a subject I used to hate.

Hanlon is an extremely passionate, intriguing and kind professor. She makes it very possible for you to pass this class (Extra Credit Points, Writing Assignments, 5% Curve). I got mostly C's and D's on my tests, but I still managed to get a B-. I've never been too fond of Biology, but she makes it an enjoyable experience. Highly recommended!

Definitely a very helpful professor! The class is easy if you actually read the textbook, take notes, and go to lecture. She is very helpful and explains everything so well! If you don't attend lecture, this class will probably be difficult. Study for those tests!!!

1) She's kinda funny, looks like Tina Fey ha; 2) though class is beyond boring, she's really nice; 3) no HW, only 2 papers which are easy but time consuming; 4) sometimes pop quiz but extra credit; 5) tries to make class fun, but again subject just sucks. CONCLUSION: if you need to take BIO [101 at least], take it with her, boring but easy.

Hanlon is one of those teachers that prides herself in being hard, when in reality the class is pretty easy to pass. There are two GE required essays, 4 exams, and a bunch of extra credit. The exams are extremely difficult and she does not give a study guide, so study all main topics in every chapter. Buy the ebook for 20 bucks and your golden.

If you read the book you do well on the tests. She just reads power points made from the company of the book and she does not take attendance so no need to go to class. Her grading scale is altered so it's easier to pass. Probably the easiest class to pass bio with. Just read the chapters and you should be fine.

Papers graded by grad students because the department says so, but the tests are difficult. However, I read all the chapters and did pretty well :) If you HAVE to take Bio101, TAKE HER!!! Professor is quite funny, she cracks herself up. Her powerpoints are very concise, you do not need to take in depth notes, make sure to take your own notes from the book and do the quizzes online. She will give a code for online book, just the chapter she will be going over its $20. 2 essays. Not such a easy class, but she curved. TAKE HER!

Attendance isn't mandatory but you really should to go for xtra credit. 2 essays, 5 pgs weren't hard. 4 tests are only difficult if you don't read the book. I didn't pay attention to the pwrpoints and read only the book and I was fine. If I went to class and got the xtra credit I wouldve gotten an A :( getting an A is totally do-able

Go to class because she gives extra credit opportunities. There are also 2 really easy writing assignments. There are 4 test and you MUST read the book in order to do well. Her lectures are barely an overview of the material and the online website she recommends for studying are useless. If you read the book you can get an A.

not an easy class but she gives out tons of extra credit, the percentages are weighted, and she curves the tests. i barely got cs on my tests but did well on the essays and got some extra credit and got a b+. tests are extremely difficult and studying for them seemed impossible but get the extra credit and get a good essay grade and you will pass.

Tests were very difficult! Im an A student and averaged a 65% on her exams. However she is funny, helpful and overall great professor!! Use the website for the book to study, and she offers a lot of easy extra credit so attend class. I got a B in the end :)

READ. Professor Hanlon seems like a very nice women, but her lectures can be a bit dull. If you read the book word for word there is no way you cannot get an A in the class. I got an A+ simply because I made sure to read and attend class every day to collect the extra credit.

I didn't study or pay attention to this entire class, just spent most of the day on my laptop using Facebook or something similar yet I was still able to pass the class with a B. If you run through the Powerpoints right before the test, you can get most of the information, and most of her tests are common sense. Plus she's comical. Would take again

Compared to teachers friends have had, Hanlon is the way to go! 4 exams, 1 paper and she gives 20 points extra credit. She does go off power points, bit boring. Exams are curved! Final is NOT cumulative and she's just hilarious. Recommended.

I only attended class in case she gave out extra credit. Other than that, just review the chapters in the text book before exam dates and you will be good. She had her moments in class when she was funny. Don't let her scare you into dropping the class. It is not hard at all.

This class is very hard if you are not great at bio. If you are expecting an easy A then do NOT take Hanlon. Make sure to get bioportal and take the quizes. If it wasn't for the quizes then i would have failed the class. It helped out ALOT. Some of the test questions were even from there. Hanlon is very funny she makes class slightly interesting.

Let me tell you, these people complaining that class is too hard because you fail to take Hanlon's advice to READ and do BIOPORTAL, this is college, you aren't paying for an easy ride. If you want a good grade in this class, you NEED to purchase BIOPORTAL! The ones who are complaining about her sounds like they didn't take her advice from the first day. I did & I was able to get a good grade. Had an A- before the final, got a B+ as a final grade. She's cool and funny. BIOPORTAL will save you when you take the exams. Take her!

She is a very sweet lady but her teaching style is quite boring. She lectures with half the lights on with powerpoint and the powerpoint is consisted of pictures taken directly from the book. With that, attendance is not mandatory because the powerpoint is online or read the book yourself. DO PREP U if you want an A or to pass. PREP U will help.

she is the best compared to other bio prof. all u need to do is practice the exam on bioportal and read the slides. she curves midterms and the final is NOT comprehensive. I got c on all mid but end up w/ B bcz of the curves. I could've got higher on the mid if I had practiced more BIOportal exams. TAKE HER

She only goes over the material once in class. To make sure you master the material necessary to pass the exams YOU NEED TO PURCHASE BIOPORTAL! Cannot stress this enough. If anything, purchase only the portal $60, online text is provided. 10-15 hrs of studying per week necessary to pass!! Only consider enrolling if you have excellent study habits.

u need to read the powerpoint don't miss her extra credit points and her exam is based on BIOPORTAL study the practice test over and over tell u get the higher grade. she curves the tests I would had gotten a final grade of C+ if she didn't but I got a B. but u honestly can get a B w/o a curve if u study BIOportal test

GET BIOPORTAL!!! It comes with the online textbook. Use Learning Curve & Prep-U on it. Study as much as you can, her tests are hard! She's really nice and attendance isn't necessary after the first week. BUT if you don't go, you can miss out on the extra credit. Get as much extra credit as possible. As long as you study hard you'll be fine.

If you want an A you must buy the Bioportal and the book. Read the chapters and do flashcards. Also, she gives extra credit on random days so that helps alot. I was able to get an A without the curb but I never missed class and i would study ALOT!!! the lectures were kinda interesting.

The most boring class ever. It is not mandatory to attend, but occasionally she will take attendance or give an extra credit quiz. About 4 tests and an easy paper. Buy the BioPortal. I didnt and got book instead, didnt use it. Got 60s on all tests, 100 on paper and squeezed a B- in class. Grading is lowered a bit so a regular C+ becomes a B- etc.

Great Professor! Has a great sense of humor and is not strict or mean. Tests are pretty tough but most of the questions are pulled out of Prep U (Almost identical). The book and lectures are not mandatory but they do help give a better understanding of the subject. Try to show up as much as possible because she gives out free extra credit in class.

This class is hard because biology is not easy for everyone, like me. But for the type of class it was, its easy if you study, which I didn't. I'm still awaiting my grade and I might get a D. Eek. Anyways, get the prep-u and DO IT. She tells you this but its so true. The questions are just like the prep-u questions. So worth it.

I liked her. Her lectures are pretty interesting, and you don't get bored. You don't really need the book though, just buy the Prep U because the tests are direct questions from that. The only thing you need the book for is to cite one page for a report.

Purchase Prep-U and the book! Most of these comments say that you don't need the book but you do if you want to score well on the exams. Read the textbook before taking prep-u so that you understand the topic. MAKE SURE YOU GET TO LEVEL 8 until you have memorized all the questions on prep-u! Exams are basically off prep-u, lecture, & the book

lectures are very long and absolutely pointless for the tests. almost every single question on the test was taken directly from online practice quizzes, so as long as you do those the tests are very easy. attendance is not mandatory, but she sometimes offers extra credit mini quizzes on class that you cannot make up. over all easy class!

Her lectures are hilarious! All of her test questions come from PrepU, so get that and use it to study for the exams! There are many opportunities for extra credit. I recommend getting the textbook and reading it and taking notes on it before lectures and highlighting or adding the things that she says are important. Loved the class.

Professor Hanlon is a cute old lady professor and she definitely makes you laugh during lectures!! Attendance isn't mandatory but it would help to go cause she explains content well. Not a hard class, I am a freshman and took 6 classes. If you just read the book and PREP-U you will get an A. seemed like many struggled but just study you will be fine.
