She does tell stories and there is alot of reading 2 books @ 300 pages each and you also have to read a history journal of personal accounts throughout our history. The only resource she gives out are her powerpoints with just pictures. I used the textbook n learned more at home. Her lectures are VERY boring. She goes off topic A LOT. Taking notes is hard. She gives out essay question b4 test day and will help u w/ it. If u work really hard and use the textbook, u will get an A. Make sure to do the drop boxes.

I do not recommend. This was the hardest history class I have ever taken. Hayward is very very very heavy with lectures. I hate to say it but it puts you to sleep. If you do, for some odd reason, take her class, be sure to show up ON TIME and stay awake and be ready for notes ALL class.

Absolutely terrible. I'm normally an A student but this class was the first time I ever failed. She gives so much material it's hard to keep up, esp when you have other classes to do. She's nice, and she tries to help but at the end of the day the workload is overbearing. I had to take a gap year after taking this class for my mental health.

I took Dr. Haywards online HIST 1302 class and i'd like to recommend for none of you to make that mistake. I learned all the information there was to learn, read all the books and somehow ended up with a C. She expects you to describe each answer on the tests in way too much detail, and if you don't, you'll most likely fail. Do not take this class!

She is very very tough as a professor. Her lectures are very non informative as she reads from her own notes while her powerpoints only have pictures so be ready to pay attention the whole class duration. She consistently gets off topic and runs out of time at the end of class. If you miss a day of class be ready to be behind for a while.

Sitting through lectures is a lot more enjoyable when it's obvious she likes the topic and knows her stuff. Sometimes unnecessary information in the lecture, but she'll usually tell you what is gonna be important. Only complaint would be that lectures went from the moment class started to the very last second, not much room for anything else.

Would not recommend it if you are looking for easy credit. Multiple dropbox and discussion assignments must be done for each module. Two books to read which are interesting each comes with a test that is not too hard but must be very specific with your answers or else you won't receive a good grade. An additional two tests require tons of notes.

I don't like when teachers have a question and you can give the correct answer, but to them they feel you can elaborate or give more detail. They should specify in their question what it is they want. They seem to want you to rewrite a entire lecture but word it differently.

This class is pretty hard. I took the 14- week online course. The tests took me about 12 hours each, but I got an A on everyone. She can be tough at first but I really enjoyed the class. She gives homework every class but it's usually only 3 questions and about a paragraph to read. She's an easy grader as long as you try and put some effort into it and she can tell if you put effort into it or not. The essays can be hard if you don't like history. I really enjoyed it.
