Mrs Jenson is a very cOol teacher she makes the class very interesting and somtimes gives us a break to finish our work. I learned a lot about paragraph structure, developement, and organization. She loves grammar! Today she was singing with a fish in class! Have fun in her class!

Jensen is an amazing teacher with a genuine heart. I love the way she motivates everyone and befriends each of her students. It was an honor to be a student in her class and I recommend her to any potential students that are looking for a exquisitive professor.

Mrs. Jensen although is a hard teacher, she is very helpful. She is always available when you need help. She works very hard grading the essays for all her comments made on the margins. She is very dedicated to her students. During the course, both the student and her, work so hard because of hw.

I did not look forward to taking English before I met Mrs. Jensen. She is very helpful and makes my class fun. She is very energetic and loves what she does. I am glad I found her. Thanks Mrs. Jensen!

I like this class and the teacher, and I'm learning a lot. The only things I don't like are that she won't accept late work at all and she takes roll at the beginning of every class. I'm lazy, so I don't get all my work in or I come to class late. This has really lowered my grade. I hate that!

This teacher reminds me of my mom. She pesters me about turning stuff in and she worries about me if Im absent. But I'm learning some stuff. I guess that's good.

I was in a learning community and had this class with Study Skills 78. I loved the combination and both teachers, and the LC environment helped me get my work done. This was still not an easy class. This teacher is nice but a REALLY hard grader. Don't procrastinate. She won't accept late work.

This teacher rocks. Her teaching skills and presentation is the best. She doesnt except late work so be prepared to always have your work in on time. What I do like is that if you dont get it she will break it down to you in a form where you will understand. She is the best English Teacher at MJC

What an easy class. The things we talked about and studied were completely elementary and seemed as a waste of time. Although this class-I suppose helped me a bit- it sure was a drag. Shes also a huge republican- watch out.

she is a very nice teacher but don't get to her bad side because she does threaten anybody her misbehaves in class. she is a very spunky woman. i do sense a favoritism in her class but she tries to treat everyone as equally. don't show up late a lot in class or she'll drop you quick. turn in all your assignments and the class will be a breeze.

This class will be easy if you do the reading, turn in your work, don't miss class, and contribute to class discussions. She likes questions and comments and seems to favor students who participate. I feel she is a little on the liberal side, but I think she tried to appear conservative. She seems open to opinions on all sides of an issue.

I tutored in the Writing Center and Barbara was my instructor. She RAWKS. You must meet her. If you dont..your loss. really.

I didn't show up the first day of class, and this teacher dropped me. She said I should have called her, emailed her, or left some kinda message with some secretary. What the heck? She actually gave my seat to some guy on the wait list. What a shaft! No compassion! Very strict!

She is very spunky and alive!!! She makes class interesting, and is very friendly. I can tell there is going to be lots of work though!

This teacher is a hard grader and really strict on attendance, but she is also really good at what she does and helpful to her students. This class was not hard until we began reading Fried Green Tomatoes....At least three narrators tell the story, and it jumps around in time.I hated it at first!But today, I wrote the final about this book, and as I was writing, I realized how much I LOVE that book!It brought the class together.We were a non-traditional family!We were Whistle Stop!

Hard! But she gives out a homework sheet for every week, so we knew what was due. She gives quizzes at the beginning of every class. Ya gotta be on time or ya miss the quiz. No points. Lots of homework. Class goes by fast, but she gets on you if you try to sleep. I hated being in English 49 but I guess this class wans't so bad.

A very helpful teacher!

This teacher's method is interesting. She sneaks in learning. The class doesn't seem hard, but when I look back over all we've done, I realize I'm learning a lot. Today, for example, we wrote something called a "Thought Letter to Myrtle." It actually ended up being a rough draft for an introduction to our next essay. Advice: Fun! Take this class!

Hard grader! Must pass the final exit exam. Mandatory attendance! Accepts no late assignments! Students must be in class on time, and assignements must be in on time. But reading assignments are interesting, class activities are fun and useful, and the teacher will spend extra time with you if you ask. Great teacher! Recommend!

Strange.Interesting. Very orgnized and AR but good sense of humor and kind.Save all your work. You may use it throughout the semester. With the Assignment Sheet, you can work ahead.High expectations. She expects you to work your butt off, meet her expectations, and succeed.If you can't do this, don't take this class.I learned sooo much here!

Jensen is an awesome Teacher! She's nice, funny, her work is not too hard. As long as you keep up the work you're good. You have to write six papers but they're not hard and are fun! I RECOMMEND everyone to take her class. You will definately learn how to write a paper. i did!

I love Ms. J! But I was absent a lot.Going into the final; I had a low C, but I couldn't think of what to write, so I copied the book's example final. She said we could use our books!I guess she meant USE the book but not COPY it. That's "Plagiarism." So I failed.Don't plagiarize!

Jensen.. Well i took her a few sems back, I'm actually in ENG103 now but i have to say I will never forget Mrs. Jensen. She's the best and I'm not just saying that- her grading was tough at times but she really helps you through understanding what you did wrong & how to fix it. Just like what everyone says, "Take Jensen, she's one of a kind!"

Crazy teacher extremely fun, she uses helpful ways to remember grammar rules. She is so adorable, she is really committed to her job.

This teacher is fun and interesting, and I've learned a lot. But she is also harsh. She takes off one point for every error! Yes! I often got 100% for what I was saying, but then after she took off for each grammar or punctuation error, I was lucky if my paper earned a C. Many students failed because EVERY ERROR IS MARKED.

Ms. J... knows her stuff! In fact, she wrote the book we use for the class. It's funny but also helpful. I learned to write an essay: BEST-T, T-BEAR, and RAT-IT! That's the recipe for an essay! I also learned FANBOYS and WABBI words. Oh, but she does grade hard. Show improvement and work hard! If you don't, you'll fail. -- Homework EVERY night!

Absolutly wonderful treacher! I have been out of school for 15 years, but Mrs. Jensen was such a great help that I was able to get an A in one class and hopefully an A in the other.

OMG!I took English 49 from Ms. J... and I loved it! When I got into her English 50 class, I was thrilled! It IS everything I thought it would be. We don't hava as many essays to write as we did in 49 (only 4), but we have much more reading. In fact, one of the essays (an interview) was over 100 paragraphs long. We do writing on almost all reading.

My second semester of Eng 49 -- I failed the first time. I took Ms. J... first; she nagged me to death. I didn't listen. Now I'm listening! I got into her class again, thank God! She's great! Love the book, too! Clear and easy to understand. But you have to work! Don't slack! FOLLOW DIRECTIONS! She'll help you, but don't play the "victim card."

I think i am going to get kickd out of class bcuz i told a tutor i wanted to bash in this techers head. All she talks about is following directions so i can pass the final. Directions are boring. I want 2 B creative. The stupid tutor reported me to campus cops. Now i'm being sent to some dean. I might get kicked out bcuz i made an angry comment. :(

I took 49 with this teacher, and we had to pass a common final. Now I'm in English 50, and I have learned that if I don't pass the final, I fail this class, too. This is tough. I have a B now, but if I have a hard time on the final and fail, I have to take 50 again. I like the class and the teacher, but this rule seems harsh.

Some comments here are obviously made by students who are failing Ms. J's classes. These students are either not responsible or want an easy grade. However, I highly recommend Ms. J. She works overtime to help us, communicates online with us when we have questions, and comments extensively on most essays. I know this takes hours on her part.

OMG! Who is rating this techr a "hot"? She's a grandmother! She's cool but not hot! U R sick! That's rude, too! Ms. J is the BEST techr I've had for 50. She wrote the book on this stuff -- literally! I took her class for 49 and easily passed that dept. final. Now I'm in 50, and the transition is smooth. The books match! The funky charachers match.

Mrs.J class was unique. i had lots of fun. i got to know everybody in the class because she made us work in groups. it was a fair class. we wrote 5 essays and the final. She'll definitely go all the way in order to help you pass the class. All requires is for you to fully commit to the class.

B4 u come n2 Eng. 49, u need to know some stuff. Do u know how and when to end sentences? Can u use verbs correctly? Can u frickin' read! Can u understand what u read? Can u follow directions? Can u be in class every single day? Ms. J has high pass rates, but that's cuz students who can't make it drop early. If u r ready to WORK, take this class.

What a challenge!Gr-8 class!But you have to be ready to spend lots of time n' effort.Sometimes we'd have 5 essays to read in one week! Don't take other hard classes with this one. And she collects or at least checks ALL homework. Also, she'll email you if you're slacking.If you aren't ready, she WILL fail you!I highly recommend her if you're ready.

English 49 is VERY HARD! We started the semester with 31 students. Only 10 students passed this class. I passed, but THIS IS THE HARDEST CLASS I HAVE EVER HAD IN MY LIFE!

Her class was fun and interesting. She helped a lot and was really kind. She does give a little too much homework sometimes .but overall she is helpful.

I took her a couple years ago, but she is the most amazing teacher ever. I wish she taught english 101 and 103. I would take those classes.

Very helpful! We did a lot of essays through out the semester, but the more I wrote, the better I became at writing essays. She makes English fun and this was a subject I have always struggled with prior to this class. Mrs. Jensen is Great!

Mrs. Jensen is truly inspiring. She challenges you to write better and I truly believe that anyone who takes her class will come out a better writer. She is very personable and always enthusiastic. This class is tough. It meets once a week for 3 hours. I needed 101 but thought I would never make three hours of torture. Fortunately, I was pleasantly surprised. The in-class time went quickly. What was difficult, though, was the amount of homework. And she collects ALL or checks it in class. Activities for points! Don't be absent! Great feedback

I think the guy who rated Ms. Jensen a 1 was in my class. He never did homework & was often absent. Ms. Jensen gave him several opportunities to catch up, but he didn't use those opportunities wisely. I loved this 101 class. The books were interesting, & each class session was interactive & intuitive. I learned a great deal about writing & reading.

She is the most caring professor I have ever met! She cares about her students. She wants to see you succeed. There was always homework but I felt as though it was doable and easy. I think we had a total of 5 essays and the final being the 5 essay in class. She makes the class interesting so you're not bored. Always willing to answer questions.

I learned to read & think critically, do peer critiques, find & use credible sources & improve my grammar, punctuation, & sentence structure. Amazing class! Fun, interactive, be in class because she gives points for everything you do in class, and you do something every class session. Lots of comments on your papers. Easy to get an A if you do the work. Lots of group work, but graded individually. Very fair. Clear directions. Approachable. Good examples to help with each activity.

Clear assignments. If you don't understand something, you can ask after class or text/call her or email her. Accessible. Great books! They Say-I Say is a gold mine of ideas, templates, and writing strategies for this and other classes. We're also reading 1984. Read it in high school but getting so much more out of it now! Highly recommend Jensen!

Mrs. Jensen is probably the best teacher at MJC! Whatever level of English you have she can work with. You mainly have to write 5 essay (in which she helps you every step of the way) and read a short book. She also introduces you to so much helping material its insane! This class will help you in the future and you will love Mrs. Jensen as well!
