Barbara is an excellent instructor. Her exams are tough tough tough but if you work hard and do extra questions you'll do well. She really teaches us how to think.

She is the best ACCT teacher I've had! Very easy and very clear. I got an A+ in her class. She really cares about the students, it's really easy to do well in her class, all you have to do is try!

I can't understand the negativity against Barbara. Yes, some of her questions are tough but she's fair and responsible. She doesn't do gimmee or tricked exams. To do well in her class you have to practice and practice. She cares about her students a lot.

Barb is a good prof. If you take some other profs in Acct (won't mention any names) you'll find that she is a pretty good prof.

Though she's not in this field, her teaching is very easily to be understood. Exams are straightforward if u know which formula to use for certain topics. I would suggest you guys take with her~Barb~cares about you and Hockey all the time~thumbs up!

Barb is one of the best teachers at Kwantlen. I like the way she teaches. She uses handouts and printouts for Stats, and summarizes important stuff that you need to know. Her exams are straightforward!

She gives out handouts for every chapter and fairly easy. SHe is the biggest fan of canucks and like to tlk abt them a lot. Overall a very nice teacher, if you do your homework and concentrate on class,, you will surely get a good marks

class is boring , but , easy tests

What do you expect from an instructor? Barbara is really a great teacher. She cares students, gives clear handouts, and pleasant class atmosphere due to the hockey. But you must do what a student needs do to enjoy her class.

Intro Accounting with Barb was a breeze. She hands out lecture notes in advance, does lots of example problems in class and bases her exams on those same problems as well as those assigned for homework. If you do the homework you should be able to get an A+ like me. P.S she's usually happy.

She's a little wacky but that's what makes it a fun class. tests aren't that hard, you obviously still have to study for them...but that's no different than any other class. I would recommend her to anybody ... she explains things very well aand will try to explain it a diff way if you don't understand.

if you took math 12 in highschool and got a C+ or better, you'll do very well in this class. Barb teaches good and explains if you have any questions. her tests are just like the questions she assigns for homework. i studied the night before test #2, redid the questions from the assignments and got 97% on the test. Take her, she's good at teaching

She is the best. she gives all the notes and she expains them very clear. If u have any questions, go ask her, she is very helpful and patient. Taking her class is so fun, she always have fun stories. u have to work hard of course. her exams are not easy but if u do ur work, u will be ok.

Ok, for all of those that gave Barb a bad review, you seriously are stupid. I barely passed the beginner level accounting courses and with Barb, already on the first midterm I got 80% easily by STUDYING. For those people who gave Barb a bad review please learn to STUDY She's the BEST TEACHER EVER

Barb is hilarious! Not always willing to help you at a moment's notice in class, but find her when she's not teaching and she'll help you 100%. I suspect these negative reviews come from people who don't ask for help during her office hours... if you do that, you'll love her.

Barbara is a great teacher. Her notes are awesome. I did not read the text at all. She is so helpful, explained the same material several times until I understood. Yeah, she talks about hockey, but she explains the material very clear. Her exams are not easy, but do your work and practice the problems in her notes, you will be just fine.

Do not listen to these horrible comments. Barb is a really good teacher. Class is always fun and she is very good at explaining things. The course can be difficult if you do not attend classes. Barb is always willing to help but if you do not ask, she won't help. Definaltely would take her again, 100%

Very funny but rude at times. She always makes sure that the students understand before moving on. Do the assignments and you're guaranteed to get at least a B+. Her tests are hard but fair.

She is a kind of crazy, loveable nut; you just have to accept her as she is. I understand the concepts fairly easily when she goes over them and find her accomodating when asked questions. It is difficult to do extra questions b/c you have to go to her office to get the answers--I would prefer to have them posted. I fully expect to get an A.

She's an awesome teacher. Very hard but she gives bonus marks if you participate in class. Always willing to help. She cares about students. Love her eccentric personality. It keeps you awake and entertained. Some will say she's rude but she's just sarcastic. You just have to get used to it.

Barb expects a lot but she is a good educator. I learned a lot from her class. If you are willing to put in some effort you will get a good grade. I got B+ with a bit of effort and she is very helpful during office hours! You can tell she cares.

Barb is awesome! this course is no cake walk and she will force you to learn but she she is so good in teaching, you will learn something. You can tell she cares a lot if you do well.

Best accounting teacher by far. She makes the lessons easy to understand by giving handouts and explaining them in simpler terms (compared to the textbook). Do come to class and pay attention though, accounting is about understanding what's going on. It's not like other subjects where you can just wing it on the day itself. Highly Recommended!

A hard class for sure, but with effort, you will learn a lot from Barb. This is the only class where I was forced to stop memorizing because it won't get you anywhere! She ALWAYS examines on what you DIDN'T go over in class. Good teacher. I got a B which is the lowest acct. mark so far, but it was worth it.

Barb is awesome! Took her last year and she advised the class after the first midterm that she didn't want to see anyone withdrawl and that she will help us get through it if we go see her...I was going to withdrawl but took the advice and came out with a B . Thanks Barb for caring!

It's a hard course... harder than 3320. You have to expect that and do all the work before class, because otherwise (like me) you get left behind and no matter how many times it's explained, it doesn't make sense until you do it at least ten times yourself. Barb needs to retire for her own sanity and ours, but she's still a good teacher.

Ok guys, here is the deal. Barb may seem like a mean teacher but she really is not. She is only opening your eyes to the reality of the work ethic required for CGA and CMA designations. Attend all classes. Understand her notes thoroughly and you should have no problems. Also do EXTRA PROBLEMS if you desire a grade >C-C+ as averages tend to be <=60%

Barb's SO misunderstood. Ppl who say she's "moody" dont understand her humor. Laugh at her jokes & she will like you. Gives notes that are super helpful, but leaves blanks so that u must follow along to get the answers. Be sure to do homework in PEN. She's SO helpful over email. Ive never met someone who cares about her students like Barb does.
