This class sucked. She never had her stuff together. I dropped within the first month.
She jumps around a lot in the way she teaches...But she's not a totally bad teacher...You just have to be able to teacher your self a lot. Also there is a lot of information to cover...One thing she lacked was organization in her teaching...
She is very nice and easy to talk to. I took this class in winter intersession which I wouldn't recommend unless its your only class and you have lots of extra time to study. Your grade is based on 5 tests and the final but if you miss class there is a lot of information to catch up on. She is VERY fair in preparing you for test material.
She was very nice and I learned a lot about my body from her class. The only thing is that she wasn't very organized and she was often late to class.
This class was very disorganized. She never showed up on time, and never followed through with anything she stated. Everything was constantly changed. She explained some things well, but class was always let out 1 hr early with tons of material left to cover. I would recomend finding a different professor.
SHE IS VERY UNORGANIZED, SHE WAS ALWAYS LATE, NEVER HELPFULL,NEVER HAD THE NOTES PREPARED,

AMAZING!!!! No too difficult but not too easy of a class, but if you try and go to her for help, you will succeed! Trust me from experience!! Not an 'easy A' class, but excellent in helping you understand. You don't need to attend lecture, but it does help you for preping for tests.
The teacher works hard at presenting the lessons and preparing you for the test material. She is a fair grader, and very helpful when asked. I worked hard in the class, and recieved a fair grade for it. The class and lab was interesting and fun. She is a very good teacher!
Dr. Moore does everything possible to help her students pass. She is understanding, very personable and will never turn down a question. It may seem hard at times but it is Bio...just go to lecture, lab, ask all questions, and most important read your book...you should do great!
She is a very helpful teacher and I enjoy going to her class. Any questions you have she will clarify for you. Also she relates topics in a way that you can understand them. Overall she really cares about her students learning the material and will help anyway she can. I would definitely recommend taking her.
Doesnt matter if shes nice. Nice doesn't bring A's to your transcript. Overall this class was extremely unorganized. Her lectures were not very clear. When she would try to explain something, it was not comprehensable for students that has never taken a bio class before. Overall I suggest you to choose a different prof. Test were also very hard
She is not a teacher. She does not help. If you need help she will ignore you. If you work for the school she will give you a better grade. She needs her job for her horses.
well this is the first time i got a B on sci but anyways i could have gotten an A if i only studied for the final exams but anyways i like her as a teacher she's a real college teacher where you really have to do work to get the grade you deserve and for me thats what college is all about dont matter if got an A but you havent learned **** right?
I think everyone rating this teacher is mad because they might have had to earn a grade for once at RCC. She was a good teacher that answered questions and gave helpful lectures. If you did bad it's because you aren't meant for college so go work at jack in the box for the rest of you life.
I liked Dr. Moore. I don't think there are any "easy" science teachers at RCC. She gave 10 extra credit points with each test that saved my butt. Cut her some slack. The more classes she teaches the more organized she will be.
Hard class... good teacher. But what do you expect from a microbiology class? Its not gonna be easy.
I am a former graduate of UCR. I have learned more in this class than all of my biology classes combined. She is very intelligent, caring, and clear on what she wants you to know. Although, she was unorganized for her first Bio-11 class, most people who actually STUDIED did well. Tips: read your book, your notes, and pay attention in class.
Miss Moore is so cool. Science is hard for me so I had to study quite a bit-this is not a sleeper class. If you are trying your best though miss Moore goes the extra mile to make sure you understand. She tries to make it fun cuz she knows bio is not everyones fav. I took a small night class-WAY BETTER than the big day class!
SHE IS VERY THOROUGH WITH HER LECTUERS.. IF YOU DO NOT UNDERSTAND SHE WILL GO INTO DETAILS TO MAKE U UNDERSTAND.. SHE MAKES ALL THE POSSIBLE FOR YOU TO PASS AND UNDERSTAND THE MATERIAL AT THE SAME TIME. IT MIGHT BE A LOT TO CONTAIN THOUGH. TESTS ARE SOMEHWAT HARD, BUT IF U STUDY YOU SHOULD BE GOOD..
If u have dedication, motivation plus study hard, u will get an A (even u have to work 7 days/week plus 2 classes).Pay attention when she is lecturing. All her tests are fair, bcos they are taken from her ppts and lectures. She will let u know what she expects. Overall, I really enjoyed her class. By the way, she has a heart full of mercy.
Dr. Moore is a genius. Her class was very, very difficult, but I feel like I learned a lot. There is also a LOT of extra credit. I really enjoyed the class and would take her again no questions asked. She and Dr. Gutierrez make a very good team.
Dr. Moore is amazing. She is very passionate about what she teaches and it shows. The class is difficult, and I ended up getting my first B in college out of 15 classes, but I learned alot. If you study all of the lecture notes, read all the chapters, and do the practice tests, you'll be fine on the exams. Take her, and you won't regret it!
She is a great instructor. Her test are hard, but her lectures are awesome, she gives extra credit, and really cares for the students.
Her test were really hard but just study all of her lecture notes and you should be fine. There is so much to learn in this class and i would love to take this class again if i could. STUDY STUDY STUDY don't wait till the last day to cram it all.
This class was extremely hard and time consuming. Dr moore is very knowlegable although she lacks teaching ability. Her lectures were interesting although the material she spoke about was only 1/4 of the material you needed to konow for tests. You basically have to read and understand thoroughly every chapter assigned on your own.
DR. MOORE IS AN AWESOME INSTRUCTOR. THE CLASS IS VERY HARD; HOWEVER, SHE COVERS ALL OF THE MATERIAL IN LECTURE. IF YOU READ YOUR NOTES AND READ THE CHAPTER JUST THE WAY YOU ARE SUPPOSED TO, YOU WILL BE FINE.
She is passionate about science and research. Hard teacher-No study guides for tests, no test review:would have liked to go over test afterwards, to see where I went wrong.HARD,HARD,HARD! Study.Study.STUDY!!! DON'T Procrastinate!!!
This class covers alot of material, and the teacher moves very fast through the chapters. She does provide a study guide on her website, but it doesn't help at all. I thought I received an A on the first test because I felt very prepared, but instead I got a C, and we didnt get them back so I had no idea what i did wrong. You have to really study.
THIS CLASS WAS SOOOO HARD. I KEPT TRYING BUT I JUST COULDNT DO IT. I HAD TO DROP THE CLASS. THE TEST ARE HARD. STUDYING IS A MUST OR ELSE YOU'LL FAIL. LAB WORK WAS OK BUT YOU STILL HAVE TO WORRY ABOUT PASSING LAB. I HAD MOORE FOR LECTURE ONLY. THERE IS SO MUCH MATERIAL TO COVER AND NOT ENOUGH TIME SO IT GETS OVERWHELMING.
Dr. Moore is a brilliant woman. She knows her subject by heart and is very passionate about it. The course is extremely difficult, and you have to study really hard just to get C's on her tests. However, she is extremely willing to help her students. She and Dr. G make a great team. They have excellent communication and both are willing t help.
I won't lie, this class takes a lot of dedication and study time. She does expect a lot out of you and I guarantee if you do not study, you will not pass! She is not hard at all, nor is the work difficult. If you pay attention and go to class you will pass!!
This is the teacher you want if biology is your major because she knows so much about the subject; However, her tests are EXTREMELY hard (100 question multiple choice exams). She is always well prepared for class and has power point lectures / practice exams (with answer keys) / study guides / worksheets printable from her website before class.
Very hard teacher, she was very unorganized, tests were very difficult and very detailed. GOOD LUCK! Take Calhoun at Moreno Valley instead.
I took her Micro class in the winter and I got a B. This is not a easy class. I pretty much had no life for the 6 weeks of school but its worth it. She's a great teacher and if you really take the time to learn the material it's a very interesting class. I just wish I took it in a longer semester so I could have spent more time on some of the info.
Dr. Moore is a great professor and is willing to help. she makes the class enjoyable. the test are hard but are multiple choice. she give you chances to bring up you grade. i would take her again. i love science
She is the the most intelligent teacher on campus!
Dr. Moore is EXTREMELY knowledgeable & very helpful. This class takes over your ENTIRE life, its a very HARD class! If you can't dedicate to study EVERYDAY don't waste your time or hers. You really need show up to lecture & lab.NOT an easy A! Pay attention, ask questions, be prepared before showing up to class, don't be late.Must have textbook!Good Luck
I highly recommend this professor she keeps the lectures interesting, ask if anyone has questions throughout the lectures, and has a website with useful study guides. This class is hard though no matter who the professor is so be prepared ... But if you study for her class you should be ok to pass.....
I really enjoyed DR Moores class. Her lectures are very good and have a lot of useful information. If you go to class pay attention, and study with the lecture notes and practice tests you will do great.
HARD teacher! Exams are very long and super hard! She expects you to commit lecture and the textbook to memory in order to pass the exams. Expects way too much for a general biology class.Goes through things super fast! Pair her up with Diane Olin for the lab portion and you will have two of the worst teachers on campus!
Well, the class is fun, but it's not the easy way out. tests are difficult, online homework is easy. studying with the book and her powerpoints gets you an A. If you mess up on a test, or two, there is room to bounce your grade back since there are 7 tests. Recommend for fun times in lab, don't recommend in search of an easy class.
Summer 6w class;got to eat, sleep & breathe Micro! 7 lecture & 3 lab exams. Dr Moore lectures are fast-paced and assume prior textbook/ppt reading. Be prepared to work hard for an A. 100Qs for each lecture exams. Dropped if missed 2 lectures. Record lectures if possible to aid studying. Gives hints on exam Qs so don't miss lectures!
Lectures are very interesting & well-prepared w chapter powerpoint & disease notes. However lectures tend to be fast so pay close attention & take quick notes. Pros - Dr Moore gives exam hints during lectures, provides lots of extra credit and curves. Be prepared to work hard for a good grade cos of difficult subject matter. Highly recommended!
Great class! I am currently taking a class similar to this at UCLA and still look back at her slides from time to time for reference. Her tests are medium to hard, mostly multiple choice. Class avg on tests was 60s similar to UCs. Mastering bio buffers your grade which eliminates the need for a curve. Put in the time and you?ll get an ?A?.
She was not helpful and told me that she never offers extra credit but when I dropped the class she told the class that the final lab exam would be extra credit. When I went to talk to her she told me that I didn't know how to study but even when I did everything she told me she still believed I was lacking. She told us that we were bad students.
It was a hard class but it really helps because having her study guides, videos, Power points, and lectures prepared me for the tasks throughout the semester. She gives about six or seven tests and it may seem like a lot but they each have about two or three chapters per test so it gives you more time to focus on each chapter.
AWESOME TEACHER!-you must print out PP with each lecture-take good notes on PP & record lecture if possible.Skim the book/check out main points at end of chap./memorize definitions.Test is mainly on PP & notes.Xtra credit given. She will go over miss. test ques. & has office hrs to help.DON'T MISS CLASS & DON'T WHINE-its hard because its COLLEGE!!
Not a great professor-does not know how to explain in simple terms. She speaks like everyone is a science major. She yelled at the class midway thru the semester saying we did not know how to study and it was not her teaching that was the problem. More than half the class was failing but her teaching was not the problem.Do not take her-terrible!!!
Ive been in Professor Moore's class 3 weeks now and I all i can say is she is extremely difficult. I was expecting a hard course but her lectures cover a lot of material and she gets frustrated when you dont understand. Gives little help on lab experiments and seems like she doesnt want to be teaching at all. Also leaves 45 min each class!
I don't recommend this professor. She has no patience with students and I am very confused!
Beware of Miss Moore, she is very difficult. You have to have some type of biology knowledge. If this is your first biology class DO NOT TAKE HER.
Very difficult class! Do not take her unless you have enough time to study and want to put the effort into it. She is nice once you get to know her so try talking to her, she is more helpful when you talk to her! Beware of this class!! Very difficult and many people fail!
I took Dr Moore for Micro and Bio-1 and absolutely loved her classes. She is a fantastic teacher who expects nothing but your absolute best, you will a lot from her but her class is hard. As long you put in the study hours and ask her for help when you need it you'll be able to get out with a B, if you have a head for science you might pull an A.
Difficult class, but good teacher. You must actively participate and pay attention. Do not take if you are looking for an easy A. Professor gives many opportunities to ask questions, and tries many different methods to teach, but this is a difficult subject
Dr. Moore is a very intelligent professor that has answers for any/all questions! I took her for summer bio, was very hard and had no life during summer but this is college. Tests are difficult, but study and you will be fine, power points help alot
She is SO HARD! She tells you to mainly use the powerpoints but she also uses the book a lot, but then says she doesn't like what the book says. She isn't patient and she snaps at you if you ask her questions...I wouldn't recommend at all
Very intimating! It's very difficult to approach her without fear of feeling discouraged. Very difficult teacher. Her tests are very different from what she lectures and what she says is going to be on the test. I read the book and felt like I truly understood it, but failed almost every single one of her tests. Thank goodness for MasteringBiology
Passionate but very unorganized and doesn't give the opportunity to display knowledge bc of inconsistancies with the material taught vs. actual exam questions. We had 10 people in our class- not because of decrease student population, its word of mouth. She taught like 4 classes at the same time, cant balance well to the students expense
Took this post-grad UC, and I never had a professor NOT want a student to do well. She teaches as if its an actual majors class w nitty gritty details when its a majors overview? She says one thing then the test says otherwise. She is smart and loves teaching but her exam/lecture notes logistics definitely do not add up
Very intelligent professor but she teaches way beyond what Bio 1 is all about. A very difficult class to take for someone who does not understand the subject. Be prepared for the professor talking down to you. Which is to be expected as she is your typical Inland Empire trash.
I was so lucky to pass with a C. I must say, do not take her class if you cannot teach yourself. I never missed a day and still strugged. If it was not for Mastering Bio, I would fail. Make sure you Ace mastering bio and do really well on lab. Six hard lecture tests but if you pass each one with 60% you'll pass. It is very hard though, not easy!
Although she might has her PhD but definitely she cannot teach and when she makes her own tests and not use the publisher tests she even makes it worse I do not recommend any one to take any of her classes at all. Unfortunately the students take her classes because there are no more classes available. She does not has the talent of teaching
she doesn't know how to teach she speaks as she talking to everybody as they are biology major. i don't recommend her at all take this class somewhere else.
i do not recommend her, i took her in the summer, very unorganized
had a really hard time in this class that i took in the summer. Half the class dropped and half of what was left failed. I studied like I had never studied before. It literally took up all my summer and I still got a C.
Dr Moore is a great instructor. Yes, she expects a lot but hello, you're in college. Read the book and study her slides and you will do fine in her class. Don't be afraid to ask her questions she likes them!
Dr. Moore is very knowledgeable professor. Microbiology is a hard subject and you honestly have to be on top of your game to get high scores on your test. Dr. Moore does go above and beyond to help her students and she is always available to answer any questions that you might have. I truly feel that I left knowing a lot.
Took this class over summer. She's a hard teacher and expects you to know the material when you get to class. I liked her she really wants you to succeed but sometimes she isn't clear . Lecture alone won't help you pass. Study her slides and get a study group together! I got a B
This course will test your resolve. Your grade will truly be reflective of the effort you put forth. Dr. Moore does teach way beyond a general biology class should. However, it will better prepare you for anatomy, micro or other upper division biology class. You will need to be proactive and take notes, read the book and watch the movies. Goodluck.
Dr. Moore definitely has a passion and is competent in the knowledge of her subject. As a result of taking this class I found an interest in Bio. She could go from being a great teacher to being the best with one simple move ..Patience! I would take her again knowing the "rules" of her game. Having an instructor like this wakes a student up.
Dr. Moore is a tough teacher. Not recommended if you work full time and have other classes. If you have this instructor READ your book! There is no way anyone can pass without reading the text and completing the assignments. This is not a class for those looking for an easy A. Work hard and you will succeed.
The criteria is difficult, if you ask and show you have read the material she will try her best to clarify further if needed. I went to her office many times and she helped me every time. Tests are hard!!! You must read and reread! Micros hard but its not horrible. Lab attendance is mandatory.
Dr. Moore is one of the best professors I've taken. Her lectures are interesting, clear, and she's very helpful and knowledgeable. She's funny, and she's very invested in the success of her students. She really cares and tries her hardest to help her students out. Even though her tests are hard, doing mastering bio and paying attention will help.
May say she will help you but all she does is discourage you. Her tests are very hard, her lab quizzes are multiple correct answer type. I don't recommend her unless you have recently taken biology somewhere else. Ms,M may know biology but shes very unorganized, unable to teach or deal with students.
Dr. Moore has gotten such a bad rep from students, because of the fact that it is a hard class. The criteria is simple- lecture exam every 2-3 weeks (makes it so it's only a few chapters at a time), followed lab exams every 2-3 weeks as well. Mastering bio will save your grade! Never studied so much for a B.
It's unbelievably thorough, hard, demanding, and at points dreary, but now I'm at ASU as a Developmental Cell Biology and Molecular Genetics major and I can say its so unbelievably worth taking Dr. Moore. She prepares you for the real thing and saying that you're well prepared for what lies ahead is an understatement. Best choice I've ever made.
She's dedicated to her job. Meaning, she has no life outside of her class. That shows in the level of difficulty of her tests. you need to have some serious free time or dedication to this class. I wouldn't recommend her if you work, have kids, or are taking other classes, or have a life.
Great teacher. Your grade reflects on effort. She did improve her test and they are based off her lectures now. She gives one extra credit assignment only. She's very nice and has office hours for help. Biology is a lot of information but mastering biology is SUPER HELPFUL. labs are mandatory and lectures aren't.
This is not a easy class. You don't need to attend lecture part, but it does help you for preping for tests. Tips: attend the labs, do mastering biology, read your book, your notes, and pay attention in class
She is one of the few professors that is completely approachable. Her tests are based on the book and her lecture slides. Do not expect to read the chapter only once if you want an A. Take notes on important concepts while reading. Stay ahead in class and you will be fine. You cannot study at the last minute for this class unless you plan to fail.
She's fast in lecture which doesn't give you enough time to absorb the information, tests every other week, majority of test info from book, get ready to read like crazy
Nice professor who will help you understand a difficult subject. She is the most intelligent person on campus and her tests are EXTREMELY hard. Be ready to read and study every single day. You must be able to teach yourself because she wont go over something twice. I also took AMY 2A and did fine in her class.
Really good teacher. Some people didn't like her teaching style but I didn't mind it. She would have us discuss different topics with the people around us. So if you are sitting by people who are reading the chapter before class, which I would highly recommend, then you will be fine. Lots of notes and lecture. No homework just tests.
HORRIBLE!!!! She did not teach all semester, specifically told you what WOULD NOT be on a test, and it ended up on the test!!
I love Professor moore!!! She is so passionate about her the subject. She is very nice and she is very easy to tALK to. she will help you and to clear things up for you. However, you have to do your share of hard work. She is very straight forward what is on the test. The book is mandatory!!! Overall, she is a great teacher definitely recommend !
MUST read book to keep up because you're teaching yourself. If she said material wouldn't be on the test, it was, and vice-versa. Its a very tough subject, she just made it harder to understand. She spoke fast and wouldn't let us record lectures (when she actually did lecture). She took forever getting quiz and test grades back to us.
For someone that hates Bio, I enjoyed this class for the most part. She's tough but knows her stuff! must pay attention in lecture because its all on the tests. Reading is mandatory, and lots of online homework.
Moore's Bio-11 class has 3 midterms and 1 cumulative final, so to succeed in it study thoroughly and review constantly. Make sure to read the chapter ahead of lecture (since it rarely makes complete sense at first), go to office hrs (since her tests go beyond the book and tie into lecture), and be sure to ask questions until you get everything.
Extremely passionate and knowledgeable in her field. However, she is a tough professor who will push you so you're well-prepared for your upper div classes. If I could retake this class, I'd read ahead so I understand the chapter before lecture, which she rushes; review EVERY lecture and make study guides, and form study groups--all before exam 1.
She is very disorganized. She blames the class for not understanding her lectures even though most of the class failed her BASIC biology class. When we asked her questions she would say it would not be on the test but it was. She doesn't care if you pass or not. I took biological psychology with another teacher and got an A.
I don't like her lab exam. The prelab assignment you have to study will be on the exam but it wasn't as much too often. Students had bad reaction while reviewing the Exam answers and they've answered them wrong. Lab assignment is easy points. (Must!) She's a tough instructor and this isn't Bio 1 Major lab class.
I like how Professor Moore was very passionate about this subject. She is not easy and can be tough with her students, but she does it for you to learn the subject. It is not an easy subject and this is not an easy class. Read the textbook and it will make it much easier! I overall enjoyed having her as my professor.
Professor Moore is a very knowledgeable but her class is difficult. She expects you to immediately understand the material and be able to apply it to real life situations. Be prepared for a lot of self-studying. I respect her as an intelligent woman but as a professor she needs to explain concepts before applying them to real life.
Professor Moore is AMAZING!!! I learned so much and better yet, understood the material. This was by far the hardest class I've ever taken. This is also the first "C" I've ever received. Her lectures are great and she explains everything throughly, but if you miss class, you'll definitely fall behind.
Dr. Moore is very friendly and treats students like actual people. Her lectures are interesting, she is full of knowledge, and inspiring to science majors. The downside is the heavy workload and difficult tests. Her class is difficult even for science majors, but you will learn a lot.
Passionate and knowledgable however she is a very tricky and tough grader. The subject itself is very difficult to grasp and it doesn't help that she throws so much information to synthesize in a short period of time. She was disorganized in keeping up with lecture material and we were required to cover key aspects of diseases on our own.
This class is a very difficult class in general, but with this professor, it's even harder. Her tests & quizzes go over a lot of information and are very long and difficult. She does not grade your exams in a timely manner and is very disorganized. You can study like crazy, and you might pass her class.
she is extremely hard to understand. most of the time she goes off the topic. most of students can't understand her lectures. She is a nice person and knowledgeable too but as a professor she cant explain properly.
I had this professor for lab. I highly DO NOT recommend her. She made it so difficult to understand the material and her lab tests were so heavy that it was like I was taking 2 bio classes. She kept adding on to what our lecture professor was teaching. Very disorganized. Shes all over the place when teaches so its hard to understand. Just no..
Prof Moore thinks everyone should have all the understanding of a graduate student. She controls the lecture portion of the class, even though she wasnt the teacher for it. She changes exams, writes them the morning of, has no time to work with students, and cannot explain things. She doesnt understand how someone could not get it.
Professor Moore has a lot of knowledge in her field however her class is extremely difficult. It is very unorganized and feels procrastinated. She draws out her lectures in real time and you're left with messy notes you can't really refer to. She does care about the success of her students but expects too much without providing useful guidance.
Great teacher! read chapters assigned before classes, take notes, study!!!. she is a hard teacher but it is a hard class. if anyone is taking bio 61 it is because they are most likely going into a bio major, so the class prepares you well for the next steps. i enjoyed her lectures as well and if you study the test are straightforward
WARNING! DO NOT TAKE HER CLASS! Professor Moore is very unorganized. She gets upset when you ask questions or don't understand the subject. In her class you will learn more about politics over Bio/Micro. She will also suggest that you see her during her office hours for help, again, WARNING, you will waste your time in doing .
If you can understand the textbook and test well then her class is pretty straight forward. Despite the disorganization (which typically benefits the students tbh) everything that she takes for a grade she gives plenty of warning for, and she is incredibly forgiving when it comes to late work.
skims through chapters, grade weekly 90 question test, HW/EC is 1% grade (MANY ASSIGNMENTS) dont ask questions she gets MAD, makes up test questions SO EXPECT TO SEE GRAMMAR ERRORS, gives the class the answer but the still marks it incorrect. she made sure we read ALL 31 chap (Winter course) UNORGANIZED, GETS OFF TOPIC/LOSES HER TRAIN OF THOUGHT
Took her micro during spring semester. She cares about her students and is flexible if you explain your circumstance to her. She can be disorganized but it usually works in the student's favor. The Mechanisms for Microbial Disease book helps a lot when studying for the quizzes and lab final. Be ready to work for a B or an A. The class is curved
I took Microbiology with Professor Moore for the first time. She expects you to know all of the diseases covered according to the material we've learned. The midterm exam averages need to be passed at least 60% and the final exam score of at least 65% to pass the class. When I got my progress report back, I received a 34% on the first midterm exam.
Microbiology is a hard class because it requires a lot of time to study. However, it was hard to keep in touch with her because she doesn't have time to work with students who need extra help. Unfortunately, I withdrew because I was failing the class. I wouldn't recommend taking her if this is your first time taking Microbiology or need to succeed.
I took Microbiology with her in the fall. This class is very hard because it covers cumulative concepts throughout the semester. Whenever I asked her any questions, she gets upset if I dont understand the subject or follow the lab procedures. Luckily, I withdrew the class. I would not recommend anyone to take any of her classes. Be advised.
This professor is not very helpful at all. Whenever I struggled in microbiology, she informed me that I wasnt passing this class. It was very hard for me to follow her lectures as well. She kept lecturing about politics over biology/microbiology instead of teaching the entire class. I would not recommend taking her for micro. VERY DISAPPOINTED.
By far one of the worst professors I've ever had in college thus up to this point. She is hilariously disorganized and doesn't seem to know how to explain the material to someone who isn't a bio major. Asking her for help literally does nothing other then confuse me more and honestly waste my time, she does not know how to teach someone.
The tests are hard, so take great notes and skim book to get general ideas down. Shes a student advocate and wants you to pass but also really wants students to grasp scientific concepts. Eccentric, knowledgeable wants students to make the right college choices. She encouraged me to continue taking science courses.
Took this Professor and dropped within the first two weeks. Im pretty good at bio but I struggled a little with chem so if chemistry is not your strong suit you might want to reconsider. She jumps around lectures a lot, the tests/quizes are very hard and take a long time to do. The labs almost always had something missing. Avoid taking her class!!!
Had the benefit of the doubt to just take her class: Absolutely disorganized and does not have a clear system for assignments/tests/etc. Exams had many errors and were not corrected right away. Teaching method was alright but exams did not reflect material she taught. Felt like I taught the class to myself. I think she needs a break from teaching.
Honestly the worst professor I have encountered. She constantly laughed at me whenever I made eye contact with her outside of the room while I'm taking a quiz. However, she talked more about politics over micro/bio. Unfortunately, she isn't here to teach, so you have to teach yourself and read the book. Take her if you're good at teaching yourself.
she is very very unorganized bc she has lots of other commitments outside of teaching. but she's funny occasionally and she gave lots of extra credit. her disorganization usually worked in our favor. labs were very boring.
I thought some people were being dramatic when they said she is the worst professor they've had. They were not. She really is bad. Halfway through the class she completely gave up. Professor Moore just one day stopped giving lectures. Instead, she decided to assign an unbearable amount of assignments. She also brags about how hard her tests are.
Probably the worst teacher ive ever taken a class with. HORRIBLE for online classes
This teacher is very disorganized and doesn't specify what to really study which makes it hard to take tests.
At first, I read the reviews she was a bad professor. I was skeptical about Professor Moore. But during covid, she has proven to be a good professor. She does online zoom lectures well in-depth making sure you get the topic. She is open to helping you in the lab. grade in the class is based on exams and quizzes. Watch her lectures you'll pass
I have no idea whats going on in this class. In the beginning she barely gave any assignments and was always late with lecture videos. Now we have so many assignments due at once and she keeps changing the due dates. Shes very disorganized and unclear with directions. I dont recommend her for online classes at all
Never before have I encountered a class/teacher as frustrating as this one has been. EXTREMELY unorganized, late with posting lecture content (if she ever posts them at all), doesn't reply to emails, the list goes on. Previous bad reviews are not an exaggeration! Save yourself the headaches and take someone else if you can!!
Your grade is based off exams mostly. You wont know your grade until the end of the semester. Shes all over the place and isnt as organized as much as she says she is. she isnt on top on communicating to her students right away. She doesnt have the decency to tell her students right away if something has changed.
Worst Professor I have ever taken. It started when she started class a week late and didnt inform students. She is impossible to get ahold of and wont answer for days. She posts lectures extremely late, if at all. The only thing that will save you is her curve. This class was so stressful that it caused health problems. Horrible semester.
Not a good professor at all. UNACCESIBLE outside of lectures. I've sent her 3/4 emails during finals week asking about certain due dates and she has NOT replied to any. She's unorganized and contradictive with her assignments' due dates (an assignment will be due a certain day & time), but she will say otherwise and changes due dates LAST MINUTE.
This was the toughest teacher I've ever taken. If you do the work you'll be fine but be prepared to spend a lot of time doing work. I spend all my time doing work, didn't have time to study for the test. She didn't really have any lectures, you go off of the labs & homework.
I wanted to like professor Moore, but she's a HORRIBLE professor. Very unorganized, lacks communication, NEVER UPDATES CANVAS, and you will never know what your grade is because SHE DOESNT KNOW EITHER. She doesn't respond to questions and is SO late on assignments that she will dump a bunch on your plate last min. So stressed-DONT TAKE HER CLASS
Horrible Professor! She talks about politics more than microbiology. Very unprofessional, unorganized and unreliable. If you want to be stressed and sick for an entire semester, take her class.
I have her for a hybrid class (online/in-person). She is very unorganized and never follows through with what she says. If she says she'll post a lecture on one day, it never happens. if it gets posted at all, it's several days after the date. The constant flip-flopping dates is very stressful, and you will never know what your grade is.
Professor Moore's zoom lectures are good. However, the exams seem to be at postgraduate level, not covered in lectures or even the text book. She is extremely unorganized. She will give zoom times for QA, then not show up. She doesn't update grades in canvas all semester. Took Final on Friday, told grades up on Sat, still 10 assigmts not graded.
Its microbio, of course its hard. Dr. Moore is very kind and funny and is very knowledgeable and if you have any concerns or questions she will answer them. I recommend attending office hours. She may be strict but she is kind and willing to help out if you have any conern. Exams are hard but she helps us out the best she can. Labs are fun.
Professor Moore is really unorganized and put the most of the works last minute for students. She might last minute change the exam from online to written exam or written to online. Overall not good
The reviews about her being disorganized are accurate, but this really wasn't a difficult course. All of her lectures are online, so you can watch them as much as you want at home, she only tests on what she lectures about, and she allows a cheat sheet for the exams. Maybe these are new policies, but what else can you ask for?
