worked extrememly hard for class deserved an A and didn't get it. Way too much work.
Hard grader, take lots of notes, loved all of her stories about her son and friends. Has a wealth of info and is good.
Very scattered notes. Not much sense at all. I spent a fortune to copy all the articles in the library...about 25 of them at 20 pages each!
She keeps you working hard. The assignments are lengthy and you do have to copy alot of articles, but she is a great teacher. She is very knowledgeable about what she teaches. The work is worth it!
Extremely difficult professor. You have to work really hard to get an A, but it is possible. She is a little wacky and her notes are aweful! If you like taking chances then take her classes.
Very hard teacher! Notes are just scattered thoughts put up on the board. Don't let your mind wander if you want to know what your notes say. Not recommended at all.

She is extremely disorganized and can't seem to train thoughts together. Gets frustrated with class when we don't understand what she wants from us. VERY HARD to get an A. Do not take this class with her...especially if you are a republican
She is so disorganized! If you disagree with her opinions watch out. She makes you spend a lot of money on a book of articles, as well as a text. She is a very hard grader I had her for social problems. I do NOT suggest her
Can be very nice on occassion. Very unorganized and has LOTS of notes but does hand out powerpoint presentation packets to help w. the note taking. Must have patience when taking this professor - can be a little absent minded.
She expects you to work and read and come to class prepared but the class is so intersting and so is she I love her stories

Definitely a hard grader. Too much work for an intro class. She is nice but very opinionated. Definitely don't talk about your politics no matter what they are. She will tear you to pieces every class if you do. Overall the class was pretty good.
Very disorganized, hard to follow what she is talking about. She gets annoyed when you don't understand what she is talking about. No matter what she's always right. Don't take her. She'll ruin your entire semester.

Though she was great!!! I am interested in the others comments. She was totally organized and very excited about what she had to teach. Ilearned alot and know i will use the skills she taught me in my current field of Nursing. Thanks Prof. Morrell.
Very good professor loves her job as a sociologist. I learned alot from her. There is alot of photocopying and work for a 100 level course but in the end you learn and she is a pretty easy grader.
I enjoyed her class so much! She's a great teacher and I learned a lot from her. She knows A LOT about what she teaches and she makes it really interesting. She does give a lot of work but it's not hard.

WOW she is a pain in the butt. Stay away. She keeps you allllllll night long. So if you watch TV buy a VCR. If you like (radical)hippies she is the professor for you.
i would not take her again...grades were based on 3 essays (10pg, 3-5pg, and a group essy final 12pg)...she is a hard grader. class wasn't so bad, material is interesting. i would not recommend her to anybody. she hurt my gpa :(

Insane amount of reading, If you do not agree with her liberal views she will give you poor grades. I wound up with an A but had to give her what she wanted and read and read and read everything she gave us. Way too much work for even a 300 level class. But if you are a liberal who is interested in it I'm sure you would like it

Prof. Morrell was very intimidating at first, but during the course of the semester the passion she exhibited for Juvenile Justice was very evident based upon each lecture. She brought so much experience and knowledge of the course material and made the course enlightening to all students.
If you are willing to work hard and learn take this professor. I learned more in one class with her than in most of college. SHe expects you to read and work, as she should. If you are a indifferent student don't take her, if you want to learn and be more aware of the world around you take her! She's a bright, passionate women
Her class is very interesting and fun. She tries to make you think on your own. Her hw's and tests were fair. She's such a passionate person that it shows when she teaches and of course that's always good.Im definitely taking her again!!! :]

Sociology of the Youth. ALOT OF READING. the reading repeat themselves and she repeats herself. interesting class though. No tests but alot of writing. the midterm is reading a 75 page article and then writing a 10 page paper on it. other than that it is an ok class. She must realize that her class is not the only one for most students...
She has to be the worst teacher at St. Josephs. She's a disorganized liberal who never has her facts strait. She teaches the wrong information and states it over and over again.

Lots of reading but she is wonderful. She's a little all over the place but she's interesting and keeps it fun. I really like listening to her, but if I miss a class I am totally lost the next time, so don't miss class.
The work load is monumental!!! My entire life is consumed by this class. Nicest lady and very interesting class, but the work load is so overwhelming.
be prepared to read A LOTTTTTT .. she is the worst teacher i have ever had .. it's a one hundred level course and i don't think she gets that. she treats it as a 200 or 300

This class is so interesting and she knows a lot. She is a bit one-sided but the material calls for it. A lot of reading but there is only like one question on each test pertaining to it, so you can get away with not reading as long as you know the other material in textbook. Gives you a lot of time with hw and anything due. Gives extra credit.
Interesting class, but yea she does give a crazy amount of work and it seems nearly impossible to get an A on her papers and test. I'm still not quite sure what shes looking for in order to get an A. but overall she makes it interesting
I've taken her a few times now. Shes a very nice person, who loves what she does. Although she gives way to much work for a commuter school where most of us are working at least 20-30 hours a week on top of taking a full course load.
Morrell's a great professor who is very passionate about what she teaches. the class is a little challenging, but it's interesting, so it's not too bad.
whack job, thinks her class is the only class you have. will assign 3 or four readings of 20 pgs or more to read before next class. taking notes is pointless because she goes on so many rants that when you look back to study them they will not be helpful.
Lets put it this way if you enjoy sociology, like to stay in class for the full 3 hours then take the class. She is very nice, but requires a lot of reading, 6 plus page papers, and keeps you till 9 15 every night. Very smart, if Sociology is your major take it..If not then dont
Being a Criminal Justice Major I've taking Dr. Morrell for several classes. She gives alot of readings but I absolutely LOVE her. She is extremely passionate about equality for ALL She is also a fair grader. Does give papers and exams depending on what course you taking her for
Very smart lady and what she has to say is usually interesting. But be prepared to work hard. She gives endless amounts of reading to do and the papers are extremely challenging. If you have the time to read and write ALOT then she is ok.
Extremely forgetful. All over the place. Intro class but gives work you would typically see in a 300 level class. Expresses her left wing ideologues all the time conflicting with most views those in law enforcement traditionally have. Only good thing about class is the movies and guest speakers which gives you a break of her voice.
She is very nice. but a litle bit all over the place. She assigns a lot of work but as long as you keep on top of it, it isnt that bad. She is actually very nice but very forgetful! OK to take her though. Not bad overall...
Very nice and helpful lady. She has a wide knowledge of the courses she teaches plus experience. She does give a lot of homework, essays, projects, and large amounts of extra reading including the text and many handouts. She is sometimes forgetful but I still found most of her classes very interesting. She also shows alot of movies!

EXTREMELY disorganized, forgetful, loses papers a lot. Very opinionated. Open to opinions but be prepared to have your ideas ripped apart. Requires graduate level reading assignments, and a lot of them. Essays are critiqued more for opinion than fact. Plays favorites. Class goes full 3 hrs, sometimes longer. Boring lecturer. Rarely shows for help.
(Sociology of Corrections)First time I've took her. I'm a great reader so her immense reading assignments hindered me, but I learned. She's like a Graduate school professor trying to teach at a College lol. Great professor just do what you have to do and you'll pass. Don't be afraid to ask her for help.
Very interesting class. Overall you learn about how youth have changed over the years from the 60s up until the 2000s. The reading is lengthy, but that's Morrell for you. A lot of movies that come with questions that are easy to answer if you pay attention to the movie. Also Morrell makes this class fun with her great drawings.
You will know Criminal Justice theories and be prepared for graduate school. Don't be lazy, get the most for your money and learn something. She is extremely knowledgable and passionate. Take her!!

She assigns many readings, so if you hate reading you better learn to like it. Lot of papers and web homework, and again a lot of reading. She gets annoyed when you don't read and can't answer questions about the readings. Overall, as long as you do the work and make an effort you will pass. Try to search for a different professor first if you can
unorganized,does not stay on topic, good luck trying to read what she writes on the board its like trying to decode the daVinci code, all over the place, assigns homework and then says it doesn't count. worst and most confusing professor I have had as my first semester
She gives so much reading home work. Her liberal ideology causes her to clash with you if you're conservative. As a cop i disagreed with most of her opinion based rants but kept my mouth shut. Would not recommend anyone take her if they have a busy schedule in life because her class will take up all your time.
Stay away if it all possible. Midterm paper, final research paper, 1 paper per week, a final, and a project. Lots of work and really hard grader. Not the experience I thought I would get with the class. I felt my opinion was shot down a lot.
She's awesome, just not a good teacher. Too much reading with what is required changing moment by moment. Her grading policy is unclear. Some get away with not showing up. There is nothing consistent. It was very disappointing as was she. She grades how she feels at that moment, she should really address her inability to focus.

Gives major attitude anytime you ask for help, made me feel like I was such a burden when I didn't understand a topic fully. Awful class and really hard to follow along because her thoughts are all over the place. Gives way too much homework and then is a harsh grader on it.

I've had the chance to have Dr. Morrell as both my professor and advisor, and she is terrible at both. Absolutely no grading criteria and just makes up numbers as she goes. Human version of Dory the fish. She's not helpful and never knows the answer to anything. Considers a "C" in her class a good grade. If you can, find another teacher's class.
Took Professor Morrell for about 4 classes now. I personally do well in her classes because she doesnt believe in giving tests or quizzes... however you do get a lot of papers, which has always been my strong suit as a student. Shes always available for phone calls which was helpful. Not the best with technology. She grew on me overtime lol.
This women is by far the worst professor I have had at St. Joes. She teaches Criminal Justice but hates cops ? She is a lunatic leftist. Totally all over the place and is so unclear on how she grades. 5 page paper every week. Absolute lunatic. Good luck..
This professor has given many students a difficult time in and out of the classroom. She is rude towards students, whether they are present in class or not. Does not provide clear grading rubric for assignments.

Professor provides work that is far beyond the description of the course. A 100 intro level course had course content that should be part of a 300-400 level course. Amount of work she prescribes is impossible to keep up with. Provides no explanation on content and assignments (inexcusable). Professor is awful/terrible, never take her courses!
She has a serious issue with every part of the CJ system. she's really just giving her opinions on stuff that shouldn't be opinionated. she's also hates cops and spends about half of each class talking about how bad cops are. she also never has a rubrics for grading papers. her hw are also confusing n never graded fairly. JUST AVOID HER!!
This professor is pro-criminal, anti-cop, and very left wing. Good luck, no professional grading system for each assignment. Each assignment can destroy your grade if its not to her opinion. Even, worse she part of the internship course and CJ400. Try to avoid if you can or go online.
The worst professor/advisor I've ever had. An absolute left-wing, pro-criminal nutjob. Say something that she doesn't like and say goodbye to your grade. I answered a question once, giving an accurate answer and she completely disregarded it by talking about clouds of all things. She runs seminar and the internships too, so good luck avoiding her.
