DO NOT take any class from this teacher. She can't differentiate between student confusion and student hostility; when people get confused she says nasty things to them. Once when most of the class had trouble understanding a quiz problem it made her so mad she had to leave the room for 20 min. Plus, she makes constant mistakes on the board.

Should not be teaching college math. She treats the class as though we were in high school and gets easily frustrated with simple questions of clarification. She is difficult to get ahold of for assitance; not reachable by phone or email. Classes very boring and she thinks many things are acts of hostility.

STAY AWAY from this instructor. I do not know how or why she is still teaching. Constantly makes mistakes, easily confused and cannot present the material in a clear and concise manner. The class ends up teaching themselves. She has some deep personal issues that reflect in the classroom. She can be very condescending when a question is asked.

Seriously deranged. She is some serious problems and they affect her ability to perform in the classroom. She is very easily confused, cannot stay focused and takes out her frustrations on students. Avoid her at all costs.

Barbara DOES NOT come to class prepared! Barbara used her personal life as an excuse for not performing her duties. She has trouble dividing her personal and business life which is reflected in the intense/negative classroom environment. I strongly recommend finding another instructor! Furthermore, she talks during exams.

This woman rates as the worst prof I have ever seen. She couldn't explain anything, and would constantly get problems wrong while trying to teach students how to do them. WORST EVER!!!

DO NOT take this professor. I am shocked that she is still teaching. She makes mistakes constantly and laughs it off, she has students get up and answer the questions of another student and doesn't even use her own lesson plan! She follows another teacher's worksheets. If you don't understand something she isn't helpful.

She was useless, hardly taught the class she usually had the other students explain a problem, which didn't help at all. She didn't relate to the students or care about their needs. When we didn't understand something she seemed to think we complaining. My suggestion is to find another teacher and avoid her at all costs.

If your first impression is that she's crazy, you are right. I have never had such a bad experience at PCC. She does not teach or allow students time to solve problems on their own in order to learn... She is not open to suggestion and attempts to control the class using intimidation. She clearly has issues with communication (and pride).

Barbara has a geat deal of difficulty communicating effectively with her students. As a result she seems to get upset with the class or often times an individual student. Barbaras personal seems to greatly imnpact her ability to function in the class room. I highly recomment that you find another instructor or wait for another quarter.

Although she may be a nice person Barb seems to hate her job. She complains about even having to be there and is not helpful with any questions you have. If you do take the class don't sit in the front row. I will not say why just because i am not that mean but just trust me! I would not recomend her to anyone

She is pretty nice but being friendly doesn't make you a good instructor. Basically when you ask her a question she can't answer it. I think the only reason i passed was because I used the DVD's that came with the book. Also, I went to tutoring. PLEASE DO NOT TAKE HER CLASS!! She will just make you mad or frustrated. I was both! AVOID this teacher AT ALL COSTS. Barbara actually brought me to tears in one class when I asked her a question. She gets confused all the time and is HORRIBLE at teaching students. She wouldn't go over things that students needed help with. I sat in the front of her class and asked minimal questions but received "GO ask a tutor as the answer". Worst teacher that I have ever had, marked several answers on a test that I had taken wrong. Hygiene was not a priority either, its hard to focus when your nose is on fire.

Hygiene would be my first issue, I was unable to focus on my schoolwork or ask too man questions because I didnt want her leaning over me. She mad the work a lot harder then it needed to be in several instances. She belittled a lot of the male students and treated us like children. Grading was not fair in several instances.

I took this class in hopes of improving my math skills but it was soon clear that I had made a huge mistake. She is rude to students when they ask for help. I don't think Barb should be teaching math. She made a lot of mistakes doing problems and got mad if someone pointed it out. She also got mad if you asked questions. She was frequently unable to answer questions. I think she doesn't like teaching math and takes it out on students.

Avoid at all costs. Do not take this class for any reason. It is unfair that this woman even still has her job. One of the worst math instructors I have ever had. She is very vague and grades harshly. After the 2nd test, literally half of the class dropped the course. I'm baffled as to how she still has her job.

She was unwilling to help with accommodations, and all of the test reviews were two-hour long study groups. If you have a social anxiety issue, I strongly recommend you do not take a class with this professor. She would also needlessly complicate the topic and become easily distracted.

Remarks made by teacher include "I know in some countries they teach it different, but try to keep up". The student was born in America with a slight Hispanic accent. Wow! BIG STICKLER ON PHONES. "My way or the highway" attitude. Sees one way of learning. A lot of "yeaaa, I don't understand. Sorry" given to struggling students. Go to TUTORING LAB.

I've never had a teacher make me feel as discouraged and disrespected as Barbara did. Worse teacher I've ever had in my entire life. Do not take her!! She's not culturally diverse, nor understanding towards hardships(ex:a death in my family). Wants your work done how she wants, doesn't matter if you get the answer right. Nit picky to the EXTREME.

I don't like her. She laughs at everything. Her teaching habits aren't very helpful and she teaches as if she is an elementary school teacher. She jumps around on topics and the material. She doesn't go in depth when doing lectures and it's not clear. I wouldn't reccomend her if you really want to learn something.

From the first class I could not stand her. Her teaching style makes me feel like Im in high school again. Shes always making corny jokes and its annoying. When Im doing my work she hovers and it makes me nervous. Very anal about how work is shown. Her tests never looked like the homework. This professor made me hate math more than I already do

Took Math60 with this instructor and found myself often frustrated at how distracted she would get, spending a fair amount of class time not actually teaching the subject. There were many times where she had to push assignments or sections to the next week creating A LOT of homework by the end of the term. DONT TAKE IF YOU WORK FULL TIME.

She moves way too fast, even when asked to slow down. She failed me because of a few notation errors. I did completely understand the process, and I showed that through my consistent correct answers, but she refused to take any of that into account. I would not recommend her especially to anyone with any type of neurodivergence.

dropped this professor before the 12th so i could swap courses. but oh my god, she is possibly the most unaccommodating, unhelpful, inflexible teacher i have had, next to zero communication outside of class. the course is extremely work-heavy, more than any course I've taken, especially for math 60. I will not be taking this course again

If you work full-time you'll drown in this class. Tells students to see a tutor instead of answering questions. Moves way too fast, and grades so harshly for wrong notation even if the answers are right. Had a clueless sub for the weeks before exams. I spent 12+hrs/wk on homework just to withdraw in wk 9 :( 2/10 would not recommend it.

Terrible. Seems ok as a person, but not as a teacher. Won't answer questions and refers you to a tutor if you don't understand. Not very tech savvy either. I'm not sure how anyone can work and take a full course load with how much work is given in this one class, if I recall correctly she expects you to work 20+ hours a week outside of class.

Probably a nice person, not a great teacher. Honestly expects way too much, grades super harshly, and calls us "unskilled" for not doing things the way she specifically wants us to. Maybe a good class if you're actually majoring on mathematics and want a challenge. Not a great class if you're working full time.

You can drop a letter grade on a test if she does not like the way you wrote out the problems. When people ask questions, and the terminology isn't 100%, she spends more time explaining why the terminology is wrong than she does actually answering the question. Takes too long to explain simple concepts, yet also skips important pieces. AVOID.

I took this class as a refresher. However, she made everyone print out the textbook, write notes on it, and review it. The "Textbook" was just some example problems plus a list of problems. But whenever anyone would ask a question or not understand, she would belittle them and not explain it at all. She treated her students as little kids. AVOID
