Unclear at times, not too difficult, problems with computers and hybrid courses
not very good with on-line classes, gives student very little feedback.
Does not return emails back quick enough. Professor was not helpful.
Gives a LOT of busy work but not impossible. Not exactly a pleasant experience. Did not learn much that I already did not know.
She is a very good teacher when you realize what she is looking for. Probably not great to take online, but I guess if you need to she is the only choice.

Class is called Marriage & Family, all you do is bul**** during class. For a social science elective I DEFF reccomend this one! Very easy, you just have to turn in response papers on assigned readings, midterm & final are take home
Hi, you are in college, you need to go beyond the reading and learn- that is what she wants! It is not spouting out lines from the text that she cares about, it is the stuff that should affect you as a human! It's sociology- people!!!
Can be really mean and extremely scary to talk to. Gave a 15 page research paper with impossible requirements to an introduction class. I would not recommend her EVER, not even to my worst enemy.
Took Marriage & Family & Contemp Social Issues, She is Awesome! there is a lot of reading and a lot of written assignments but its easy bs work. she is horrible w. replying to emails so best to speak to her in class. i didnt hand in 3 assignments but i was very outspoken in class and got A's.

I had her for two online classes; Intro to Soc. and American Min. Relations. I thought that the classes were very interesting but there is ALOT to read so get ready! SHe could return emails a bit quicker, other than that she was fine!
I like her. She is very outspoken and accepts her students thoughts and responses.

Had her couple of years ago online for the race class. She was not helpful at all. Her website was outdated by a semester. There was two due dates for items. Her tests were a mile long with an hour not a very good teacher got a C
Awesome professor, and probably one of the most influential ones at RV. There's a lot of reading involved but you do it at your own pace. Class mostly consister of discussing our feelings on different topics. Overall a great teacher and great class. Demanding, yet doable.
She isn't the easiest of teachers, so I found it hard to do as well as I wanted to in this class. But her classes were very interesting, and she's one of the teachers I will remember at RVCC.

Class was fun, but lacked focus at times. Interesting conversations during class. I often felt confused about what exactly the assignment were.

A lot of reading, work, notes, and studying for the 50 question mult choice exams.You must start the term paper as soon as you get it cause it's very difficult to do and very long(mine was 13 pages)and if you don't you wont have a prayer to write a good paper.Take good notes!I know 2 people that took her online class and it was a joke compared this

Worst Teacher on the planet. She always pushes her political agenda. Expects way to much for an Into Class! 15 page essay. Quiz EVERYDAY (unless 49ers win). We skip chapters and then see them on the tests! DO NOT TAKE. I REPEAT, DO NOT TAKE. In her notes (that she makes you buy) she puts her name with other Sociologists. Lame! AVOID AVOID!

I would totally not recommend that anyone take a class with this lady. She is a terrible teacher and makes you buy a huge pack of her notes, does not go over all the notes in the package, then puts questions on quizzes and tests on material that she did not cover in class or in the book. She's lazy and does not know how to teach.

Prof. Seater is really nice. I got a b+ in the class. I do not know why everyone is complaining about the quizzes if you read the book then you should pass all of them. The purpose of buying her notes is to help you. If you fill in the info before class you should not fail the quizzes. Everyone must be mad because they received a poor grade.
Note: if you are a LAZY individual, you will fail this class. yeah it's a lot of work but it's college, get over it. i got an A because I worked hard and sought her help often. She really enjoys helping her students outside of class and honestly, if someone fails, it is their own fault. I would recommend her if someone is really looking to learn.
She is a great teacher, if you take good notes and listen in class you will do fine. Also if you do the easy homework assignments she give you you'll do great. If you're lazy don't bother taking the class, you do need to pay attention!

I took the online course, while it was a lot, and I mean A LOT, of work it was not a difficult class. There was a lot of required postings and essays but the grading was easy and I was able to get an A. Like I said though there is a lot of work and the course is very time consuming.
She's known as a tough Professor, but she really isn't that bad as long as you hand everything in on time.
Excellent instructor. Very funny. Uses humor to make points. Will work with you to help you do a good term paper. Cares about her students.
This was by far the most time consuming class I have taken. I took it online and there was a 700 word paper due almost every week along with essay tests bi-weekly. The amount of reading was insane! I could hardly keep up but managed to get an A. Make sure you have the time and willingness before signing up for this class.
Informative Class, applies, relates subject material to the every day world, Great sense of humor, respectful of students, BUT students need to be responsible for keeping up with materials given and readings on time to make the most out of the class experience. Had her online. Absolutely no teacher feedback. Lots of reading but you could use your book since it was online. Papers often but if you do the work I don't think she grades hard. If you like feedback like me you may not like her. Even though I taught myself I still got an A.
had her for american minority relations. we got at least 4 syllabuses and you could not count on any of them. you will get enough papers to fill more than one 3" notebook for AN INTRO class. learned nothing at all. NEVER TAKE
Took American Minority Relations class with this professor. The class was terribly boring, we went over a immense amount of information, and the tests were lengthily and hard. I got relatively good grades on my tests/assignments in the class but only received D as a grade overall in the class. I think this was because we had very different opinions
good teacher, dont get on her bad side. never takes attendance. notes are always on power point slides. 1st test in class, 2nd test take home, and third test inclass. but all the test you are allowed to use any notes taken during class.
I was a little hesitant in taking her class because she is known to be a tough professor. But once I was in her class, I realized she is not that bad after all. She's very respectful and her class is very interesting. As long as you hand in your work on time, you should be fine. Make sure you follow directions on the hw because she deducts point
I loved this professor. She was always willing to lend a helping hand with an assignment if the student had a question. She tool a great interest in her students and helping them suceed in the course.
After a semester with her, I have to say she is truly a really NICE lady. She loves what she does.Here is the breakdown. She gives a 12 page paper, and 4 open book tests. One of which she drops the lowest grade. and 5 extra credit opportunities. As well 8 -1 page papers to hand in. Its not bad! I got an A. Take GOOD NOTES! use her study guides!!!
She's a very nice person. Her classes were interesting,but she really doesn't teach. She shows PP's and films. You need to read the textbook and take notes in her outlines, which you use to take open book exams. Exam are complex,but she give lots of extra credit.She's very helpful if you need it. I ended up with an A.
This woman makes an easy topic hard. She likes to fight and pull "garbage" out of "herself" (if you know what I mean) Its an easy class if you do the work EXACTLY the way she wants it done. If youre a girl, easy mode, if youre a guy, forget it.

I took her Sociology course online in the summer, and it required a lot of work for a short period of time. She is a fair grader, but not so fair if you encounter technical problems with an online test, unless you go to a secure testing site. She can be very demanding, but if you can stick to the course you will learn a lot.
Professor Seater is a very nice woman and obviously does her research. Her lectures are are pretty interesting and involve the class. She requires 8 papers. 4 tests all open note. Lastly a 12-15 page term paper. I wouldn't recommend talking this professors class if you have other more important classes, too much busy work for intro class.
Demanding and set in her ways. In a 6-week OL course she required 10 research papers, 4 open-book essay tests, and multiple discussion posts on up to 4 topics a week. RVCC should enforce guidelines to avoid workload imbalances for intro courses. She accepts no excuses for things beyond your control, yet gives excuses for her own lateness.
She was reallllly strict. She had a lot of papers she gave out and didnt really care for her students. She had us do a lot of work. It was unbearable. The benefit was her tests were open notebook but there was never enough time to finish.

She is strict, is always right even if she isn't. Very complicated exams that are heavily weighted. Little opportunity to make up points. Doesn't care about her students or try to get to know them. A students get C's if they are lucky. Too bad this class was mandatory.
Kinda hard class, but she is extremely nice and extremely helpful. Test are kinda heavy, but as long as you do her study guide you should be fine. Term paper is very long but as long as you see her, she is willing to help, and you will pass for sure. Overall great professor and interesting class
Barbara was an amazing professor. She is as real as it gets, and has a passion for knowledge and teaching. It's pretty simple- go to class, read the text book, and complete the work. She is more than happy to assist you if you have any questions or concerns, and helped me on multiple occasions. Participation is key. I loved her and her class!JM
Professor Seater is one tough cookie, but she is very interesting and funny. Her tests are difficult, but as long as you complete the study guides and read the chapters prior to the test, you should do fine.There is a final paper due at the end of the semester but if you make time to meet with her, she will help you immensely.
Awful Proffesor, just absolutley terrible. Never have i ever met a professor that did not care for her students one bit. Seater is illiterate and uncooperative. Her work load is obscene. She has spelled out in an email i recieved from her that she will only pass the students she feels deserve to pass. Do not take her if you dont have too!
I like the lecture but she's very biased. Gives us 20-30 pges of guided notes per chapter that we go maybe over 5 in class. The rest you gotta do by yourself. Big workload. Very confusing about when assignments were due, but overall, if you put in the effort and do the packets she gives you should do fine.
Terrible professor. Demands more work than all of my other classes combined, including a mandatory field trip you have to pay for. You learn nothing in class so read the textbook like crazy and try to fill in her packets if you want to pass. Don't take classes with her if you don't have to.
Lectures are very understandable and interesting. Note packets are available and all exams are open note. Exams are nearly impossible to pass, even if you know everything on the study guide. 12 page term paper is assigned and probably the most stressful assignment ever. Good professor, hard grader.
The professor is all right if you like taking a lot of notes. Most of the notes you have to do it at home. Though she lets you use the notes for her exam. She gives a moderate amount of work. If you like taking notes then go for it.
DR. Professor Seater was an amazing professor. She opened my eyes to so much. I don't think I will ever come across a professor who will have that type of an impact on my life. Thank you professor, and I will be taking another class of yours.
STICKLER. No excuses/no exceptions to literally anything. I work fulltime and the night shifts and she was not heartfelt about this. No help, everything is what it is in her course. However, nice woman.
Took class online she gave a pretty decent amount of work but it was all very easy, and I received 100s on most of those assignments. However her tests are worth a ton of points and if you don't do well on them you will do poorly in the class. I was fighting for a C and she curved the exam. I wound up with a B not sure how though.
Prof. Seater is a very interesting character but is extremely interesting in sociology. She gives long packets of fill in the blanks which you take notes on from her lecture power points and you can use them on the exam. There was one paper that had to be at least 12 pages but pick a cool topic and its fine. Overall not too bad.
This Professor changed my outlook on life. Because of her class, I now have more clarity within my own life.
You'll have to print out over 200 pages of her notes she has online, take notes from the book & go to class and take notes on her lectures. u have two short assignments per unit, which are very easy to forget about. Her test are all multiple choice and open not, but they're ridiculously hard. Sociology used to be my favorite subject, now I hate it
She gives study guides for her tests but they don't cover everything on the test. It might cover about 60% of the test.
Be prepared to do a lot of note taking. She gives huge packets to take notes on from the bookher lectures. It seems like a lot, but pay attention, and fill out these packets! You can use them on the test and if you take good enough notes, you'll get an A. She can be very helpful so don't be afraid to ask her for extra help. Overall, not too bad.

This professor is a mess! She doesn't prepare lectures and is so self centered. If you're african american you will get an A as she loves that culture.
There are 3 open note tests, which sounds great, except the note packets she provides are absolutely terrible and half the material is out of order- if it's even in the book at all. Oh, yeah, and it's over 300 pages of notes which MUST be handwritten. There is also 1 paper, which is 12 PAGES LONG in an introductory course.
WORST PROFESSOR I HAVE HAD AT RVCC. SHE DOEN'T CARE ABOUT HER STUDENTS! I WOULD NOT RECOMMEND HER AT ALL. SHE GIVES BORING LECTURES AND EXTREMELY DIFFICULT TEST WHEN SHE DOESN'T EVEN COVER TOPICS.
seater was one of the rudest and most bitter professors I've ever met. she gives 3 impossible exams and even though they are open notes she doesn't go over any of that material in class. she also spends most of the lecture talking about personal experiences and although her stories are interesting it takes away from note time. i don't recommend.

She is the worst teacher I've ever had. I had an 89 in here class and she entered it as a C. When I asked her about this she said she would not change it. It's like she couldn't be bothered to do me a favor by doing her job. Never, ever take her.

do not take this professor. i signed up for a different professor but got switched last minute (probably because everyone knows better than to sign up for her class). all test questions are hypothetical scenarios in which multiple answers could be correct so you have to understand her way of thinking to get the right answers. 12 page term paper too

this class is a joke, her lectures take up the whole class time but are completely unrelated to the information we need. she gives open notes tests but barely even talks about what's on the notes, just a horrible professor she's very disorganized, isn't helpful in getting the students the best grade possible and I just would not recommend her.
Don't take her class. Colleges used to be the place for free thinking and an exchange of ideas. In her class the world revolves around her and only she is right

Don't take her for sociology there are much better teachers at rv for that. But she's so unorganized. What she talks about in class is NOT on the tests at all. She grades the online assignments really hard and takes points off for simple things. She's the only one that teachers minority relations so good luck

She is very honest and upfront, which I respect. Unfortunately, she is very strict and straight forward so much that someone that is extremely shy like me is too nervous to talk to her. I was very intimidated to speak up and ask questions. Very strict teacher.
The only thing that makes me regret taking this class is the 12-15 pg paper she assigns. She says she doesn't think anyone should graduate not knowing how to write a term paper. She's right. However, she offers very little guidance to the class on how to write it. Otherwise a good professor. Tests are open notes. Approachable and friendly woman.
The tests are not difficult as long as you TAKE NOTES and read. She gives you the outlines. The people who fail because they don't take notes can't blame her for their laziness. She lectures rather slowly sometimes and doesn't cover everything on the test, but reading the chapters can make up for it.
I really didn't like Seater, and the end of the semester essay was excessive. I ended up doing ok in her class but I really had to work my ass off. Definitely too much work for an intro class. She can also be kind of offensive.

Half of the kids in my class had dropped and I wish that I followed their lead. Her tests were advertised as open-note, but they're also insanely impossible. Oh, and make sure you don't miss one of the tests because you then have to pass the even more impossible final as she doesn't allow you to make up tests- even if you were in the hospital.

She was one of the best professors that I had. She is very funny. She worked with me on my term paper and promised that I would write better. My term paper is great. She is very passionate about teaching and activism. She is demanding. If we don't cover the chapter she requires us to read it. I worked hard but learned.
I'm only writing this so that if you are someone who has a serious IEP you don't take her. She doesn't understand and/or care if you have any learning disability. Some students can handle this professor but she will not go out of her way to help you. When I needed help the most she kicked me out of her office b/c she didn't have the patience
If you're going to take her class without actually understanding the content, be ready to copy the entire textbook into a packet that she allows you to use on exams. Her class is NOT an easy A unless you make an effort to understand broader concepts. She also assigns a term paper- give yourself enough time to do it and go to her for help on it.

Guys all you have to do is memorize the whole text book, take pages and pages of notes, answer all the study guide questions which will not be on the tests, recite poetry, write a 20 paged essay, tattoo the textbook on your body, go to Nigeria, copy down the ten commandments, and have an existential crisis. srsly guys lol shes an easy teacher!1!1
As oppose to allowing for the free exchange of ideas you are forced to conform to what Seater believes is the right answer. Any dissenting opinions are quickly silenced. For my class she had us go on a mandatory trip to Ellis Island as part of our grade, here is the catch she never calculated it into our final grade. Overall one of the worst at RV.
I think that she was an average prof. She is very clear with instructions and gives a reasonable amount of work per week. She gives good feedback which helped me a lot with trying better the next time.
Professor Seater is a sweetheart! Shes so nice and helpful. We literally did absolutely nothing in class. Her tests are open notes every time! She gives a lot of extra credit!!!! Like ur grade will go up like crazy if you do those extra credits. We also had ONE AND ONLY term paper. If you go to her office hours shell do half of ur work for you!
If I wanted to pay to hear someone's opinion on a topic I'd be supporting YouTubers that use patreon. Instead I paid for a professor that would rather blabber on about her opinion instead of have an active discussion. An intro class should be about learning not telling me how you think it should be..... Honestly not worth my time or yours.
If you disagree with her on anything then your opinion will be entirely wrong to her. I felt like I retained none of what she taught because it was her constantly ranting about her political opinions and anything else, I just found her to be a close minded person because she was never open for discussions and I felt that the class suffered from it.
Professor Seater is great! She is a strong-minded woman and definitely plays devil's advocate in class discussions. She may be intimidating at first but MEET WITH HER it makes a huge difference! Don't procrastinate on the term paper and if you meet with her she'll get you all your sources. Exams are open note, quizzes can be taken multiple times.
Her lectures are absolutely horrible-she drags on and on about stories you "don't need to know" as you fill out her horribly constructed note outlines. She lets you use them on the test, but don't be fooled her "critical thinking" questions are just poorly written and oftentimes don't coincide with what is taught in class. Will take tons of time.

Says we shouldn't graduate without knowing how to write a term paper, doesn't teach us how to write one. Overall terrible experience. 0.01/10
Had her for sociology last semester, gives TONS of packets with notes for you to fill out while she lectures. Extremely long term paper at the end of the semester because she wants us to know how to write a term paper by the end of the class then proceeds to not tell the class how to write it.
Professor Seater's lectures are extremely boring. She barely talks about the subject and makes too many inappropriate jokes. If you have another professor for the course, take them. Out of 1 and a half-hour lecture classes, she barely taught us anything. if you're taking her class, get ready to read and memorize the entire textbook.
I was originally disappointed I didnt get my original Professor for intro to sociology, but Im glad I had Seater! Shes a sweet lady. Checked up on us a lot during the coronavirus and made sure we werent working too hard. I will say some of her assignments are hard to find in canvas (look under grades!!!) but that was the only problem I had.
She doesn't offer powerpoints and makes you read the entire textbook in order to take a quiz. There is hardly enough time for quizzes and the right answers are solely based on her opinion. I am a hard worker and I don't mind going the extra mile but I wish I'd had dropped this class. There are plenty of other professors to choose from.

Please, I'm begging you don't want to take any of her courses. She's extremely difficult. I wished I checked her rating on here before taking her class, she takes off points for the littlest things. She makes me want to rip my hair out. PLEASE DON'T TAKE HER CLASS.

she has absolutely no care in the world about problems outside of class, for example my assignments are always late but she knows why because I would always let her know.. but she is still failing me, giving me no credit for anything at all. I do not suggest taking this professor.
Professor Seater was willing to help me, but completely screwed me over in the end. I was doing very well in the class and participated, took notes, and did every assignment. However, she decided to make up her own grading system, her A is a 93-100, and since I received a 92 in the class I received a B+, she's a very unfair grader.
Barbara was an awesome teacher to have in-person and online. If youre looking to learn and actively participate, shes the one. Shes not a tough grader you just have to do the work. I had her for sociology and contemporary social problems. She made zoom classes fun and like a podcast. She wanted all her students to pass.
If you work hard and want to get an A, do not take this professor. She is a very unfair grader and some of her final test questions are very confusing. I read all these bad reviews before taking her class and I wished I listened to other student's advise. I lost my sleep over this class and now I'm not even sure if I'll get a B. I just want to cry.
Dr. Seater is a very kind professor, she truly cares about her students.
Her "due dates" did not align her syllabus. For an example, her due date on the syllabus would say due in 01/05/2022 however, the assignment link would say due 01/01/2022. My classmates would say things like, " I rather fail and take it next semester." I felt so sad for them. I would not recommend Professor Seater .
Prof. Seater was a tough grader for essay assignments and would take off A LOT of points for the little mistakes, no matter the quality of the essay. She was judgmental of some of my responses during discussions which is unacceptable as a teacher. In the end, her grading system is what really messed me up. I do not recommend taking her.
Took this class in the Spring of 2022' She would lecture heavy and long and half the time would not even talk about what was on our packets or on canvas. She was very bias and liberal and certain subjects and would often either argue or ignore students trying to debate with her.
I took her for an online course and she responded to all me emails days later. She was a very tough grader although my work always met the criteria. She's insanely liberal and if you have opposing opinions prepare to lose points. She's a terrible teacher and doesn't deserve to be one. DON'T TAKE HER!
Took the class as an online course, and I regret it. She does not respond to any emails, is extremely liberalminded will take points off for your own opinion; take points off assignments for no reason. she took points off due to providing evidence to argument. Do not take her if you are expecting to teach yourself with no guidance whatsoever.
she's the worst all she does is talk the whole tie your in her class and her office is a mess she would easily loose your test. I wish the class was more interactive because the material she would cover was interesting but it's so easy to get lost in her just reading from the slides. I would not take her again
Absolutely the worst prof. I have ever had by a long shot. She has a very bad hearing problem which leads to repeating a question 3 times and her giving up on trying to understand you. Totally impossible to reach, didnt bother to learn my name (I went to office hours every week), and very nasty when confronted. Overall 0/10 DONT TAKE HER.
The course so boring and slow. The absurd amount of notes she gives has nothing to do with the exams. She assigns a ridiculous 12-15 page term paper & although claims to be willing to help, she is hard to reach outside of class. She spends every class babbling for the entire hour and 20 mins & always brings her own political views into the lecture.
I would not be able to fit enough words to describe this professor. Accessible outside of class, yet extremely unorganized, will not answer emails, and so many people complain about her. Everyday is a lecture and I felt like I learned nothing. She would often be late to her own class. Very disappointed. Do not take her class.
Nice teacher, heavy on lectures, open-note (3) exams, no final. 12-15 page term paper due, with semester to work on it. Easily accessible outside of class, if you ask for help, she will help you (so please ask )for help. 2-3 quizzes weekly based on textbook readings, assigned as homework.
This is our FIRST day of class, but really the second. The first day of spring semester, she was sick (NO EMAIL OR ANYTHING), but whatever life happens right. No apologies from her. She showed up late to this class and walked out to answer text messages for 10 minutes. Now she's spewing her liberal views onto us. I'm definitely dropping this class.
Expresses extreme Liberal views during class whenever she wants. She discusses nonsense and decides to skip portion of the notes because on quote "doesn't feel like talking about that right now". Makes statements that aren't true and gets angry when a student calls her out. No laptops allowed in class because she doesn't like to be disproven.
I wish I just dropped this class while I could. I liked Seater at first, but towards the end of the semester, she ratted me out about my term paper I ended up being unable to complete due to personal events in front of students taking her final exam. Her quizzes are also impossible and her lectures are too political. Don't take her.
I would not recommend anyone to take her. You will learn nothing. She is wrong and outdated. Her opinions and voice are the only sounds she wants to hear. She doesn't have any teaching skills. She could care less about anyone but herself. Super, extremely disappointed as Sociology could, would and should be a great subject. But not with her!
It seems as if she would grade your assignments based on if she agrees with your beliefs or thoughts. Shes very old school and liberal. Im not sure what I learned in this online class, just essays and discussion posts every week. Shes a rude lady. Contacted the dean about her.
I love this professor. She is easily accessible outside of class and cares about her students. There are open note tests and an assigned term paper due at the end of the semester. She is very understanding and will help whenever you need. Her lectures are usually interesting, and she tries to connect with her students.
DO NOT DO IT!!!!! This lady is the most biased and liberal person I have ever met. She aims to spread these beliefs of hers and that about it. I only learned about her family and some other liberal stuff that's it I learned nothing else. She's confusing. I think she confuses herself. Get ready to teach yourself!
Had her online for intro to sociology and I should've read these reviews first. Almost every assignment she would comment that it was great and then give me a 70 or 80 with no explanation. She barely ever gave grading criteria on her assignments as well. Some assignments were extremely political/irrelevant and shouldn't have been discussion posts.
Professor Seater is hit-or-miss - her lectures can be interesting, but she tends to veer into personal opinions. The workload is heavy, with lots of notes and a long term paper. Thankfully, resources like unstuck AI helped me stay on top of the material.
It started out rough the first week, I made sure I did citations in every essay moving forward and made sure I cited correctly. From there out it was pretty simple. If you put your thoughts into writing and answer the questions in your writing you'll do fine. It was easier than English 1. Not sure why she gets such a bad rating she graded nicely.

Seater is... ok. Not unfair, but not exactly an understanding person either. She is clearly very politically biased and I suspect some of the highly outrageous stories she told during the lectures were completely fabricated. The class's fairly heavy workload and looming 15-page term paper made me decide to drop it. I wouldn't take this one, friend.
I'm taking Tech Lit with Professor Seater and, frankly, it's a waste of my time. She doesn't know how to use a computer, which makes class extremely frustrating. It's pretty ironic that I have a Tech Lit professor who doesn't know how to pause a YouTube video. If you want to preserve your sanity, take Tech Lit with any other professor.
Leaving her constantly preaching / pushing her political beliefs onto the entire class aside, the excessive amount of notes provided during class rarely reflected what was on the exam and the required 15 page term paper at the end of the semester cemented the fact that I would never take this class again.

Awful experience, very long boring lectures that often veer into personal life. Had a passing in the family and she emailed, “don't forget your quiz on Friday.” Her study guides are lazy definitions, nothing that pertains to quiz. Even if you follow term paper instructions she'll rank your grade. Oh and the term paper is 12 pages. Worst prof at RV
I looked at reviews before this class made me fear her, she doesn't like phones, she isn't flexible with students who don't come to her office hours, she gives everyone fair time for exams, lots of papers but those r ur open notes on them and extra credit. Term paper 10-12 pages long. Overall very misunderstood she's great and supportive.
I normally never post on a teach but I have straight A's in all my classes and now my gpa is a 3.8 because she gave me a C+ and I did okay with the quizzes and went to her so many times for my paper and she helped me a lot with it but only graded it an 80 when I check it with her so much, so frustrating definitely wanna save someone from gpa drop.
actually the worst professor ever, 12-15 page term paper for an intro level class with prerequisites that if you dont meet you fail the paper, and if you don't turn in an acceptable paper, you automatically fail the class regardless of your current grade! ridiculous!!! this is ontop of the 2 weekly quizzes she assigns!!!
i saw a comment on another professor, and i dont remember who wrote it but it said "i never wore my seatbelt in hopes that i would get into a crash and never have to see this professor" and that perfectly sums up barbara seater. shoutout to whoever wrote that i forgot the name
She does not provide a due date on the term paper, she doesn't know how to use a computer, it is ridiculous, Why would you make a 12 page paper and put nowhere on canvas of the due date, Why is there a canvas submission with NO DUE DATE ATTACHED?????? Then say no late papers? Well genius how is the paper suppose to be late if there is no DUE DATE
Her in-class material doesn't translate to the quizzes given on Canvas nor the important exams, forcing you to look elsewhere and teach yourself — if you feel like doing that, which clearly I did not. Her lessons include the same five stories every week and overwhelming dread as you struggle to keep your eyes open.
Barbra is extremely misunderstood. She's not some scary mean cut row women these reviews make her out to be, yes the 12 page essay is overwhelming but she will sit down and do it with you willingly. She gave me amazing feedback and sat with me every single day during her office hours to write it. I got a 110. Love her down!!,
