Great professor with an extensive knowledge of mathematics. Makes the class increadibly enjoyable and finds ways to make the material clear to her students. The class is not hard if you follow the reviews and her homework assignments. Wonderful teacher.

Really hard. You must study and do the homework. There's pretty much no way you can pass the class if you do not do these things. But MS.Sharp is really nice and is an effective professor. If you have failed Algebra once or twice and are really serious about passing and are willing to work hard take her.

Prof. Sharp is the Mary Poppins of math.She is very nice & has a pleasant attitude. She teaches math as if we were new 2 life; makes it very clear & understandable. This class is very hard. However, She makes lectures very clear and almost easy to understand.. She does gives a lot and i mean a lot of homework but if you do it you should pass the exams. What an excellent teacher! Homework is a requirement to learn not for her class but it will help to pass and build a foundation. She did over emphasized not having the college algebra foundation but overall it is a hard class to pass but she made it appear to be as if I was taking MAT1033. Professor sharp is really cool. Math is so hard but she really does make it easy. We did my math lab which is an online component that will teach u every aspect of the class. This was the int. Algebra class that i took. There are 5 tests and then the final. The final is optional depending on ur grade and the homework and practice tests online factor into ur test grade. I once got a 90 on a test but did not do the hw or prac test. Brought my grade to an 80 on the test. Not alot of hard work.

VERY VERY challenging class. tests aren't multiple choice, but her style of teaching is so crystal clear! you have math lab homework that is a good study guide. and plus she emails study guides that will have nearly identical problems on the test. test isn't mult.choice, but with good amounts of studying, you'll do great! she's really nice

Man, her class is hard! Im currently in college algebra. Her teaching style is amazing and like no other. But she's not a one to give good grades to folks who don't try. Showing work on tests are mandatory, she likes to see if you got the problem the way she taught you. And she NEVER ever will give mult.choice That word doesn't even exist to her

She is so hard I was one of those students that really tried in her class and on the first test there were 16 F's and 1 A.. obviously there is a problem she needs to go easy on the first test or something cause i had to drop the class and i had a tutor from the beginning of day 1.

on the tests, beware that even if you got the right answer...if she sees that the work you did to get that answer wasn't the way she taught you, she will take points off, or mark it wrong. tests arent multiple choice. but she's very good at what she does and very clean and organized and perfect. love her, despite her peculiarness...if that's a word

She definitely doesn't live up to her reputation of being "super easy" like many of the reviews state. Her tests are very difficult! She's a harsh grader. She is very nice though, and has a sense of humor.

my first time writing a review. i must say that of both the sems i've taken w/ her, she is not mean or harsh. beware of multiple reviewers, the poor reviews look to be from the same person who is obviously upset. some teachers aren't for everyone. but from what i see, she does live up to her rep. some ppl expect to sympathy and to be babied.

I was worried at first when she said that she doesn't have multiple choice tests - HOWEVER she is very forgiving on the test if she can see that you tried. Homework was on MML which was helpful and easy. She gives you a lot of time to do homework and prep for tests. Make sure you study and you should do fine.

She's a tough grader on her tests prepares you by telling you exactly what she's looking for what to expect. She gives opportunities to better your grade through easy quizzes. If you skip class all the time and never want to do hw, you'll have a hard time in the class. HW isnt mandatory but it reeeally helps. Shes a great professor.

I loved this class, she's a wonderful teacher but I ended up having to withdraw because I failed the first test (my own fault, not hers. Ended up getting high B's on all the others) She's wonderful, very sweet and listens to you when you need help. Very clear in teaching as well and her SI is wonderful as well. I'd take her again.

She is an amazing teacher who gives very detailed steps on how to solve her problems. Most of her lectures could be found under her palm beach account which allows easy access in case you forget how to solve a problem. Also, she does grade a little difficult but it is not as bad as some people say.

Very picky with grading and how the problems should be done. Found this very tedious at first, but turned out to be very beneficial. This attention to detail will be beneficial in higher level math courses. Only grades for summer semester were quizzes and tests. Attendance is a must. A missed day could result in missing a section or 2 of notes.

Best professor at Palm Beach State College! You definitely have to work for your grade but it's not too hard. She gives you the answer keys for the quizzes and helps you understand the lesson as much as possible. 1000000/10!!!! Definitely will make calculus easier for you!!

Very fun professor, but the Precalculus and Trigonometry course is a bit of a monster. Lots of work and a big time commitment. Homework isn't graded, but is pretty much required to pass. Do the homework she gives. You'll have a lot to remember on exams, and practicing really does drive it home. Ask her for help and form study groups with others.

I love Prof. Sharp. She graded pretty tough, but she did it to ensure you won't make the same mistakes on future tests or in the next math class. She is super caring and always makes sure to let her class know that she always available outside of class. She provides a lot of chances to get a good grade (EXTRA CREDIT)!!

Barbara is an amazing person and professor. She is very passionate for what she does however, MAC1147 is a combined course with pre calc and trig. If you are going to take this class I recommend you take this class and maybe one other and THATS IT. She will test you almost every two weeks and you will have to memorize quizzes. A lot of homework!!!!

Professor Sharp is one of the best math professor I've ever had. Her notes are thorough, and her lectures are always engaging. Homework isn't graded but practice enough and you WILL see a positive result. Lots of time and effort must be invested in this class, especially if you don't have a strong foundation in algebra. I took her for pre-calculus, voluntarily , (My SAT score placed me in Cal-Analytic Geometry I) Very nice professor, but a harsh grader. no extra credit on the test, and the test is the only thing that matters. A lot homework but she never checks it, it for your own good.

Sharp gives clear instruction. In her combined Precalc/Trig class, material is taught at a FASTER pace, a lot more material in a shorter period of time. She's a math "purist" meaning she will take test points off for formatting details, but she will also give points if you do not end with correct answer but had the correct work. It works both ways.

She's really nit-picky about grading and only does it because it's wrong and she wants what is best for us. Doesn't let us use phones in class either. She is really nice and a wonderful teacher. If you're looking for a class you can just skip this isn't for you. You may be able to teach it to yourself, but you will get cut by her if you don't go.

She's a VERY good teacher and she really does care about how everyone is doing in her class. She explains math very well and this is coming from someone that used to get Cs in math class. I got an A in her class but I did have to work for the grade. She is definitely one of the best teachers I've ever had and I would take any of her classes again.

Professor Sharp is the reason I enjoy math today. I was horrible at math and was dreading this class. The way she structured her class and taught the material was organized and efficient. I am now taking her again for Trig and have since switched my major to math. She is a tough grader and she asks a lot of you, BUT I believe it's worth it.

She is a tough grader however she does it for your understanding and ability to the little details that will help you! GREAT PROFESSOR! would highly highly recommend her!

like I was saying I ended up with a B but if I really gave it 100% I couldve ended up with an A no problem, she gives out a lot of homework but if u do it on time and dont let it pile up youll be just fine, she makes it seem like u cant have a life if u take this class but I passed pretty well and I partied like crazy, good luck ppl

She's good at teaching. Strict grading. You need to show an excessive amount of work. Class was stressful but it wasn't that hard. She answers your questions when u need help with something.

Before you take this class... know that there will be 50 homework assignments, 25+ quizzes, 6 tests, and 2 final exams. Other than that it's pretty easy. Prof. Sharp made it seem like it was impossible to get an A, if you were taking other courses or had a life. But I was taking 4 other classes and worked 30hr/week. And I turned out fine.

she's a good teacher can kinda be annoying at times but it's only because she means well all you have to do to pass is do the homework on time because its auto graded and get maybe a C or higher on the tests to maintain a passing grade in class but overall she's a good teacher to have and i surprizingly liked her

She's very understanding when it comes to missing. Either go on zoom or watch the recording if you miss class. Overwhelmed at times by the amount of work due to other classes. Make sure to do test reviews, and study before each quiz. Watch the recording before class if you want, she teaches through recording. Overall, good professor!

She gives A LOT of homework and there's literally a quiz every week after the first week of class. She is that type of professor that wants you to do the problems on the test HER WAY, including specific details, it gets annoying cuz she will take off points for anything it's not done her way. My advise: LEARN the unit circle and watch the videos.
