One of the best classes I have taken at Hunter. Makes the topic of religion very applicable and interesting. Is great at explaining hard concepts. Yes, she is hard, but this class is completely worth it. You can rewrite each paper and can go to her office hours to talk about your paper before you rewrite it. Fair grader and great readings.

Real bad. She allows no room for any individual thought. You pretty much just write down her perspective on the readings without question. DO NOT QUESTION if you take this class. There's only one answer to everything which is bad for this class because so much of it is philosophical. Avoid this class...

Professor Sproul is surprisingly very effective teacher. She is effective because at the end of the course you become a decent writer if not great. However, she demands good deal of hard work in your paper. There is always chance to redeem your paper. I managed to get A- despite starting from C+ in the first paper. But condition you must work hard

When I first took this Asian Religions course, I did not know that it would change the way I look at the world. Professor Sproul's lectures were very thought provoking and fascinating. Yes, she is a tough grader when it comes to writing but if you just refer to your notes for the writing assignments, you will get a higher grade :)

Take notes of what she says and slap it onto your papers, easy A or B. Literally not allowed to have your own thoughts. Weekly homework of 1 page writing, total of 5 or 6 papers. Super rude. Warning: breathes heavily and smacks lips often. Stingy about attendance, if u come in late shell stop the class to talk to you. Very. Rude. Do not take

She isn't as bad as everyone says. Yes, she has her moments and we did have assignments due every week but she's good at what she does. Just take notes and write about what she says (different opinion than what she said in class will cost you your grade). She's willing to work with you if you reach out. Don't be late, she will call you out.

Professor Sproul is a very kind and caring teacher, lectures are interesting. There's no quizzes or tests. Just weekly response papers to the readings (which I never read but we would go over them in class). This class is paper heavy and you probably wont get a good grade on the first few but she allows revisions on all the papers.

You will be reading and writing a lot, but it will be worth it. Professor Sproul is warm, funny, and inspirationalshe really cares about her students and is invested in them understanding complicated (yet simple!) material. Class discussions among the best I've had at Hunter, and her transition to virtual was the smoothest of any of my profs.

Sproul is the most amazing professor I ever had. She is Hilarious, cares about the students, and extremely wise. She's flexible with the timing you turn your papers in BUT, YOU MUST understand the core believes/ideas well which is challenging. You aren't writing about your interpretation, but what devotes had believed and practiced over the years.

Honestly an amazing professor. She actually cares about students and wants them to understand the material, not just memorize random ideas. She made really difficult concepts so much easier to grasp and she is just direct- definitely not rude, like some others have said. This class was a great experience and was uplifting during times like these.

I love her so much. It's pretty difficult BUT you can tell that she really cares for her students. When I started falling behind, she constantly checked up on me and reminded me of what I needed to do so I can keep up. She gave me a second chance to retake this class to overwrite this INC grade! Her class is so fun and wholesome <3!

So subjective in grading. Only wants you to regurgitate what she says. Discourages differing opinions or interpretation. Self-aggrandizing.

She is a great professor and wants her students to understand the material. I learned a lot from this class. The class is difficult because there is a lot of reading. If you like studying religion then this is the perfect class for you. Another thing is that she makes you buy six books and I do not mind because I was going to keep those books.
