hated her. her tests are impossible. expect to do alot of work outside of class.
Very hard teacher, never helps, don't take!
tests are difficult. she likes to give practices, but don't help on exams.
Welcome to college, stop complaining and open a book, exams easy if you study
HORRIBLE...needs to teach from book examples instead of making her own...AVOID
Says right about every 10 seconds. DO NOT TAKE: HARD
Explains well, great teacher if accounting major otherwise you might take anothe
Worst teacher ever....very rude....doesnt care for students..class is impossible

She flys thru material, tests impossible no xtra credit EVIL do not take
very boring, very hard, do not take, tests are hard as s*#!
seriously DON'T TAKE!!
SUCKS, worst teacher ever, feel like your in high school again, DONT TAKE!!!!!!!
bad teacher, goes through material too fast, practice tests dont help,do not take!
After 4 years at Towson, I can now say she is the worst teacher ever.
Horrible, doesn't care that 1/2 the class fails
worst ever
Absolute worst teacher EVER, evil, hard, heartless, horrible tests, assigned seats and attendance policy, STAY AWAY
Horrible! Absolutely the worst teacher at Towson and has the wardrobe to prove it. She is EVIL. Takes attendance and it still doesnt count toward your grade. ****!
I don't even think you can call her a teacher. She actually WANTS you to fail.
SOO HARD! DO NOT TAKE!
she is seriously the worst teacher I ever had. SHE CANNOT TEACH AT ALL!!!! I had to learn EVERYTHING by myself. AVOID HER IF YOU CAN!
I took her in my fourth year of college, by far the worst professor I have ever had in my life. She treats you like elementary students, and can't teach at all. She is the worst
This teacher is insane.
To smart to teach average students. I'm a straight A student and this is the first C I've recieved in years. Belittles your questions, and made a comment on the need to fail students. Apparently she thinks it is normal for half the class to fail.
I am an honors college student and have gotten straight A's while at Towson. First B this year and I had to work too hard for it. She is a HORRIBLE teacher. Very snippy, moody, takes attendance, and rude!
she is the worst teacher i have ever had given she just talks about failing people and doesn't lift a hand to fully explain answers to questions. almost my whole classed FAILED
She's not as bad as people portray her to be. If you study the old exams that she provides you'll do fine. They are parallel to the test. She also expects you to do the homework.
The class is not that hard. She expects you to do the homework so if you do that and pay attention you will do fine on the tests. Not an easy A but def can happen if you try!
HARD, BUT VERY FAIR
Really hard. She is the only teacher that teaches intmed II. So good luck. I would see if you can get the credits some where else.
I have never gotten anything lower than an A in college and this woman is awful I had to W. Very unclear and unhelpful. Speeds through the HW without teaching a damn thing. tests impossible
This class is not really that hard. Make sure you study her old exam, the test is very similar. Follow her direction and put every thing in good form. I never do HW and got B.
If you study her old exams the tests are much easier. If you can, take someone else
worst teacher ever . i am a straight A student , got a D first time in life.best suggestion for my worst enemy - never take her class!she should retire.aweful, disgusting, worthless and very unhelpful
she is a good teacher. tests are alright there not hard. she gives u old tests to study from. if u know them then u do fine. if u try u shouldnt get anything less then a "B"
Usually do really well in all my accounting courses. This by far has been the worst teacher that I've ever had. She doesn't teach. The HW has nothing to do w/ her exams.
Her final is easier than usual tests. She is an excellent teacher, explains things clear. Her exams are challenging, but they all come from CPA exams. If you really want to learn something, take her. You will get B at least as long as you study.
One of the worst teachers. Very hard test. Please be prepared to fail! She is an old sour bat.
Second highest CPA score out of 70,000 applicants. What else is there to say?
Should embrace technology! Uses old overhead with post-it notes. Very condescending.. don't let her tough exterior fool you, she just wants a friend. Tests are way hard, but if you pass, you should feel good about the COA exam.

She talk kinda fast, but explain very well. she know well in the subject. HW do nothing with the test. Just study the old exam you will do fine. I got a B+.
Take advantage of her office hour. Humble your pride to ask questions. Use Gleim book and her old exams if you want to do well. Focus on understanding concepts and applying the concepts in the Gleim review. One of my favorite teachers. Got A minus.
this material is hard. It is ADVANCED accounting, so it should be expected to be hard. If you put in the time, she will help you to be prepared for her exams. Get out what YOU put in. You will learn alot too!
she is a difficult teacher. a 5 point project takes HOURS!!! to complete.
Great professor. If you work hard, she will help you to be prepared for her exams and the CPA exam. Take this course if you are interested in learning. You will have to work hard, but as an accounting major, you should work hard. An accounting Major is not a joke like MNGT or MKTG or ECON.
She is fair and challenging. She explains very clear. Do the HW, which helps you to understand the concepts. Glem book definitely helps the exams. Do use her office hours. Plan to pass CPA, for your sake, definitely do not try to avoid her.
"To teach is to touch a life forever"... well this this says it all. If you go through her class w/ no BS. You wil do just fine. She a great resource for TU. May god give a long life and great health so that she may continue to touch people's lives as she has very positively touched mine and 4ever
She is wise, like a ye ole owl.I'm sure she'll begin to knit as a hobby in a few years but she'll do it at a frantic pace -out knitting all those AIDS quilt making terds! She's difficult only because she teaches is quickly & thoroughly. She cares about her students but if you don't, she'll fail U.
I withdrew from the class after the first test. The tests are very difficult even after studying for them extensively. However, if the effort is put forward, students can learn alot from her. She wants the students to see the entire picture, not only whats going on in that particular chapter.
Tough class. If you're not willing to do the hw and devote a bit of time to studying don't bother taking it. Tests are hard but not impossible. She wants you to do good and is very approachable. Take her if you're looking to be challenged.
Don't be a ****. Accounting - especialy Advanced Accouting - is not supposed to be easy. As Jimmy Dugan said in A LEAGUE OF THEIR OWN, "It's the hard that makes it great"... or in this case, it makes you money. Dr. Stewart makes you work, and in turn, that level of work will make you money. Deal with it or die!
She is the best teacher! I kicked my ass and got an A in her class! Expect to do at least 500 multiple choices during the semester. Make Gleim your Bible and do it at least 5 times. This course is not as bad as people say if you spend time to study. She is very friendly and helpful. Good luck!
Let's face it...Barbara Stewart is tough but very fair. Her "old exams" are worth their weight in gold for this class. Didn't really work that hard, did no homework after the first exam but put in some decent study time before each exam except the cumulative final and pulled a B+. Put a strong grade up on the first exam and you are set.
wow, i learned alot in the 2 months i had professor stewert before i withdrew, but whats the point of learning it if she makes the exams impossible to pass, she could possibly have ruined my college career single handedly.

I hated her. Unless you're planning on majoring in accounting, I would try and get another teacher. She moves very fast, and makes you feel stupid if you ask her a question. The tests are hard. Avoid her at ALL costs.
She is a nice lady, but she makes you feel dumb if you don't know what is going on. She moves fast with the material and the tests are hard. I wouldn't recommend her because the class is also very boring so it's hard to pay attention. Definitely try to get another prof. for this course.
You have to take High School Accounting to do well in this class. Moves very fast and you have to read the book. She answers questions outside of class but makes you feel dumb. She keeps you there the entire time. She will not let you out early. Get below a 60% on first test she askes you to withdrawl. Hates students that are freshman or have job
I took accounting in highschool and got straight A's. I got a D semester average in this class. The teacher is ****ing horrible. Teaches extremely fast and gives you no help at all. Her tests are nothing like her review sheets and are almost impossible to get a good grade on. if your not a genius at accounting stay away! TEACHER IS WORSE THAN BAD!!
I have no clue what you guys are talking about!!! Dr. Stewart is a very knowledgeable, helpful and fair professor! I'm an accounting major and I thought the class was challenging but helpful. I DIDN'T take High School Accounting, and I still managed to get an A in her class! Obviously, you need to study & learn to do well! Class consisted of listen
didn't like this class at all. very very boring. you just look at slides like everyday. It was the only class i didnt pass. Take it from another teacher
Her tests are very hard. therewas one question from gleim but changed the numbers. One question from her old tests. 20 Mc 3.5 each and one consolidation problem 30 points in her first test.she is ok not very helpful or nice person
she is a difficult teacher, tests are hard and she can be a little hard to follow in class, but outside of class she really is helpful and nice so go to her for help. do the homework, go to all the classes, review the old exams and do the gleim and you'll be fine. Of course shes going to be tough - you're in ADVANCED ACCOUNTING what did u expect?
There is a chance that you can pass the class but barely. All she does is read from power point slides which is NOT an effective method of teaching. Her tests are passable with a C if you're lucky you'll get a B. Avoid taking her if possible!!!! You basically teach yourself.
She is a great teacher! By far, the best I have had at Towson, take good notes and study her old tests and you will do well! Take advantage of her office hours if you don't understand something, she is very nice and helpful!
She is very fast so basically you can not understand well. Her whole final was from gleim book and she did not even change answer option But her first and second test had just few questions from gleim. I passed her class with first try. I worked very hard. Make sure you do all of her old tests and then master gleim. You can end up with c.
Barbara's a little mental. Study her old tests hardest on the first 2 exams along with her handouts.I thought the 2nd exam, on governmental accounting, was the easiest. I hope you can allow ample time to study for her tests. Good students really do fail her the first time around, but with focus and smart studying you can pass.
Awesome teacher! Hard material, she explains it well, much better than the book. Her sheets are very helpful in organizing the material. I learnt a lot, and am glad I took the class. People who complain about her- work hard and stop complaining!
Material is difficult, not the teacher. She is very helpful outside of class and very clear in lecture. Her notes and old test are Gold!! Study them and gleim. Work hard, go to class, and pay attention, there is no reason to fail. You do know you are in Advanced accounting right?
A straightforward teacher. Eliminates alot of notetaking via a course packet she gives you. If you read the sections before she goes over them and do the study guide after she teaches the chapter then your golden. A maximum consumption of time a week about 3 hours on average give or take depending on exams and such. A great professor. Competant
hate, detest, "insert negative word", the anti-christ, she has to be the worst teacher i've ever taken. oh and i got a B i can only imagine what some who fails thinks...
Very knowledgeable of the material. Class is fast-paced... approximately one chapter per week; we got through 12. I took accounting in HS, so the material was somewhat familiar. 3 tests and a cumulative final. she dropped the lowest test. Be sure to study the course packet and read over the chapters before the tests. I never used the study guide.
Get the first couple of chptrs down and you'll have it easy. She's seems very conceited and looks frail, but is straight forward. She'll tell you to drop the class and she hates when you come late and go to the bathroom. She'll tell you to take your books and not to come back. I got a B somehow?
She's an ok teacher, shes pretty straight forward and has a cut and dry sense of humor. She offers help when you need it. Info is cumulative so master the basics; she will advise you to drop the class if your failing. Class is VERY BORING so I'd advise sitting in the front so your right in front of her and it'll make it easier to pay attention.
wicked witch of the west, no compashion for students at all
I don't think there are any "easy' accounting professors bc the material isn't easy. Stewart teaches DIRECTLY from slides. If you do not learn well from slides, like myself, do not take this class with professor stewart.
aviod at all costs. reads info off of powerpoints, which she makes you get so you can read it to yourself. going to class is pointless, since she doesnt TEACH, she reads...so passing an exam based on her teaching skills is nearly impossible. do not take if you can, you might as well apply for a position teaching the class if you wind up with her.
She's not easy but it's totally possible to get an A in the class without working too hard. Do the hmwk- it really helps. Also, sit close up. She knows what she's talking about and is very approachable. If you really want to learn Principles I, take her!
LISTEN TO THESE PEOPLE WHEN THEY SAY NOT TO TAKE HER!!! It was nearly impossible trying to understand stewart. She speaks very softly and reads DIRECTLY FROM SLIDES (really fast). It is really hard to learn this way. Not to mention you know shes a bad teacher when she asks a class of 200 a question and not one student is able to give an answer.
She is extremely smart and knows what she is talking about. Honestly, non accounting majors shouldn't take her for principles. Most don't have the work ethic and/or drive to do the work required. For advanced, do the homework, study a lot, and do the practice exams and you'll pass.
No matter what you've heard she's really a decent professor. I'm horrible at math and I managed to get a B. 3 exams (highest grade out of the 3 exams counts double) & a final. She's more than fair- she's willing to change her grading policies to benefit students in need. Teaches from ppts, but all are very clear. No attendance or graded hw.
I got A's in accounting in High School and then got Stewart for 201. She "teaches" straight from PowerPoint. Um, this is ACCOUNTING, you have to actually teach the material! I did all the homework and did it correctly yet couldn't pass the tests. I withdrew from the class along with more than 50% of the class. AVOID THIS TEACHER!
Strict teacher. Scared me. Did not go well with my pseudo-slacker attitude. Had to take her class twice if I remember. Hard material, Hard Teacher.
Millenials are going to hate her, why? Because she makes you earn everything. She's strict, tough, and is no non-sense. But you will learn accounting that will help you pass the CPA. She doesn't give cookie-cutter exams that are rehashed textbook examples with different numbers. Oh no, her exams are mindtwisters and you better know your stuff.
