shes soooo nice! homework was easy, along with the few tests we had. she even encourages to drop by if we have any questions on the assignments or our grades. too cool!!
Her class is ok....when she attends. She doesn't keep track of your grades...even on the final day of class, she won't know your grade. Just keep turning in your work and showing up, and you should be able to pull out a B or above.

Very unorganized class, you learn nothing, you get bad grades, and she doesn't help. She should be fired.
I had her for both English 101A & Sci-Fi/fantasy class a few years ago. She was helpful at office hours and the assignments were not difficult. A pretty good professor overall.
She's a tough one! I liked her; I appreciated her demand for attention, since her classes can get rowdy - especially Eng. 117. She's fair, but a tough grader. This is a good thing. Being a reentry student, I appreciated her thoroughness.
I took Tull for Into to Lit and liked her. She's a great teacher and certainly helpful. She has a lot of office hours and really teaches. I do agree that you won't get homework assignments back and you won't know your grades until the class is almost over
Online class. TERRIBLE! Never online. doesnt answer questions. disapeared for over three weeks & then came back to post homework & disapeared again for a month and a half til the final. no final review, just wing it! Doesnt post grades. LEARNED NOTHING! WHATEVER YOU DO, DONT TAKE HER ONLINE CLASS!!!
what a terrible teacher. NONE of our assignments were ever returned and the semester is now over. she NEVER knew our grades and she still hasnt even posted them online. she cancelled just as many classes as the ones we actually had. she did not teach me ANYTHING and this class was a JOKE.
Her online class is by no mean easy. Make sure you read and reread everything if you want a decent grade. For her online class, its pointless to email or post question online. You're better off seeing her in person if you have question. She is a very helpful person in person.
Very good teacher if your willing to talk in class. I took her for both Intro to Science Fiction + Fantasy and Intro to Shakespeare. She was a bit disorganized but she was always willing to answer my questions after class or during her office hours. I plan on taking her again for 101B.
Eww! Horrible and Nasty teacher! doesn't even know how to teach! she is not helpful! If she is not helpful, being a teacher is useless.
A good teacher. I enjoyed the class, but was mad because she had NO syllabus and was very unorganized. She also based your entire grade on three assignments and participation, which we all know how much that matters. Very intelligent, just a bit frazzled.
Ive had her for A,B and C. She's a great teacher, will always answer your questions, always makes time for students. Easy grader, as long as you know what youre talking about. She's really good.
dude, she's a science fiction geek, how cool is that?! she has a hard time teaching, but you can see her interest is there. she's not too organized, but she tries. i hate giving her low scores because she's sucha nice person.
I loved her sci-fi class and 101B. She gave tons of extra help outside of class and she encouraged discussion inside of the class room. Sure, she never did give me my final project back but i enjoyed her class and so did everyone else i knew who had her.

The students in this class are ridiculously poor-mannered. I always thought us "geeks" were pretty cool, but these kids are stereotypical. The teacher is all right, but I don't care for the class.
She's an average teacher. Expect to do your homework AND particpate in class! She's very knowledgable. She's not very on top of giving your assignments back on time but you can tell that she tries. The class is mainly based upon 3 essays and participation. Great sense of humor.
I got what I wanted out of the class which was to learn about the different authors and stories of sci-fi and fantasy. She did great in that aspect. The students could get annoying but they made the class more interesting than the teacher.
Teacher isnt too bad when it comes to hw. Very slow at getting essays back. Midterm wasnt bad but she is not clear whatsoever when it comes to what's on the test. You never know what ur getting in the class until the end.
I don't like this class, and now she makes it worse. I don't want to go to class anymore. She cancelled as many classes as she wants. As a student, I'm so happy if my class is cancelled, but she keeps on doing that, I don't like it. She hasn't returned any test or hw assignments, i don't know what I'm getting in class. Professor Tull is a cool person. She wants discussion in her class but overall it is ok. Some lazy people did not like her when I was taking it in Spring 06. If you are lazyy then dont take the class bc she will make the non english speakers learn english..some of them did not like that. She is a wonderful teacher overall.

This lady is rude, irresponsible, she never lets her students know how they are doing in her class, unhelpful, she will disappear for weeks and then expect you to turn in some huge project within 2 days... Do not take her classes!!!
She is an OK teacher, not great but she really is kinda weird. You try to talk to her and you get this weird vibe. She's nice but strange. How many time do I have to say it? She never really hands back your work and you do not know your grade until the class ends. Tske her if you wish but this is just a warning.
I personally had no probelms with Ms. Tull and I actually really enjoyed her class. I thought she was very helpful as she had frequent conferences to meet with the students one on one. This teacher is horrible. She does not answer any of the sutdents questions. She requires us to sign on but yet she doesn't. She assigns work and doesn't explain it or try and help when we need it. She si very rude and doesn't have people skills at all.

It's true -- no grades. I thought I was doing poorly but I guess if you're pretty good at english and organizing your ideas, you'll do well, especially if most of the people in your class are horrible writers. When I got my midterm back I got an A. I hardly read at all this semester. What a joke class!
Okay, her class is a bit of a joke. I didn't do many of the required things that I was suppose to do but still pulled off a C. You'll NEVER know what your grade is before the end of the semester but as long as your doing your work your grade will end up higher. If I hadn't forgotten to do a few of the KEY assignments I would have done better.
What the others say is true - you won't have a clue about your grade until the end. Didn't learn much from her. Can't say shes a teacher; rather, an assignment giver. You won't be enlightened by her online class. It's like you're working for a grade rather than to learn - not what you want if you want improve your english or are majoring in english
This teacher is terrible. She didnt let me know how I was doing until I told her that I was going to be in touch with someone abover her. Even then, by the time I found out how I was doing in her class, it was passed the "withdraw" date.
I was disappointed this woman wasted my time: I would have gotten better reading material & insight in a book club. Tull is not teacher material: what started out as "maybe a movie" turned into a movie EVERY WEEK because there is NO class content. She is also unable to maintain the objectivity and people skills that a quality teacher needs.
Professor Tull is an excellent instructor who encourages a person to push themselves and learn as much as they can. If you do the work, show up to class, don't plagerise, you'll get a good grade. She is available after class to help if you need it. She provided all the materials in the form of handouts, thus saving the student money. A+ teacher!!!
Great teacher. She gave feedback by appointment but if you didn't show up then its you're fault. Alot of instructors don't give back graded work but if you asked then you find out your grade. Same with Professor Tull. She presented a WIDE variety of material after listening to the classes needs and interests. A+ Teacher!! Will take her class again!

i took her class last semseter and she was the most boring teacher that i have ever had. all we did was read and did vocab but we rarly did anything in class. on the lab work she gave it to us late so the first part we had to do in like a week. she also cancelled class for 2 weeks!!!p.s.-she never told us how she was going to grade everything!!!
Okay so I'm taking her 101 B online clss right now and what can I say? Those ppl are right. SHE IS HORRIBLE, RUDE, and VERY DISORGANIZED!! No books in a lit class, instead we read short stories online. Sometimes she was well organized and lectures were very good. Other times, it was as if she just showed up without plans.

Her online class is a joke. All I learned in her class was to not take another engl class with her. People on hear arn't lying when they say she doesn't give grades out. This teacher doesn't know how to communicate. Rude answers to e-mials. Very disorganized. One she posted homework on a long weekend and it was due monday while she after a long break of not posting anything. You will never get any grades back.so you wont know whether to drop in time. I think she gives every body a bad grade from her own side.
I usually LOVE English and it is one of my best subjects. However, Ms. Tull made this class hard. I usually get A's in my English classes and I took her 101C ONLINE class and got a C! Worked really hard and she never gave grades back and was very sarcastic. Finally, when I saw my final grade, I was really upset. I will never take her again!
This was the WORST online class I have ever had. In the beginning she asks what each student needs to succeed and then does not grade a single assignment until after you get your final grade. Terrible professor with no regard for students at all. This class brought my GPA down and she is unreasonable so there was nothing I could do about it.
I agree with most of the comments. I am presently taking a 101-C online class, and I cannot say that it is hard,because we get absolutly no feedback from her, so one has no idea if they are doing he required assignment right. Her instructions are very clear, but ongoing grades would make a big difference in her class.

Absolutely the worst teacher. There is one week left in the semester and she has NEVER returned an assignment back to us and NOTHING has been graded. She doesn't respond to email or phone messages and she disappears for days at a time. I don't even know if she reads our assignments. Take a different teacher!!!!
Holy cow this lady needs to be slapped. She says "I want you so succeed", but never grades anything. I took her online class and tired hard, and she still gave me a B. I did like every assignment, did all the comments 2 per assignment. I have her next semester, but I am going to drop that class. I rather get castrated than take her class again.

Do NOT take this class. She missed class, never returned class work, couldn't give our grades throughout semester. Then with our huge paper assigned she said she wanted a "polished" paper and never taught us how to write one

Got an A so class is doable, but I definitely do NOT recommend her. Rare to get feedback, ABSOLUTELY no grades. Only full proof way of contact is phone/visit. She vanished once for about 3 weeks with no warning or explanation. Check blackboard daily for surprise/hidden assignments. English 101A is probably the one reason I succeeded in her class.
I got an A and I must say it was alright, I'm starting to wonder if the bad comments are lazy people.This is not an easy A class! It is not for kids, but adults. I say this because in the beginning she clearly states that if you want feedback,ASK Her. Missed a class? Ask a classmate not her. Go to her office hours if you can't reach her.

Terrible teacher! Disappeared for nearly a month without explanation! Didn't even grade any of my assignments for the ENTIRE semester except TWO! How she is still employed as a teacher at Ohlone is beyond me.
The worst teacher at Ohlone bar none. She deserves to be terminated from her position as an English professor as soon as possible. Rarely, if ever, communicated with her students and more often than not would disappear from class for lengthy periods of time. ZERO communication whatsoever. Horrible teacher.
Honestly the worst teacher I've ever had. I have never had a teacher with these methods where things go ungraded. You ask her about your grade in the class and she tells you to go to her office hours, you go to her office hours, she can't tell you your grade. We are convinced we are going to get to the grade deadline and she will be rolling a dice.
First of all, I received an A in this class, but only found that out once the class was over. She did not grade a single assignment and gave no feedback. When I asked how I was doing I received no answer. This was an online class and it seems she would disappear for a week or two. You could not count on what weekly assignments would be.
Mrs.Tull is extremely sweet and a great teacher. As long as you do your work and the labs you'll be all good. Interact with her every day and you'll instantly become a favorite. She's very understanding and encourages everyone to go to her office hours. Highly recommend!
She is a very sweet woman! I'm shocked by what many people have said on her page. She doesn't have an exact list of what you are going to be graded on as she tries to go with the flow of the class. She cares more about you learning and gaining a new found passion for the literature. Provides lots of handouts and links to help you.
Tull is one of the worst I have ever had. Not only does she disappear for weeks on end, but when she comes back, she dumps assignments on you to make up for her lost time. She also does not grade a single thing or give any feedback at all. This was really a useless class. I'm guessing she will role some dice to see what grades we get?
The class wasn't very organized at all and up until the last two weeks of the semester we'd only had one graded assignment—the midterm. She's a wonderful person and knows a lot about Shakespeare, but it didn't make up for all the stress her lack of organization caused me.

I am currently taking her 101B online class& she is seriously unorganized. Not exaggerating. We are going to week 10 and she still has not graded one single assignment. I was enrolled in her online 101B class. The semester ended and she did not grade a single assignment on Blackboard. She was gone for several weeks at a time. I looked at my final grade on WebAdvisor and she gave me an F! I did all assignments, so I emailed her right away and I've yet to hear from her. I do not understand! This is horrible!
Do not take this class. Before taking her class I looked at the reviews and ignored it. Waste of time and money. Had to talk to the Dean about her because she incompetent of being a teacher.
After being out of highschool for 8 years this happened to be my very first class as a college student; therefor, my English was horrible. I had to undo years of incorrect grammar, and ended up having this wonderful professor, very patient and helpful, yes she isn't there much but I can't see how so many people disliked
Tull made not only did not teach but disappeared for months at a time throughout the semester. She did not grade or return any assignments and nobody knew what their grades were. She did not answer emails or calls and never explained her absences. You won't learn anything about writing in this class; in fact, you hardly even see the instructor!
Prof. Tull did have a couple of absences but she explained that they were due to family emergencies. Understandable and she did provide notice ahead of time whenever she could. As for her teaching style, she is patient, thorough, and always encouraged students to come to her for help. Show up, ask questions, you will pass. Nothing too difficult.
Never showed literally half the time, not an exaggeration. She even missed the first day of class. Its finals week and she hasn't graded a single assignment, no one knows their grade in class. 80% of the time she emails you and says she's out sick, but the other 20% she has you waiting outside her class for 30 mins before you realize its cancelled.
She did not show up half of the semester and expected us to come every class. She did not email us to let us know that she will not show up every time. Students would be outside the class standing for 1 hour. Her lectures were not interesting at all. She would repeat the same thing 4-5 times. I did not learn anything in her class.
Its been a week or two since the semester ended and still hasnt graded anything. I dont even know my grade.
