I wish ll of my teachers were as nice as her! Her class is not easy but she made me think in a way I didn't know was possible. Her exams are hard and expect to study. Taking this professor is something everyone needs to do at least once. I'll be taking her again in the fall and I can't wait! I got an A for the term.

She is a kind, sweet, understandable teacher. Gives very good examples to relate to & engages in class discussion daily. The class was very interactive. Her test come straight from the text book, to pass her test read the text intently, word for word and most of all understand the concepts/theories. Overall, you'll think in a whole new way.

She is a great teacher. She knows how to explain Psychology, and answers any question any one has. The thing is that you have to study a lot, and you have to pay atention in class all the time. Also, you need to read each chapter before class because she may do pop quiz. Yet, I have learned a lot thanks to her, and I am grateful to her.

MY MY, if all my professors were like her then i would have no trouble. she is the best, knows her stuff, has great relationship with her students. her lectures and examples allow to to think real hard about life. her tests can be difficult if you do read the text. Always willing to help students in and out of class. very flexible. NO REGRETS

Dr. Vanhorn is awesome teacher. She does give a lot of pop quizzes, but if you do the homework it is EXACTLY the same as the quiz. Also when you take a test first you take it alone and then she grades them while you study in the hall and lets you retake it with a group.You can really tell she loves what she teaches and participate in the discussion

Funny teacher, and the lectures were interesting. The tests are very challenging though. Make sure you properly understand and know all of the concepts and topics that the assigned pages of reading discuss.

I took the online class. It was a little daunting until I figured out the book had a website. I mostly studied the website quizzes and made an A in her class. The WebCT practice quizzes were too long.

Dr Vanhorn is an awesome teacher, knows what she is talking about, there is 15 question quizzes weekly (which you check after doing wink wink), 1 big essay, and 4 exams and online quizes. i highly recommend this teacher. bring a laptop and go along with the powerpoints you will get a b or better!

Dr. Vanhorn is an amazing teacher! Her class is a lot of work and challenging, compared to a lot of the professors at IRCC. However, she's very helpful and loves to talk to her students. Her tests are hard, so you have to really study, but it's very rewarding. She's very passionate about her subject, and really wants her students to succeed.

Took internet course DEP2204 human development, was the toughest "A" I ever got. She is very fair and truely wants her students to learn something. Her tests are no give away, you need to know the info. Initially did not even want to take the class but am glad I did, I respect her for not making the class too easy.

hER CLASS IS EASY. Just do all her extra credits,her lectures are carbon copies of her test, i don't know she's easy. Im a slacker and i got a B in her class.

I took her for Intro to psy, and she is pretty easy...Notes are on slides that you can print... Her study guides suck, instead of knowing the definintion to a word, you need to remember the situations in which you use it...Quizes were a brezz if you took the online quiz first. It truley helps... but BOOORIINNG!! Intill she brought in equipment...

I took this course over the internet. She is very helpful and will answer any questions quickly through email. She gives you very helpful tools through the internet site she has set up. I powerpoints and assessments are very helpful. She is a great teacher!!

I liked this class. Note: Do all online quizes before class and you will do good on the in class quizes, they are the same questions and combined worth 20% of your grade.. Come to class pay attention and read the book. If you do that, you will do good. She grades very fair, even has a C- (65-69) to help out if you did bad on a test. I recomend her!

I had her for my psychology and believe it, she made me love it. She made the class fun. You must read the book, study the vocabulary words and understand her lecture. Take notes whenever examples are being given in class lecture. They might end up on the exams.

I took Human Development on-line. If you have to take on-line course as I do than I would recommend this one. Just read and answer the study sheet thoroughly and there is no reason you should not get an A.

I took this as an on line course. Easy A if you read and answer the study questions thoroughly. She expects you to learn something and wants her students to do well...why wouldn't she. She responds quickly to emails and questions. If you have to limit your on site classes as I do, I would definately recommend this as an on line course.

intro psy- tests are not easy make sure you attend all classes and use study guide. I am usually an A student made an B overall grade this was with hard work. Make sure you do online quizzes a few classmates didn't they were sorry at the end.

Dr. Van Horn is awesome! She made me want to go into Psychology as my major. She is very enthusiastic about the subject and makes it interesting. Tests are tough but a good grade is more than possible if you do the online quizzes and study them to get 100's on the in class quizzes. Definitely recommend her!!!

I didn't enjoy this class at all, but I think that might be partly because I took it online. Dr. Van Horn was nice in her emails; she also provided good study guides(hard tests) and gave us unlimited trys on the quizzes. She's a good teacher, and I imagine the in-person classes are better. This was the hardest 'A' I have received in college yet!

I had her for human dvpt during the summer and got an A. If you read and do the study guides and really know them, her tests were pretty easy I thought. There is one essay-type thing you do which isn't too bad. If you need this class, take her.

Im taking her online class, very simple. I just took the midterm ( sort of tough) and got an A, when I had thought I would most deff. get a C or B. For our exam next week, she is letting us take it at HOME or ANYWHERE we choose-due to her being out of town! Amazing. She is down to earth. If you want to be sucessful, take her!!

I took Dr. Van Horn's class online. I would recommend her again. Her test are hard though and her study guide is not 100% accurate, but if you at least study them you should do fine. She also responds to emails rather quickly. Good luck if you take her.

Professor Van Horn was amazing! I had no itnerest in the class at all it was just for an elective and I loved it! It was a lot of fun and she made it so interesting!Had fun with hands-on learning and her tests are a little difficult but if you study and read your notes from class you will do fine! I just wanted to add to all of the great comments about Van Horn. She is sweet and she CARES! She is SUPER smart, so pick her brain.. she loves it! She will help advise you on where you are heading with your education. Pay attention to her examples, you will be tested and she will admit that her tests can be difficult, even if you studied hard.

Study! Study! Study! This was not an easy class for me to pass. My advice is to buy the study guide that goes along with the book. It helped so much and made it possible to pass the class. I didn't really hear much from the professor except for an occasional e-mail saying when exams were.

Loved this class! Dr Van Horns test are tough, but if you study and take notes, you'll have no problem passing it. And if you fail, it's probably because you put no effort into her class. Her lessons were very interesting, but be prepared for a ton of reading. Got a B on my final.

She brags about how hard her class is, but I have a B+ by doing study guides and memorizing online quizzes. The class is very boring therefor I dont pay attention at all but if you dont go she will take away points. Study for your tests and u will pass. She is very helpful and answers emails right away.

VERY interesting class, she is very engaging and humorous at times with her lectures. She lays out the info and her curriculum for quizzes before lecture works well. She is open to discussion always. Tests are the only difficult part. Takes quite a bit of studying. If you do bad on the first test go talk to her and she will help you in the class

I'm taking this course online and it's a breeze. There are online quizzes that are taken at home (easy and straight from the text). Prof. VanHorn also gives a straightforward study guide for the Midterm and Final - if you just go through each topic in your book you will ace it like I did. There is a small writing assignment as well.

Online class is very simple. You have one term paper all semester and you have to take a weekly quiz. The quiz is online so it makes the quiz easy bc you can use your book at home. She gives a great study guid for the midterm and final. Excellent teacher

Online course: I got an A. VanHorn won't overwhelm you. Just do your assignments & you'll be fine. 1 written report req. USE echo360 if you take online it helps. My only complaint is that I wish the teacher was more involved w/ online students, She seldomly emails however, she is quick to reply if you have a question. Overall: Happy w/ the outcome.

The book/code are mandatory, and if you do the assignments you should understand the material. She's a GREAT communicator and her tests are a cinch... maybe not for everyone, though. Vanhorn is an awful teacher. I hated her class, and I will never take her again. Her lectures are LONG and BORING. Her test are HARD even when you study. I got an A but with little help from her.

This class online isn't that hard. If you use the textbook for the online quizzes, you'll get A's on all of them. The study guides for the mid term and final are exactly the same and in the same order as the test itself. The only reason I got a B is because I didn't study for the tests so I got C's on both of them. Overall, it wasn't a hard class.

VERY STRONG TEACHING ETHICS.Knowledgeable about the subject. Alot of power points through ANGEL and chapter reading is necessary for her class. Teaches right from the text books which makes it easier to study that way as tests are derived from both the online quizzes and text material.
