Very easy class. I did absolutely NO extra credit and made an A+. I did not read the chapters until a couple of days before each exam. 100% of the info you need for the projects are available on the tips section of blackboard. Very straightforward, no surprises. For those with problems with this class, I recommend transferring to a Junior college
THIS CLASS SUCKS....especially if you take in on Saturday. She gives your 500 optional study questions for a 40 question test. The projects are really easy, thank god! This helps to balance the LOW LOW test averages. Good luck in this class & DO ALL THE EXTRA CREDIT....you'll need it!!!!
This teacher is soooo easy! If you go to class she will give you the exact notes that will show up on the test. The projects aren't that bad. She's very nice and she knows her stuff. If you do the study guides you will do fine in the class. Her test is exactley what she tells you so she doesn't try to trick you. She's great!
the book was boring and long chapters.. the exam are very unclear (specially for the online class) and hard to study for. The projects are very very easy..
She is a good teacher. Tests not that bad. Projects are time consuming but helpful. STUDY STUDY STUDY. Watch lectures online and DO THE F****** EXTRA CREDIT! It is so helpful to final grade!!
I got a B in this class. Projects aren't that hard. Just don't procastinate. I never did extra credit. Exams are okay. She's a cool teacher. I used to stay in that class for no more than an hour and half. Take her. I recommend it!!!
Good class, got a 507 out of 500 because of the extra credit. You can pass this class unless you're a complete moron.
Very nice lady and a good teacher. Class only lasts about 1.5 hrs, longer if you stay for the extra credit. Study study guide for exams and do extra credit. Don't procastinate on projects, they take a lot of time to complete. Overall, easy class.
great teacher. funny. you never get bored in the class. she try to make class very easy. she will give you any help you need. highly recommanded.
The class is tremendously EASY. It doesn't matter though, but try to take it online. She gives out a bunch of XC so it's a breeze to pass unless ur a complete idiot.
This is an easy course, if u do ur work. Print the PP slides, fill em in during class. Read the book & do Study Guide. She presents IT articles in class, some interesting, some silly. Oddly, some people struggle w this class (Marketing chix=bambi/barbie). If u follow the tips, the PC projects r doable. Mass EC. Study time: 4-5 hrs/wk. Nice lady.
EASY class, just make sure you print out the powerpoints and take notes on them during class. the excell and access projects are pretty easy too!
She was so disorganized that I dropped the class
After a ten year hiatus, I came back to school and made an A in this class. I felt the class was well organized and was very fair. My suggestions would be to stay on top of the readings, attend class and take notes, and DO ALL THE EXTRA CREDIT (there are tons of it). The projects are very self-explanatory. I would highly suggest this professor.
She has plenty of office hours, etc to try & help you. The only thing I didn't like, was the fact that I didn't feel I learned very much from her lectures. She gives LONG study review for each chapter for you to study for the test. This is the only way I passed the class. Very time consuming class, do all your work on time,& do all extra credit
Very nice lady. Very pleasant. Assignment are not extremely difficult. Tests are very difficult. There is a lot of work to do in this class. Don't think you can just put 2 hours a week into it and wala an A. I spent 10 hours a week easy and barely got a B. Don't let the assignment fool you on ease. Test are difficult but do able. Work hard
Wow. I thought this was going to be an easy online class & that is about as far from the truth as you can get it. The lectures seem easy and laid back...take the test & you might as well turn in the towel. Amazingly hard! She mutates the definitions into complexity like you can't imagine. T.A.'s won't give you the time of day. I pulled a C.
Great teacher. Posts lectures online along with study guides, and the short essay questions for the exams. Very easy A, takes minimal time and effort. Projects are very easy. If you put in about an hour a week you should easily get a B.
I have to say upfront that this class has more work than any college class I've ever been in. I got high B's on all the exams but the projects are what killed me. Not only are they difficult but the instructions are poorly written. The T.A.'s will not help you except show you what video clips to watch to find out what you need. Long hrs ahead.
This class should be easy, but Warner and her T.A.'s are a joke and give you about as much help as a call center in India. Worthless. The projects are insanely difficult because they are unclear on what you need to do. The exams are enormous so its difficult to study for. The overall exam avg. was a 63-68% for all the exams. Somethings wrong.
U KIDDING ME?!! This class is EXTREMELY EASY! She gives TONS of easy to do extra credit, tells you CLEARLY what to do on projects (even gives you DETAILED TIPS) The TA's were very helpful, dont listen to others. Most students were just lazy and wanted TA's to do it for them. Gives you exam reviews. No tricks at all! Easy A. Exams NOT HARD AT ALL
If you've had a beginning computer class, an A in this class should be a breeze even without extra credit. Do the extra credit and all you'll need is a 50 for the final. For the projects, she walks you through every step you'll need in her online video tips. I don't know why you'd need a TA, but there are 6 of them available + Prof Warner.
Just got done taking the final for this retarded class and what a joke! "Focus on Ch. 12, 14, some ?'s from the project and a few past questions, and you should do good." That's what she told us but she lied. The final was mainly commulative and nothing off 12,14, and project. Class avg. was a 68% what a joke. That's how the semester went.
Please take someone else if there is one. You follow directions on all of the hard projects which take 4 hours to and you dont do as well as you think you did. Exams are tough.. if you have lots of time for this class and study then you'll do fine, if not, then you'll pass with a C.
Shes not that bad! It's a harder class than it needs to be because of the time you have to put in. Go to every class; material is SO boring but she gives extra credit. I NEVER did a single study guide, just studied the terms/ concepts from the notes over and over. Projects take 4-5 hrs each - pay attention to every detail on them.
Prof. Warner is very nice and this class is very easy. There are a ton of extra credit projects to raise your grade. I took the class online and had no problem. Listen to the lectures online, study the powerpoint slides, do the projects and you'll be satisfied with your grade.
I took the online course and received an A. The projects were not as hard as everyone are making them out to be. She gives hints on just about everything in the projects. The TA's were somewhat helpful, but I found her to be avaiable when I had questions. Put in a little effort, do all the extra credit and you should get an A.
Class was easy. Projects are fairly easy and if you get stuck on any of them you can watch her tips that tell you exactly what to do. DID NOT have a book although I DO NOT recommend this as it hurt me a bit on the tests. there is enough extra credit to help in getting an easy B and even an A
I got a B for this class but it was a terrible experience. First, what kept me from an A was not the exams but the poorly prepared projects. The T.A.'s are worthless and Warner is nowhere to be seen. For what you put into those projects you get nothing back. This class was the low point of my USF career. I hated it!!
This professor is ABSOLUTELY GREAT.. she's so helpful and actually cares about her students.. she tries to make it as easy as possible and gives you so much time to work on your projects.. though the essays may be a tad hard the overall class is just too easy to not be able to pass.. so DEFINITELY take this professor.. she's fun and interesting!
LOVED this class. It was a challenge, but all the work was relevant, i.e. no busy work! I took the online section, i would HIGHLY recommend it. The lectures are very thorough and informative, and the tests are based on the assignments and information from the lectures. Plus, theres almost always someone online waiting to help you out:) Great class!
Prof Warner is a good teacher. She gives extra credit almost every week if you go to class. Projects aren't hard and she is really helpful if you have questions. If you miss class, she puts the lecture notes online.
Such a nice lady! You can do all of the projects and still fail her tests and get a good grade. Be sure to turn all of your projects on time and do them well. Attend her review sessions before each exam b/c they reduce the amount of info you have to study. She makes the class interesting. Offers extra credit so do the outlines before coming 2 class
This teacher was very good. For my first time at USF she was very helpful. I took that class online and would recommend it to anyone. The online lectures are great. All you have to do is stay on top of the reading and projects which by the way you have more than enough time to do.
Really good class to take, you will DEF learn way more than you ever have b4 about PC's. EXTREMELY helpful both online and in class. Does require memorization, and a few good hrs of studying. Lot of extracredit really can boost your score. Textbook extremely helpful, but i've seen get by w/o it. Take this class.
Too much information to study. Ms. Warner is fair that's true but she needs to sum up the information for the tests otherwise if you like independent study you'll go crazy with what to start with. Her projects are fun though.
This class can be easy if you stay on top of the assigned projects. The tests seemed a little tricky. The instructor gives extra credit that will make up for any problems on her tests.
Waste of time..long projects which teach nothing...1-5 chaps per exam.
Professor Warner is a nice lady. She is willing to help, but understand that you will have to wait in a line for about 20min or so. She wont know who you are although she might have responded to your emails all semester. Her projects are tough if you haven't worked on Office in a while. She sucks!!!!!!! DO not take!!!!!
Mrs. Warner is really good at helping you out on anything you need.. You need to study for her exams because they are really hard! .. a lot of information normally 4 chapters for each.. The projects are not hard but its just a lot of work, will normally take you 6-8 hours to complete them..oh and she gives a lot of extra credit!Good Luck!
Very nice, smart, funny, helpful lady. I hate computers and still made an A in this class. Test are easy if you go to class and take good notes, and the projects are too if you like computer stuff. A very do-able class if you put in the work plus there is 20 points of extra credit!
Take this class online! Her online lectures are voice instead of just powerpoint. It is exactly the same content and examples as the live class. The projects are easy if you print out the instructions and check off each item as you do it. The TIPS section is going to be your friend, use it on EVERY project.
Consists of Excel & Access & 1HTML project (fun); 3 Exams, 20pts Xtra credit. She gives many tips for projects. The exams may be hard but just open her powerpoint while watching online lecture & enter notes. Will help tons! Watch ALL tips she puts out. Will help on difficult projects. I thought they were mostly relevant to today's business and fun!
took this class online & got an A! watch the lectures, do the extra credit well, study with lectures/read book. the projects aren't that bad, she gives good tips & if your still confused, theres always TA hours. She is also always willing to help too and is the nicest lady! do the work right away and you'll do great =)
Probably one of the nicest teachers to take. She really works with students to make sure they pass. Extra credit will be your best friend if your not a good test taker like me. Do all the projects. The tips she gives helps with every one of them. Read and study the lecture notes. Take the class online because theres no need for a live class.
Great teacher the tests from the book are very hard to understand and the only reason you use the book is for the exams.
Good teacher..Giver great test review (pretty much the test)...Projects are easy but take some time. Gives extra credit
I got an A so why rate so low? Cause her class had about 6 projects that each took 4 hours minimum. Her tips are short and it took a long time to view them all and understand the project. Test were easy though and plenty of EC. Bottom line, not hard to get an A. But 24 hours of projects for one class in one semester? Not worth it.
She is the worst teacher ever! Very rude and is not willing to help at all. Her tests are pretty hard and the projects take all of your free time! DO not take her, take someone else, too much stress with her!
Very doable course if you just put forth a little effort. She is generally very professional and organized, although she still has not popsted our grades for the third exam and its now 2 days after the optional final...Kinda would have been nice to know our grades on the third exam prior to deciding to take the final or not.
I liked this class and did very well on all of the projects. I felt like I was learning a lot and doing more than my part to get a good grade in the class. However, I had a very hard time on her tests. I wasn't able to pass one. I did all the extra credit, book work, and listened to lectures and was unable to pass the class.
If you're going to USF to get an education, you will get it in this class. The projects are hard, but she provides tips and is avaiable to help you with them. The projects are hands on and you will more than likely use that information/experience in the real world. As a heads up, do not wait until the last minute to work on them.
Class was very easy, did not study for any exam until the day before. Projects are extremely useful and practical. If you want to do anything in business you will use a spreadsheet and a database, unless of course you are a garbage man.
I had to interest in computers prior to this class and I will say that I am now gearing towards computer tech. You need to do the projects early and she gives you wha to study. Great teacher and at least she is hands on about teaching unlike other professors who tell stories.
REALLY nice professor, she's always willing to help you with any questions ... projects are time-consuming but not too bad ... exams are really easy. Subject itself was not all that interesting, but I guess it's not for everyone
Great professor! Does an amazing job at making the class interesting. She is always available for help. She uses blackboard to the fullest with tips, demos, and online lectures. She also inspires students to consider the ISM major/minor. Don't buy the book, never opened it once.
Probably the best and most organized of any instructor I ever had. She is also the nicest instructor who truly cares about helping her students make the best grade they can. Her online lectures are interesting and relevant, you'll need the book to help on quizzes and tests and the projects are long but you'll thank her at the end of the course.
A great teacher! Exams were hard, and I studied alot! Lecture is interesting if you choose to attend! Offers lots of extra credit, but only if you attend the lectures. Projects are time consuming, so start early. But they are very useful in the business world. Learned a lot.. would definitly recommend her! She is one of the few who care!!!!
Her tests are difficult but this is college people! The only downside to the online lecture is that her voice is so soothing that you cant help but get sleepy, other than that she is a great prof. lol sometimes in the online lecture you can hear her cats fighting in the background ;)
Excellent professor. Always goes above and beyond to assist students. The tests are kind of hard so make sure you study and look over the online lectures. A lot of projects and some can be time consuming so don't wait until last minute. The only good thing is you can earn up to 20 points of extra credit so that can help your grade.
GREAT PROFESSOR!! I actually learned the office suites and not just memorized how to do projects like in Computers in Business which is the pre-req. She is extremely helpful and gives lots of e/c opportunities. Does not help after 5pm on fri, TAs either, and projects are due online Sat., so do them before that time. Study guides r good 4 exams!
A pretty good teacher. I was not a fan of the grading scale.. Projects should be worth more than tests in her class. I got C's on the tests and ended up with an A. I didnt buy the book but I would recommend it. Lots of EC too
ok these people are retarded. This class gives so much bonus points that I ended up with a 106% with little effort. Hards tests?!! NO WAY. We live in the age of the computer, if you think these concepts are hard you need to drop out of college. I didn't study and still got a 100% on the first test!!! Great teacher
Awesome teacher! Always willing to help. She is very nice and she knows her stuff. Any question she can answer. I took her for the online course. It actually is very, very time comsuming but you learn a lot, and it is helpful to know, especially if you are going into business. I would take her for every computer class if I could.
Horrible!!!!!!!! She wasn't willing to help at all. Was rude and hard on all of us! projects are extremly hard and long and her tests are tricky! I hated this class more than anything!
This professor is strict, but fair. The class is point accumulation from projects and exams. The effort you put in is what you get. If you really want to do well make time for this class set aside time and watch all the tutorials. Keep up and be punctual with work. This class can be easy A if you want it to be.
not many people care about this stuff but it's used in practically all businesses worldwide today. shes a very helpful teacher but you have to do the projects on time and watch the powerpoints to do well on her tests. projects arent that bad just dont wait til the last minute to do them. would recommend Barb Warner.
Great teacher and class. Projects do take time. Exams are fairly easy but have to know everything in the chapters! There's always a TA online or in office to help. Lots of extra credit opportunities! Class is kinda boring but interesting in some ways. I loved this class. It was an easy A. Nice teacher and helps with everything!
DISGUSTING!!! I agree with everyone that class is interesting and you will use the stuff in real life but prof. is totally useless. she offers ECs but then she will try her best to keep an avg. at 70. how outrageous!!! her website is broke. there are no instruction for MAC MS office. she tries everything she can to keep the avg. low- wt an idiot
Great professor! Very helpful, clear on projects and tests. Take the online class - no need to go to class when you can watch same lecture from your home computer. Very nice and knowledgeable about what she teaches. Lots of extra credit!
Take the online class. It's better than wasting away your life in a lecture hall. She cares about her students but the projects she gives are ridiculous. Each is worth only 30 points but takes FOREVER to complete. Extra credit is given and the tests aren't too difficult as long as you watch the lecture and study the powerpoint notes.
great teacher...very helpful. everything you need to know is put on her personal tips website so no prior computer knowledge is really needed at all.Highly recommended.
She gives step by step instructions to assignments. It's almost impossible to fail.
I love Professor Warner. Her lectures are not interesting, but it is easy to do well in this class if you ask questions and start projects early. Covers Excel, Access & HTML concepts. Exams are easy if you read & know definitions. Both she and the TA's make themselves available & are very helpful. DEFINITELY RECOMMEND her for this course! :]
AWESOME PROFESSOR!! She honestly cares about her students! She gives step by step directions for all the projects, grades fairly, and offers a TON of extra credit! Tests can be a little tricky so just make sure you do her study guide. She makes it very easy to do well in her class. DEFINETLY TAKE HER! My favorite teacher so far!
Prof. Warner is an awesome teacher! Unlike other professors who teach online classes, I felt Prof. Warner was actively involved in teaching. I felt she actually cared about her students - for instance, she emailed me to tell me I did a great job on an exam! I've never had a teacher do that and it was nice.
This woman is what college-level teaching should look like. She's organized, clear, helpful, and easy to contact. She also gives a lot of chances for extra credit! If you do poorly, it's your own fault.
This teacher is very organized and helpful. I took the online class and it was so simple because of how she has everything layed out and so many helpful hints. I think the only way you wouldn't pass the class is if you didn't try to do the work at all. I didn't use the book at all and have gotten by just fine. Overall, great teacher and easy class.
This was a pretty simple class. Some of the Access projects take awhile but overall pretty easy. Take it online.
Took Info Systems in Organizations online. Class was fairly easy, just make sure you read the chapters and/or use online study materials from the book prior to the exam. Most exam material is derived from the book and lecture material. Prof Warner is extremely nice and helpful -- don't hesitate to ask her or a TA if you have a question.
Awesome teacher. She makes the information as engaging as possible and has a spectacular website of tips and videos for creating office documents. Very useful class for anyone going into the business field and there is no better teacher to take.
She IS a good teacher but i cant stand listening to her already. she always pauses and says 'um' every 2 secs.
Awesome teacher....awesome class - ISM 3011
Projects are easy - she tells you exactly what to do step by step. Tests aren't that hard. She gives lots of extra-credit opportunities.
Great prof, VERY strict on her "no sharing" policy for projects. Projects are tedious and get old FAST. Exams aren't terrible. Attendance is optional as she posts all lectures online. She is VERY willing to help out. HIGHLY recommend her. This class could be WAY worse. Read the book, attend or watch her lectures, do the projects, and you will pass.
This class is pretty interesting. The projects take about 2-4 hours to complete depending on how much of a perfectionist you are. The tests are pretty hard and you will have to study a lot for them but Professor Warner gives a lot of extra credit opportunities which make up for the hard tests. My grade went from a B to an A with the extra credit.
Interesting material. She is very straight forward and goes out of her way to help. If you watch the lectures and skim through the chapters then the exams are pretty easy. Take the time to earn all the extra credit points and get as many points possible on the projects and you won't have to stress so much over the exams.
Great Prof! Take her & you will be happy! 7 projects 3 exams & 1 final. Do all available extra credit. Projects straight forward but time consuming. do well on them & helps grade cushion for tests. Take this class online. Great recorded lectures & helpful tips online. Probably could get by without book. Just check out the publishers powerpoints.
Overload of information and much of it seems irrelevant towards the subject taught. If you are good with Microsoft Office this class is a breeze, but if you are not you are going to be busy.
She is amazing, class is demanding and is not really easy to get an A. Make sure you do all the extra credit and do not waste points on projects. Tests are hard.
She is a great professor! Very caring and knowledgable. I will take her class again if she is teaching other class. You need to do a lot of work to have a better score of your tests and spend a lot of time finish the projects.
I didnt buy the book- would have been much easier if I did. The projects take time but its do-able. Buy the book and time ur projects right for an A
Very nice & fair. Responds to emails promptly & does regrades on projects when asked. Projects can take some time but take good notes when she reviews them & you should be good to go. Tests are hard & have a lot of terms from her slides and book. 4 tests that had MC & short answer questions. Do all the extra credit (very easy) to help boost grade.
This teacher is quite paranoid, and her paranoia causes stress among students. There is no teaching involved, so if you do not know how to create something, you're on your own. She also does not cooperate well with soldiers, so if you need a teacher that can work with your schedule while you serve your country, I do not reccomend this teacher.
Professor Warner is great! Attendance is not mandatory but there is an opportunity for extra credit points at every class. She has step by step tips to help with all the projects, very easy if you just do what she tells you to do. She tries to make the class interesting with current events in the IT/Business world. Would def take her again.
In short; great teacher and would definitely take another class with her. She is clear on whats on the exams, gives lots of extra credit, very helpful if you don't understand anything, and gives reasons for any mark downs on projects(in detail). Recommended.
Great Professor. Projects are simple but take time if you are not computer savvy. Attendance is not mandatory but there is an opportunity for extra credit points at every class. You will learn a lot from her
very nice professor. Projects are easy but time consuming. Keep up with the weekly notes. Take online class!!! Book needed!
To be honest this was one of the most boring, grind it out, type of classes I have ever taken, but Prof Warner does everything she can to make it interesting, make herself and TA's available, and is more than fair. I never used the book, did average on tests and completed all the projects on time and mostly correct. Happy with the end result (B).
She has a syallbus but changes it several time. undecisive teacher.. u must kno everythin in order to pass the test..i mean everything to pass wit an a..boring if you have it for a night class.it just drags on and on
I took online and learned a lot. I was worried it would be a lot of repeated info, but it was very up-to-date and different from my other computer classes. The projects are long but you will learn a lot from doing them and that knowledge can be used in any industry. Every business person needs this class to compete in today's world.
Easy class. Do the projects exactly as outlined, and review material before tests and you will get an A.
Very easy class, do the projects, review before the exams and do all the extra credit. If you can't get an A+ in this class or are struggling, you're in for a rough college career. This is as easy as it gets.
Online Class. She was responsive to emails and tried her best to help. Don't cheat or else you'll ruin the tests for everyone else! She found someone cheating and made the rest of the tests short-answer instead of M/C.
Because someone cheated last semester, the tests have changed to 70 points of short answer essay questions. She gives you a study sheat with a rediculous amount of questions to remember. Short answers dont really explain all of them. Too much time for what should be a more simple class. Thanks to the cheaters!
Not a bad teacher, but her tests are super hard. The study material takes days to learn. It's not worth it. This class deterred me from learning about management information systems.
Super easy. The projects can be done in an hour or less. The tests are all basic knowledge, just use the study guide a week before the test. Other than that I never watched any of the lectures or read any of the material. This class is just VERY basic microsoft software instruction.
projects are easy exams are hard if you are not good at memorizing information. questions are short answer, she gives you about 3x the amount of questions to study. there will be 2 questions to answer and she will give you 15 to memorize. and about 50 terms that you have to memorize definitions for with only 13 to answer
Very well organized, projects are straight forward and there is nothing unexpected on the exams. Start on the study guide about a week ahead of time and be sure to do all the extra credit. Take the class online and save time.
Mrs. Warner is probably one of the best teachers at USF. The projects were a cake, the tests were a little difficult but we ended up doing essay questions because people got caught cheating. shes down to earth and will help you with anything from her class or with something else to do with ISM.
I had her online class and it was easy. The projects were explained well in her overviews. She gives tips to show you how to do most things. The tests are hard if you cant memorize things well. You get a review about a week ahead of time with 25 questions. 12 of them will be on the test and you must answer 10...all short answer. 20 defs. Take her!
Barb Warner is an excellent instructor. Projects are explained very well, study guides are provided, and test questions are drawn from the study guide nearly verbatim. Cool videos and links made the class very interesting. I highly recommend her!
You definitely have to earn your grade in this class. Lots of work but also a lot of extra credit. The only thing I didn't like was the lack of trust for students.
Excellent instructor! Projects are explained very well n she teaches what you will need to know when you get a job. Study the vocabulary and weekly questions (3 test 12 ?'s drawn from these). Cumulative final not mandatory. Several projects that take time if you are not familiar with access or excel. You will need book. Bonus points avail in class.
She is a wonderful teacher. She is explains everything so clearly. She gives tons of extra credit. Do them all!
OMG this class was hard. Supposedly she made the class super hard after some cheating incident. Test is horrible, studied and the questions were short response, and hard! Did I say hard yet? Matching sections killed my class. Project grading extremely harsh and unfair. TA's in charge of that... :\ Good luck.
She must have gotten more strict with her grading than previous semesters. I think her class is a bit ridiculous. I am taking it online and there is way to much unnecessary work. It is not to difficult if you like to learn on your own with no direction. The exams are ridiculous. I am doing well in the class but I have to put in a lot of effort
Horrible, Horrible, HORRIBLE!!!! Never had a stricter teacher with grading before her. She gave me a 4/30 on an Access project when I completed it to the best of my ability!!! Access is stupid anyway. That's outrageous! Said that a 70 as a class average was great. :0 Really?! What the heck USF, get better professors. This one sucks.
....Worst class ever. Exams are the most pickiest thing in the world, and she MAKES sure you NEVER get a 100% on anything, whether in be on the tests in the projects. Just study end of ppts, at think about it part. The only professor teaching class at USF. Please, get another professor to teach this, I'm worried about my fellow business majors.
SUPER easy class. The professor is dry and doesn't seem to interact with students too well, but she's great online and over e-mail. She's always willing to help and there is TONS of extra credit opportunities, though they can be time-consuming. I put a little bit of effort into the class and got a 94. Definitely recommend!!
Anyone saying this class is HARD is LAZY! Everything u need is available online at ur fingertips, she and the TA's are always online and answering emails if u have any questions.Yes the Access projects aren't easy, they're tedious, but if u sit down for an hour at the library you can get them done, she has a tutorial for everything. Not hard at all!
Probably the easiest core business class that there is. The exams weren't bad with a little bit of studying, and the projects could easily be done after watching her project tip videos. Extra credit available through participation points. Lectures are very tediously boring, though. That was the only bad part of the class.
Very strenuous class, I feel that i applied myself and worked very hard on my assignments trying to do well in this class and i ended up getting a C while i am normally an A student. i recommend making it a little easier for the next semesters students..
Took the online class. There is really no reason you shouldn't get an A+. Projects were easy, tons of opportunity for extra credit. The exams were intimidating, but as long as you study the concepts she says to look at, you'll have enough to write about. Only missed a few points on the exams that i made up for in extra credit. Easy A!
There is a lot of material covered. Her lectures aren't really lectures; all she says is, "you'll read it in the book." I would say the lectures are guidelines, but the book does it better. She doesn't teach but seldom provide a few examples. You must resort to learning on your own; I'm very disappointed with this "teaching" approach.
Professor Warner is fair. Exams were a little more difficult than I had anticipated but it is very likely you can get an A. Computer assignments are very much individual and SHE WILL FIND OUT otherwise. Do attend class...participation was the only issue for me since I did not attend, she's fair just study the end of her power points.
Very interesting class. you will gain real world knowledge. She is funny & makes class interesting. Test are strait forward you answer your choice of short answer the rest of the test is matching & multiple choice. Take Warner online, her & her class are great!!
Took it online but tests were in the Business building. Easy enough class. Doing the Access projects sucked but her videos were clear enough to get a good grade. Tests were good. I got an A
This professor's projects are super hard and count for half of your grade. She does not teach well and her TA's are useless too. Too much information to absorb in too little time.
Fairly straight-forward course. Teacher is extremely fair and helpful. I found the projects to range from easy to medium difficulty; they get easier as you learn. They are time consuming. Definitely compare your final project result to video/rubric she provides. I currently have a 99.3% with exam#3 left.
Great Class , very helpful
A very easy class. You have to do work, but it was one of my easiest classes. Prof. Warner is very nice, and if you are a computer geek, pretty funny. The tests come from the lectures and projects, so stay on task. The projects are not well related to the class lectures, but she has a whole page of "How-to-do" tips.
Prof Warner is great! I took her class online, but I had a chance to speak to her and she's very helpful. Tests are HARD! Short answers and long answers. The book sucked, but we had a bad experience with the publisher, so hopefully it'll change. Projects are time consuming, I'd suggest starting them early. Go to her website for tips. I got a 98%.
Took the online class, not so bad. You must read the book. 10 quizzes, 6 projects, 4 exams (lowest dropped), and offers EC. She is fair but her class is a lot of work. Study for the tests because they are so hard.
I loved this teacher. I got an A even when I didn't do very good on the tests, but on the projects I did excellent and I worked to get the extra credits. She gives you VERY detailed and clear instructions for ALL the projects. The projects are not easy, but I was able to get very good points, even when on some it was my first time working on them.
Awesome, I have emailed her several times with questions and she always responds promptly. She does her best to make the class easy and enjoyable for all. She doesn't teach for my major but definitely THE BEST teacher at USF.
Great professor!! Keeps class interesting and is always willing to help you!! Definitely recommend Barb!!!!!!!!
Professor is very nice. Class wasn't to hard, got an A with little effort. Everything you need is available online, no need to attend lecture as she goes over power points. Great study guides for each exam. Use them and pass with ease.
She is very helpful and answers emails really fast. The class isn't too bad. The tests are really hard, but the projects really outweigh them so as long as you do well on the projects you shouldn't have a problem getting at least a B
This class is simple if you're interested in technology. If not, it could be very difficult. For projects, try to find a group to work on them together, especially the access ones as these are the most troubling. I didn't purchase the book, you can research the topics in the quizzes. Study guides are extremely helpful! TA's were horrible.
If you're going to take this class you are better taking it online. I learned nothing from going to her lectures. Learned from listening to the online lectures & taking notes based on study guides. (need textbook!) Tests are very intensive. 15 MC and 15 short answer w one:two long answers. Stay on top of reading and teaching yourself everything..
Easy class. Many projects. Her tests consist of multiple choice and written answers. As long as you study for her tests and attend the test review you will pass. I downloaded FileZilla (Mandatory for out HTML project) and it gave my computer (along with a few other students) 600+ Virus. Be careful
Mrs. Warner was super sweet and funny. Even though I had a long lecture time, she kept it interesting. I loved her IT News. Her exams are SUPER HARD! But with extra credit and projects I was able to make an A and not take the optional final, with test grades mostly under a B. I totally recommend her, just do well on the other assignments she gives.
Good teacher, attendance really isn't required. Follow her powerpoints and updates, read the reviews for the class... you'll be fine.
All busywork. Take online, don't waste time with lectures. Projects are self explanatory and take a few hours at most. Online quizzes can be done until you get a perfect score. Exams are the hardest part of the class, but not weighted high (each exam is 10% of overall). Go through her review slides and be able to answer all those questions.
Don't procrastinate on projects, they take hours! She's really really nice, I would take her again. She really wants students to learn and enjoy the MIS field. Her instructions are always clear, but the grading is a bit slow.
Good teacher. Made it fun for the non-ISM student
She knows her stuff, has real world experience, very helpful. The class itself might not be interesting to everyone who takes it, however she does a great job of engaging the students and maintaining a good atmosphere. The homework is challenging but she gives great instructions and has a dedicated website with tips.
If you are taking this class, be prepared to put in a minimum of 15 hours a week. You have a project every 2 weeks, 4 quizzes for every test, and 4 tests. She posts a lot of help videos for the projects. Her tests are short answeressay, so you need to study for them. Was an easy class, just very time consuming.
Classes are generally 3 hours long, attendance is pointless and not required. Just devote your time to projects (most of your grade), pass the online quizzes which can be redone multiple times and study as hard as possible for the tests. (Everyone does bad on them but two C's will secure an A). If you can take online DO IT
Took this class and got a D because the tests are insane. Tons of reading and the info can be confusing since its a lot of computer jargon. Tests are MC and short essay and the essays count for quite a bit so be prepared. Taking online now, not much better. Tests now consist of an entire project, multiple choice quiz and really long discussion ?s.
took this class online, she expects you to be a professional in doing excel, access and web design. Offers little to no help as her tips videos are pointless and from 2003. Wouldnt take her and dont think this class should be a requirement, learning nothing but wanting to drop.
DON'T take Warner unless you have no opt, or you're a tech major, with knowledge of website building, MS Access, Excell. Gives 30 min to answer 40 questions on exams. Not involved with grading, only TA's grade, & expect you to obtain programmer experience. It was the worst of all my USF classes. Discourages, instead of motive interest in IT/IS.
Doesn't grade projects honestly and fairly. Reporting to the dean.
DO NOT TAKE HER!!!! This class is just tons of hard projects, and she doesn't teach anything just a kahoot useless thing. AVOIDDD!
Class isn't nearly as bad as people say it is; tedious sure, but not hard in the slightest. Her tip videos tell you how to do the projects and you'll get a perfect/near perfect score if you just follow the instructions. Tests are completely MC and she actually gives 45 minutes. HW is a joke. Just manage your time and it's an easy A.
Good class.
Awesome teacher!
Don't fall behind on wkly assign or you will struggle. She is quick to respond to questions and provides clear grading criteria on the projects. There are 6 proj (2 HTML, 2 Access & 2 Excel) plus 1 of each for each test week. The text reading is mandatory in order to do well on the online hw, which is time consuming. Overall, decent class.
AVOID AVOID AVOID! Worst teacher in all of USF. does not offer help to student and her projects are very unclear. She is also very inconsiderate.
I don't know what everyone else is talking about, this was one of the easiest classes in my business undergrad ever. It's a lot of work, yes, but it should be. It's college. She and her TA's are very helpful if you need it, and the course work is extremely easy if you know how to remotely work Microsoft Office.
Worst class I have taken in my 4 years at USF. She gives a lot of work but few teaching. For a html project, she even makes us to write 800-1000 words original content. She's also unreasonable when it comes to grade, avoid her
She is a very helpful teacher, she worked with me one on one for me to understand the project despite there being over 100 people in the class. You are expected to stay on top of hw that isnt due until right before the test. This is a great beginners course, the only people that dont like the class are the ones who fell behind (irresponsible).
The HTML project was unreasonably difficult. Had to write 800-1000 words of original content while learning to code a website using HTML with little to no direction. Get ready to teach yourself everything you need to know for the projects and spend hours and hours on homework but not retaining any information.
Very sweet professor. I enjoyed the projects, and I learned a lot from them. The textbook and homework are kind of boring and did not teach me much.
The only reason the Warner is on campus is to collect money for the university. She, exclusively, teaches the course and its a requirement for all business majors. The number of students she has a semester is unlimited. Therefore, the more times she fails you the more she makes for the university. Better off flushing tuition money down the toilet.
Warner knows her stuff. The section I took had an optional class on Fridays for project help; I never went. Expect lots of work. 13 chapter quizzes & activities, 5 projects, and 4 tests. She tries to change the class depending on student feedback. Responds quickly to emails and is very helpful. Don't procrastinate and do all the extra credit!
Nice lady, lectures are long so I stopped going. Assigns 1-2 chptrs of reading every week with 3-4 assignments+quiz. Also projects due pretty much ever 2 weeks that you're teaching yourself how to do with the help of her videos and the internet. 4 tests including final which was same pts as other tests. Very time-consuming w projects graded hard.
Are these reviews serious? this is like the easiest class ever. the entire class is online, you don't need to show up. Just do the online stuff which is super easy and do the projects which is also super easy. I accidentally forgot to do 1/3 of class work and passed the deadline, still ended with an A. - note, i Aced the other 2/3
Besides taking a long time to grade projects, she goes out of her way to stay on top of things. She provides lots of opportunities to get points as well as extra credit. She seems to really care about her students doing well. You must have the book or e-book to pass! Reasonable work load. Class projects are really time consuming. I liked her.
Online class. She responds right away every time. Gives awesome feedback. There is A TON of stuff to do in the class - projects, homeworks, quizzes, tests etc etc etc Overall I thought she is great professor. Definitely stop by her office hours to say hi - she is great for real! Would take her again in a heartbeat ) Some extra credit but not much
I would definitely recommend taking this course with a different professor. I will be re-taking the class at a different campus location just so I don't have to take her again. She makes the course way harder than it needs to be with overwhelming projects and boring class lectures.
Took this class summer C online. This class was not fun, but is required. Many projects and homework, but flexible due dates. You get a minute a question for quizzes and tests.
Excruciating course. I am no expert , but I do have common sense. This course will overload you with information that of course, due to the overburden, you will not retain (scientifically proven). Instead of shoving the students with content, focusing in what we need to learn, will really make a difference. After all that is why we go to USF.
I really do not understand the bad reviews. If you have any amount of computer and MS office skills you will get an A. 2 attempts at each quiz, the lowest test grade, lowest hw, lowest quiz is dropped and no final. What more do you want? Professor Warner gives you everything, if you mess this class up you have problems. TAKE IT ONLINE!!
This class was "blended." It was supposed to be a regular class but ended up being mostly online. The only reason to come to class was for help with the projects. You have ti read the book on your own and the homework, quizzes, and tests home directly from the book and are all online. The projects can be time consuming so don't procrastinate.
Definitely take this class when your semester course load is lighter. It is a lot of work between the projects and the HW/quizzes. She is super understanding, works with you, and practically give you all the answers you need for the project. All the projects were straightforward and we had plenty of extra credit. It's more enjoyable than I thought.
Beware of taking time off and using doctor's notes. I was due to receive an A but she wouldn't unlock 3 quizzes and 3 assignments that I missed due to having surgery but they weren't ASSIGNED during that week, they closed during that time so she wouldn't budge even when I asked her prior to the due date and was misinformed. Blah.
I took Professor Warner during the summer (10 weeks) online and found no issue with this course! You were expected to go through about two chapters a week (as this is an accelerated course) with a project every so often. She also gave extra credit projects that really helped my grade!
I never really learned anything.... she got a good grade from me because it's an easy A but if you sincerely hope to gain something from the experience then I would go elsewhere. I did like Ms. Warner and I wonder if I had taken this class in person I would have got more out of it.
Took her online course and she wasnt very helpful when answering her emails. When asking for help she makes you refer to the syllabus. The project instructions were so vague that its hard to understand what shes asking. Wouldnt take again.
Took the online class - easy homework, projects and tests. Professor Warner is very helpful and accessible, make sure you turn everything in on time and put the effort in. Projects are straight forward and she gives step-by-step instructions.
IMS isn't my major not even sure why it was required so that's that. This class consummed much more time than my other two classes together. Test are long and pretty difficult. Just happy its over
She does an amazing job organizing this class and preparing students for all assignments. She gives a generous amount of extra credit and the tests are only 40 mins and are open textbook/internet so I am not really sure why I saw some complaints about the tests. As long as you do all the hw and do extra credit an A is easily attainable.
Really enjoyed this class! Professor Warner makes everything very clear and responds to emails immediately. Lots of projects with detailed instructions and some video tutorials to help understand what you need to do. Not a lot of work. Easy tests that are open notes.
Projects are not particularly hard but they are time consuming. Coupled with the weekly quizzes and multiple tests this class feels almost like you're taking two. She does not teach the book material at all. Class periods are ONLY for project help and the Tests/quizzes have some of the most trivial, asinine questions I've ever seen.
Barbara is an excellent professor who really cares about her students. I took this course online and it was relatively easy. There are like 7 projects throughout this course and they are the main grade factors. All relatively easy and step by step. If you need any help on anything, her or her TAs were avail IN PERSON 4 days every week. Amazing!
ALOT OF WORK, 12 quizzes, 12 chapter homework (2 parts), 5 projects, 4 tests. quizzes, homework, and tests have 95% of the answers online, but very very limited time (20 minutes for 25 questions) for a quiz you get to take twice. Projects very time consuming and she grades hard on, but if you put in the time you'll get an A. Relatively simply work
This class is relatively easy; however, there is a lot of busy work. The quizzes are online (two chances) and tests are open-book. Drops lowest test grade so I opted out of the final. She provides a lot of extra-credit so do the EC projects. My only suggestion is this: follow-directions to the "T" and be detailed as possible for the projects.
This class was tedious! So many assignments due every week and the projects are annoying. You can follow the instructions she gives you stepbystep, but somehow you end up with an F on a project. I also think that she needs to get new TA's because they don't help at all.
Bad communicator
I took this class online and got a A. She has everything you need to know for the projects on canvas. There are a lot of projects BUT there is an extra credit project for every project and it shows you how to do it. I learned Excel, Access, Tableau, Watson , and basic HTML coding. This class really will put you ahead of the others.
Professor Warner spells out everything you need to do to pass her class and get good grades on the assignments. Quizzes are based on reading the chapters in the book, and they are not difficult as long as you have read the chapter. The projects can be time consuming, but all the instructions are detailed.
God awful teacher class is entirely irrelevant to the assignments and the only real help are the teaching assistants. She is not forgiving at all and is willing to let anyone tank their grades over a minor mistake. She is also a terrible communicator and is hard to deal with on all levels.
she helps you in her office if you have any issues. the projects are easy just make sure you do the extra credit ones to help yourself for the official project.
Sweetheart. Barb is amazing and truly cares. her vides make it easy to do the extra credit projects where you can learn how to do the real projects. the projects are long so dont procrastinate but overall not bad. the quiz questions are mostly on quizlet otherwise I would comd search on the e book for answers. pretty easy A if you have time
She is a fair professor, who cares about her students.
The class is pretty straightforward. There is lots of extra credit so even if you do very poorly on the quizzes you can easily make up for them. The projects are easy for the most part however she takes points off for the littlest mistake so make sure that you read the instructions VERY carefully.
EASY A. Half the assignments are extra credit that will walk you through how to do the actual projects. There are quizzes on the book that you dont need to read to figure out. If you do all the extra credit, you can easily score over 100% in the class
Projects suck. She grades super hard and takes points away for tiny mistakes. She is not forgiving and definitely won't let you try and make up for loss of points. Extra credit is worth practically nothing and if you fail one project your grade is screwed. Stay away. Run as fast as you can and don't look back.
Awesome teacher! Her reading assignments suck, but her extra credit is awesome. She assigned like 40-50 points worth of extra credit. Don't bother with the textbook. Just be careful on your projects and dont procrastinate
HER PROJECTS ARE LITERALLY THE MOST COMPLICATED THINGS that I have ever had to do in the past 4 years of college. She sends people to the dean for working together, even if someone else is helping you understand the material. Her projects and quizzes are totally opposite of each other start your projects EARLY!! she is a TOUGH grader. Stay away
You can find all the answers to the quizzes very easily on the book or the internet and there are A LOT of extra credit opportunities. Even though projects aren't very easy, there is so many extra credits and TAs available that it's very hard not to get an A on the class
Good teacher, but lots of work for the projects. Extra credit opportunities are useful
The hardest part about this class is the projects and that's majority of the grade. She's a very strict grader on the projects so unless you go in and ask for help don't expect to get an A. On the bright side, she does make herself and TAs available to help with the projects.
She's a nice and caring professor. We had 4 projects based on Excel, HTML, and Tableau, but the directions were clear and there were a lot of extra credit opportunities. She had one day as a lab day to help with the projects and a lecture based class on the second day. There were also easy quizzes and reading exercises, which you need the book for.
Class is super inaccessible, you need an expensive computer that is fully functioning to even take the class. The library computers will not be enough, to get it done. There is extra credit available but is not worth how much work you put into. The projects take a lot of time, and the instructions are very unclear and do not tell you how to do it.
More than anything just a test to see how well you can manage your time, pay attention to detail and stay motivated. Projects take pretty long and arent graded necessarily easily. Highly recommend doing majority of the EC, really helps your grade and makes the actual projects a little easier. Easy A if you can stay on top of things and do the EC.
Assigns busywork rather than assignments that be of value. poor communication. Every week two assignments and big assignment every other week so in some weeks you have 3 very time consuming assignments just for this one class like students dont take other classes. Avoid if you can.
Makes class way harder than it's supposed to be. The professor is really hard to deal with and not understandable. stay away if you can.
Barb is very sweet and wants you to actually learn about technology. I recommend taking her in person because she gives you helpful tips for the projects and Thursday classes are optional and only for questions. There is so much extra credit there is no possible way to fail. The extra credit is almost identical to the final projects.
I am rating her as a 2 because of how organized her canvas page is. The due dates and deadlines are specified but she made most of the extra credit assignments worth points this semester so don't expect that. She is the worst class I have taken and I wouldn't wish it on anybody. She does not teach. She just shows you what it should look like.
Her teaching is rubbish. She doe not care about students even this quarantine. Worst professor ever at USF. this class is a piece of trash.
Inconsiderate Professor who doesn't teach and doesn't care about the learning process. We going through a pandemic, and literally all professors compromised their assignments for the tough uncertain time, and she still assign very hard assignments offering zero teaching. Goes out of way for students to fail. rude when responding to a question.
Run away and don't look back
One of the worst professors I've ever had throughout my entire college career. Even during a pandemic she's not helpful. Took this course because I was told there were a bunch of extra credit assignments but this semester she made those assignments required. Huge work load that will likely be graded unfairly. Whatever you do, don't take this class.
This professor never teaches guys. She makes fun of the student who asks questions. Terrible communicating and teaching skills. Sure all good comments here are written by her.
She will lay out instructions that can be interpreted differently. She'll post 'overview vids' to projects, which will explain what your projects should look like. That's without going over what really needs to get accomplished/what you need to do SPECIFICALLY. Her TA's are unnecessarily TOUGH graders. They take off points for almost everything.
She is extremely though grader in her projects. I would not recommend her because of this. Her TA's are also tough grader for an introductory info systems class.
This class should've an easy A but the instructions to the projects never had enough detail making this class wayyy harder than it needed to be. I recommend to start each project days in advanced so you have time to work through the problems that you WILL encounter. There is also a pointless 1100 word assignment due every other week.
The only way to get full credit on any of the projects is to go above and beyond what is on the rubric. If you only do what is asked you'll get a low A. Also don't share any of your work with classmates, they can tell if a document has been shared and will give you both 0's even if all you gave someone was an excel sheet with random things on it.
This class definitely takes work and effort, but she isn't as bad as people make her seem. Projects are the most time consuming so start EARLY. I have never gotten lower than an A on any of the projects just follow the instructions and you'll be fine. Gives textbook reading questions that gives you easy A's. It takes effort but its easy.
Even after completing other assignments, you will find that projects will be EXTREMELY time consuming. She offers no clear directions at all. When students approach her or her TA's about questions, they dance around the true direction to go in. Very picky graders, even on reading exercises which are supposedly made to be opinionated! Inconsistent.
I'm sure she's a nice person, but she is not a great professor. USF mandates professors as well to follow certain curriculums, which admittedly adds stress to them as well. This rating is a reflection of BOTH of them. Projects in this class take most of your time. Make sure to do the reading exercises and the extra credit when it is provided.
I actually enjoyed this class very much. Although it was a lot of work it seemed very interesting to me to learn the different things you can create on Microsoft. If you are tech savy it helps very much. Directions for projects are somewhat unclear which makes you go to the TA's a lot.
She is awful. I hope I would take this class with another professor no matter how much harder it would have been. Would definitely not recommend this professor. No matter how much effort you put in your project, she will still give you surprisingly low grade if she doesn't like your topic.
I took ISM 3011 online during summer C. Professor Warner posted videos to guide us through the projects but the projects were easy enough that you didnt need to watch them. The reading exercises are also annoying but easy. Overall, if you follow the instructions to a T its a very easy and straightforward class
Guys please do your self the favor and pick another Teacher. She gave me a F on a project bc I got tutored on it although it didnt go against any rules. Her class is based on projects that she doesnt quit teach. Youll be doing a project summary that has to be over 1,000 words every other week
Very straightforward class, the projects aren't hard and she attaches a video with each of them, the reading assignments are really there to see what you took away from each chapter and honestly, was an easy and fun class to take, 10/10 would recommend
Everyone told me this class was hard but it's not AT ALL you just have to put the time in to it. Each week you either have a project or reading notes to do. They're both stupid easy they just take some time, about 3 hours each week that you can do in one sitting. the projects are really cool. I used to hate excel but she made it feel useful.
She is really inconsiderate when it comes to communicating back and forth on problems like not being able to complete a project due to sickness or no access to WiFi at all. Her rubric is not all she expects and grades really hard on project work. Takes very long to respond to emails. IF YOU NEED IT FOR CREDIT, TAKE IT WITH ANY PROFESSOR BUT HER!
she grades the first assignment of the class (grade calculator) super hard where the class average was an F, this makes it super hard to get your grade up. she is super strict on late work. When i accidentally submitted the wrong file for an assignment she would not take my late submission. I could write so much more on why not to take this class.
Class was not hard as long as you find her how to videos. The hardest part of the class was the final Tableau project. Take advantage of her late work policy, because she will NOT curve grades or allow you to redo old assignments. READING EXERCISES ARE VERY TEDIOUS
This class is a lot of work, but there are tutorials for all of the projects. You have to basically do an outline of each chapter which takes a while, but as long as you don't plagarize, you'll get a 100. She offers extra credit by completing surveys.
Mrs. Warner is the most caring professor I've ever had. Her class is pretty easy, and if you're unsure of anything, she is very willing and able to help. Her class is project heavy so do those on time. I would absolutely take her again in a heartbeat.
The only thing I didn't enjoy about this class was the reading assignments. Get ready to feel like you're in 2nd grade again. Besides that, the class was pretty easy, I wish USF would chill on their Tableau agenda though. Its an easy A, and she gives a good amount of extra credit.
Barbara is very nice and available to the students through office hours and email. There are reading assignments due every week with a project. She gives detailed instructions on how to do them all- very easy. There are 2 exams, both open book and open note- no proctorio. very informative class.
Typical ISM class, good professor. Clear on grading criteria and provided clear instructions .
You mess up 1 minor thing on a project and she will give you like half credit so be careful with her.
LOVE HER! What a caring professor and she genuinely helps out each student. She is very clear on grading and her projects have direct instructions so you dont really need to go to class in person. Reading assignments are long but they are EASY! No quizzes or hard exams as they are not proctored. Do your hw early, so much gives extra credit. TAKE IT
Professor Barb is really nice. She usually give lots of extra credit that will help to gain your grade. I recommend her to take the class. she is ready to help you. Exams are open book then why not :)
Do not skip the projects or turn them in late and I guarantee you will earn an A+, just follow the instructions. Professor W is caring and extremely experienced. Class attendance is optional. Most students complain about the many reading assignments, which is fair; they're long , useless and boring. Textbook and quiz answers can be found online.
This class was mostly busywork consisting of excel, tableau, and HTML projects. Not too hard, but not necessarily easy. If you simply follow the instructions and submit the projects on time, it's an easy A. There are lots of extra credit opportunities.
Assignments are time-consuming but extremely easy. There are 10 point projects which are easy and then 100 point projects which take more thought but are easy. If you go to class, Prof. Warner does extra credit assignments in class. The only thing that's tedious are reading guides but they're an easy A. Just do the assignments and you'll get an A.
TAKE HER!! she is so awesome and helpful. easy class.
Warner is amazing. If you have any questions regarding the projects she will help you out. Do all the work assigned to you, and you will receive an A. It really is that straightforward. Extra credit opportunities are also available. She will not round grades, so just do the work and you don't need to worry about that.
This class was very simple and straight to the point. There are a few projects, but step-by-step instructions are given with video. Reading exercises are given every other week and you must write about what you read for each chapter.
The instruction videos she gives suck. Please save yourself the headaches and dont take this class, assignments that shouldnt take longer than 20 minutes end up taking over an hour because her instructions as well as the videos for them are unclear and will leave you more confused than before opening.
Got a 100% in the class. Easy assignments just the reading exercises are busy work.
I recommend her to take it she is very nice but strict but if you need any help you can talk to her and she is ready to help you. She gave extra credit that helps to boost your grade.
Best class I have taken. You have to complete a word doc given by her about the book every 4 weeks and search for article related to any subject of the chapters. There are 4 projects she provides tutorials for each project. Also, you have to do a Tableau presentation for the last project and uploaded to YouTube. Has extra credit points No Proctorio
You will learn a lot about Excel, HTML, and Tableau. Even if you don't remember anything from Computers in Business, it is still very possible to get an A+. I liked the extremely clear grading criteria. Even though the assignments took too much time, I still enjoyed the class. If you do the work, you will not regret taking professor Warner.
I just started this course and usually I'd wait until I'm done to leave a review but I'm already over it. There's not excessive amounts of homework for starters, but they take forever to do. You will likely take 2-3 hours per assignment so keep that in mind. Maybe I'm just lazy but don't wait last minute but the class should be passable.
The work isn't too difficult but is VERY time consuming. The videos hardly cover what is required in the projects. Reading assignments for every chapter. Beware of the positive reviews!! I'm a decent student but the workload for this class is intense.
I saw a lot of negative reviews about this class which scared me but it was not that bad. All you need to know is start early on projects always, they are time consuming, but I found the directions to be pretty clear. You will have to read some, but it will help you on quizzes. This is not a hard class if you genuinely try and have the time for it.
The final project was the most screwed thing in history. So unnecessary. An entire tableau project on your own, an essay about 4 pages without the pictures and a video along it to describe your project?! A lot of people turned it in late and the average was garbage bc nobody wanted to do it. Even though I enjoyed the learning, I hated this class.
I loved this class, I hated the reading assignments but loved the HTML and excel work this class was a lot though, i took it over the summer which didn't help. She's a pretty easy grader though which helps. I would recommend her. The assignment are not hard she walks you through all of them its just time consuming.
Not a hard class if you read the instructions and watch the tip videos she makes for each project. Assignments are only yime consuming if you don't put in effort to learn. Professor Warner and the TA's were very helpful during office hours.
please im begging you don't take this class. I just began and it is absolutely the largest workload for a class I have ever had. and terrible instructions. Really regret taking this already
The amount of homework is extremely terrifying, the grading standard is very unclear, and it is given to the teaching assistant for scoring, the score is extremely low, and the email reply is extremely slow
This professor deserves negative reviews. Her teaching methods are terrible. Her instruction videos are designed to confuse you. She should resign it is in the best interests of everyone
Work load is insane and unrealistic for someone who is taking 4 classes
I don't even have her as my official teacher for ISM, I have Dennis Walpole, but Barbara Warner is always the one who grades our projects. I have spent hours on each project, trying to follow all of the instructions. No matter what I do, I always get a bad grade. Maybe she's a nice lady for all I know, but this class sucks.
Can't believe I got x hours closer to my deathbed doing excel projects and caveman connect modules. Would have rather spent that time on a cross
too much homework and projects
Time consuming but doable if you actually enjoy learning about the basics of html, excel, etc then this class should be fairly easy. Step by step vids for some projects and others are more of a figure it out type of thing, which for me was not horrible but challenging at times. Do the projects, connect assigs, and read the textbook(not too bad).
Lots of work, but it's an online class. Some projects harder than others. She made good videos.
Lots of hw. Gives extra credit. Projects are time consuming but easy. 2 exams, questions come from connect activities. If you put in the work, easy A.
She wasn't bad at all just the workload is a lot sometimes with 6-8 things due sometimes (only the adaptive learning sucked tbh). She provides step-by-step videos on how to do the projects just watch them and do what she does. Class is a little consuming with projects so watch out.
Prof shows students how to do projects (web design, excel, tableau) while knowing when to stop and encourage/nudge students to innovate on their own and realize their potential. However, weekly Connect assignments were a pain to do- they centered around theoretical concepts of technology. She also explains tech warmly without talking down to you.
terrible
The class itself is easy, but the professor and her TAs are the problem. There's a lot of easy but time consuming homework. The projects are super easy but beware of getting marked for plaigarism for writing down a job description. Even if sources are cited you will get a 0% for describing a job, which is what we were instructed to do.
At face value, this class is not that difficult. At USF, this class is relatively average for the content that is covered. Although, the oversaturation of projects and busy work is crazy. The TAs are incredibly inconsistent with their grading. Additionally, Professor Warner is not at all empathetic about minor mistakes, etc.
Professor Warner was an amazing professor, She was very clear in what the assignment were and had great availability for office hours. I took a fast pace online course and It was very easy with Professor Warner. She gives a summary of exactly what is due each week and her grading is true to your work.
Her academic integrity rules are horrible. First of all she cannot teach then she goes above and beyond giving students a difficult time. Her job is to make things difficult and she should quit teaching altogether. She has hard projects including Tableau which is a misery plus a VIDEO.She is the worst professor at USF and has no business teaching.
With it being an online class during the accelerated Summer term, professor Warner sent out weekly announcements with everything that was due. The class itself isn't hard at all, but the projects can be time intensive- just be sure to plan ahead and double check everything with the rubric; there are also extra credit opportunities available!
DO NOT TAKE WITH HER PLEASE
Projects are 60% of your total grade. Instruction for all of these projects is way too confusing.
Projects come with clear instructions and videos. Connect assignments are annoying but easy. Should be an easy A as long as you put the effort in.
Horrible teacher do not take her classes.
If I could give a "worst professor at usf" award I'd give it to her. She doesn't care about students or life outside of her class. She gives an absolutely insane amount of difficult homework. AND THEN she grades it like we are doctorate level students. Do not take.
This is the worst professor I have ever had at USF. She doesn't care about her students. You miss one small thing, you will receive a zero. Mark my words, don't take her!
I took this class online and while it was challenging, an A is easily attainable. Each week you have connect actives and throughout the course you have excel, html, and tableau projects. These projects are time consuming so start early and read the directions. She does post step by step tutorials on the projects and that's how I got an A:)
The worst professor I've had at USF. I thought I knew Excel but this class took it to another level. She provides videos for each assignment but they are vague and if you missed an assignment/don't do well on it, you don't have time to go over it since you're too busy doing the next week's assignments, all of which are very time-consuming.
This is the most tedious and time consuming class. Inconsistent grading with TAs, extensive projects - could easily lessen workload while maintaining the course content. I felt multiple times she is very emphatic and lacks awareness in terms of how busy students are and the grunt/busy work she assigns. Truly terrible course and Professor.
stay away. takes up a lot of time for bs
I'm not sure why there are negative reviews about inconsistent grading. Any assignment can be regraded within a month of the given grade. Each video in the assignments demonstrates what is needed, you just have to do it yourself. While the course load is large, each and every one can be completed with dedication. Office hours are also a great help.
The class is definitely time consuming with the amount of assignments we have to complete but as long as you do them its an easy A. No exams, about 6 projects with smaller extra credit points available at the end of the year. In class participation almost every week so you'll need to attend lectures.
The other reviews about professor Warner are true, she goes really fast during the in class participation and if you didn't pay attention in class then the projects are hard to do. She's nice and is willing to help you on the projects after class.
The class is very project heavy with Excel/Tableau and HTML. A lot of the times I felt like it was too much work. Grading is not the best either. She is not ideal but you will at least pick up some good skills in Excel and HTML. You will have to put a lot of effort in but at least you get something valuable out of it.
The class was pretty easy and fun. I just did Excel, tableau projects, and HTML. There is participation in each class, so I would definitely show up. On some projects, the instructions are a little vague; not that harsh of a grader. There is a textbook assignment plus a quiz each week, but they are pretty easy.
She is extremely knowledgable about the courses she teaches. I struggled with some mental health concerns throughout the semester and she was very understanding. I learned A LOT in this class honestly. There is a lot of homework and pretty time consuming projects but she is always there to answer questions. I would recommend her class to anyone.
The work was not hard although very tedious and lots of it. If you have a busy summer I wouldn't suggest it. Professor is kind and sweet.
Class is easy as long as you don't procrastinate. Connect assignments/ assessments are annoying but easy. Projects take more time but she posts walk-throughs on YouTube. Last Tableau project is the most time-consuming so DON'T wait to start it till the day before. I took her during the summer and realistically spent ~3 hrs a week on this class.
Professor Warner covers a lot of practical material like Excel and HTML, but the workload can be heavy. Attend class, use online tools like unstuckstudy ai for study prep, and you'll develop valuable technical skills, even if the grading feels inconsistent at times.
A lot of homework every week, but can be easy if you read the textbook enough. The quizzes, labs, and homework are open book, no exams but a final project at the end of the semester.
The course was okay, the work was easy there's just a lot due every week. It's about Tableau, there's videos online in the textbook that show you how to create the charts/etc that are assigned, quiz, online participation, online check-ins, & a review activity (every week). There was no point attending in-person class, she barely taught the course.
Good professor but in-person attendance is not mandatory to be honest. The only challenging part was the final project but she gives you enough time to start that. As long as you are on top of everything then this class is pretty easy.
She does all she can to make sure you understand how to use the tools required for the class. She is very patient when asked questions, and the material is not crazy difficult. Most of the tests and quizzes are from the online platform where there are video lectures to go along with the readings, so i recommend watching the videos to save time.
She will make your life complicated. Do not waste your time taking this class with her. Gives endless amounts of homework and has TAs who are as confused as her. They grade you harshly to look efficient. Never make a minor mistake. You will get a 0.
