Great professor, very interesting class-and I hate writing!

This has been one of my favorite classes I've ever taken. He is such an enthusiastic teacher and I would recommend this class to anyone.

He is a very fair teacher. He will work with the students to make sure they understand the curriculum and so forth.

Extremely helpful. Almost too easy (reluctant to take control when people start talking excessively), but a good teacher overall.

Very charistmatic instructor. Good at reinforcing students who participate in class. You'll end up with good self-esteem. 5 page essays required, easy quizzes. Recommended.

It is a great discussion class. He grades hard on his paper's but it pays off to meet with him about them before you turn it in. No tests, just a few quizzes. A lot of reading.

Barclay is always positive and laid back. The work is easy if you keep up and the papers aren't too long. He is a great person and good at what he does. Highly recommended. (And he's pretty easy on the eyes!)

His class was so much fun and I learned a lot about Shakespeare. He is a very intelligent professor and he is also very helpful in every paper you write. I still go to him for help! Plus, it doesn't hurt to have a hot professor once in a while! Makes english fun!

This is an amazing professor! I had him for more than one class, and he always made it worthwhile to go. He's lots of fun, and funny... not to mention easy on the eyes ; )

He's really good. He looks like he's only 30. As long as you turn your papers on time, pay attention, and show up every class, you will be fine. There are easier English professors out there, but you should take Professor Green. What you learn from his class is priceless. It will help you throughout and after your college career.

Well... I really don't like writing all that much so this class was kinda a bore. After the first paper all the lectures are the same. He's a nice guy and he grades fair. I guess there are worse teachers out there.

This professor has always been one of my favorites on campus. He is very professional and a joy to be around. His base of knowledge is unbelievable and I'm always learning something new in his classes. He really is a wonderful professor.

certainly on of the best proffesors i ever had. grading are tough but if u lokking tolearn something then u should go for this proffessors. if u r regular to the class and see the proffesor in his office u'll get an A

He is a great professor and really focuses on helping people one on one which is a great quality. Explains things well, and easy to talk to. He is hilarious. Manages time between actually teaching and telling stories of his hilarious weekend adventures, including talking about Tom Brady and George Clooney.

good teacher, easy class if you read the books

I took 2 years off school and hadn't written an essay since 2005, but Prof Green is very helpful if you stop by his office, and if you follow the criteria set in class for the essays, you're good to go. (Provided you know what grammar is.) I would recommend this class for your eng101 class. :)

Very good! He does have high expectations on the papers you write, but he is very helpful with ideas and explanation.

Pretty easy going teacher, he does make Shakespeare interesting to learn about it. We had two quizes and three papers. Just do the work and you'll do fine.

Great teacher, higly recommend if you have an interest in writing and are willing to try hard. Do not take the course if you just want an easy grade because he is tough and only allows two absences. However those who are willing to work at it and show up everyday will learn alot from him and will get an A.

Dr Green is great. He's entertaining. I think he really understands that Shakespeare is boring to most and tries to mix things up in class a bit. I learned a lot as well as had a good time.

Barclay Green is fabulous! I didn't know too much about Shakespeare before this course, but I was exposed to his works in a fun way! Dr. Green is very educated and has a unique sense of humor which brings lots of laughs and smiles to the classroom. He will answer ANY questions you have and he BRINGS REESE'S CUPS!!! We even have doodle contests!

This teacher talks like a superhero, he is really intimidating the first day then second day in he is crazy. He has attendance policies so come to class.

Barclay is a phenomenal teacher. This is my second class I have taken with him. He is very approachable and truly cares about his content area as well as his students. The papers can seem daunting because you have to come up with your own topic but overall it helps you become a better critical writer. Take him, put in effort and you'll do great.

Professor Green is awesome!!! He is extremely helpful with writing papers. Even if you are not that great at writing you will still do very well in the class. Show up to class and read the assigned reading and you will pass!! He even brought us reese cups on the last day of class!!

I hate taking English courses, just because english is not my thing. I always made more complicated than it really was, Professor Green taught me how to look at writing in a different perspective, that made writing easier and more enjoyable. An amazing professor=)

Barclay is a funny guy and clearly knows his stuff when it comes to Shakespeare. His classes go by fast if you join in on the discussion. It also helps if you read the plays rather than do the sparknotes. He's a nice guy though and his class is interesting. Not too challenging, but expect to read a lot.

Was a very fun teacher who gave us Reese's Cups. I have not any classes about Shakespeare and I learned a lot in this class.

Prof. Green is an awesome professor!! It is not hard at all to get an A if you show up for class and read the assignments given. He is very helpful and funny. The class goes by really fast and we got out early a lot! I highly recommend Prof. Green for anyone taking ENG 101!!

Great professor, really knows his Shakespeare. Fun class and you learn a lot, assuming you read and join in on class discussions. Would reccomend him, should be more professors like him on campus.

I will never be able to thank this professor for the amount of help he's given me as a student. He's extremely helpful. Great teacher. Very passionate about Shakespeare and encouraged students to be also. Class is really easy and the discussions are fun. Read the plays and you'll do fine. Speak up and discuss and the class will go fast and easy.

Dr. Green is an awesomke Shakespeare professor. He makes learning Shakespeare fun and interesting. He also gives Reeses cups and cookies.

he is a great teacher. I really enjoyed and learned a lot from the class. Not to hard. you have three papers and they are not hard, either. he helps you out if you need help. He thinks he is funny though, so just laugh at his jokes. he is a PLAYYAAAA.

Make sure you read the short stories for his quizzes. It's easy reading and the quizzes are really straightforward. If you need help-he's there. He really cares about seeing his student succeed. Not to mention his class is hilarious and entertaining. Definitely one of the best professors I've ever had. Take him if you can.

This guy makes Shakespeare interesting and even fun. His lectures are extremely engaging and entertaining AND he can come up with some great segways on the fly! Definitely an English professor I will be following.

I got him the hot pepper because I know how much it means to him. Kidding aside, he is a great lecturer, he's funny, and you'll really learn a lot. The man knows his Shakespeare. There is something strange about his obsession with the film Troy, but we all have our odd qualities. I recommend him highly.

Prof. Green is so awesome! His class was fun and he was always very clear about what he expected. We had to write 3 papers. They were easy. He offered help, as well as giving extra points to those who used the writing lab or did extra work. Definitely take Prof. Green! You will NOT regret it!!

This silver fox of a Shakespeare professor provides clear examples, gives adequate information on each topic, provides endless help and comments, engages class discussions, goes above and beyond the call of duty, and gives Reese Cups to doodle contest winners. What else could you ask for in a professor?!

This is very straightforward class. He leads very interesting class discussions on the literature and never a dull moment. He does talk about Brad Pitt a lot but its funny. His exams are very fair given the discussion questions he gives. Make sure to show analysis & proof thru examples on the test. He is a tough grader. Def. take his class!

Dr. Green is a GREAT professor! There are no assignments besides te readings, so your grade is based entirely off tests and attendance (and quizzes, if any)which can be a bit intimidating, but Dr. Green makes the material so interesting that you'd be hard pressed not to learn it well enough to pass. I hope I can take another class with him.

awesome start to my college career. barclay made the english subject seem so simple when it seemed so hard before i got to class. he makes it very clear about what you need to do in class and is able to put it in baby terms if you don't understand. and i'm gonna give him a pepper for i know how much it means to him.

Barclay combines hard work with brilliant insights and humor. As long as a few students pitch in during discussions, time is never a drag in this class. NKU has a superb English Department and Barclay Green is one of their best.

In a simple way, he is the best. He gives you what ever you need in order to get high grades. I'd highly recommend taking his class if you could.

Dr. Green is a great teacher! He makes the class very simple and is good at explaining if you don't get it. He is understanding of situations also. You don't have tests! A couple quizzes on the readings and three papers are your grade. Which can be good or bad but they are pretty easy so I would think good :) I would recommend taking Dr. Green!

Professor Green is legit! He knows what he is talking about and when you are in his class you always have fun! He is very understanding. He tells you what he expects from his students on the first day. You take a couple reading quizzes and you have to write three papers, one of which is your final exam grade. I would definitely recommend! TAKE HIM!

I loved his class so much! He was always very helpful and open to give advice! If you don't take him, you're just plain not thinking! I felt that I learned a lot, while having fun at the same time!

Dr. Green is by far the best professor i have taken at NKU. He is truly passionate about the subject and can transition seamlessly from tangents to necessary information to ensure the class stays interesting at all times. You will be required to write 2 papers that will account for essentially your entire grade, but he is always giving paper topics

Loved taking his class!!! He is amazing, the time flew by in discussions and were always interesting. My favorite day of the week was my this evening class! :) One of my favorite college Professors, I will always reflect back and what a great experience his class was. Thanks Professor Green! :)

One of the greatest professors at NKU. I took him just for an English credit, and I'm glad I did. He will always keep you entertained and will make you laugh constantly. It's IMPOSSIBLE to get on his bad side. If he's having a bad day, mention Tom Brady, he's pretty obsessed.

BEST ENGLISH CLASS I'VE HAD IN MY LIFE!! I'm going to literally cry when I leave this class because it is THAT good. I HATE writing papers but he is such a good professor that I love the challenge. He is VERY clear and makes sure EVERYONE understands what he wants in your papers. You can't find another english professor like him, he's awesome!!

Barclay is the best and coolest professor I've had. If you get the chance to take his class definitely do it. You WON'T regret it. It's a lot of reading but he makes them work for every student. It is a discussion based class. I loved this class and I wish he taught 203 but alas he does not. He makes you want to learn the course.

You write like four papers. He is super funny and makes dad jokes, which is hilarious. He is a great guy. I want to keep taking his class. You have to read like 4 essays before you write an essay and he gives pop quizzes that are like 5 questions, super easy. DOES NOT PUT GRADES IN BLACKBOARD!

Barclay is an absolute gem. I take him every chance I am able. He makes Shakespeare fun and his passion for it is evident. His dad jokes are on point and his stories about his family are precious and somehow always related to what we are reading at the time. If you can take a class with him, do it. He will change your life.

I took his Film & Lit class (Shakespeare focused) and I looked forward to class every morning. He gives amazing feedback and its insanely helpful. I loved this professor. I am an awful writer and he made the process so easy. You can tell he genuinely cares about all of his students and he always has such an amazing attitude and he will make your day 100x better. He does do pop quizzes on readings before essays but if you read the excerpt its easy!

Awesome prof, he really guides the discussions and helps make sense of the potentially challenging language in the readings. My biggest advice: GO. TO. CLASS. You seriously dont even have to read anything if you go to class, he explains the themes entirely. He wont randomly call on people either, so dont worry about getting exposed for not reading

He is very energetic and always open to ideas/opinions that students have about the novels that we read. He sticks to the syllabus really well. The only out of class homework is reading. He always makes sure to give notes on what is going to be on a quiz. Only two essay papers are required--midterm and final. Doesn't post grades on canvas.

Wonderful professor! Made the class interesting and as long as you show up and do the work (which is easy) you will pass with no problem.

I absolutely loved this professor. This class was so easy, as long as you showed up to class and took good notes, you will pass. He really cared about the material he was teaching and our class as a whole. The only grades you have to worry about is coming into class and taking three or four exams. I am really glad I took this course with him.

Dr. Green is a wonderful professor, even if you arent an English major I highly suggest taking one of his courses just to have him as an instructor! The grading is consistent and the assignments are clear and to the point. He is understanding and makes class fun. Definitely take him if you can!

I loved having professor green! He is very sweet and friendly. He gives good feedback on your papers and only wants the best for you. I would take him again. You do need the textbook as a lot of assignments need the book, but all assignments are very easy to complete. Work wasn't tough and it wasn't a big overload of work.

Prof Green is a great professor. He only gives us 2 discussion board replies per week. His instructions videos are helpful and easy to understand. There are 4 exams but it's easy to receive good grades if you pay attention to the videos and discussion board replies

MR GREEN GIVES GOOD FEEDBACK AND DEFINITELY CARES ABOUT STUDENTS GRADES. HE GAVE 3 WRITING PROJECTS BUT WOULD HAVE A BRAINSTORMING, ROUGH DRAFT AND MID DRAFT BEFORE THE FINAL DRAFT. ALL THIS WAS JUST TO HELP PREPARE YOU FOR THW WRITING ASSISGNMENT

Great guy! Really passionate about Shakespeare. Each class is guided through what we read between classes. Cool Professor, lots of fun! Graded on a couple of papers and small quizzes he gives verbally.

The text required to read throughout this course can be found online for FREE!! Dr. Green is a great professor and makes the class a lot more enjoyable. There aren't many assignments which means the few tests given are what make your grade.

An amazing professor. His humor is different, in a weird funny way. I love it. SUPER lenient; I turned in almost all of my papers late. Not a super hard grader, also always responds to emails!

I took class online and everything was organized and clear. There were three papers for the full semester each had three drafts which made it easier to fix mistakes along the way. There are helpful videos explaining the writing projects.

Turn everything in on time and you''ll be okay. He's very easy to talk to and great to ask for help. Attendance is graded.

Everyone says this, but BG really is hillarious. It's a pretty straightforward class- read something, discuss it, and he guides you to a reasonable conclusion about what the story/poem means. The classes do get pretty tedious sometimes, though. Often felt like 20-30min could have been cut off pretty easily.

He's the coolest English professor I've ever encountered, and every class is filled with countless discussions on interesting topics inside and outside of textbook context. Not many assignments, and gives meaningful feedback on exams.

It was the coolest English course I've ever taken. Every lecture was filled with interesting and hilarious discussions. Often shared personal stories and made almost every story/poem intriguing. We often referred to him as a CHAD.

You will have 4 grades and that is your "exams". His exams are literally 10 short answers and 2 extended responses. They will be over the genre you are reading and the stories you read. It is a very easy class. Classes were just topics. No homework except the online exams.

Dr. Green is so fun and happy! He gives you time to work on essays in class, with a brainstorming day, a draft day, and a peer review day before you have to submit. 4 writing pieces, each 200 points. Very lenient. Cancelled many classes my semester. Homework is reading over excerpts from books, which we then discuss in thoughtful conversations.

Clearly loves his job and cares about students, loved the class and the discussions. Expectations are very clear, and class mostly consisted of doing the readings and talking about them with the occasional open-book exam. Yes, you need to read a bit because it's an English class, but it's a perfectly reasonable amount w short stories, poems, plays.

Prof Green makes this English class fun and straightforward. Readings, discussions, and exams are reasonable. unstuck ai was a helpful study tool alongside the textbook.
