Lectures are funny and interesting, not boring. Tests are hard, make sure to study and do the review. Tests are based on understanding not memorization, necessarily.
Professor Farkas cares and seem to worry about our learning. The whole thing about this class is to get the concepts. The study guides are great to prepare for tests. He can get chatty at times, but he keeps it at 100. Take him!
The best dude ever. Felt more like friends by the end of the class. Very nice, intelligent, and makes class extremely entertaining. I'm definitely taking the second part with him!
Probably one of the best professors I have ever taken, He genuinely cares about his students, and will do what he can to help you succeed. If you plan on taking him, get ready to laugh at some great jokes (some not so great jokes, ha), talk about things happening in society, and how all this ties into economics. Take his class!
Prof. Farkas is caring and cares about your success in the course. If you have any concerns make sure you speak with him. The class was pretty straight forward. Pop quizzes that he insist to not stress over, three exams and online labs (MyPearson). My tip is to make sure you do your best on all of the online labs. You'll thank me later ;)
I just finished the 8 week macro online class and it was super easy! Professor Farkas responded to emails very quickly. Hw and quizzes were extremely easy. Test were easy as well. I highly recommend this professor.
I took professor's ECON 2301 last summer and I ended up with an A. We took exams with cheat sheet and extra points as well. Professor is knowledgeable about economics. Every time we start class, he would ask us to think about what news do we learn today and discuss them in the class first, and the information is related to economics. U'll enjoy it.
Great Teacher, gets off topic a lot but is super funny and corny. Easy to talk with loved the class you actually learn if you PAY ATTENTION ( Review from a Wunshe student taking summer courses you should do it )!!!!
NICE!!!
Ok dude but not great at teaching I couldnt tell what was going to be graded or not his style seems like he was trying to get our attention but I couldnt retain. Real hard class.
Reviews after quizzes and makes economics entertaining
He never really taught a thing. Tests were kinda dumb. Dont waste money on a textbook, it wont be needed AT ALL. Pretty easy to pass the class but it was a pain to be there.
If you want a story teller as a teacher, he's your man. But if you are serious about economics, do not take him. All you have to do to pass is learn everything on your own and take the most difficult tests that have nothing to do with what was taught in class! Overall 10/10.
Okay if you are looking for the easiest A or your life, this is your guy, No textbook required, everything is done on D2L unlike these other courses that require mcgraw hill or pearson. 3 discussions, like 10 chapter quizzes, 4 exams, 1 intro duscission and that is the whole class, if you come across his course, TAKE HIM!!! not a stressful course!
TAKE THIS PROFESSOR! Easiest A of my life and not a ton of homework! Everything on D2L. I took this as an 8 week class and it was not like others where you are swamped with assignments every day! I think 4 discussions, 12 quizzes (you get 2 tries per quiz) and 3 exams. and thats all! I RATE 10/10! Thank you Farkas!
He is so funny in person and actually cares about you and your time there. You have chapter quizzes that will be due the Sunday before exams. 3 exams in total where you get to have a cheat sheet front and back. I enjoyed this class so much that I am taking him again next semester!
Fresh attitude and I think he is from Transilvania! Have taken him twice. Strongly recommended.
Mr. Farkas is dope and will teach you everything about the fed, the economy and all that stuff people with money talk about. To make an easy A all you need is half a brain, show up and chill.
I loved his class.
I had professor Farkas for both micro and macro economics both of his classes were super easy. This past semester I took his 8 week micro 12 connect hw, 12 quizes, 5 discussions and 3 tests. The test were a little hard and he didn't give much time but he gave everyone 5 extra pts on all 3. He also dropped the lowest hw and quiz grade.
Professor Farkas was an excellent teacher for both micro and macro. He explained concepts in detail, was amusing, engaged his students, and tried to make sure all his students succeeded. Pop quizzes are a regularity, but he often warns they are coming and they aren't a huge part of the grade. Tests aren't too bad; study and you'll do fine.
Easy class, if you just do the homework and you will do fine.
His lectures made you laugh but understand economics extremely well. He always gives great feedback and helps you whenever you may need it. His grading criteria is easy to understand and the homework is an adequate amount you just have to complete in time. Hes a lenient quiz grader and also curves tests when he believes so.
Took his actual class, and online class. During the lectures, he connects with the class in a way to get you to really understand Economics. Attendance wasn't required, but I really enjoyed my time in class, and benefited from the discussions.
A lot to read Thorough testing Very clear on syllabus Doesn't mind answering questions Explains difficult sections
Took his actual class and transition to the online class. First time online and made it easy for me. Follows the syllabus, guy is hilarious, and caring professor does whatever it takes for a person to understand. 3 exams, quizzes, and with some pop quizzes during class. Would really recommend to take him. Responds to emails quickly as well.
He is a great teacher but the tests are difficult. You have to study hard for his exams. He is always available for extra help.
I took him last summer in person. The course is lecture heavy but he does keep you entertained so it's not so draining but it was information overload for me. He helped me out a lot to pass because I barely made it. Be ready for those pop quizzes. He does give you an incentive to help you on tests!
Easy A, very clear about what needs to be done. You don't have to get a book because he gives you a link to free online access to the textbook. great professor. i would take again 100 times if i could. you should sign up to his class fast because the seats fill up quick.
Professor Farkas is the best I could have asked for in an economics course. His lectures are in-depth and explain the subject fully but also in a very relatable and funny way. He's clearly extremely knowledgeable and cares *A LOT* about the subject. The tests are hard only if you miss lectures because trust me, you wont understand everything alone.
Amazing teacher, and amazing class. Made econ interesting and tolerable while keeping it fun and easy. While there is a textbook it is a free one that the professor provides making it accessible for everyone. The grading technique is clear, and allows you to plan for the future. 10/10 would recommend.
Was supposed to take him in-person but ended up doing webex meetings weekly. Pretty cool guy and always willing to answer questions. Quizzes and exams are easy as long as you understand the material and utilize your best friend (quizlet).
Online version of the class is so easy. Lots of resources. We just had quizzes and test, which were based directly off the book (which is free online).
This class is very easy but the professors lectures are somewhat boring and monotonous, so drink a coffee or something before class. The tests are easy and most of the answers are online so the textbook isnt necessary. If you do want to use the textbook, its free and he gives the link at the beginning of class!
He has very clear grading guidelines. There are quizzes, 3 midterms, and no final. Additionally, we had ample time to complete his assignments.
The class I took was very standard. There are homework (no time limit) and three exams (time limit). Overall, the course is easy, but you may gain helpful knowledge if you are attentive. The book is available for free online access, so you don't need to purchase it.
Literally had stuff due ONLY once a month or every other month. This included 3 quizzes and 1 exam due every other month. This was by far the easiest class I have ever taken. Do not even contemplate it just take it.
Gives extra credit but has tons of quizzes and exams. Mine has 10 quizzes and 3 exams. The professor gives 2 attempts for the Quizzes and 1 attempt for the exams. 20 questions for the quiz, and 75-100 questions for the exam. I got an A, but I don't think I will take the professor's class again. Get ready to read and do the quizzes and exams!
Took this class in the summer, it was a very easy class with 12 quizzes and 3 exams.
I would definitely take her course again.
Expect McGraw assignments + Smartbooks, honestly this teacher was extremely easy, not to mention that the quizzes and tests themselves are just like the homework. So long as you read and take notes then you shouldl be fine. Make sure you understand supply and demand charts as they are vital in Micro.
Very interesting professor. He made sure that he went through all the material, but we often had extra time to discuss current economic topics, such as recovering from Covid-19. I learned a lot about economics both in the US and globally.
Mr. Farkas is a great professor. He is a compassionate, considerate, and generous individual. Always empathetic, understanding, and gentle, he's thoughtful, supportive, and kind-hearted. His patient, friendly, and warm nature makes him honest, gracious, helpful, and respectful. He's encouraging, loyal, optimistic, and trustworthy.
Mr. Farkas is a great professor. He makes his lesson very interesting and useful. I highly recommend taking him. He is very nice and genuine professor, you can tell he loves what he teaches and we need more professors like him. I already signed up for his micro econ class.
Very easy professor. Took him for macro and micro economics and loved his classes both times.
Straightforward online 8-week class: do the reading, 10 chapter quizzes w/ 2 attempts, and 3 exams: no proctor or webcam. Do the reading assignments, & Quizlet is helpful. Would take again! Easy A & class is open to finish at your own pace: free online book, Exams have time limits. This is an independent work class. Thank you, Prof Farkas.
Professor Farkas is a really cool guy, you can tell he is passionate about economics. He is a very caring and understanding professor. If you take notes in the class, you should be fine. I recommend taking this class if you want a good understanding of economics while having a good time.
He's super chill, shares fun facts, keeps it real about life, checks on everyone, says “rip” to random stuff, and laughs at his own board mistakes. Gives ungraded pop quizzes with answers, lets you use notes, and the finals online! Fun, fair, and caring. TAKE HIS CLASSSSS you'll learn and enjoy it!
He's great, just pay attention and participate he's nice and really helpful even outside.
Love ya Farkas, genuinely one of the funniest and greatest professors I have every had.
