Not a very good teacher. Thinks he's funny, but he's not. Not helpful at all in class. Goes off on wild tangents about his days in private sector - which ultimately leads to him forgetting what he was talking about, and the entire class being bored. He likes to hear himself speak. Makes fun of people who ask "dumb" questions.

Prof. Yanaga takes 35 page chapters and condenses them to, depending on the chapter, to 1-2 pages of notes for you, all you are required to do is know how to apply it. So pay attention. Reviews prior to test are extremely helpful. Cares about students success if you care; also very blunt, which is a great characteristic if you can handle it.

Few facts about this professor: lectures are about 5-10 mins of class time ; he has his own way of teaching ; he naps in class; you will need a good partner to learn from; 5 tests and hw on wileyplus. Pros: lots of extra credit and test review is 90% of the test. So make sure to be there on review day . Overall, he does not teach much

Definitely, his rating on this website is underrated. His class is an essay A for sure. I think people rate him too low is because the speed of his speech, but he really makes his tests easy for everyone by giving you almost the same examples of each test. He is great. Even though I don't understand some of his jokes, he is still a good choice!

One of the worst professors I've ever had. I am a lifelong student, so I have had many! The group projects and tests and confusing. We end up spending a lot more time than necessary on projects because we can't understand what to do. If you ask a question, he talks to you like you're an idiot. I'm frustrated.
