Overall, a good teacher. Offers extra credit chapter questions.
He is very helpful and a good teacher but also very boring. Extra credit questions are very helpful. Overall a nice guy and an easy class if you show up.

Gave a 40 page syllabus at the beginning of the class. Didn't care for anything....what you do is your own issue in class...will help only if necessary. Vey fast and demands alot of 3 credits. He had 100 students in the beginning of the class.....at the end..at least 30-35 students left the class including myself and move to another prof.no way

Easy class, confusing teacher
This was the worst class I've ever taken. He changes his mind everyday, forgets what he told the class, is basically confusing, and everyone has a horrible time. Save yourself the grief. He's exaserbating.
WOW! Never maked up his mind about anything, punished his classes for there being a hurricane, gave easy exams, but he didn't make any sense. BEWARE!

He has a terrible personality that is reflected in his way of teaching, grading and the way he behaves. He has a sort of bipolar disorder, like a flow of moods. However, the material is easy if you read the book but not as easy with other professors that may not embarras you in front of your classmates. Bottomline:he is an unpractical teacher. SEIK

Don't take this teacher. I don't know one person in my class of like 150 that likes him. He changes his mind every 5 seconds. Embarasses you in front of the class. Can NEVER be wrong even if he obviously is. Makes an easy class impossible. He is extremly unorganized. You will come to class in a good mood and leave pissed off. AVOID AXE!!!!
From the first day of class he can be very confusing. After he explained the syllabus everyone was asking questions. He's very unclear in what he expects. And he expects waayy too much! I think he has ADD!
Ego trip! I thought I would puke if I heard him talk about how wealthy he was...or how INTEL was doing...or how smart his son is. He insisted that I have learning disability - however, I graduated #4 out of 476 students in HS. I graduated from FAU with a 3.9 and have a very successful career. You do all the work so he can act like an investor!!
Just avoid taking him. But im starting to think its all an act and part of his teaching. Theres uncertainty and he seems very unorganized. I escaped with a B. He offers extra credit so hes not pure evil.
Although he is on an ego trip, he is looking out for the best interest of the class as well. He gives review sheets to help you study and extra credit that really does help your grade. Some might think he's horrible, but he is just straight up with you.
He is the most confused teacher at FAU. As a senior level professor, you would hope that a teacher would have common sense. He is severly lacking in that department.

He's too tough when it comes to team assignments, is not at all flexible, and critizes presentations. Good luck trying to find another MAN 3025 course with him NOT teaching it. Avoid him if you can.

He is the hardest teacher to take for this class. HE goes off on tangents. Givesextra credit that takes far too much time for too little points( about 20-30 minutes per point). He gives you "test questions" during his lectures but those questions never find their way onto his tests. Read the book 2 times and you will pass but each test is on 150pgs
I say take the class most of the people who are talking**** are the ones that are doing bad in class. I personally never really went to class and all i did was read the chapters 8 hours before the test and cram hardcore and i got like 90 on every test. They are very easy in my opinion. Overall its a pretty easy class
Very informative in topics not related to the class. You MUST read the book to pass this class and do the extra credit. Do NOT follow his study guides, they'll barely get you a C. You need to read everything! A lot of tricky questions on exams, you really need to understand the material. Very organized and structured lectures. Grades quick.
Easy but boring course. You don't even have to show up for most classes. His study guides are worth nothing but sample questions that he gives right before the test are really helpful. Just read all of the chapters and do extra credit questions and you'll do fine.
He is not very organized when it comes to going over the chapters and there are tricky questions on test so you should really read and understand the book to the fullest. The tests WILL come from the book.
He gives a lot of work for no points, he cheated me with 32 points in the final, plus you pass this class with a 75 not with a 73. Don't take him, he is too much drama of a teacher
He is a strict professor. He gives lot of work and gives credit. His class is interesting and he knows what he is talking about. I think he is very good. You have to attend the class and read the book to get A.
Not that hard of a class if you do read the book throughly. He does give a ton of extra credit , and doing the homework helps in your overall grade. He was intimidating, one thing I would hate is how much he praised the Florida Gators in class, then talk about what programs FAU offers. I know few people were sick of that nonsense.
Has no respect for his students, constantly cuts you off while you are speaking. He thinks he is always right , changes up his syllabus all the time. Don't take him.
his tests r not that hard if u read the book, if not u will fail the class, he always picks on the examples that the book talks about on each topic in all of his exams, so people think his exams r hard b/c not many people know he would pick on examples. group presentation is stupid, if don't wanna present just do the hard copy, still get 15/20
Dr. Axe goes directly from the book. As long as you just read straight from the book and take the exam, you'll be fine. Also do the extra credit homework cause it helps!

You just need to read the book all test are direcly from book so make sure you read every details of each chapter he gives you
All the negative comments below are true but his tests come straight from the book and he gives a review before the test. He tells you what to focus on in the review. Read the small case studies in the chapter as some test questions come from these. Group project is time consuming, but only worth 5% of your grade. Extra credit adds 4 pts per test.
He is very intelligent and relates a lot of the class content to real life situations that he experienced himself. He was a prior consultant for DuPont and DoD HR Director and there is a lot you can learn from him. Worst instructor ever! he was in the military and act as a freak inside the classroom - treats students disrespectifully - specially foreigners. Presence is mandatory and will use force to make people stay untill after hour despite his worthless class. If no memorization skills, you will fail. Change your grades as he please and is unfair/rude.

Not that great of a Professor thinks he is a really great leader. Perhaps in the military he would be but for a dynamic enviornment he leaves much to be desired. I would not hire him and I am a manager of accounting and information systems have been for years. Test are all abstract not really worth much if you need to learn about management.

Good professor, very demanding of his work. Tests are very bookish, have to read it. Case studies are extensive for the points received. This mans class was hard, impossible, and useless. He turned me off to college. Professors like him were the reason I started to see college as useless and dropped out. He expected you to "interview" executives(as ridiculas as that is as if they have the time) and provide a huge project at the end of the semester. DROP OUT. RUN YOUR OWN BUSINESS.

This guy is crazy. You have to see how passionate he is about attendance. Other than that he's alright. Tests are basically from the PowerPoints. There is a group project that isn't too difficult but its only 10% of your grade. I got a B and most of the stuff is common sense. He does quick reviews but it's not as bad as other people say.

His grading scale is very hard: 95+ for an A, 84+ for a B, etc and no curve. You will not learn anything. Don't take his class. He likes to wear blue loafers. Yeah, that sums it up.
Dr Axe is a very difficult professor. That being said he does offer up to 10 extra credit points per test. The presentation he requires is very difficult and only worth up to 20 points. Oh gosh....what a professor...If you are good at memorizing everything in the book, you will do well in the exams. He loves to tell stories about himself and wonders off the topic very often. His time management skills are very bad, which is a very bad example since this is a management class. I wouldn't recommend this professor to anyone!!!

Painfully obvious that he is unsatisfied with life, and thus compensates by inventing farfetched, insane lies, such as he invented the Axe body-spray; when he was questioned regarding proof of his claim by a student, he merely dismissed him. I liked this guy. Sure I had to study, but I got an A. He's actually an interesting guy. He has great stories, but they don't have to do with class! I made some good friends in the class groups. He let us change our paper 2 months AFTER CLASS ENDED to better our grade. TONS of extra credit!

I have never had to withdrawl from a class but this one I had to! This guy thinks he knows EVERYTHING when he doesn't. He expects you to attend every class so you can get extra credit at the end of the semester BUT he misses class... and hires a substitute! HORRIBLE.

I really like and enjoyed this professor. He is very unconventional and does things differently than any professor I've ever had. I learned a lot from his class. I took this class in the summer. You definitely need to get the book since you will be tested on each chapter. Dr. Axe cares about his student is always willing to help. He also give you opportunity for extra credit. Very good professor you will really learn with him. If you don't like to read don't take this class.
READ THE BOOK- ALL OF EACH CHAPTER- questions will be random sentences found within the textbook- to get a good grade. Put in a lot of effort and felt as though a B-was insufficient as to my work efforts. Asked to meet with him upon seeing my final grade and he said to contact him when the Fall semester started. You need a 95 percent to get an A in this class. 95?! I had a 93 and got an A-. This is absolutely ridiculous. He tests straight from the book, does not give a helpful review, and will refuse to answer any questions regarding the tests. If you feel like failing an easy class, take it with Axe.
Introduction to organization and management class, make sure you study in groups, memorize your outlines with detail examples that are not in the book, do the homework and extra credit, then good luck picking out the **** in his tricky questions.
Not easy, but an A is possible with way more time than it should take. Studying overtime for tests won't help, as questions are tricky, but do all HW and extra credit and it could put you over. Guy is old school, but go to class, listen, and you just might learn something.
Im in my 4th year of college and he is honestly the worst teacher i have had. He says that he offers extra credit, but half the time he doesnt give it to you. His "questions" on the test are never there, and he has messed up the scantrons multiple times. Do not take him even if you think you can pass. Worst teacher by far.
Dr. Barry Axe was more concerned about his INTEL stock than class. His mood was based on the market. He bragged repeatedly about his personal success, his college and "famous" friends. He used student research for his own personal investments and his "consulting" business.
He is all over the place I am taking him over summer and he gives assignments that never get collected or he asks for ones he never assigned. He couldn't separate our class into groups of 4 students. Take someone else I am looking at Fall 11 and his classes are 30% full while the other professors are 100%. Hear the warnings.
Axe is old school. A rarity these days. He demands the attention of his students, which can be conflicting in this laptops-in-class age. Tests straight outta the book and you gotta know the material. He gets a lil squirrely at times but is more than accomodating during his office hours.

AXE!!!! Yes, it is all true. Barry Axe is the man with no plan. I loved Axe's class due to the constant fights, yelling at students, various personal plugs, etc. Seriously no need to go to Axe's class. He makes it seem like a big deal, but its not worth it. I found his class very interesting and informative. Pervious to registering for the class I had taken absoloutely no business classes and ended up loving the concepts. He is a bit scattered, but the class was once a week late at night for 4 hrs, most profs can not hold the attention of the class. He did a great job! Must read the text and study
Very easy class that is made very difficult due to his lack of clarity. Exams kinda reflect the book, but it's based on HIS interpretation of that which is left field from what the book actually says. Found it difficult to study for this class. DO NOT RECOMMEND.
Honestly, I had a blast in this class, so many memories of the profs remarks, His a character...all over the place but sooo entertaining There was never a dull moment..I was always laughing, what can I say? You wont be bored.

The professor is very disorganized, teaching a 200 plus class is not his game. He does give easy extra points;always have your homework ready. The test is always hard, doesn't matter if you are in class and read the book. For the presentation be in sync with him so you can max your points.
This guy does NOT understand that this is an INTRO to management course, not the BAR EXAM. His exams are not from the major points, definitions, or ideas in the book...they are from random sentences in sidenotes, articles, and useless facts hidden within the text. You will not learn anything about management, and you'll get a C... if you're lucky.

If you can take another prof for MAN 3025 do so. His class is really challenging and he's rather obscure about the general aspect of management. He gets off topic easily, and gets distracted. His tests are HARD. He seems very and arrogant, but when you stop by his office he's actually really nice and willing to help you out, depending on his mood.
I found this class to be quite interesting. I had some difficulty, however, I did do all of the extra credit which helped. Time consuming. The professor is wise and experienced but has trouble communicating with his students in class. If you meet him during office hours he will help you. You will learn a lot so be ready! Read the Text and notes :)
I would recommend Dr. Axe! He is very wise and cares about his student's success in class and in life. Do the multiple choice sample quizzes on blackboard(most are on exams)and make sure you read the chapter before each class and do the practice questions from end of each chapter (typed) then bring it to class everyday! Easy if you try!

While the summer class is quite difficult, the teacher gives a solid test review sheet and tells you what essays he will cover. The professor is brilliant, but the class requires an exorbitant amount of time! Expect to read all 700 pages of the text in six weeks,take three exams and submit a 20 page paper with presentation. Avoid if you're lazy.

I enjoyed Axe's class. Yes, he can go off on tangent's but is good teacher. I urge you to GO TO HIS OFFICE!! He will respect you more when you challenge him on his test questions - he gave me the points when i proved him wrong. If all else fails mention a Wall Street Journal Article when in his office. I got an A - hard earned though!
Do not take Dr. Axe! He's very rude to students, belittling, interruptive during presentations, and has no computer skills. He wants fewer students in his classes because he likes them smaller. He makes the material harder by wording the questions on the exams in a weird way. I do not recommend him!
Read each chapter twice... or 3 times if you need. Everything in the test comes from the book, but you really have to remember each term/idea distinctly or you will have confusion. He's passable. He comes off rude in class, tho at times I felt sorry for him. He's more normal during office hours.
He knows his subject matter and gave us real world examples, encouraged reading the WSJ and opened my eyes to quality journalism. Gave us real world examples. Gave us extra credit opportunity and also group project wasn't bad. Students were disrespectful and he doesn't play. He's a good professor, tests are challenging but not impossible to pass.
GO TO OFFICE HOURS!He seems like a rude guy at times in lecture, but he actually is nice and helpful when you go talk to him. He gives questions that will be on the test during lecture so sit in the front and RECORD with your phone! Read the textbook, exam is exactly from the book!
If you want to sit through a whole semester being treated like you are in Kindergarten then this is the professor. He spends more time asking if you know what page something is on than actually teaching! His final is also worth more than 50% of your grade. He is beyond frustrating when it comes to his lectures, good luck if you HAVE to take him...
I don't know what the fuss is over Axe. He could be quite annoying at times and overly egotistical, however, I found him to be honest and straightforward. He is old school and discipline is one of his main principles. He often went off topic but he isn't as bad as people say. I find him to be pretty funny sometimes.
I must say this has been the most entertaining class I've taken at FAU so far! He will capture you attention every class. I felt like most his lectures were irrevelant from the test, but I did learn a lot of things in general that I will remember for the rest of my life. To pass you MUST go to his office for more clarification and READ THE BOOK!

This professor is not as bad as everybody makes him out to be. Read the textbook, do the extra credit, and attend the lectures and you will be fine. He gives you many real world examples and life lessons that you will take away from this class. He may come off as a bit rude at first, but just don't be an idiot in his class and you will be fine!
One of the best professors ever.If you want real life experienced professor, Mr Axe is the one. Must read book, test are not that hard but must study well. Gives additional changes for extra-credit which can bump up your grade. Learned a lot, he cares.
Honestly the worst professor I've had. He barely even goes over the material in class which makes it very difficult for people that don't learn well by just reading text to actually learn the material. Currently trying to study for an exam and I'm hoping that the resources on blackboard help me pass this exam since its the only way I can stay in.
Attendance is manadatory but worthless. He spends most of the time complaining rather than actually teaching. He is the worst professor I have ever had! Talks the entire time through the exam. He says he teaches real world experiences not even remotely true! If I could any advice to him is to shut up, quit complaing, and TEACH PLEASE!!!!

Worst professor ever at FAU! DO NOT TAKE HIM!!!! Takes the whole class time talking about how great he is and how successful he is but goes over nothing thats on the exam! Exams are impossible and group work is stupid.

I thought I could handle his class despite the terrible reviews, I was wrong. I am a straight A student and I have never felt so dumb. I would read the chapters 3 times before each test and still bearly pass. I was the only person in my row to pass the class, do NOT take him! He is degrading, rude, and completely unorganized.
If you like to punch yourself in the balls then register for Axes class, clearly you like to make bad decisions.

My only advice to anyone considering this man is to run. I went through Broward College, graduated with a 3.7 GPA and never failed a class until I met Barry Axe. I believe he is disrespectful and only doing this so he can throw all his accomplishments in our faces. He seriously needs to retire.
His group project is a waste of time. Of the 520 points offered for the class, 20 come the project and that is what he spends the most time on. Read the book. It will do you more good than going to class.

Listen to the reviews, they're all valid and trustworthy. Unless you absolutely must take this class, I would strongly advise against it. Not much learning and the professor contradicts himself frequently. Ironically, disorganized for a management class on organization. Can never be wrong and quite close minded. Comes off mean in class but he is very nice during office hours. this was a tough class since it is ALOT of reading and grasping the material. provides study materials online and his Teachers Assistant - Patricia - is lovely. He will explain whatever if asked. For the group project, attendance is mandatory if you want extra credit. Pay attention.
Tough and rude. Tests are difficult, states tests questions in class before the actual exam but they aren't really on the exam.
He makes you buy an access code that wont b used much. Very disorganized, HE IS ALL OVER THE PLACE. Group project is required. He's rude. He freaks out if u leave the class with ur backpack. Take someone else.
He gives life lessons in the beginning of class but they have nothing to do with the chapter. These life lessons are valuable but they can take up 30 minutes to an hour and then he rushes through the material. He loves to walk around the lecture hall of 250 and call out whoever is not paying attention then say "that's why you're going to fail."
He rarely actually teaches. Group project presentations every class. Exams are EXTREMELY difficult and CONFUSING! Exams are super indepth and you must study very hard to get lucky and get a passing grade. Exam study guide is almost useless as it is broad. One of the best professors I have ever had. He is very passionate and knowledgeable about the subjects he teaches, as it comes from experience. If you come to class, pay attention, read the chapters beforehand, and follow along with the review guidelines he hands out for all exams, its an easy A. Don't be a lazy slacker :)
his lectures are terrible. he doesn't hear what's going on in the classroom. he talks about the topic, but he doesn't teach it. he gives examples that are marginally helpful. most of the class doesn't like him. mostly he just talks about his stocks. he beats around the bush without hitting the nail on the head
He comes off strong at first to get his students to put in the effort. Great class with examples of real world businesses. Do the reading, show up to class, and speak with him if you need help. You'll do fine. He loves what he does and is well-informed. 1 group presentation, 10 extra points if you present. Plenty more extra credit chances. 4/5 rate
Take this class with any other professor. He does not teach the material, and lectures consists of irrelevant stories, group presentations, q&a on material, and guest speakers. Tests are straight from the book (memorization rather than understanding general concepts). The TA Pat is the only reason I passed. Irony: Most disorganized Prof.
He is probably the toughest professor in the Management department of FAU, whatever you do DON'T TAKE HIM, I'll have you warned. He interrupts your group presentations and he disrespected/embarrassed me in class for asking him to repeat something. Tests are tough and he gives little extra credit points. I'll say it again, DON'T TAKE HIM!!!
This is by far the worst class I have ever taken . If it wasn't for tenure, I'm sure he wouldn't be on FAU'S payroll. Do yourself a favor and DO NOT take his class. He assigned an extra credit project due at the final. My group did it, and he didn't give anyone credit and disputed that he ever gave it out in the first place.
Hands down my favorite professor this semester and prob top 5 all time. His lectures are great, held my attention the entire class, and engages students. He's a Vietnam vet and def a little old school, but I LOVE this guy. Tests are kinda difficult but he gives great study guides and covers everything in class. HIGHLY RECOMMEND.
Dr. Axe is one of the most knowledgeable and intelligent professors at FAU. After taking his MAN 3025 class I feel like my degree is worth more. He's an excellent teacher and he gives you every reason to succeed, show up to class and he gives reviews and questions from each of the tests. You have to earn your grade!

I never write comments about professors but this one was worth it. The most horrible professor I even took. he doesn't teach you he doesn't care about his students. And he is THE ONLY PROFESSOR in entire university teaching this subject... I am kinda dissapointed that FAU cannot afford a better professor, or at least the one who would do his job.

When it comes to the exams, you must understand the material very well. The questions can be pretty specific. He gives a good amount of extra credit like doing the HW but that takes time to do and an event or two as well. Go to each class to get extra credit at the end. You will have to present a company so don't have stage fright.
Axe is the worst you can get. He is not even rational to begin with. He often conflict himself or lies. It is one or the other. Do not take. You have been warned.
First off I want to say i didnt pass the class but that's because of me didnt put in the work. Prof. Axe is a great teacher, the class can be hard but you have to read the material before hand, if you wait till the test, you wont pass. He does give opportunity for extra credit, but the grade are from the 4 test. And the testes are challenging.
So many negative things to say about this professor and not so many positives. He is RUDE, UNORGANIZED, and definitely does not stick to his word. He makes a great deal about extra credit, & at the end of the day he does not apply it to you. However, despite how horrible he is, if you take it up on yourself to study, you'll pass the class.
As a business manager who has been in the field for over 12 years I can say I was titillated to say the least. If you can't make it in this class, you can't make it as ANY management job, EVER!
Probably one of the worst professors I've taken at FAU. He says one thing and then contradicts himself in the very next sentence. I wouldn't recommend him to anyone.
After going to the first few classes, I just got aggravated and only showed up for exam days. Dr. Axe is not only disorganized and hard to follow, but he also talks to students like they're unruly 12 year olds. He omitted key instructions for assignments or changed his requirements on a whim. Don't take this class in person.
WOW! This is the most tough professor i've ever had. He is an ex-veteran and does not mess around. His tests are very difficult! You must read every page of the book and remember everything. The good thing is he sometimes curves because the test grades come out so low. He does offer extra credit .which helps!
How FAU continues to allow this professor to teach is beyond me. His grading is a moving target. When his teaching is so poor that the majority does poorly on a test, students with low grades get more of a curve than those who did their work. On the group project, student(s) who do their work get same grade as those who didn't. AVOID this prof!
His tests consist of the most specific, irrelevant facts from the textbook that he could find. Most of the time , his answers to the exams are wrong, so even if you know the correct answer, you are not going to get the points. This comes from a straight A student. Avoid at any cost!
It's actually hilarious how awful this prof is. I recommend taking this class if you don't care about your GPA, and you would like to observe someone "teaching" others, who has such a skewed and honestly cringe view on school and life in general.
