AMAZING class, AMAZING professor... hes hyterical and my class and the whole class got A's! Hes AWESOME!

FUN professor, GREAT class, EASY A, no text book!!

I was afraid to take this class but it turned out to be lots of fun.

Wow, things must have changed since I took him. I got an A, and maybe one other person in the class did. Everyone else got B and B+. Great guy, great prof. He is interesting and he is clear and thorough regarding his expectations.

One of the best prof. @ Farmingdale, everyone in my class got A's,which wasnt exactly fair,but whatever.No text book and no assignments either! He is so funny.He makes you feel comfortable in the class and he is so liberal with everything even absences!

hah i was scared to take this class but im glad its over...this is the guy you want to take for this class and take it during the summer...you basicly have to make a fool of yourself and talk about stuff to get a grade ok prof but bad class in general

He is a nice teacher. Very funny and keeps you interested in the material being taught. Overall he is an excellent teacher.

He is an awesome teacher. I recommend him to any student who has to take English 102. He is funny, interesting and smart. He is also very fair with due dates for papers. Ask him to bring pictures of himself from when he was younger..He was soo cute!!!

Best Professor I have had so far in college and i'm a sophmore. Very funny if you like his sarcasm. Is a very lenient guy, and is preatty cool.

After dropping Public Speaking 3 times, I finally needed to take it for graduation. He was the only professor who helped me with the public speaking and made it less terrifying for me. You could talk to him about anything and his sense of humor is refreshing. Definitly recommended.

Dr. Capella is a really good teacher. He is a little odd but always explains all of the stories and poems very well so it makes it easy to write an essay on it. The only hw is to read the essays and poems only one at home essay which he gives you the whole semester to do. It was an easy class.

I never wanted to take public speaking but he actually made it easy. I never would have thought i would have done well but i got an A and i wasnt as nervous as i thought it would be. He helps you through it.

This professor made public speaking a breeze. I was really nervous before taking this class but this professor helped me overcome all the pressure.

amazing professor! he's a lot of fun and always has interesting things to talk about. very leniant and respects all of his students- if you aren't ready to do your speech he will let you go the next class. Dr. Capella is an awesome teacher. I took Romantic arts and Lit with him, and loved it. Assignments are easy, and he allows revisons. Loved him so much that I am taking public speaking with him this up comming semester.

He makes speaking easy and fun to do. I am very shy but with Dr. Capella as a professor it was a lot easier to perform speeches.

love him! public speaking is not easy for everyone- not for me. but he understood this and cared more about making you more comfortable speaking rather than what you were saying. he builds your self confidence and teaches you a lot without being anal about everything.

He's really an awesome and funny guy. I was totally dreading the idea of taking public speaking, but with Dr. Capella, its so easy. He makes you less nervous and he is one of the funniest teachers I have ever had. I am also taking Romantic Arts (English 269W) which is also taught by him.

I never rate professors but Dr. Capella deserves it. He is a great professor and I would advise everyone to try and get into one of his classes. He is smart, funny, and loves a good conversation. I wish he taught more classes so I could have him again. I cant say anything negative about him.

I had him for Public Speaking, we didn't need a text book. He doesn't take attendance either but its nice to support other students who have to speak. He never has anything bad to say about a speaker, it really boosts self confidence. It was such an amazing class with a positive attitude. Definitely take him for Public Speaking.

Love love love this professor. Taking him now for ENG 102 and going to take one of his classes next semester for an arts credit. Class is super easy and he's really funny and keeps class on its feet and interesting. No tests just gotta read and write a few essays. Take this class. You will not regret it.

He is one of the nicest, most understanding teachers i have ever had. He makes you unafraid of talking in front of class and is truly an eccentric guy.A little strange at first but you will get used to it.

When I read all the reviews on RMP I read all positive ones. The first day of class was great. We did nothing but talk and had little conversations about how to approach our presentations which include an informative, persuasive, and demonstrative speech. He is a very swell guy. Don't miss out on this great professor! Highly recommended!

Best professor ever! Easy A! Took attendance first 2 weeks then never again! 2 papers that were 3 pgs and 2 pgs then 1 oral presentation that was optional. We watched operas nd plays everyday. I went to class about 6 times did the papers and no presentation and still got an A!

I took his class over the Summer at Nassau Community and he was a great professor. I was dreading taking this course but he made i very interesting and enjoyable. Totally recommend him!!!!

I'm antisocial, and have trouble speaking to new people. In this class, I had no problem. He's so funny, and has many interesting stories. If you can take a class with him, do it. You won't regret it.

took Capella for public speaking, english 102, & egl201. first lets just say im the worst public speaker ever but he was a great guy and made it as easy as possible. Fair grader, wants the best for everyone. VERY DIFFERENT guy but THE BEST! I truly will miss him. It sucks saying goodbye. You will be lucky to have a professor like him.

Took Capella for Eng102,Public Speaking, & Eng 201! Amazing professor, different, but in a good way. You will never meet anyone like him. He cares for his students and has a passion for his job, easy to fair grader. U have to try to fail his class literally... For anyone afraid of Public Speaking i promise hes your best bet.

Taking him for 102. Don't care what grade I get--he's the BEST. I feel I have grown personally and academically because of his class.

Best professor. You have to give four speeches for this class, you can use power point. Just as long as you put effort in, this class will be an easy A. He makes the class room such a great environment. I used to have bad social anxiety, but that class broke the ice. I can now publicly speak in my other classes without hesitation or anxiety.

This man is incredibly kind and passionate about human interaction. Show him common courtesy, like being polite and mature and he will be a professor you look forward to seeing each day. The syllabus seems like a ton of work but it is not. Two writing assignments and a short presentation of your ideas, with plenty of time and few restrictions.

Good professor! Took him for film&lit. Was not strict at all, as long as you respected him and come to class on time. Only made us write two papers (which was our take home midterm and final), and our grade was based on that. He's a very fair grader, I'm horrible at paper writing and I passed this class with an A-. He has a good sense of humor too!

Dr. Capella is one of the most wonderful professors I've had at this school. His speech is inspirational and he looks for ways to make the content interesting to the class. He is also an easy grader (if you are looking for that). He is very accomplished academically so he related the readings to other works of literature. Take him!

An amazing person and professor. He is so passionate, intelligent, and accommodating. Being in his class was always my favorite part of the day. We only had two papers, despite it being a writing intensive course. The class itself was so fun; we just read poetry, listened to music, and analyzed art and then discussed it all. Definitely take him!!

I took an English class with Dr. Capella at Nassau, and he was the absolute best. I loved his assignments and I did not feel stressed in the class at all. I had to be at his classes at 6:30 in the morning but it was definitely worth it. I would recommend you take his class! It's a guaranteed pass.

Dr. Capella is a great professor! I never thought I'd be intersted in supernatural film and literature but his course made it very enjoyable. He is loves having involved class discussion which could either help or harm you. If you do your reading and bring your opinioninterpretation of the literature to class, you will do just fine.

Barely gives work except for a super open-ended and short paper. Hilarious and super kind, you spend the entire lectures reading poetry and even watching some videos and looking at paintings online. He is a professor I would love to have tenfold!

I NEVER rate professors but I had to take the time to rate Dr. Capella! He was so enthusiastic about everything he taught. He is a man that is full of life, and it was such a pleasure to see a professor who truly and genuinely loves what he does. A's weren't necessarily easy, but if you did the work and showed excitement, he rewarded you. LOVE!!

I had him for public speaking and If you need to take that class I would reccommend taking it with him. He knows the most random facts in the world but is super intelligent I think he is one of the best professors at Farmingdale. Super understanding and the work load isn't too heavy. Keep your speeches interesting and youll do fine!

Dr. Capella is a very smart professor. He is also excellent at helping his students if there is any questions, comments, or concerns about your work. The only problem for me was taking his class at 6:30AM. If you participate in the work that he gives you, show up to class, and do all of the homework, you will pass his class. Well respected by all!

I took Dr. Capella for Intersession and is helpful to the students. Always helps you prepare before presenting a Speech. Focuses on topics that are talked about in the everyday world that students are intrigued about. Just one thing, participate in the Speech, even when you are not the one giving the presentation.

He was an amazing professor. He made the class very interesting and Loved to share personal stories especially about animals and traveling. Public speaking the class itself may be overwhelming but he made it a judge free zone and gave back excellent feed back. If you ever have to take public speaking, make sure you get him. You MUST read the articles he gives to do the assignments. He's a VERY VERY nice teacher who really cares about his students, and only wants the best for them.

One of my favorite professors I've had yet. He truly cares for his students and wants to see them all do well. His lectures were always interesting, as he's very humorous and shares a lot of personal stories. The workload for this course wasn't anything crazy, & as long as you attend class and do the readings, you'll enjoy the course
