Tough teacher, but very structured class, he makes it easy to get an A or B if you follow the outline and do the homework readings. Can be a real dick to the students who dont understand or dont care about class.

Very business-like but fair. Tells you exactly what you need to do to do well. Gives lots of short quizes and papers, and then drops lowest quiz or two. Has lots of solid real world experience that he often shares with students.

Good teacher. He has alot of real world experience which keeps it interesting. If you read the book, go to class, and do the papers you can't go wrong with this calss.

I actually learned in this class, yes he does give a short quiz every day but you will ace all of themif you just read the chapter, the quizes are not hard at all. Good real life lessons taught. I recommend his class, it is not that hard at all.

i took both int. makg and itro to makg with this professor. he was very helpful, and sparkewd my intrest in marketing. if you read the book, the quizes are really easy. i reccomend him to the fullest

He's an ****, but he's a teacher that you'll learn from...He's loaded outta his **** w/ cash... teaches for fun...and is a DR. but u learn alot....I like him and think he's funny at times.

He is def hard on his students but once you get used to him you will realize he really is a great prof. if you read before the class n take notes, you only have to add a lil during the class. after having him for intro to bus, i took marketing w him too. hes tough but def a good prof :)

This class made me interested in the field of Business.It was not particularly hard if you just read the assignments.He is very intelleginet and has been very sucessfull in the business field himself.Not for everyone though..(especially if your looking for an easy A)

I agree with the fact that he was a hard professor, but he taught in a way that made you want to work harder. and all you had to do was read and take notes before the class and you were set and during class only add a few things plus that got u prepared for his quizzes

Professor Freeman definitly knows his material, and gives real world perspective on marketing. Challenges students to think! Hes tough but definitly one of best Professors at Bergen.

Since he worked at companies like Lipton and Best Foods, he really knows his stuff. I'd take him again.

Prof. Freeman is a good, funny teacher. He let's you drop one exam out of four and 2 quizzes out of 7. If you pay attention in class and read the book at home, you can learn a lot about personal finance and do well in this class.

In one way this guy is tough. He give lots of stuff to do. But another way, you've got lots of chances if you miss something or screw up. He's been at Lipton and Best Foods for 20 years before he became a Prof., so he really seems to know what he's talking about. He really real. No nonsense.

I got an A in his marketing course & really liked it. Having 8 short quizzes, each on just 1 chapter gave me a chance to really learn this stuff. He's got real world experience in marketing and shares it with the class. Not an easy course, but I learned a lot. He is serious sometimes, but also a jokester other times. He's a real guy.

He's cool. Was out on leave for a yr but is now back at BCC. Tough but fair. If you study, you'll do fine. If not, your in trouble. Really knows his stuff cause he worked as a Marketing Exec at Lipton & Best Foods for 20 yrs before BCC. He also teaches Personal Finance which I'm now taking. That's even cooler. He is an active investor.

Not as bad as some comments suggest. Covers ALOT of material. Just make sure that you put aside a few hours to read AND take notes on each chapter, then of course study. It will make the class unbelievably easier. There is a hint of arrogance in him but the guy is kind of funny and really knows his stuff.

He is an active investor in everything. REALLY nows his stuff. I learned so much. He goes online in class and shows how to buy mutual funds and individual stocks. You get our own Credit Report an analyze it. This is good stuff. Grade is only tough if you do not do the work. Drops 1 of 4 exams and 2 of 8 quizzes. Go for it!

Everybody should take this course! I swear I now know how to get my finances back in shape, and how to make investments that will work. They guy does this stuff all the time. I learned real stuff in his class. He can get tough, but if you prepare you will do fine.

I swear I now understand Personal Finance. We learned about stocks, bonds, mutual funds -- everything including credit cards, housing & saving. He traded real stock online in class. Really cool. Gives 8 quizzes and 4 exams, so you have lots of chances. He also teaches Marketing. I'm taking that next.

I never thought understanding personal investing and finance could be this easy to understand. I really got into it. Freeman invests all the time and shares his experiences with the class when he writes comments. I wish I had it in a live class, but this was OK too.

Freeman's Marketing Course is great. Complainers about quizzes are just lazy bums. Every quiz date is printed in his detailed outline. Each quiz is 7 basic multiple choice questions. Dr. Freeman is an excellent professor- intelligent, affable, and very clear. He gives you many opportunities to earn good grades throughout the semester via quizzes, tests, and participation. I'm leaving his class with a broader knowledge of not just marketing, but the business world as a whole. I would absolutely take a class of his again!

Barry Freeman is professional. It is EASY to ace his course do NOT listen to the negative ratings. Just read the chapters before class and concentrate!! The book is VERY VERY easy to understand. He is fair! I learned more in his class than any other class I ever took and I would take him again. Good luck guys, you can do it. Respect him.

First I took his Marketing Course, BUS-201. Then I had to take his Personal Finance. He was a Marketing Director at Lipton & Unilever for 20+ years, so he really knows marketing. He has done it all. But I think he likes teaching Personal Finance even more. He is a big time investor. He makes students work, but I learned so much. Go for it!!

IDK what to say about him. I understand his class material and have done well on most assignments, but he is just so rude to me. I try to ask questions and he ignores me. I mean what kind of a professor does that? He should respect everybody and not just choose students to be respectful and then choose ones to be disrespecful too. Get checkmarks.

Where do I begin? The class itself was remarkable in so many ways and an amazing experience. But it was not just the class itself. Professor Dr. Barry Freeman leads by example and demands excellence. Prof. Freeman teaches passionately about marketing, using his experience to enhance powerpoint presentations, which can be boring. Material covered in class is directly from the book, but you need the book. Quizzes are before lectures, but aren't hard if you read thoroughly and take notes. Professor is strict because he wants you to learn.

He is very reasonable in his demands on students. The work was sometimes difficult, but not overwhelming. If you do your work and stay on top of due dates, you should do well in his class. He was helpful and quick to respond to all of my questions and concerns. As long as you're a good student, you'll do fine, and I would recommend him.

I had mixed views about him, but mostly good! He has an extensive background in Marketing and knew what he was talking about. His powerpoints are best to study from for tests. Take reading notes when you read the book. If you follow his advice and directions, you will do great! I thought in the end he was really interesting and knowledgeable.

Awesome professor. If you're open minded and willing to work for your grade you will have no problem. BUS201 online requires a lot of reading and note taking. The weekly tests are challenging, but as long as you take in the material you will be fine. He gives awesome feedback. If you want to pass you HAVE to do the work and try in the course.

If you want to pass you must do a lot of reading. There are 8 quizzes (2 you can drop), 4 tests (1 you can drop), and 2 projects. You will not pass the quizzes and tests if you do not read. This class should be required for all college students to take. I learned a lot, the professor has a lot of experience in the working world.

Pr. Freeman is a great teacher. I learned a lot from his class. I would recommend to take this class with this professor to everyone. He has a great sense of humor. But some students got upset with him.

One of the greatest Professor's I've ever learned from. Really know his stuff from experience, everything you learn will help you in life so listen close. If you don't have tough skin don't take this class, he speaks his mind and jokes around at your expense but all in good fun. You will read the entire book, but it has such great information.

he makes you earn your grade by reading the textbook, the students that complain about him are lazy and the students that appreciate him don't mind working for their grade and actually learning the material. you teach yourself the book and he answers any questions you may have and briefly goes over the chapters. he is an INSTRUCTOR not a TUTOR

Dr. Freeman's class adeptly prepares you for a future in a professional work setting. He helps student learn to conduct themselves in a professional manner, whether it be in proper formatting of assignments, preparation for exams and even email etiquette. He wants what's best for your future, and hopefully you'll realize that after, too.

He's a very blunt and direct man so be prepared for bad jokes and awkward moments. He gives very thorough instructions and that should be enough to pass the class. Online exams are literally from the book, reading through the chapter once was enough for me.

I had prof. freeman last semester. I just happened to see his past reviews. I think several "bad" comments are way over done. OK, he does require students to come prepared, and he is not an easy grader like some other profs. But I did my work, I learned a lot, and I good a good grade. Oh, his jokes can be tough but they are cool. Go for it!!

I remember taking Dr. Freeman when I was at BCC. At first he didn't seem to have respect for me. However, I changed my study habits and he became aware. Once he saw how serious I was he started to respect me more. He tries his best to tie the concepts into his professional experience. If he sees you put in effort, he may reward you in the end.

His course outline was so clear that I knew exactly what was due for every class. He gives lots of announced quizzes and 4 exams. You MUST read and prepare. If you do, you will do very well. I liked his many stories about the real investments he has made. He showed us part of his brokerage acct. online & how to select mutual funds. Really cool

Doc Freeman is not the typical prof. He is serious, experienced and really knows his stuff. He worked as a Marketing Director in several big corps. for 25 years before he became a full-time college professor. So, he is business like. Take this course and you will get a real feel for what the business world is really like. I'm happy I took it.

2 Projects and a test every week aren't very difficult if you actually read and study. Participation in forums is important but he always gave helpful feedback if you had any questions or concerns. He genuienly cares to see students succeed in and out of the classroom. My ending grade was an 89 but he gave me the extra point to have an A.

Professor Freeman is the best professor I have had during my time at Bergen. He is passionate about marketing and has real life corporate experience to back it up. Professor Freeman is strict and direct, but a more than generous grader if you show that you are trying your hardest. He prepares you for life after Bergen, which is rare here at Bergen.
