i dunno what's previous poster rant, anyhow this teacher is the best. It's really hard to fail with this guy. If you wanna have an easy course, go for Kaufman!

Nice guy. If you ask for extra help he might get a little off topic. Helps you IMENSELY for the final, from what I know no other prof will. I heard the others arent that good. If you take 210 definetly take his section...Whatever the time.

Great guy. Took the class from 20:15 to 23:00 on a wednesday. Kept me awake the whole class.

awsome teacher. Doesnt relaly teach whats in the book. Doesnt give a good idea of how he marks (whcih is pretty hard). So dont be decieved- study your ass off for the first exam and essay- then you can slackoff a bit. the avergae in our calss was 70.

Took his course as my engr elective.It's nice & light if u r willing to put a few hours in to memorize the select few things which are deemed important.Colorful vocabulary and a Seinfeld-like itch to be a stand up comic and you've got a great night course

look i give him props for taking a really boring course like OB ( also known as Orgnanizational ****>> from prof jay Mannadiar..haha)and making it really fun. very tough grader but at least he will keep yuu awake and teach yu stuff from the real world!!!

His classes are short, he mostly talks about annecdotes and goes quickly through reading material. He says the essential stuff you need to know for the exams. If you want a good grade, just do what you need to do(do summaries of what you read!) He answers questions, but talks a lot! He also gives 10 point for participation. Overall, he's cool!

He works hard at keeping the class awake and interested. Come prepared and you'll do well.

Generally good teacher; always funny, but still appropriate. This class involves a lot of theory but he manages to make it actually quite interesting ans entertaining! I would definitly recommend him!

Mr. Kaufman appreciates diversity and he even allowed non-english speakers to use eletronic dictionaries during the final exams.He also told us in class he wouldnot penalize for grammar mistakes for exam.And the professor is not the one to blame if your english is terrible and you cannot make yourself understandable.

He is a nice guy. Sometimes he gets off track. The class itself involves a lot of reading. If you get a chance, you should take him. He is "cooler" than most teachers!!!

I barely studied and took 0 notes in class and I got a B. If you fail one of his classes you really deserve it! Barry will tell you exactly what you need to know and he will not cram you with useless stuff that won?t even be covered in the final. he's definitely cocky, and i have no doubt he'd make a super successful stand-up comedian. But he makes the class interesting and keeps ur attention. Didnt study for this course much and ended up with a B+ mainly because he told us exactly wut to study for the exam. He's not an easy grader. My advice: u want a good grade, when u make a claim u have

laid back teacher...its an easy grade, impossible to fail.

I have never had more fun. I usually never attend all classes but never missed one of his. Does not overload students and gives them the information required in a very interesting way.

Overall he is a good prof. Make sure your answers for exams and assignments are EXACTLY what he wants because he will know if it is BS. Understanding the articles are vital for this course.

English is my Second Language,but I do not face that much difficulty in his class.He does not cut marks for grammar.He will guide you for the final.In the first class you will think to change the section and take other prof.I will recommend not to do this.He is better than the other teachers.Trust me!!This course contains a lots of reading.

What's with with low ratings??!! This guy rocks. Classes are fun, I had him at 8-10:30pm and I ended up going to all of them, except one! His classes lasted for 45-60minutes only and he covers everything! I wish I could have another class with him.

If you're expecting to get a good grade with hard work, don't both. It's hard to please him even if you work hard. Hard marker, His lecture style is clear and informative but marking wise, it's not worth the effort of spending hours on the paper because you'll end up with a low mark anyways.

This professor is awesome..The only con is that his grading is a bit difficult, however he gives you so many hints, makes class inetersting and gets you prepared and is incredibly interesting! Highly Recommended!

HE IS HOT. I never missed a class. He guides you a lot. As for marking he is fair. His class is fun, never boring. I think Concordia should hire some new bloods like him with new view not a 100,000 years old. gave us 10% attendance take advantage of it...

People who give this teacher bad reviews should blame themselves for getting a bad grade and not the teacher. If you want to achieve an A take this teacher HE REALLY IS THE BEST! He will give you so many hints for the exams which will make them absolutely impossible to fail. MEMORIZE the claims word by word and UNDERSTAND THEM! Use his slides.

In regards to the 2 previous comments (July 1st & June 16th): I agree with the fact that he truly is the best! The group project was hard but it's only worth 20% since 10% was for the 2 progress reports which are impossible to screw up. Even with a 60 on the project I stilled managed to get an A!

The progress reports were worth 10% and they were impossible to screw up.. and as for the exams the teacher gave us every single hint possible to help us ace those exams! those who did poorly did not attend class or did not listen to the teacher.

If you want to relax and not think too much, just listen to a teacher speak and make you laugh he's the guy! If you want to have a little bit of "breathing time". Anything else, he's useless. Doesnt explain much except for exam prep.

Awesome prof. Talks a lot about himself & his family though is repetitive with his anecdotes. Encourages interaction from students, accepts any comments, really laid back. Tells you exactly what to study for the final, wants everyone to pass.

Good teacher. His class were fun. He let's everyone give their opinion. This class was fun compared to my law course. The topics are light and interesting. He does talk about his personal life, but it is all part of the experience.

I have a 3.99 gpa and this was the class with the lowest mark for me so far. I got a b+ and it was almost impossible to get any higher. Hes a great prof, rly nice, lets you leave early, no attendance, down to earth etc. but theres no way your getting an a+ if thats what your going for

I am international student.English is not my first language.At the beginning, I am afaid this course. In fact, he made the course funny. I also take his other course.

You will regret not taking him for this class. By far the best teacher I've ever had. He actually tells you everything you need for the final.. And for the paper just make sure you get into a good group that's all. He's also a funny guy which makes going to this class more enjoyable.

Very good professor, he likes teaching and it shows. Instead of reading the slides, he's literally telling interesting business stories. In addition, he's an easy grader and encourage everyone to go meet him and ask feedback on marks. Learning activities are varied: there was even a class review Jeopardy game at the end of last semester.

Barry is an amazing man and prof. He really cares about his students and wants everyone to do well. He's always there to help and an easy grader. Take him if you can!!

Professor Kaufman is really nice and his lectures are interesting, and he allows for regrades which shows he truly cares about his students, giving them a chance to pass. The only downside is that he is a hard marker. We are given theories and even by mentioning everything there is to mention on a particular theory, its still wrong? makes no sense!

He was a tough grader! be aware of the group project! However he is the most real teacher I had! He is hilarious!

You don't need a lecturer to attend such material that's why he's the perfect professor. He make the lecture interesting talking about personal experience.

Really chill guy. Filled with a lot of humor and jokes He tries to be as clear as possible while explaining the content. He doesn't give any homework, just one group project. For the midterm and final, he reduces the course content further more just to make your life easy. He's very specific on which chapters are coming and which ones aren't

Barry is such a good guy. Really chill class but still interesting. He has a lot of work experience and knowledge he shares with the class so his lectures are never boring.

Very relaxed prof who shows up and basically talks about his life. He post all his slides online and always tells you EXACTLY what will be on the exam. So you dont really have to show up to class. Just download the slides, read the book and your set. But the classes are very entertaining. So its definitely a solid bonus. 4.5/5 Would take again.

I took Mana 202 as an elective last semester and Barry made it very enjoyable. Only multiple choice on mid-term and 1/2 mltp choice 1/2 short answers on final. Lastly, a 20% 'participation' grade that only consisted of showing up + doing an optional presentation on any interesting subject. Fun lectures Easy tests (read slides and book) Cool prof

Amazing teacher, cuts to the chase, understands students a lot, will take the time to review your exam. Makes the class fun by giving very relevant examples. If youre to take this class, I would 100% recommend him!!

If you are looking for a fun lecture, Barry is the professor for that. He makes class interesting by talking about his work-life scenarios. He tends to sidetrack a lot though. There is a 10% participation mark plus a 10% one-page paper that will help increase your grade. Read the book and you will be fine for the exams.

Barry is super easygoing and approachable. The lectures were fun and engaging, though we definitely often sidetracked from the course material. As long as you read the textbook and participate/show up you'll do fine in this class. Barry is 100% a teacher worth having.

Amazing prof. Can't believe Barry doesn't have 5/5 on here. Very entertaining and easy grader. Open to discuss grades. Knows organizational management very well. Honestly, it's a guaranteed A- (at least) if you attend all lectures, participate, and read quickly through the book. I recommend his class so much.

Great teacher

To shier people, he can come across as intimidating initially. Don't be fooled: he's more than willing to help outside of class. Class material is pre-selected, but he is very attentive to students' wants and glosses over the long/boring stuff, focusing more on the material that makes for good debates and conversations. Great prof overall. :)

Barry Kaufman is one of the best professors at Concordia. He's a no BS kind of guy - he says what he means and means what he says. He's comedic in class as a means to get his students engaged, and it works very well, I've never been bored. What started out as an gen elective I that just wanted to pass turned into a very interesting subject for me.

Barry is one of the most engaging teachers I have ever had. This man is hilarious and has nothing but his student's peace of mind at heart. He literally states that he doesn't want his class to be a burden. Easy grader, will literally go over exam questions with you and give you the mark if your argument makes sense. Took him for com211, genuinely the best teacher I ever had, could've done better in his class but I learned so much, he's an actual fair grader and even if your wrong, if you can explain/plead ur case, hell give you a 7/10, most teachers would straight give u a 5. Chillest/funniest teacher I've had. manageable workload. hes an absolute fkg legend.

Most chill and funny prof of all time but he is not accessible at all after class. Graded the last assignment incredibly hard (no one got over a 60) and promised to meet with students after Christmas break to talk about final grade/make adjustments. ghosted all of us. would have gotten an a+ if not for that.

The first day of class he told us that the only thing we had to know was that the coffee crisp was the best chocolate bar ever. The class started to argue over other kinds of chocolate bars and when a guy said Kinder Bueno I immediately looked at him and knew I was gonna marry him. Anyway, the class was good except he's a climate change denier

Barry is a real gem - his classes are never boring thanks to his sharp wit. Put in the work (read the textbook, attend lectures) and you'll breeze through with a great grade. unstuck ai was a huge help for preparing for exams.

Barry is very entertaining and funny. You will definitely enjoy his lectures! But when it comes to grading the group projects, everyone complains about getting low grades for no obvious reason. Even if you do the project with the rubric he posted, you will get a low grade. With the quizzes or exams, he is fair to be honest, didn't have many problms

He is knowledgeable about what he teaches, but he grades so damn hard for the group project and his feedback is kinda confusing. He usually ends classes early too, so couldn't complain. Would take him again if I had the chance.
