all he does is talk about evolution in an INTRO to psych class. his quizzes are hard and his exams are even harder.. he is not helpful and thinks he's amazing. all in all, an awful experience and teacher. do not take his classes.
he's a great guy! extremely helpful and his powerpoint notes are worded in an understanding way. exams aren't that bad, but if you read over your notes and skim through the text book, you'll do fine!
Kuhle is Great! I took his fundamentals of psych class and loved it. He makes psychology fun and relates everything to our lives and popular culture. I recommend taking him but make sure you actually study and work hard. You wont have to kill yourself studying but you cant expect to do well w/o working at all.
Great professor, he knows his materials and he knows how to deliver it to the students in a crystal clear way. His homeworks are reasonable, definitely do it because it will help you understand the materials.
This class is NOT a joke but Kuhle is completely fair. He's hilarious and the class flies by. His attendance policy is lenient but if you skip you'll be totally lost. Could very easily get an A if you study as hard as he suggests. So clear, does so much recap. One of my best professors ever. Really wants you to do well.
One of the best professors I have had at the U. Kuhle is a great guy and a fabulous teacher, genuinely cares about his students. Study a lot for his tests, know the powerpoints and practice problems like crazy, and you'll do fine!
Great teacher, also my advisor. Stats is a tough class, but he reviews material as he goes along. Read the textbook!!! His multiple choice questions come from there. Do the practice problems too - they help a lot. Also he's very helpful if you see him during office hours!!
Dr. Kuhle is awesome. He's so personable and keeps class light and alive. It's always interesting and if you have any questions he loves to answer them. Just try to keep them for after class when there's more time for him to answer. TAKE GOOD NOTES, READ THE BOOK AND STUDY EVERYTHING. I can't wait to take his PSYC210
Kuhle is the man. His lectures are lively and interactive. Quizzes are relatively easy as long as you read over your notes and textbook the night before. Tests can be more challenging but still manageable if you study diligently. overall great professor; highy recommended
Personally I loved his class! He makes psychology so much fun. But I found the class hard. I was never sure how to study for the test, but I know people who didn't study and got 100s on his tests. Make sure you read the book! And take down the fun facts in it. Knowing the definitions is not enough! But leaned so much in his class! Take his class!
Kuhle is a great teacher. He is funny and keeps the class entertained and actually paying attention to his lectures. The quizzes are easy if you follow along with the text book and tests can be difficult but not impossible to get a good grade. Definitely take him!
Energetic, funny. Knows how to keep your interest. I highly recommend him.
He is an amazing professor. I have had him for a few classes. He will keep you highly amused and you will actually learn from him. The Tests are tricky but it's college. I would recommend him for any Psych class
Dr. Kuhle is the man! Very funny and his classes are entertaining. His tests/ quizzes can be tough, but the paper and the final are both pretty easy.
Great guy and professor. His tests and quizzes can be kind of hard but not impossible, just read the textbook not only the powerpoint slides. Very funny guy, knows how to keep your attention. Overall, a great class and would recommend taking him!
Dr. Kuhle is the best! He keeps you engaged and makes it easy to learn (plus he's hilarious). Lectures are crystal clear and examples are relatable. He jumps at every opportunity to help you or explain something in a different way. He gives you all the advice you need to do well in his class so USE IT.
Kuhle makes learning psych really interesting and gives good examples to help you remember what you're learning. I didn't have to study too much for the test because I retained a lot of information from listening in class. I was excited to go to class every day because he is such a funny guy and makes class exciting. Definitely take his class!
Amazing professor but a little tough. Tests and assignments were pretty hard; you definitely have to work for an A. One of those teachers that really want you to learn and understand the material. If you don't like putting in work outside of class I wouldn't take him but if you actually want to learn, definitely do.
VEry interactive and enthusiastic. His lectures are very entertaining but you also learn quite a bit. Quizzes are all announced multiple choice with a study sheet. tests are a mix of multiple choice and short answeressay. With effort an A is very possible while having fun doing it. The class i looked forwads to most every week.
he is hillarious and SO goofy. extremely passionate about what he does. tough tests but an excellent professor
Dr. Kuhle is one of the best professors I have had in my entire college career. His lectures are so much fun to go to! If you focus in class and read the chapters you are sure to do well. If you have any questions at all he is there to help and clarify anything. Makes class so enjoyable and I would recommend him for any psychology class.
Hilarious man and clearly very intelligent. Took his class over intersession and he still managed to make a 3hr class interesting. Coolest guy ever. Tough grader but only because he wants his students to learn everything correctly. You must attend class and pay attention. Would take again in a heartbeat.
Amazing teacher for stats just took him for intercession 2016, hilarious! Very willing to help and the text he used is great his powerpoints go right along with it and both are very easy to understand. Not a numbers-intensive class at all, just really make sure you do the homework it helps a lot with understanding concepts. Would recommend!!
Do yourself a favor and take someone else
Very intelligent prof who truly wants his students to do well but has an odd way of showing it. This man uses his intelligence of psych to get under your skin. Do not make the mistake of taking that personal he just wants you to do well. read textbook before class, always print slides and NEVER be late (he will yell at you in front of everyone).
With a tenor of eccentric wit and accessibility, Khule has a way of getting the most out of his students. He is somewhat demanding, but if you're able to meet his demands, you will not only do well in the class and learn, but perhaps garner a resource that will prove helpful for your time at Scranton. Strongly recommended.
literally the hardest class I've ever had. asked for help multiple times and pushed me aside
hardest class and professor I've ever had. I got a tutor and ask him to help me and he refused. thinks he's hilarious and is humor is just annoying
He's alright, definitely very knowledgable and a good teacher. He could be pretty funny and relatable at times, but other times he's straight up rude and annoying. Definitely read the textbook or you won't pass. He's a pretty touch and demanding prof because he wants to test you and see who will last in the program.
he thinks he's funny and says the same examples for every chapter. Also tough grader and made me feel dumb when the class didn't understand a topic
expects you to know all of the information like the back of your hand even if he didn't teach it clearly. tests are pretty much your main grades for the class and if you don't understand the material nearly 100%, you won't do well. very very hard class. be ready to work your butt off for a solid B.
Will take off points for the most absurd things because "incentive." For example, turning in an exam one second late, writing below a certain line, points off an exam for turning something in late. He encouraged people in my class to drop many times. He took off 5 points on this girls test for asking her friend for help. INSANE. He smart tho
He brought a diaper to class to make a point that we have to teach ourselves. Beware of BONUS POINT DECUCTIONS on exams. Print your own slides, and pay attention to the homework and read the textbook religiously. Dont participate too much either or he gets annoyed. Get a tutor
Do yourself a favor and take someone else. He isn't very timely responding to emails, tests you on information not in the lecture, and doesn't seem to care very much about students. There's not much wiggle room either, the majority of your grade comes from exams.
Professor Kuhle is a great prof with extensive knowledge about the subject and course material. He made stats interesting and his lectures are hilarious and awesome. An A in the class is attainable, you just have to pay attention, and work hard outside of class to fully understand class material. Also read the textbook!
I have never disliked a teacher more than this man. He relates everything back to sex, which makes the female students very uncomfortable. He is unnecessarily rude, and does not make you feel comfortable to raise your hand during class. Quizes and tests are impossible. If you have the opportunity do not take this teacher.
really loves what he teaches. great prof. great guy. classes are all lecture and you have to really pay attention in class, read the textbook and do the hw to understand material. he makes class interesting with his lectures and examples. class is not easy, you def have to work for the grade. if you don't wanna do the work, don't take him.
Great guy, I just wasn't a fan of him as a professor. He is very passionate in everything he does. 4 exams, quiz every chapter, a couple papers and an optional cumulative final to boost your grade. Need to read textbook, and make sure you THOROUGHLY understand major topics, short answers can be difficult, multiple choice is pretty easy.
Grade only based off exam grades. He sent an email at the end of the semester saying not to contact him to boost your grade or hell take off points. Does not consider participation when grading. The class is about comprehension more than calculations. READ TEXT BOOK! Expect to get randomly called on. Get a tutor, study buddy, anything to help.
worst professor I ever had not being dramatic . ridiculously rude. PLEASE CHOOSE SOMEONE ELSE AND SAVE YOURSELF. I promise you, you will dread going to his class.
Extremely ignorant and makes everyone uncomfortable avoid taking this class at all costs
I loved the course and I learned a lot from it. I went into the final with an A-, did well on the final, but got a C+ in the course. He gave me 20% on my final group project (15% of total grade). I emailed him asking about my grade; he was rude, reproachful, and distant. He never let me meet with him to see/discuss what I did wrong. Wouldn't take!
Interesting guy; can come off as rude and condescending often. However, a very good teacher conveys material very well and you will learn something from him. Several exams and a fair bit of homework, make sure you do the homework and staple your papers correctly.
Overall a great professor that will jump through hoops to help you understand the curriculum through uses of pop culture and funny references. Those who dont think so, are those whom dont speak up when they have a problem understanding something. All of his notes are printed out onto handouts and left for students to fill in the blanks.
Had this course online. Unorganized and went weeks without assigning stuff and then assigned everything at once. Other than that though, there's 1 homework assignment for each chapter and there was 3 exams and a final. Overall the exams weren't too bad but stats isn't easy. Study and pay attention and you'll be fine. Go to his reviews, he helps.
Really nice man! Tests seemed to be a little more difficult than the lectures given during COVID. Online he is entirely doable!
I don't recommend taking this class if you actually want to learn. Kuhle was very disorganized, rarely posted course materials and lectures, and required HW to be due 24-48 hours after posting lectures. Read the textbook!!! I learned more from reading the textbook than any lectures and he pulls questions for the exam right from the text.
He did not post anything for three weeks and then at the end of the semester we had three exams in three weeks. If you aren't familiar with Stats definitely get a tutor and take detailed notes.
Worst professor I have ever taken at the University. Do not recommend taking him unless you absolutely have to.
Professor Kuhle is an awful professor. Do not take this class. He doesn't give any homework or assignments, but his tests are very difficult and are weighted very heavily. He is a terrible teacher that does not make an effort to assist his students. He has a bad attitude about teaching and makes people dislike the class.
I read prof kuhles reviews before I took his class and I didn't listen. I should have listened. Your course grade is 80% exams and attendance is mandatory. No phones or laptops allowed. He makes inappropriate comments during class about... inappropriate things. Please run while you can, do not take his course.
spent 80% of my week crying over this class. A really nice person but not a great teacher.
He's a nice, funny guy. Course is conceptual, lecture heavy, gives fill in the blank PPT slides, can't just do math to pass. When he encouraged ppl to drop, it's cuz you got a low score on the first test that passing the others is improbable, so why waste your time on this class when you can drop it and focus on others? tests kinda tough, study
Dr. Kuhle is one of the worst professors I have taken at Scranton. He does not help during office hours either. Makes you really work for a good grade and constantly told us it's our fault that my entire class was doing so poorly on exams. Encouraged so many kids to drop the course. Avoid this man at all costs if you can. Cried almost every day.
Homework is given fairly regularly but prepares you well for tests. Textbook problems and reviewing lecture notes are the best ways to prepare for exams. Very knowledgeable about the material he teaches. You have to work very diligently, but a good grade it definitely possible!
Khule is the worst professor I've had so far here. He does not care about his students and tells people to drop his course "if they're not going to try". Even with trying his class was hard for no reason for me and his negative attitude to his students makes it hard to even WANT to pay attention. His course was harder than courses for my major.
Do not take this class. Awful professor and passive aggressive. Tests are hard and he expects you to devote all of your time to this class. Worst class I have EVER taken.
I'm not insulting this man's intelligence, as he knows what he's teaching. However, this professor is one of the most degrading and downright nastiest profs I've ever had. He constantly embarrassed his students, made them feel dumb, and is the root of students' anxiety. He makes rude and unnecessary comments and is just mean. Don't take.
He is literally the worst professor. In the exams, you can get all the math correct & still fail because of the multiple-choice. He makes you look at the statistics so you know how bad the class did. Told the class repeatedly to drop his class after he showed us that 1/2 class failed. He is just utterly insufferable & shows no respect to students.
If your class average for exams is in the 60s, you're the problem! If you take notes best on a laptop, don't expect to be allowed to use it. He leaves slides up for 10 seconds before moving on and the only exception is if he pauses to talk about sex or dogs. Exams have few questions related to lecture. Unsure how he stays employed.
Dr. Kuhle is a statistician but definitely not a good teacher. Material is conceptually challenging and it does not help that he only reads off slides. I have heard stories of bad office hour experiences. This has prevented me from going myself.
Horrible professor that relates every topic to sex. Seems like he gets satisfaction from failing students rather than watching them succeed. No study guides, no explanations, and no point in listening to lectures. More time is spent talking about dogs, hot sauce, and sex than time spent learning... but we're told we "will have to teach ourselves."
Kuhle is incredibly arrogant and rude/disrespectful towards students. | was warned to avoid his class but had to take it as a requirement. He spends a fair majority of class time talking about things that are unimportant but won't bother explaining material in detail. He will belittle you and yell at you. Good luck if you decide to take him.
Kuhle was a very tough professor. I barely passed for credit. I'm an OT Major and needed this class only for credit.. I'm lucky I passed. His class grade is only based on tests and a few minor papers graded towards the end of the semester. He offers an extra credit assignment, which is to outline 55 pages.. do it.. good luck w him if u have him.
talked abt women and sex (yes that) the whole class.. then tested u solely on the textbook.. I did not know about that the first exam and bombed it.. so please good luck if u ever do have him, but try to transfer out.. I just had him last semester and it was awful.
A class taken during intersession, not needed, but decided to because he is my advisor. Great teacher! posted lectures relative to each chapter, 3 exams (options final), extra given, and curved tests, as long as you watch the lectures you will be fine!
I thought Professor Kuhle was great. Very little grades outside of tests so just make sure you are prepared to do well on them. Make sure you know the powerpoint notes and READ THE TEXTBOOK and you will be fine on the exams. Extra credit at the end of the semester (lengthy so don't rely on it because you might not have time) and optional final.
Exams would test on material only in the textbook, not in lectures. His tests were hard and determined your whole grade. The extra credit assignment is long and doesn't give you full credit. There are two easy essays. But if you have no background knowledge of psych, do not take him or do not take him if you are not a strong test taker.
Difficult graders took the max amount of points for questions answered partially incorrect. Exam questions poorly worded. Dr. Kuhle doesn't even bother to look at your homework to see if you are doing it right. He does not seem to be interested in your understanding just making it through material, unless to talk about sex or dogs.
A lot of people say he is bad but he isn't. I had him for PSYC 210, its not an easy course but if you read the textbook and understand the context of the material you will do fine. He gives 10 points on every exam, and room for more, so my test average is actually a 98. He also gives opportunity for a 15 point extra credit at end of semester.
I had to drop this class immediately because of how confusing it was. Each class builds on the previous class so if you were confused the class prior, you are going to be super lost the next day. I was not a big fan of this professor's teaching style. My advice would be, if you do not have to take the Psych stats DONT. Just take the EDU 120 Stats!
Khule is always excited to teach. His lectures are clear and funny. Every exam comes with a 10-15 point curve. So snagging a high grade isn't too difficult. Would def take him again!
Do anything to not take him
Don't take this class. It is mandatory for most pre-health majors and you have to keep at least a C. Be ready to read and not sleep because his exams always fall the same week as 5 other exams. His tests make no sense, his short answers are 3 questions worth at least 30 points and you have to answer it word for word. No partial credit.
I currently have him right now, and I literally dread coming to his class. I am struggling so much because the tests are so hard. The questions on the tests make zero sense because the wording is so weird, and the things he talks about in class don't help. Do NOT take his class unless you have to because it will make your life a living hell.
Awful class and experience. Truly a GPA dropper. Embarrassing that he is still employed by this school.
Acts like a comedian all class, begging for validation and students to like him. I got so much second hand embarrassment from this guy acting so cringe instead of teaching. Exams are impossible and he won't give you even partial credit. No idea how this jester still has a job. Creepy vibes too. Very insecure.
He's a good guy who wants to see his students do well.
I just finished my first semester class with him as a freshman and was easily one of the most difficult classes I've taken. Don't even know how I passed with a B this guy makes his tests the most impossible where they don't even make sense. I have to take 2 more psych classes and will definitely be avoiding him
I would avoid if possible, he couldn't care less about his students. He is quite passive-aggressive if you try to ask any questions. The material is difficult and builds on itself, so it is easy to get lost, but reading the book helps. His exam questions are poorly worded, but he does curve every exam.
Do not take him. Seriously don't. He does not teach the material and expects students to remember very very specific things that he says once in class. He doesn't cover all the material and expects you to read your textbook every night and never tells you to read it. He tests are so hard and impossible to get a 100 on.
AVOID AT ALL COSTS. absolute worst prof I've ever had. rude man. makes uncomfortable comments all class about sex. degrades u in office hours tests are impossible DO EXTRA CRED brought me up 1 whole letter publicly humiliates u- avoid participating if u don't want that SAVE YOURSELF do NOT take genuinely ruined my day attending this class
Hated every second of this class. contemplated not wearing my car belt to class lol. rude, ignorant, disrespectful, uncomfortable professor. ask around to find out what popped up on the screen during class.... don't take this professor I've heard the other psych110 profs r better.
