Probably the most organized class I've ever taken. Every assignment/quiz/test is detailed online from day one, so there are no surprises. Fairly easy to do well in this class if you just keep up with the material.

He is a excellent professor.Does let you know everything the first day of class. No homework but there is 500-700 essays due every other week a total of 10. Besides that you just read the book and have quizzes online. Midterms and finals online and in class essays. He said he didn't have a hot pepper gave him on cause he is an awesome teacher!!!

One of the best professors at Saddleback. I took his online buisness management class. He made the class very fun and the homework and discussions were very interesting. Professor McCarthy makes you work. You have to cite, define, analyze, conclude, etc. and do everything in MLA. But, this forces you to up your game. So if you want an easy A he might not be your cup of tea. On the other hand if you want to prepare yourself for success then this is your guy. Funny, engaging, experienced, practical knowledge.

So happy I decided to take this class! Coach is a wonderful professor with great passion for the subject. I learn so much about business communication that is helping me in my job today. There's an abundance of assignments, but this is taught at a COLLEGE level, unlike other classes. I wasn't initially thrilled about it either, but I can honestly say I can reference/cite automatically now.. if you plan on transferring to university, this is an invaluable skill. Coach stays in touch and makes a big effort to aid students if he can.

Be prepared to work. Overall the material covered was not hard and the assignments were not too difficult but there is an overabundance of them for an 8 week course. Coach is very involved and supportive. Great teacher but uses too many words to get to the point. Still it was good class and he is an effective educator.

This class was a large amount of work, assignment after assignment. The Textbook "Communicating for Results" was excellent information for the business world. Instructor could go down rabbit holes and was sometimes vauge on instructions, but was so very helpful if you just e-mail or ask for clarification. Be prepared to work, and to LEARN.

As stated, enough work to keep you busy, but not overwhelmingly so. As a professor, McCarthy is excellent. I never felt bored in his class; every lecture was engaging and worth my time. You definitely get out what you put in. Don't expect an easy A, but if you are interested in actually learning, I highly recommend you take his class.

Took online and it was not an easy A! This class is designed to prepare students for real life business communications and well as a 4 year university. Lots of work and stress. Quiz due every week (all on Quizlet) and a writing assignment due every week. 1 midterm and 2 part final (written and MC). do every assignment and you'll pass.

I took Coach for Bus 120 (Business Management) in the summer. I must admit, it was a lot of work for a summer class. There was a paper due almost every week but I feel like I learned so much. Barry's directions can be slightly confusing, so use the Student Q&A Discussion Board in order to keep up to date on assignments/various information. The class was online meaning there were no office hours, but he provided his phone number and always responded to emails.

I took BUS104 online and Prof McCarthy was great. At the beginning of his course, he explained the syllabus and its broken down, making it easy to read and understand. The grading is very clear and he always gives great feedback on all assignments that get turned in.

I took McCarthy's BUS104 8week summer course, and I'm pleased to say it's one of the easiest online courses I've taken! He truly cares for student success, and even added a few points to one of my assignments JUST because I asked for additional feedback. Entire course is online with the exception of the on-campus final. Would definitely take again!

Professor McCarthy was the most accessible and caring professor Ive ever had. Although I was in his online class, he made it very easy to communicate with him. Make sure you look at the entire online Canvas sight prior to beginning the course, there are a lot of helpful samples! If you submit some assignments early, he will review and you can resubmit. Since this is a communications class, your final is a paper done in a specific format. Honestly, put in the effort and follow the format and youll do fine

Personally, the course design was well thought out and I could tell he spent countless hours anticipating the needs of his students. Prof McCarthy cares about his students, more so than any other professor I've had. He often dropped inspirational notes that left me so touched. We had a paper due almost every week, but he gave breaks now and then. I would advise others, don't be a perfectionist, you'll drive yourself crazy. He is very fair with the grading.

Engage yourself! If you imagine this class is a cheat sheet for real life scenarios it will be the easiest class! A major project at the end of the semester with written, powerpoint, and oral sections. Stay on top of the readings and you will not regret taking this class. End product is an A.

Pretty nice guy, at first it might seem daunting but in reality after the first week you can really get the hang of it, and becomes quite easy.

He releases pretty much the entire term's worth of homework on the first day of class. Get as much done as you can so you don't have to worry about it during your summer. What's expected is a term research paper, 7 quizzes (unlimited attempts), weekly discussions (specific format, 1 reply), and a final paper! Super easy! It's a breeze.

Prof McCarthy is just an all around nice man. His class is very easy if you do the assignments. Just weekly study sets which are 10-15 question quizzes, as well as small essays posted as discussion posts every other week. Would totally recommend this class.
