Understands material and easily presents them, but has poor social skills which makes it difficult to ask him questions, easy or hard. Other than that, I think he's good.
I don't like him. Locked all the doors to the building where the final was to be held except one door on the back of the building without leaving a sign, then told us it that it was our fault that we couldn't get into the building and missed the final.
quizes took up most of the class. lessons were very short and not very helpful. had to do all homework to understand the content which sometimes could number over 50 questions. do homework and you should be fine.
Nice guy but he is very timid.
Really prepared me for Calc I II and III Deserves more credit than he gets if he could keep his students quiet they might learn something
He's shy, but If everyone in the class would stop being disrespectful and actually listen instead of attacking him, they wouldnt have to ask so many questions. Its obvious that he is very smart in math, and probably has a hard time teaching lower level classes because of this. Go ask an olympic Gymnast to teach you how to do a cartwheel. nuff said
I had him 2 years ago in my Freshman year - he basically forced me to drop the class since I had not taken any college level math courses even though I showed profiency - bad teaching skills.

HORRIBLE TEACHER.I don't even understand why they keep this useless human being. Everyother methods class had practice exams, but he wanted us 2 redo every problem for our practice. He didn't offer extra credit or curve our test grades (even though the average was always below a 50%).If you have the choice, don't pick him! (unless you like torture)

STAY AWAY! This teacher is HORRIBLE! He spends 1/2 the class going over the homework from the previous class and he NEVER has time to finish the next chapter so he makes us learn it ourselves. We begged him for a test review and, in spite, he gave one that did not reflect the material covered AT ALL! He doesn't try to work with you or help you out.

Seriously. Stay out of this guys class. Im coming from Calc into Liberal Arts and he successfuly failed to properly explain Mean Median and Mode. Guy may be smart but he shouldnt be teaching.
If you're looking for an easy A, look for another class. If you're looking for comedy, enroll in this class. Booton is not confident in the material and is often corrected by the students. A nice guy who can't teach. Expect questions that he barely went over on the tests. You'll also have to take notes on the actual ALEKS homework if you hope to know how to do half the quiz and test questions. Precal & Trig should not be nearly as hard as he makes it. Avoid if possible.
Took MAC1114 with Dr. Booton (summer C 2007). VERY legible on notes. ALEKS: online HW (monsters) 10% of grade; QUIZZES: 14 (will drop lowest 20%); EXAMS: 3 (will drop lowest exam). FINAL: 30% of grade. NO CURVE/EXTRA CREDIT! Do your homework and the quizzes/tests are washed-down, tard problems. Final count (out of 17 students): A: 1, A-: 3, B+: 4+
He gets really nervous sometimes. He is very clear, if you are the kind of person that likes to see step by step then he is your teacher. His class gets really boring.Personally he was too slow for me, i wanted to die. Nice teacher though.
I did not really care for him... he was not very clear on his work, and if you do not understand what he is doing and ask him a question he will look at you funny knowing in his mind he has no idea to the answer, so he will back up a couple steps and say what he said three minutes before... and not answering your question at all
He knows his material, doesn't know how to verbalize it. If you took classes like stat, or discrete before this class you will be fine. Small amount of questions on the exams but gives 4 exams and elminates the lowest. Need to attend class, even if you don't want to.
He is very nice, but very boring. His class is really easy. His study guides are the same as his tests except for a few changed numbers. And then he drops your lowest grade anyway.
So i took this class and i wasn't to happy cause of the reviews, but overall was an ok professor. Just study the sample exams and if you get those down you should be fine. Also going to class helps out, but if your good at math you may not have to all the time.
He's hilarious cos he's so weird, but he's not very good at explaining things. there are 5-8 question quizzes almost every day. It's just too much of a hassle
very nice guy. knows what he is talking about. just doesnt explain the material very well. i advise u to stay out if ur not a math expert!! its a hard class i think im going to fail it this semester. if he curved or gave extra credit then maybe there would be hope but its pretty hard.

This class really prepared me for college. I got a B+ so i have some tips. Study form the book he does not teach. do the online homework before the quiz, and yes quizzes are every other day. make sure you get every point I was .37 points from an A- and i did not get it.
This guy is one of those teachers that does not explain math well at all. There are quizes every other class and long hours spent on mml. He doesnt teach the things that will be on his exams so u gonna have to teach your self alot to get a good grade. No CURVE! half my class failed, no A, 3 B, mostly Ds. Dont take this guy!
Horrible. 1-3 Quizzes a week, all cumulative. Pace was incredibly fast, barely covered everything. Avoid this class.
I had to drop this class and I love math classes. This truly was one of the worst teachers I ever had. Granted, college is for the self-motivated, but you should not have to completely teach yourself at home. Went to him early on to discuss the class and an issue I had with his timed quizzes, he suggested I drop the class.
OOMMGG!! Worst teachever ever!! He is horrible at explaining the material. Our first test we had, I got all the answers correct but didn't show work the way he wanted and he gave me a D! Then I got into a car accident 2 days before another test and had Dr. appt's and he "doesn't give make ups" so it was my loss! Stay away!!

He is a very detailed professor that fully explains each chapter. The test revolvs around whatever chapters he goes over in class. He also drops the lowest grade and hmwk is optional soooo....Just study the reviews before the test, attend class, and the class is a breeze.
Terrible teacher! he would spend the first half of class, taking around 30-40 minutes to do just one homework problem, sometimes getting it wrong, then he would spend the rest of the class rushing over the section, not really explaining anything well.
He is not the greatest teacher,but if you do all the homework in the book the class is easy. His lectures are so-so, but he is helpful in his office hours. Some of the questions from the quiz, test and final were from the book.*** The Solution Manuel is a must-- no one can pass without it. This class also may take 20 hrs of study time weekly.
If you take notes, study, and practice problems, you should do very well in his class. He had one quiz every week and homework was online (MyMathLab, also due on a weekly basis). He himself did not write the final - it's a common test for the class - but he doesn't teach you everything that's on the final. He is also quite odd. Rather creepy, too.
I really don't think He should teach college algebra he makes simple things look complicated.
he's really not a bad teacher. u just have to be patient with him. if u ask for help he will help u and he has a lil issue getting the class's attention but other than that is a descent teacher.
Very monotone. Feels like he struggles to get through to his students. His notes on the board are pure gold, but makes the class utterly boring. Throws curve balls on every quiz, so be prepared. MyMathLab is mandatory, don't let it catch up to you. Overall poor instruction, but I got through it. Basically had to teach myself from his notes.
He's... an interesting character. He can make the simplest topic in the class seem like rocket science. He thinks in a vastly different way than normal people do. He also expects too much from his students. His exams are not multiple choice and there are no curves. He gives way too much homework, and his class average on the first exam was a 53.
Do not take this class under any circumstances. Endless formulas, and he'll make you memorize them. Out of 15 hw's and 15 quizes only dropped 1 hw grade. I'm an engineering student. Not used to grades been given out. Class is harder than it needs to be. Engineering statistics is outdated and useless. Pick a prof. that can at least make it fun.

When I first read the comments on this website about Booton I was unsure if they were all true.While the math department is comprised with Intelligent people in their field they have trouble teaching introductory non-math major courses.When I went to SI for my other math class I understood it better than with the professors. Ultimately do ur HW
hmmm... Booton.. Well honestly he did his best to teach statictics but I guess the topic of statictics doesn't really interest most people.Nevertheless, if you don't understand something he is very helpful, that I give to him. If you have to take him be patient with him and just do your HW and read the online textbook.
I agree w the the guy below me, he is helpful. I recall he often stayed behind after class to explain something that you might not get. Look, its an introductory course so its not like you're majoring in math so just go to class, take notes, read the online book, do the homework and you got yourself a high chance to get an A, I did.
He definitely tries to teach well. Was pretty helpful when explaining things but honestly the math program we used (Wiley Plus) sucked. Study on your own a lot, go to S.I and you'll pass with at least a B
If you do not have to take this professor DO NOT TAKE HIM. He is not helpful, give notes right from textbook. You better off reading text book and learning it on your own. I got a B in his class but it was a struggle. Friend who had other professor got much better grades.

Booton is a great math professor. He makes everything very clear, has very detailed notes which help a lot. He drops the lowest test test grade and the lowest 20% of the quizzes. If you take the notes, do your HW, and spend a good amount of time studying youll be fine. Remember these are hard courses and you have to put in a lot of effort also.
just one of those guys who are brilliant mathematicians but just are not made to teach. has a very monotone voice. don't buy the book. just buy the MyMathLabs plus and you will be fine. overall easy class
Overall Booton wasnt a bad professor. He explained the material pretty well, although he doesnt provide enough examples. He speaks slow(monotone)and a little boring. His quizzes aren't bad, only a few questions,but that means higher chance of getting a lower grade. Nice guy and drops lowest exam grade. Pay attention and do hw and you'll pass.
He teaches everything you need to know in order to get started on the homework. You are a fool if you do not take advantage of MyMath Lab it teaches you everything step by step. You can tell he enjoys answering the classes questions. During lab he constantly walks around and asks if you need help. I would definitely take a class with him again
Painfully boring, confusing, and overcomplicates things. Talks in monotone and is basically a deer in headlights when asked any questions. I've already taken precalc & trig in high school and learned everything already, but he confused me so much that I'm failing.
a genuinely nice guy knows his subject if you ask him a question he wont just give you a answer he'll tell you why its that answer take good notes and keep up on the hw and it shouldnt be a problem
Barry Booten is the WORST professor I've ever had!! He over complicates everything! Everyone stopped coming to class because of this! I wish I knew to drop the course. MyMathLab helped a little. There is no tutor to help out with this course. And Booten decides 3-4 weeks before the course ends to set up review sessions! Ugh HORRIBLE!
Barry is the worst professor I've ever had. I came into this class with a strong background in math and I barely passed with a C. I attended all classes and took notes every class. He doesn't teach very well. He knows his material but doesn't know how to put it on a "dumb enough level" for students to understand. If you can, avoid him at all costs!
I switched from his class quickly for different reasons, but from students at his class he is simply horrible. does not bother answering questions, doesn't allow calculators in most of quizes, very poor social abilities (including wearing a big ass safari hat) and pretty much not a good professor overall.
I recommend him. He knows his material, explains it clearly WITH DETAIL, and will respond to any insecurities you may have on his teachings. HOWEVER, you must be willing to go to class, actually pay attention, and spend time on the homework. This class is not for the faint of heart; it is A LOT of material in a short time... and a cumulative final.
I recommend him if you want to learn the material deeply. He is very knowledgeable ! The quizzes and exams are straight from homework. He is very organized and focus on what is really important in order to understand the subject. The course is not easy. You will need to make some effort, but you will learn a lot if you want. He is very helpful.

I've seen ants more interesting than this guy. He over complicates the most basic things and will leave you confused. I am only taking this class for some review. I took Pre-Cal in highschool and got a B. I can do all the math work, but not because of this professor. Stay away from this teacher at all costs, especially if you already suck at math.

He is the sweetest man I have ever come in contact with. He is extremely helpful and was always willing to stay after class to explain anything that I needed assistance with. He prepared me well for the exams.
Booton is okay. He wasn't very helpful but most of the work is online so it's pretty easy to teach yourself. He gives a lot of extra credit! As long as you do the practice quizzes and tests you should be fine. They're usually pretty exact to the actual test and that's where most of the extra credit is from. He takes attendance but not mandatory.
By far the worst professor at FAU!! The material is difficult enough and Booton just makes it even more confusing. Speaks in a boring voice and does not make the class interesting. I went to all the review sessions in oder to learn because the professor was of no use. Only went to class to sign in and I left…DON'T TAKE HIM!!

Dr. Booton is not a bad professor the people below are lazy in blaming their failure on this man. I got an A and to be honest it wasent bad. Do the homework, study ahead of time a little, do well on TESTS by doing the practice tests multiple times which gives 10 points on exams. Seek help when you need it and there is no reason not to get an A. :)

There is no point in going to class. The examples he gives are the most basic and simple questions from the book which really does not help on the homework He knows his stuff but talks to the board when he teaches. I should be getting an A- or A but only because I lived at the math tutoring center and SI sessions. If you do not study you will fail.
Easiest upper-level math class I've ever taken. Problems from the tests/quizzes are same types as the HW problems. HW is collected/graded. He is very nice/helpful and taught engineering math well even though it was his 1st time teaching it. He does run out of time quite often (takes attendance) but doesn't test you on topics that weren't covered =]

Second time taking Booton. School cornered me into taking him for Problem Solving. Booton does not lecture. Booton says "Im not going to teach you any content in this class". does not grade your tests or quizes; has a grader (very bad grader) for that. Will not adjust your grade, even when the grader makes mistakes. over half the class failing.
If you do you ALEKS and go to the math labs you'll pass but class is really boring and slow. He takes forever to explain and does not make the class interest at all.
Dr. Booton isn't a bad professor, as in he knows what he is talking about, but when he talks, he seems to bore even himself. The lectures are taught in a long and boring monotone while he looks at the bored. Do all the homework, pass the quizzes, and do good on every test- there are only 4, so each one counts- and you should do just fine.
He can't seem to be professional enough to teach. He has a doctorate degree, but having degrees doesn't always translate to good teaching. Knowing how to present the the material is more important. I went to observe his class and he was talking dull, and took too long to get the class started. He won't drop the lowest testquiz grades.
Dr. Booton should teach high level math courses. I do not understand he usually teaches only low level courses. He is very knowledgeable and organized. I believe that the senior students would appreciate that.
Booton is a nice guy, but he makes the material too confusing for the students to understand the math problems. With the tone of his voice, it can make the students very lost easily. Do not take him, because if you do, you will risk failing unless you go to math tutoring everyday because everyday tutoring is the only way to help you pass his class.

Booton is a very awkward teacher and takes about 20 minutes from lecture time to take attendance. He's not mean in any way but it explains things weird in in a difficult way. Taught myself more in that class using ALEKS than he taught me. Just do good on your first initial ALEKS test and you'll get less homework.
Boston's lectures are boring and pointless. The only reason I went to class was for the attendance which counts for a percentage of our final grade. Aleks taught me what I needed to know for the tests and quizzes. Go to class and sit in the back with headphones and Aleks unless you want to die of boredom.
Yeah he's kinda boring but he's a solid professor. All homework is obviously done through ALEKS and he's easy to follow while teaching. He does take attendance so be ready for that. Honestly he's not that bad and he's pretty approachable if you're having problems understanding something.
If you have a basic understanding of algebra from high school and are pretty good at it, I highly recommend taking this course online. All work is done through the ALEKS program. I really loved not having to sit through a math class each week and being able to learn at my own pace.

yeah I hated this class. I went to him for "help" but I would have been better off talking to a wall. he has such a monotone its hard to have a conversation with him. he knows math but doesn't know how to break it down in layman's terms.

Bit of a mixed review. Dr. Booton means well, and has made math his life. Many students don't give a damn, which is why I think he takes a distant approach to the class. It pisses me off to see students walk out of his class mid lecture. He's not the best teacher, but he's a good guy. Show him respect and he's happy to help you understand it.
If you get him as a teacher DROP HIM. Worst teacher ever. I go to the math learning center everyday for at least 2 hours. This teacher teaches AWFUL. Everybody leaves his lectures. The grades in this class are horrible. I try my best and right now I am aiming for at least a "C".
If you register, you may as well go to tutoring (or teach yourself), he doesn't know how to explain the math. Good person, but a horrible professor. I just got a C, luckily I passed. If it were not for the tutoring center at FAU, I would have failed or dropped the course for sure.
Lectures tend to be quite dry, but all work is done in Minitab. He writes down lots of formulas to show where the numbers in Minitab come from, but there is no need to memorize them. Pretty clear with what he expects from you, and no surprises on tests. Only 2 HW assignments and 2 tests. Overall, not a very stressful class, but you still learn.

took this class for algebra and it was easy, when i took it it consisted of aleks but if you understand any math previous to taking this class it should be cake.
Took this class online it was pretty easy. Just practice the practice exams and do your homework and you should be fine. He lets you retake one of your exams. Take his class you won't regret it.

He is a nice guy, but has no idea what hes doing. The class is HEAVILY affected by only four tests (final included). If you do bad on the tests, you are in trouble no matter how well you do on anything else. Im a straight A student and I am still struggling. Wouldnt reccommend.
Never posted grades in canvas so I never knew my grade all semester. Easy class but taught myself most of the material his lectures didn't teach me anything he would skip over things seemed very confused most of the time.
YIKES!!!! Don't take him especially his online course!! :( I passed barely but would NOT recommend and would encourage you to look for another professor. His tests are insanely hard and labs are confusing. Lots and lots of work. Expect to make this your main hard class for the semester that you will have to study every night to barely pass.
You pay for an online access code to follow lectures , do homework, labs and exams through the website. Class seemed backwards. All manipulation of data using MS Excel. You have to follow steps based on lecture content, but provides little to no explanation as to why, as you go through it. Exams make up significant portion of grade weight!

Honestly class is very easy. Passed with a 99.7%! If you're confused go to tutoring. But I had online so all my exams were online, if you just practice the lectures and take notes you'll be fine! What I did was saye all my lectures that I practiced in excel and had that open with my exam to make sure I did step by step right. Never interacted w him
Took Barry for Applied Statistics. You must sign up for the co requisite lab, used simply as another class day. Gives very dry, boring lectures on statistics proofs. But you are not tested on any of this, the tests are entirely Minitab. It is very easy, you will get an A. He really should be teaching higher level courses like Real Analysis.
There's no textbook but the lectures make understanding the material very clear. Responds to emails in a timely manner. Good professor. Would take again.
I have taken this professor for an online course during the summer. He does not lecture at all. He has powerpoints which are just questions and answers. The powerpoints do not explain the course correctly. He uses this limes program which has lectures, but again they do not explain the information well at all.
Okay, professor but he didn't do any lectures we kinda just had to read the lectures in the program and learn from that. He's not hand on at all but if you like that like me it's not bad. His grading scale is amazing. He starts an A off at 90-100 and A- at 89-87.
The tutors are entirely the reason why I passed this class. The Prof. has a forgiving grading system, but students are basically on their own to learn the material with only sample questions and answers as a teaching tool. Students must move thru each chapter using a process of elimination to get by.
He didn't teach anything since the class was online. He told us to read the book and do the homework through Wiley. Most of the answers you can find online if you get stuck. However, having a lecture would have really helped near the end when the material gets harder. Go to the TA's for help. They can help explain the hard stuff in a lecture style.
Super hard class but fully online for me. No zoom or teaching at all. Really hard to teach yourself Excel. If you are somewhat good at Excel I would take this course, if you are not, I don't recommend... Only way I passed was through a tutor and a lot of practice. Super frustrating and not really worth it.
Dr. Booton is not bad at all. The program you use for stat is MyLab which gives step by step solutions to almost every problem. The course is easy to understand and as long as you complete the homework and quizzes you should be completely fine. Was worried about this class before I took it. However, it is one of my easiest classes I took this year.
Booton is hard to not like. The online lectures teach you everything you're going to need to know for the lessons, and he provides other videos inside of the homework to assist. He responds fast over email, I once received an email back from him 10 minutes after I sent one, at 9pm. Course is challenging but nowhere near impossible for anyone.
Dr. Booton is an easy A if you do the work. Very straightforward. Homework is not too hard, quizzes come from homeworks, exams come from quizzes. You'll be fine.
Stat was a hard class to jump right in to. Booton is average, as much as I hate to say it. He has multiple TA's that assist you very fast, which I can respect. Overall average class, could be better could be worse.
College algebra is split into two things - lecture 2 times a week + 1 lab day which is quiz day every week. There are a ton of quizzes, but the practice quiz makes it easy since it is basically the same thing. As long as you have enough time to set aside and understand the class, you're ok. Other than that Booton isn't very good at teaching it.
Seems like a nice and caring guy when you actually talk to him, but not a good math professor at all. barely helped students with anything and lectures were confusing. didn't respond to emails and lots of students could only get help from TA's. quiz or test on Mondays even if the rest of the school has the day off for a holiday. 0/10
Terrible teacher. Not easy to work with and not understanding in any way. Avoid him at all costs.
Dr. Booton wasn't that great of a professor, however for me College Algebra was not hard at all since the practice quizzes/test are the same questions as the actually test and quizzes, with different numbers. However, Booton couldn't teach very well.
Very nice person but not the best professor. lecture attendance was not mandatory but you basically have to teach yourself the content. On quiz/test day you get time before to finish assignments and study which was very helpful.
Dr.Booton is a good guy but not a great teacher. You have to teach yourself the material. The only reason I did well in this course was become I put the time in to teach myself and I already knew most of the material. There is a quiz or test every week and a few hours of homework. Lecture isn't worth going to.
Professor does not teach, you basically teach yourself the whole class. If you ask a question he reads what the notes say, and they do not help once you get half way through the course. My flight was cancelled due to a blizzard and I needed to take the last exam on a later date, and he did not allow me because it is not an 'excused' absence.
Professor Booton is a nice, laid back professor. However, he is not good at teaching. You have to teach yourself the course and are required to take a quiz every week. The lectures are also pointless to go to since he just reads off the notes. He does have a forgiving grade system and takes off two of your worst quizzes at the end of the semester.
Does not teach. FAU professors let the computer teach you. Confuses me why they get paid. Takes years to answer emails. Had to petition the course due to his lack of response in emails. Only person who saved me was the dean identifying his errors after months.
Barry Owen Booton is a nice teacher however when it comes to lectures and teaching the topics, there is a lack of clarity. He doesn't clearly teach the topics and even though it is college and we have to teach ourselves, many times topics are left untaught and that leaves student confused. Therefore, an area to improve on would be teaching topics.
If you have any questions he'll just tell you to ask the TA. He doesn't really teach either he kinda just reads off a slide show someone else made, that parts not mandatory though, you're better off just going to tutoring instead.
He's a very nice guy but he is a boring professor. He doesn't really teach. He mainly reads off some other guy's notes. You might as well just take this class online because I taught myself throughout this whole semester.
Easy class but only because I like algebra. If you aren't great at math, do not take this professor because he is a really bad teacher. By the middle of the semester, there were only about 3-7 people attending class still because he just isn't great at teaching.
I did not enjoy or care for this professor at all. In his lectures, he reads notes that are posted on Canvas (most likely not even his) and takes forever to explain these topics. The lectures do NOT cover the question structure of the homework, quizzes, or tests. I ended up having to teach myself this class, so please do not take this professor.
The worst teacher i have ever had in school ever. Was accused of cheating by the horrible TAs and had to go to great lengths to get it resolved. He didnt even see what happened and claimed he did and lied. He was not understanding and very rude to me the rest of the year.
If you're good at math, do take, because lecture attendance isn't a required grade, so that extra time is useful. Lectures are super boring and unhelpful since he just parrots the pre-posted notes. If anything, use the mymathlab homework and practice quizzes/tests to study off of, they're much more helpful if you take them multiple times.
Everything is online and ik a lot of people who said he just read off a paper when doing the lectures. If you're not good at math or you need help with algebra, PICK SOMEONE ELSE! I only took it with Booton bc I'm good at math and needed the credit. If I actually needed help, I would've failed
If you are okay with going to tutoring instead of going to the lectures, you will pass the class with an A. Quizzes every week and Test every 3 weeks. If you can teach yourself then take this class, if not then pick someone else.
Lots of homework, quizzes every week, test every two weeks. Lectures are boring and he just reads off the notes already posted. Not really teaching the material to help you understand better. All the homework's are due on the same day and can be 10+. Attendance counts.
DO NOT TAKE IF YOU'RE BAD AT MATH!!! I'm not good at math at all and if you take this course you have to teach yourself everything! You have two quizzes every week and a test every two to three. He doesn't teach anything at all and doesn't care. I am going to fail this course for sure thanks to this professor.
The worst professor I have had in my entire life. He gets paid with our tuition money to sit at the front of the room and read other people's notes. I have spent 8-12 hours in the math lab every week and still am failing the class. From the bottom of my heart I'm telling you do not take this class he is horrible.
This guy doesn't teach you anything there is a quiz every week along with 4 homework every week due Friday. Ive done a total of 55 homework ands 9 quizzes and 5 test, the workload is insane.
Lectures are pretty dry, but if you're decent at math, you can get by on your own. Unstuck study and practice quizzes/tests were super helpful for study prep.
Barry Booton is the worst professor I have ever had to deal with. His lectures are long, uninteresting, and the notes that he reviews with are not even his. One day a week there is a lab with a quiz/test and he is super strict with calculators/showing work. If you want to waste your time and learn nothing, this is the class for you
While Dr. Booton was nice, this class wasn't the best. I don't learn great great by just looking at notes and he all he does is read off of them. I probably wouldn't take him again, but if your good at math and can teach yourself then he is probably fine.
Proctored test or quiz once a week, only one test retake at the end of the semester. Drops lowest quiz grade. Even though the practice quiz and tests don't look like the actual thing, it is extra credit and is worth it at the end of the semester.
do yourself a favor and skip the lectures, all he does is read the slides which you can do on your own time. only mandatory part was going to the lab once a week. be prepared to study a lot by yourself, but especially study the practice quizzes.
This professor treats this class as if it was an online class and does bare minimum lnote lectures. You need to teach yourself in this class and every week there is a foundation quiz of things you have not learned yet that counts towards your grade. It is extremely difficult and some things that are on tests, he has not taught or explained at all.
Lectures are kind of pointless, he posts lecture notes and just goes over them. He's not bad but you do basically have to teach yourself as you go
Lectures are horrible, he doesn't use a mic so you cant hear him and its a big room. You don't need to go cause you're better off teaching urself from hw/etc. Tests are in a computer lab proctored. I am horrible at math and this prof was a punch in the face. He's a nice guy but ure better off taking someone else.
Took this professor without looking at any reviews and wow he was terrible. Lectures are the biggest waste of time as he just reads the notes (which aren't his) and doesn't teach. Tests and quizzes affect a large portion of your grade so if you do bad on one good luck getting your grade back up. Get ready to teach yourself everything and fail

I do not think he is as bad as the ratings are making him. I did not think Stats was that hard a class. His lectures are not mandatory. If you are not very good at math, I would not recommend it. I figured a lot out myself.
Curved the entire class grade. Algebra teacher and it shows, he loves doing proofs. If you struggle with knowing whats important, just write down the formulas (proofs don't matter) and focus on homeworks which mirror the exams exactly. However if you have a good understanding and aren't easily confused on whats note-worthy, he is a great teacher.
