he is a really good teacher, he help us whenever we need it!!! keep up the new work. I know u r new, but u r doing great!! =-)
Mr.Podlesney is a good teacher his tests are just a little hard but he cares about the students learning I've taken other teachers for math and he's the best so far!!
Mr. Bart explains everything CLEARLY. Math, as he explains it, is easily understood. He's very helpful and willing to work with you until you DO understand the concept.
Very nice professor- I took him during the summer at another school and he was very dedicated to teaching. I recommend him to anyone who has trouble with math!! Workload is fair and tests are manageable if you study. He's very charming as well:)
HE is nice guy
This is the 2nd time I've taken one of his classes and hopefully he'll be teaching Math 40 in the fall. He's a great teacher! Just keep up with your homework and ask questions when something isn't clear and you'll be successful.

Mr. podlesny is dedicated to math, if you know the material i strongly suggest you talk to him. he is a very aproachable teacher.
Great professor. Dedicated mathematician. Explains clearly and takes time to answer questions during the class. Homework is crucial to pass the tests.
he is a great teacher who is very dedicated. he is willing to help in any way if you are willing to work. he is tough, and his tests are hard, but he is very approachable. just make sure you come to class cause if you don't you will get behind! one of the better math teacher for sure!
He is an amazing teacher! He explains the material extremely well, answers any question u have during and at the end of the class. With questions during lecture, if even 1 person still doesn't understand after 2 or 3 times of him explaining how to do it, he'll have the person make a note and talk later so that that person will leave knowing it.
He is one of the best instructors I have ever had. He explains everything thoroughly and loves what he teaches. You have to do the work to pass, but he is very approachable and will help in any way possible. He has a very sexy accent. I strongly suggest taking this class with him. He is a very knowledgeable as well as a very nice person!
Awesome instructor! Very easy to understand and is willing to explain until you get it.
He is a great math Prof... best i have had at cod... You have to do the work in class and homework... His test are a little hard... and if you dont pass his class it is because you didnt put the time into it... I didnt pass the class the first time i took it with him but i take responsiblity for not passing...
He is a good math professor If you want help he is ready to help and is very approachable very nice!!
He is a good professor. He explains the work in good details and is there to help you.
He had no control over the class I was in. The talking, cell phone calls, texting, giggling etc never ceased. Even during tests it was as noisy as a nightclub. I got A's on the internet ONLY homework but couldn't keep track of a damn thing in his circus like classroom so I dropped the class.
He is a great professor. I have always had a hard time in Math, but I have an A in his class because he takes the time to explain everything and he is very nice. If you need an extension on your homework he will give it to you. His tests and quizzes are not to hard. I recommend him.
He is a very good teacher. math 40 is hard. He is Hot!!!
He is a very good teacher. math 40 is hard. He is Hot.
I think He is a very good teacher. For me math 40 is hard.
I've met few professors who teach math clearly and that are willing to help you until you understand. If you go everyday and take good notes you'll do fine!
is a great teacher, clear lessons.
Professor Podlesny is the most dedicated Professor I've met. He is willing to help you in any question you have. If you are behind math, he is the guy to come to. Do homework, ask question and you will get an A on his class guaranteed.!!!!
Still Amazes me how many professor really dont know "how to teach" math. But with Podlesny, he is always willing to help, lectures are clear, throws in the humor, and fair grader. Love this guy.
he was cool!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Awesome teacher.....will explain until you fully understand. Hw is on the internet which makes it easy! Easy a if you pay attention
He id really helpful and explains very well.
He is a great math professor! He goes above and beyond to help the students fully comprehend the material, and he is such a nice and friendly person. He tends to make jokes during lecture and keeps the class interesting most of the time. You will not need a textbook in his class, and he also has an in class tutor :D
he was awsome!!! i recommend his class too bad he does not offer math 60 monday's and wednesday :( but if you get a chance to take his class please do it great!!!
I took Mr. Podlesny for math 60, math 54, and math 40. He is a great professor. He is very helpful and has time to help his students when needed. I am also currently taking Math 10 online with him and he's available through email or office hours constantly and consistently. I would recommend this professor.
This is my first time taking math with Professor Podlesny and I enjoyed it very much! He is a great math teacher and always makes the problems much clearer.
He is really good! I recommend you take him for any math! STUDY STUDY STUDY for his tests!
Best teacher I've had in math. Took him for math 60, 54 and Math 40. I hated math before this, he made it so much easier to understand, and explained it very well. Homework is done online and book is not needed. Must study for exams and quizzes. Homework if the best study guide. Overall great!! GET HIM!
He is THE best math professor. His exams are simple to solve and are based off the homework he gives and what he writes on the board. If you study for his math class you will pass with an A. It is a very smooth class and he always available after class and office hours. I wish he was teaching my next math class! A+++++
He is a great teacher!! i took him for all my required math classes because he was very helpful and explains things well. He works hard to insure that every student under stands the concepts that he is teaching. Take his class!!!
Great Professor!I hate math, but he made it seem soooo easy. I highly recommend taking him:)
Amazing professor! Everything you read about him here is true! HOT!! ;-)
Words cannot explain how grateful I am for Mr. Podlesny. Never in my life have i ever had a teacher this good. I went from knowing nothing about math in math 70 to understanding. On top of being a great math teacher, he is so nice and he likes to help!
moves very fast during lectures so you are copying everything he writes the entire lecture. weekly quiz's on prior week's sections and 3 non-cumulative exams and a cumulative final. no midterm. not an easy class so you have to be dedicated to do the homework so you understand. he can be very funny.
He is very clear when he lectures and if you don't understand you can ask him at anytime; he won't make you feel dumb or anything. Obviously, you will need to study to pass the tests and final. He does grade fairly, and tries to make the lectures really easy for everyone to understand, great professor.
Good understanding :)!!
DO NOT TAKE HIM FOR MATH 54!First, I would like to say that what he teaches you in lecture is not the same as the homework or the quizzes/exams. The final is extremely hard and its worth 35% of your grade. You're better off taking someone else.
He can be really fast and sometimes it feels as if he is being rushed. He doesn't go over the homework from the previous day which is a problem if you needed help on some problems. You have to make sure to do your homework every day or it can be easy to fall behind.
I'd spent a good 5 hours of homework EVERY DAY apart from class time.He really knows his stuff so well that he'll forget to tell you a theorem until a day AFTER struggling with the homework. He DOES try to help you but his accent makes comprehension difficult. Very demanding class. I used to like math, not anymore. Oh and WEBASSIGN! YUCK!
Very humble person. Easy class if you pay attention. We need more people like this i recommend the class.
Very humble person. We need more teachers like him. I recommend him.
Very good teacher but he teaches and goes too fast through the lectures, I spent the whole time writing notes without pausing or giving us enough time to understand what he was writing on the board. I do not recommend this teacher if you are a visual learner.
Great professor. Not easy but if you study and keep up with homework you will be OK.
Greatest Math teacher of all time! Uses MyMathLab and don't need book. If he's teaching your math, TAKE HIM.
An OK teacher. Can be funny. Take him if you must.
He makes sure we understand what he teaches us. He also has an awesome accent:)
I took math 5 and I like his method of teaching , because it is very close to my teachers from my country. He is there if you need something. He spent time to explain the chapters and he teach rotation of a conic. :) I would like him to teach 1A 1B , because he explaine very well.
He is a good professor and his lectures are easy to understand. If you need help he is always there to answer your questions. The tests are a bit tough, but if you study there is no reason why you shouldn't pass. We didn't need to buy a textbook because it came with the code for webassign.
His lectures are amazing, there crystal clear, he never leaves you confused and he honestly really tries with everyone. This was his routine Lecture, Class Examples, Independent Examples, And quiz the next day! So it was so much practice that there was no way you wouldnt get it! He walks around during examples to help! This Professor cares!
There was times when the materials covered got hard but don't hesitate to ask for help he always helps his students. Expect quizzes every week and online homework, he only does this to help you remember the material for the exams. he is a great teacher and i would totally take a course with him again if i had the chance
I have taken all my required Math classes with him simply because he is the BEST math professor I've had. If you want to learn math, I really recommend him. He is always available to answer questions and ensures you know the material. His lectures are very clear. I will take math all over again with him because of his teaching style.
Great lectures, always available. Grades material clearly for you to see your mistakes and practice. He is great but you have to study if you want a good grade. Good thing about him, he is there for you if you ask for help.
Great lectures. Gives example on the board. Makes sure that everyone understands the lesson before moving on. Always is there to answers any questions you may have.
This teacher has been amazing. Ive taken him for two classes and just signed up for my third class with him. I am HORRIBLE at math but he knows how to explain it and break it down very well. Is funny in his own way and is there for his students. he wants everyone to succeed. Best math teacher I've ever had, hands down!
never have been good at math, this class kicked my butt! There is a quiz every monday and test at end of chapter. If you apply yourself and try hard you will pass! The hw sucks half is on lecture and other half he doesnt show you and its hard but test are only 10 questions and quizes are only 4, all from info in your notes.
Fall 2015- Math 40 in general is pretty tough, but I would recommend taking it with this teacher. I cannot stress how important it is to read the book and do the chapter reviews every single time you finish a chapter. Apply yourself like that everyday and you will get an A. He drops the lowest test score and replaces w final. 4 test/7 quizzes
Great math professor! Always ask questions if you need to. He is so easy to understand & doesn't make math difficult at all. Especially for us who aren't so good at math.
3 Prof. Podlesny! He makes the material very easy to understand. Actually goes through every step of the problem and explains clearly how he got the solution. Cares about his students, and constantly asks if we have questions. Very helpful. Pay attention. Tests are somewhat hard. Overall great math professor.
Same routine everyday; lecture then work activity. But every Mon. he would give a quiz with 5 questions, but after two lessons were completed he would give an exam on the following Mon. Total of 8 quizzes and 4 exams plus the final. Expect homework every day but it won't be due until the day after. If it was assigned Mon. it would be due Wed.
This Professor is excellent at breaking down a subject and explaining why it works that way. Great for math! Sometimes I thought he was a tutor right by me. That is how good he is. The only downside is his tests are difficult.
Explains material clearly. Won't move on until he knows everyone understands. No extra credit given, but as long as you do the online homework those are easy points. Gives quizzes every week but as long as you do the homework and classwork there is no reason you shouldn't pass the quizzes or the exams. He makes himself available if your struggling
He is an amazing teacher, he explains everything with patience and clearly. He does give a lot of homework. Be prepared to take tests every Monday. The class is not the easiest however, he teaches very well.
He's a really great professor, his lectures are very clear and helpful and he is always open to answering questions at any time. On the other hand, he gives A LOT of homework and his tests are pretty difficult, but he does give partial credit. Honestly with this class you really do get what you put in.
I toke profesor Podlesney for previous courses and he by far was the best math teacher I have ever had. He makes you work for the grade but it pushes you even more. In the 2 classes I had with him I always tried to pass with an A that's how determined I was. I passed with two Bs. After class he's there to help you out with any questions you have.
He's easy to comprehend. When he's lecturing he makes sure everyone understands, he'll stop to ask everyone if they have any questions. If you show up to class ,do the work, and actually study for quizzes and exams you'll be fine.
Don't get me wrong, he's a great teacher. The only thing that sucks about the class are the exams. The exams are nothing like the homework and nothing on what you learned in class. They're only 8 questions on the exams, so if you get 3 wrong, you're skrewed. But he does give partial credit for the ones you made little mistakes on.
He is an incredible instructor. He plays by the rules so there is no way of getting around homework and studying. Explains material very clearly. His watch is 5 minutes behind so expect him to arrive 5 mins late everytime. You deffenatly get your money's worth. He also is very helpful during lab hours.
Very good teacher, explains everything to detail, and is open to questions. Although he gives out a lot of homework and does quiz's or tests every Monday, as long you study and do your work, you'll pass.
This instructor is straight forward. show up to class, lecture, and lab work. Clear grading criteria for which he drops the lowest quiz and homework. On the downside, the quizes only have about 5 questions. That being said, completely missing one will deduct your percentage by a significant amount. Homework is a must in order to understand and pass
I took this class during summer and it was fast and hard. His lectures are good, and understandable. He does give a quiz every Monday, which gives you the weekend to study. You will need to buy the workbook, and his test can be confusing. If you study the notes and review the textbook you will pass. He is always 5 min late.
A very good teacher, but grades tests heavily. Gives lectures first half of class and you work in workbooks second half. Homework is only 10% of final grade, exams are 45%
Podlesny is a pretty good math teacher for the most part. He has a very generic way of teaching and solving problems. He's a very straightforward formula guy. He's very helpful if you're having any trouble with the homework or workbook. There is an exam after every chapter and the exam scores are about 60% of your grade.
Professor Podlesny is a great professor. if you take notes and do the chapter reviews for the exams you will be fine! i definitely recommend going to tutoring for the math homework! study and show up to class, be ready to put the work in!
If youre a math lover and have a more practical mind hes perfect for you! He was personally too fast paced for me as math is not my strongest subject. Tests are a lot of your grade, and theres homework basically everyday. Hes a very nice person but really wasnt my teaching style.
Dont take him. The exams are nothing like the homework or what he lectures on which makes it difficult when taking the exams.
Podlesny is great professor but his test were to difficult. His test made you feel like everything he taught in class was pointless. I would have mental breakdowns during his tests.
hes an ok teacher and all but he makes his tests ten times harder than the lesson for NO REASON !!! would not recommend this class to anyone
He was such an awesome professor. He is always ready to help you if you have any questions! He is fast paced but he always asked us if we had any questions and again if we did need help he is super helpful.
Lack of motivation and when he is giving a lecture his writing is not understandable.
As every class it is a bit hard but depends on you to succeed. He is a nice teacher and open to help you.
If you're going for trig or precalculus, consider choosing another professor. I took a class that I already know the information of because I couldnt skip it; however, even if I knew all the information I needed, homework and tests were so hard and not related to what we do in class. You are going to have to work really hard on this class. Take it
The best math professor Ive had at COD. He always asks if anyone has questions before moving on. Furthermore, he makes it easier to understand difficult concepts. For anyone complaining about tests: Math tests are always hard regardless of the professor. Ive taken 6, Podlesney is the best
A very good professor, the homework was online and it gives multiple chances for you to get the right answer. The quizzes and tests were online as well and graded online, was very understanding if there was an accident in the question.. You do need to buy the text to do the work. Never showed his face though which kind of sucked :( WOULD TAKE AGAIN
He is always willing to help and explain whatever you want, and is very nice about giving extensions.
I'm a math major, so my opinion may be biased. He truly is passionate in his teaching and comprehension of math and will do his best to teach you the subject as easily as possible. He's always open to questions after his lectures and is very respectful even if your questions are from basic algebra. Take him please.
Was such a hard class for me. Really stressed me out this year with him not being understanding of me being slower and behind the rest of the class. Tests and quizzes proved to be extremely difficult so be prepared to study hard for these.
Passed Trig because of this professor. Made sure everyone understood the material.
Calculus is no easy course, professor podlesney made sure we understood the material we were learning. Like any hard course , the grade you get is determined by you . That being said, he was really understanding when grading his exams. If you understood the material, he would give you most of the points.
Professor Podlesny, is a great professor, he gives out quizzes every other week and most questions are related to the book. Is constantly asking if anyone has questions and gives time for student to process the material. Also, very respectful of any basic Algebra questions. Math is a difficult course, so expect to work hard for your grade
Podlesny is a very caring professor. Your grade will be centered around your 6 quizzes, although he will drop your lowest score. If you are the type of person who will work hard, this professor is the one for you. Will never make you feel bad about asking a question. Not once in my 3 consecutive semesters with him.
You can tell Podlesny knows enough about math in a way that he understands, but he could do a better job at explaining concepts. I had to heavily supplement materials for quiz. I really believe that if you cannot explain things in an understandable manner, you don't understand enough about the material. Midterm is 40% of grade, final is 50%.
Get ready to teach yourself... You will not understand all the material after lecture. No extra credit at all. He does not give clear feedback on the test. THIS IS A WEEDING OUT PROFESSOR!
Way harder than needed
LOVED this class! He was always so welcoming and great to talk to. His tests were more than fair, typically straight out of our homework. He did assign a lot of homework, but it was nothing more than what was necessary to prepare us for our tests and later lectures. I would 100% recommend him to new students.
Professor Podlesny is an excellent professor who I believe genuinely cares about his students. His office hours are great, and he's always willing to answer any question even if rudimentary. The tests are fair, and he drops the lowest quiz. Lectures can drag on, but it's because he wants everyone understands the material and how to apply it.
The class is tough, but using Unstuckstudy alongside the textbook helped me keep up. Professor Podlesny's teaching style takes some adjusting, but go to office hours and you'll get the hang of it.
Ok prof, heavy jargon sometimes, when you had questions he'd answer but rarely did he actually help me understand, and he was unforgiving with grading no extra credit. Set me back a whole year since I almost failed, I studied 20+ hrs a week to maybe just barely get a c-. Class dwidlled down from 30 to 5 students, try him but idk. Took him in summer
He is a very sweet man although I've never failed a course so miserably. After asking other professor's that teach trigonometry also, he is the ONLY one who will not have the formula available on the white board, AND he won't even let you use ANY notes. You are expected to remember everything! Was absent 2 weeks before Spring 2025 final! W/ NO SUB!
Although the content of this course is very rigorous in nature, this professor will do his absolute best to help you get through it. This is now the fourth time I have taken one of this professor's courses and not once have I ever felt that he doesn't care. Other students may say what they want, but Professor Podlesny will not let you down.
Lectures were intensive, but understandable. Threw in a few jokes here and there. Made himself available and did not mind going over questions and even the occasional off-topic tangent now and again. Lots of homework but lets be real, that's the nature of math classes. Pop quizzes weren't bad if you actually study the material.
