Very fair test questions. Good explaination of material and problems.
Smart guy, anyone who can teach *me* calc gets an A+ in my book. Hard to understand at times but he's very helpful and fair.
Seems like he's confused most of the time, unorganized and doesn't seem to care about perf. of his students. Half the stuff I did wrong on tests was because I listened in class- if you take this only learn from the book!!!
worst professor I have ever had in my life. Do not take if your graduation depended on it!!!!
easy class because i took the lowest math i could get credit for.
He was good. Can't understand him at first. But once you go to class his accent grows on you..lol He's better than Shi..
He could not explain anything. The only way to pass his tests was to know the old ones inside and out. Once, someone in our class asked him a question, and he just said "what....?" after a long pause, she just said "nevermind, I'll fi
I dropped this class after about a month. Overall the problems you do he only has about 20 questions on the test. So if you get one wrong it affects your grade so much. wouldnt suggest taking math at ou try occ. i should have listened.
Very hard to understand however, if you give him a chance you'll be ok. Do the assigned problems they seem to appear on tests!
Think accent but understandable once you get used to it. He assigns odds out of the book for homework, but there can be many. Tests are rather easy. He can get a little confused if you ask a question on something that he is explaining.
You cannot understand stand him unless the entire class is very quiet, and he just sucks.
Never went to class, still passed with flying colors. The classes I did go to only confused me, I got my worst test score on a portion of the test that he did explain while I was in class. Do not take this professor unless you can figure things out alone
Do not, I repeat, Do not take this man for this class. He's never available when you need help nor can you understand him when talks. Not to mention that all he goes over is proofs from the book. Take my advice and don't take him for anything.
sit up front or else you won't be able to hear/understand him. he does many proofs, but in the end it's pretty helpful since theorems are what the class ultimately comes down to. assigns many exercises but doesn't collect them. do them anyway. it helps.
It's ashame that people bash this guy. Class is as straight-forward as you could ask for. Alot of proofs, however he is not monotonous with them. Accent isnt bad AT ALL.If you bashed him maybe you shouldnt be in a high level class to begin with, good prof!
He is Hard to Understand but it's math. Very helpfull, always made time in his office for you. Easy on the exams. Had him for Calc 1.
Differential Equations is difficult no matter who teaches it. This professor makes it more difficult. He does not do many examples, and the ones he does are already in the book. If the class does not perform as he likes, then he collects homework. The tests are not very hard, but are not easy either
AWFULL!!!!!!!!!! The worst professor I ever had. Isn't helpful, your grade is just your tests. Teaches right from the book. Don't reccommended
I like the dude...Funniest accent in history; tests problems right out of the homework; will make you laugh without even trying...Oh yeah, if you actually want to learn math, take someone else.
I got a 4.0 in the class and I'm a dumbass. He is so predictable.
His class was pretty striaght forward , as long as you do the homework you should be alright.
has a funny accent.....He uses problems from the homework nuff said, easy 3.0
Grade consists of 2 tests worth 100 points each. Final is 50% of end grade. Gave 10 questions on test, only 1 hour to do it. I have never seen the test questions before, and I did the homework. Previous remarks are wrong about easy 3.0. Not the case at all. I DO NOT recommend. He proves everything, you practically have to teach yourself.
Too thick an accent, didn't answer any questions, made typos without correcting them, and I'm still asking myself why he hasn't been struck down by lightning.
God, I hate Cahlon, or however you pronouce it. His tests are like nothing you have seen before and he wonderes why people are failing? HHmmm He's a smart one
The worst thing about Cahlon is the style of his tests. You cannot figure out or anticipate what will be on the test. Some of the questions are from left field. He'll always put a different spin on the question, something you have never seen before in homework. Get used to studying the material yourself, lecture is a waste.
The other comments are pretty correct. His tests are like nothing you have seen before, in homework or at SI. Average on 1st test was a 62 out of 120. Not good. He's not a bad guy persay, he's just a bad teacher. It's just that simple.
lectures from book, moves quickly, 1-2 sections covered per lecture. tests are difficult, final is 50% of total grade. you must keep up in the homework even though he wont collect it. overall, difficult but straight-forward class
Be prepared for death........Cahlon will cook you on his exams.
tests are purely conceptual, not much math. 10 problems per tests. no curve. alot of curve balls on the test. you have too understand the concept or your done for on the test. i would look for another teacher
My 2 cents: look for someone else. He is really a last resort. Lectures are all theory, no application, which makes the tests so difficult! The subject matter is not that hard, but he literally makes it hard. Although, 3D stuff is mind boggoling. His teaching style is brain-busting.
::frustrated scream:: His lectures: 100% word for word from the textbook. His tests: Out of left field and wraught with errors. His grading: random and merciless. I feel like I have no control over my grade in that class.
i cannot stress enough how bad of a teacher he is. other comments are true!! tests are extremely difficult and final IS worth 50% of grade, god cahlon is terrible. his lectures are a waste to go to. why are oaklands math teachers so very bad? why? can anyone answer me
tests are ridiculously hard, then he'll say "i thought it was easy" in class. ??? if you want to pass this class, do not take him, he will flunk you ~i'm not kidding
what did i do to deserve this? i'm in math hell and cahlon is the underworld king
his final spells certain doom for most of the students. i am at this moment, considering jumping off the SEB. i'm in calc 3, and had so many bad math teachers over the years, i hate math already.....i've grown to despise it.
other comments are right. about 2/3 of the class is outright failing. i dont understand. none of us are bad at math. he just really gives strange tests, thats the best word to describe the questions "strange". i'm really dissapointed with the math teachers at ou....i'm actually considering transfering to wayne state, being i'm a math major :(
Final is 50% of class, oh....and NO ONE passed the 1st two tests which were worth a 1/4 a peice. Thats it..thats your grade....a nice 1.6 or maybe a 1.7. great, i'm very frustrated with this teacher. studying the material seems to NOT help much for his tests. Where he gets his test questions is beyond me? :(
This guy gives the hardest tests in the world. I studied for hours on end for the final and I still failed it. I've always thought I was good at math... until I had this guy. He does a pretty bad job explaining the material and don't come to him with any questions because he'll just confuse you more.
Advice to future Oakland Grizzles. Do not take Math courses at OU. please!!!!! I was a A student in highschool, and I failed math! The exams are very difficult. The grade is based on your exams, thats it. nothing else. no assignment, no extra credit...This guy cant speak english well. Oakland math department is the worst in the world! Screw OU.
good luck if you have to take this bumbling pile of math. I know at least 3 guys that failed calc 7 with him, for 2 of them, it was their second time. What at bad teacher? I dont know what else to aay? OU's math is very bad...last comment is right
What a great class and prof. I will so much enjoy taking it all over again. Maybe you like taking classes twice, if you do, take Cahlon, he's great at sucking the energy out of you during lecture. YAE! I love OU's Math. Their MOTO: Try it once, try it again and pay twice, we dont care, we only hire the worst math teachers
destroyed my confidence and my interest in math spent tons of time studing to get a 2.5. just dont take him
This professor is very good. He is knowledgable and friendly. When students do poorly, he helps by adding points to everyone's score. I have read some of the other reviews and I don't think they are fair. I think people tend to blame the professor for their own lack of effort.
What are you talking about? hhhmmm? Cahlon NEVER adds points to any tests. I had him for Calc 1 and 3, you lie! For what reason, I am unsure of. He's a bad teacher, never gives examples and gives little partial credit. Your in calc 1, take it easy tough guy, it only gets harder
AWFUL!!!! As most of OU's Math Professors are. The lecture is absolutely pointless, you have to teach yourself. AVOID!! AVOID!!
does not care about the students or the class, reads right out of the textbook with no other explanation, grading is not made clear, tests are impossible, not available outside of class, doesn't even return emails, AVOID AT ALL COSTS
The worst prof ever!!!
Cahlon is hard to describe. On the con side, he reads out of the book, uses overly lengthy examples, has horrid handwriting, and is kinda odd. But he also doesn't take attendence and all the homework is EXTRA CREDIT, plus you can waive the final if you pass all of the tests. He really isn't that bad. I found MTH118 interesting and would definitely
No Comments
He is very hard to understand, his hand writting is horrible. everything is right out of the book. Also very boring......
a nice teacher...gives ALL students addtional 20 pt. on the 1st exam because the average is pretty low...but his teaching is very poor, basically just follow everything from the text books.. makes you think "Why I need a teacher when I can gain knowledge by myself from book?" but he answers your questions though~ not bad~
He is not as bad as people may think. He isn't too difficult to understand, and he helps us if we have a problem on a homework problem.
I liked Professor Cahlon. I took his math class (MTH122) over the summer semester and he made it pretty reasonable for the students to do well. We only had three exams and three quizzes and the last exam was not ****ulative. I've never really been good at math, but Professor Cahlon got me through calculus!
Very hard to understand. Russian, i think. Reads directly from the book, so there is no use buying one. Gives homework, but doesn't check. Long, drawn-out examples. Bad handwriting. Never understands his students questions, and struggles on adding simple things!
Very hard to understand. Russian, i think. Reads directly from the book, so there is no use buying one. Gives homework, but doesn't check. Long, drawn-out examples. Bad handwriting. Never understands his students questions, and struggles on adding simple things!
In Oakland's infamous math department, Cahlon is definitely one of your better choices. Teaches straight out of the book, which is actually pretty nice when it comes to studying. Very approachable for help outside class. He's not going to blow your mind, but he's certainly competent and willing to help you out.
Very nice guy. He is knowledgeable. Worthless lectures. He comes prepared, but gives a weak performance. He gets lazy: back to the class and stares at the board, fails to articulate and project his voice (mumbles with awkward english). He's approachable and speaks well in person, but a disaster communicating to a class. Vague about exam content.
Sort of hard to understand, sounds like the evil professor from the disney show phineas and ferb.lol. HE gives you problems to do but you dont ever have to do them!!! No homework. only has three test in the entire class. everything is by the book. takes alot of notes, but for the most part a good math class.
Hard to understand, horrible handwriting. He tries to guess what you are asking before you are finished with your question, then answers something completely irrelevent to what you are asking. Pretty tough grading, doesn't help you much with partial credit. Homework every day, lots of work.
foreign and goofy. lectures proofs more than he lectures what you need to know. just go to the SI and you'll be all set.
Cahlon has the most bipolar lecture styles I've ever seen. Some days he does a beautiful job while other days you wonder why you even bothered coming to class. If you're good at math and do all the homework you shouldn't have too much trouble.
Had a 3.2 prior to final. The final had three or more problems that we never went over..however gratefully passed
He did not do a great job at teaching, but wants all of his students to do well. His test are not hard by any stretch of the imagination, but you must study outside of class. Homework is sometimes very time consuming.
He is very hard to understand when he teaches and he doesn't explain things very well. Also, his homework is usually pretty hard, and only three problems out of the whole assignment are graded, and he of course doesn't tell you which ones.
Very hard to understand. Doesnt teach well at all. Tests and homework are very difficult because you basically have to teach yourself everything. Offers little help to his students, tho he claims to "want to see everyone do well". Not doing a very good job of accomplishing that buddy.
First off, he is really hard to understand and he repeats the same thing over at least three times. Secondly, I pointed out a mistake in the book and he said "who cares what it says"
He's got a sweet accent, but sometimes it's hard to understand. He's seriously the happiest person I've met though. He's always smiling!
I love this guy! He's awesome
Can't understand, notes are difficult, only reason I passed was from my supplemental class that he didn't even tell us about until after the first exam. He asks questions on things you won't be tested on but he still grades your homework for correctness. Avoid at all costs, worthless prof.
He is a great professor, although only people who study will like him. He will do his best for the students to get A, in fact he added 40 points exam (as extra credit) when he felt the class needed some curving. His teaching method is one of the best, I ever experienced. I ended up with A, but I studied 2-4 hours/week which is reasonable.
Worst professor I have ever had, useless due to his reading from the book and notes are a different wording of the book. He would not provide a review sheet at all, or spend review sessions going over questions. The only good is that he does not change any question from his exams to the final. He does not even make his own exams.
Funniest Guy at Oakland and I mean that. He is a really nice guy and very happy person. Ya you cant understand him sometimes, but just follow along in the book and do the hwk and you should be fine. Got a 3.4
Not a good class at all. The professor seems like a nice guy, but he doesn't help you much and is hard to understand at times. The notes he uses are word for word in the book, and I basically had to teach myself the material. Try to avoid this class if possible.
Don't take this class! I passed with a B and was at my wits end. Perfect attendance is basically mandatory. You will want to duck out of every class. Learning from the book is the only way to pass. The teacher is crazy.
Doesn't communicate well at all. Can't understand what he's saying and he doesn't answer questions.
NEVER take this professor. Ever.
I would highly recommend not taking this professor! I studied 3 times as much as all my other classes combined and still have not passed this class, exams are very difficult and you will basically have to teach yourself Calculus. Not very helpful at all, reads from the book and hard to follow his lectures. I learned more from the tutoring center..
I hate math, and I did very well in this class. We had about 10% of the class attend lectures and everyone was surprised when they did poorly on exams. His exam questions are very similar to past exam questions. Attend the class and do all the homework. Ask Cahlon to go over homework problems in class and he is helpful.
I've never written a review here but this guy is the worst professor I have taken. He never let's you know what to expect on exams and does not clearly answer questions. Studied more than I ever have and barely passed. Please avoid.
This professor is absolutely the worst professor i had. I have never failed a class before and this is the first time! He is hard to understand and he has no idea how to teach. Dont get me wrong he knows his stuff but he can not explain jack to students who have never taken this class before. His exams are ridiculously hard. Do not take! Im serious
Cannot explain simple topics. Copies everything off from the book. I had to study everything on my own, but because attendance was mandatory I had to waste time sitting there not understanding nothing. Avoid this teacher if possible!
Never write reviews but he was one of the worst professors I've had. Teaches word for word from the book while facing the board. Very hard to understand and confusing when trying to explain himself. Avoid this professor at all costs.
He is not an easy professor, and his grading is based almost solely on tests (fail one and you will probably fail the class). On the brighter side, his lectures are understandable and he will constantly drop hints about what is on the test.
Poor English. Homework collecting is messy.
Had no idea what my grade was all semester, the homework grades were completely confusing. The tests were all about economics story problems, so KNOW THOSE FORMULAS! He was hard to understand because of his accent, and his handwriting sucked. Generally not a bad teacher though, and he was very nice. He just doesn't teach this class so well.
1-2 hours of homework a night. Test are nothing like the homework. Must know the formulas. Hard to follow when he talks all class because of his accent.
Although he knows his math, he is hard to understand, always makes mistakes during his lectures, and his tests are NOTHING like the 3 hours of homework you receive. You must remember all of the formulas and you're not allowed to use a calculator or notes (OU math polices) on the test. Attend the SI and dedicate your time to calc 2 if you take him!
I have never studied for a class as much as I studied for his calc two class. I got a 3.9 and a certificate of merit for how well I did in calc 1. This class barely I made it out with a 0.0. I tried everything but couldn't make SI. Made me rethink my major though. I guess something good came from it.
While Prof. Cahlon may be looked down upon by other students, I personally had no trouble with him. And although he did make minor mistakes while doing the problems, they were nothing catastrophic. The only complaint I have is that he explained proofs like there was no tomorrow. Other than that, he provided examples and taught relatively well.
"Skip class? You wont pass" Welcome to college, ladies and germs. If you're deliberately skipping class you don't deserve to pass. Prof Cahlon is probably about your average professor. He'll keep you busy with hw, but tests are straightforward if you do the hw. In class, he does lots of examples but does proofs up the butt. Could be a lot worse
Not clear about grading criteria. Doesn't offer sample tests. Not willing to help students. Not clear about what the material will be. By far the worst math professor at OU. Lectures are hard to follow and full of information that is not helpful. Curveballs you on the test by testing on material he never taught.
He can be very difficult to understand. His lectures can be very confusing, and he does not answer questions well. Avoid taking if you can!!
Very hard to understand, Does alot of "useless" proofs. Grades more on your work on tests than the actual answers. Relied on my workshop professors and book to teach me, although I did learn alot from him.
Taking his class was by far my worse math experience ever. No consistency what so ever. The lectures don't match the homework. The homework does not match test. He doesn't teach math he just goes through notes and solves problem. DO NOT TAKE HIM.
I admit, he isn't the greatest professor, and he is unclear if you ask for help. I went to lecture a few times during the semester and it did not help. I began self studying and got a 100 on exam 3 and 91 on the final. Just make sure that you take a good workshop professor to help you out with questions.
Just don't take him.. please.
He definitely knows the subject but has a very hard time communicating the information to the students. If a question was asked in lecture it would almost never be answered. The tests were way more difficult than anything in the workshops and they were worth more than half your grade. So if you didn't test well you didn't do well overall.
It doesn't matter if you get 100% on the homework and quizzes in the workshop. Since there are only 3 harshly graded tests, if you do not do well on one, your grade will drop substantially. Not very difficult, just hard to understand him. Also some test questions are worth over 20% of the test even if it is a small problem, could be good or bad....
Explains things poorly and in a confusing way. Often makes mistakes when teaching which is obvious as his lectures are straight from the book. On top of that, he often ignored questions from students.
Doesn't look up from his paper the entire lecture. Has no clue how to answer students' questions because he never does it. No idea how he made it through school writing and talking the way he does but somehow he became a professor at an American University. Don't take this guy, but I guess at OU you don't have much of a choice.
Just rambles on, making the questions/ problems harder than what they actually have to be. At the moment I am begging God just for a C just to pass the class.
If I could have put 0's for the ratings I would. The is one of the worst teachers I've ever had. I feel bad for saying this because he truly cares for his students and loves teaching but he is awful. Heavy accent. Does problems too quick. No explanation.
Ignores students. Is unclear in lecture. Reads from pre-printed lectures, doesn't explain why it what is going on. I.e. "this is x thing. We see here x thing is done with y number yes? Y number is reaaaaly easy. Y number in x thing super easy that's it!" Then hands go up, he says one more minute, then ignores students for the rest of lecture.
MTH 141 is a tough course no matter what professor you have at Oakland. While he is hard to understand and alone in his own little world while lecturing he really cares about the students. He sent me a personal email when I did significantly better on my second exam congratulating me. Better teacher than Barry Turret if have to pick.
Very hard to understand in class. He will start ranting and get something wrong and continue with the wrong things.
you have to take the workshop along with this class which is 100x more helpful than his lectures. Honestly the lectures were pointless except on exam days of course but all homework and quizzes were given in the workshop. He's pretty difficult to understand but his exams weren't extremely difficult
The worst professor I've ever had. He keeps his back to the class the entire lecture, the lecture is dry and difficult to understand, and it is almost entirely proofs. It is impossible to anticipate what is going to be on the tests and his grading is harsh and unclear. The only positive about him is that he's a nice guy, just a bad lecturer. Avoid.
Reads right from the book. Grade is only based on exams. Exam questions all require proofs, almost verbatim from the book . When I went to office hours to dispute a typo that changed the problems meaning his exact words were, "In math English doesn't matter". Well sure, it doesn't matter if you don't include word problems on exams. Which he did.
Cahlon is an extremely bad professor. This is the first time I've seen someone turn their back the whole time and not understand how to run class or answer questions. Bottom line don't take him. It also doesn't help that linear algebra is abstract as it is and he doesn't at least let us use our books on exams when he doesn't explain anything well.
Be Me About to take final exam Not totally confident, but hopefully Exam gets passed out I open the exam to find questions asking for complete proofs of theories But wait there is more 40 percent of the exam is 'finish the definition problems' I fill out every proof, definition, and problem I ended up with 31 percent DO NOT TAKE.
Lectures are weak, tries to engage with students and fails because he does it maybe three times in a 90 minute lecture. Rambles on with proofs, get's his own examples wrong, writes problems down wrong. Flat out skipped some stuff. Cannot manage his time whatsoever. I'd advising self-learning out of the book.
Just don't take him, avoid his class at all costs
The worst math teacher I have ever had. Went from 100% in Calc 1 to 70% with this man. He doesn't take the time to explain things, basically plagiarizes the book's proofs for "lectures", and when he lectures he talks to the board.
Professor Calhon is a nice a professor, but he is a horrible at teaching the material, his lectures don't help you the subject, really lengthy hw that doesn't encourage students to learn the material, and his writing is horrible. His exams are very hard and he grades harshly. I don't recommend taking him.
Never take this professor! He does not explain anything and he grades to fail you!
Cahlon is quiet, hard to understand, and makes frequent mistakes in his lectures. Doing the homework is a good way to learn the material so I did most of the learning for this class on my own. I would be completely lost if it weren't for Khan Academy and the SI instruction after class. Not a good prof if you struggle with math.
I had enrolled in his class and attended all SI sessions and was completely lost. I had to learn the majority of the material on my own; although I did receive some help from the SI. Everyone was confused. He is a generally kind professor but an awful teacher. Plenty of other great professors to take a pre-calc with.
Good professor i would've got a better grade if i was actually good at math. Strong accent so I zoned out a lot
Very nice but hard to understand at times. He also constantly wrote the wrong number down while teaching and had to be corrected by a student. There is homework every night which is graded by a random grader who had a weird grading system. All in all the class is pretty easy if you show up every day, do the homework well and do good on 2 exams.
Tough guy to follow in lectures. His handwriting is bad and he has a tough accent to follow. I took him for Calc 2 and had already taken AP Calc BC in high school. I was learning the same material but didnt understand what was going on. Highly recommend finding a different professor.
awful professor, just talks and doesnt explain anything and expects you to understand. you have to go home and teach yourself everything, his handwriting is atrocious and he gets the problems wrong, he copies everything out of the book.
Took him over summer. Calc 2 is tough, but his tests were very, very straight-forward. Those who complain about the tests are flat-out bad students. Homework took a good minute but they help you stay up with the class. If you study, you will absolutely pass, and, might even get that sweet A.
He's a cute, little, old man. He has an accent but it's not to bad. When he gives lectures he doesn't pay attention to the class it's hard to ask questions during lecture but it's precalculus so it's not that hard. The lectures are based on the book and kind of confusing but it's okay. Homework is easy not a lot of problems.
Hes a sweet old man who really can not hear worth a crap. If you ask questions he will not understand or will explain the wrong thing. He knows what he is talking about but definitely has a hard time with his hearing. Try to sit at the front so you can hear better. There is a curve at the end. He gives effort to the class but struggles due to age
Easily the worst professor I have ever had in my life. I did well but I had to work harder than ever and I had to teach myself the material. His lectures don't make any sense and his notes are sloppy. Going to class does not help your learning at all but attendance is part of your grade so even if it is a complete waste of time you still have to go
All around terrible professor, never in a million years would I recommend him to anyone. Heavy accent and terrible handwriting. Never does practice problems and only gives definitions. Good luck emailing him, he never responds to emails, the only way to get ahold of him is in class.
First of all his lecture notes are just scans of stuff he wrote on a notebook with horrible handwriting and unhelpful explanations of the class material. Your grade relies heavily on exams. If you take him prepare to teach yourself the class and don't even bother asking if you're stuck , he'll just dodge your questions.
It was impossible to reach this professor outside of class, 14 emails not replied to. Grades were based on 2 midterms and 1 final, the final being worth 50% Thick accent, awful handwriting. Avoid taking this professor.
Had Cahlon for Fall 2020 semester. Clear notes but he broke his hand before the semester started so his notes looked a lil dirty. Once you do the homework, the tests should be straightforward. Exam 2 is a cake walk since its the linear algebra stuff. Exams were live and ngl, it took FOREVER TO GET EXAM FEEDBACK. He curves if you show improvement
I will update this later bc this is a premature rating early in the class but most of the other reviews are spot on. Cahlon is an older man and he is very nice and sweet. But from a teaching standpoint, it's bad. Confusing lectures, bad handwriting, strong accent. He doesn't teach anything, rather goes over premade notes. I have to learn myself atm
Worst professor i ever had. Heavy accent cant understand him. Sloppy writing. Doesn't respond to emails or anything. I do not recommend this horrible professor
Worst professor I've ever had. The lectures are so dry & boring; he waters down the pre-chapter notes & just talks over them, doesn't teach anything. On my test mistakes all his feedback was "NO!"/"Not Clear!" or "X" & took tons of points off w/o 1 expl./correction for help. No clear grading criteria. Tons of HW. Avoid like the plague, TRUST me...
Seems like a nice guy but his teaching style was confusing. Lectures were hard to understand and when youd ask a question he wouldnt really answer it. Almost always lectures will run longer and he grades tests hard. Your grade is based on your exams and review days were terrible.
How bad can it really be?. Trust me; BAD! Despite being kind, this professor is awful. Loads of HW and only some of the types of problems done are on the exams. The final exam was miles different than the review. Boring lectures that only go over proofs. Unclear grading criteria. No practice problems. Never gives clear answer to Qs. Must avoid.
Cahlon is the reason why i have to drop and retake this class. Heavy accent, horrible horrible handwriting, doesnt reply to emails, cant teach, reads everything off the book. Seriously, i look at his notes and am LOST. I feel bad considering hes very caring and respectful. Youre better off watching organic chemistry tutor on youtube.
Hes the worst Professor Ive ever had. 80% of the time you cant understand what hes saying because of his super thick accent. The entire class time he goes over notes which look like they were written by a 3rd grader and are so hard to understand. Whenever students ask him questions he never answers correctly. I doubt anyone has ever gotten an A
Try to take somebody else for APM2555. He's a nice guy and seemingly approachable, but there's a language barrier that makes answering questions difficult for him. His handwriting is somewhat difficult to read at times. The only grades in this class are the three exams. He doesn't curve the exams, but he does curve at the end, which helps.
