As a direct product of the CCNY Psych program himself, Prof. Malam is really there to make sure that you actually understand the material in order to pass. Hes very helpful but if you have questions ask during or right after class. go to office hours.

Prof. Malam is a great teacher. Psychology was the first College Now course I've taken, and he left a good impression. I would take this course again, he made the lessons interesting, and I learned a lot from him.

There have been many resources available tutors, in-case I didnt understand something. Although I met with Emily once, she was absolutely amazing. Professor Malam was very clear about what he wanted from his students at the beginning of the course, and if anyone felt like they could not deliver they could always talk to him.

I like his class! Although I wasnt able to be 100% in the calls due to other maters he understood and even recorded the class. Before our final he had a week of free spots that you can schedule a meeting with him, hes really chill and a nice person. Really glad to have him wished I was more engaged in class.

I took Prof. Bassit's PSY 10200, an introductory psychology class, and I couldn't be more grateful to have gotten to take it with him. Due to the pandemic the class was made virtual, but he really engaged us: through live classes, discussion posts, and generously preparing pre-exams for us to practice on. Professor Malam was an amazing teacher for this Intro to Psych course, which was fully online this semester. He has understandable lectures that always provide real world examples, and how it can apply to all of our lives. Attendance is a must, but if you can't make it, send an email. This course is easy to pass if you complete your work on time.

Prof. Malam was very outgoing and was energetic when giving a lecture. He would always apply real world problems to what we were learning for us to better understand. He gave good comments on discussion posts and doesn't grade harshly. He would extend extra time due some technical difficulties, and was always available when needed to be.

Here is a suggestion, you can better work on the syllabus. The syllabus is a useful tool, but the types of textbook changed the chapter name did not match what the syllabus had. It would have been beneficial for the student if there were two days of classes rather than just one. The scheduling of assignments makes it confusing.

He is very fair when it comes to grading, like he even tells the students to let him know if he made any mistakes. He also asks if we understood, and would pause for questions every couple of slides. He likes to crack jokes here and there. Tries to and I feel like actually does a solid job at making the content interesting to learn.

The class would be less enjoyable if you as a teacher did not entertain us by showing us videos, making good/funny analogies and decent jokes. This teacher was greatly respected because of how fair he was and he respectful towards others. The class may have been very lecture heavy but it allowed us to learn our best.

I was fortunate to Have Professor Bassit over the fall Semester. He. is very kind and makes sure that we are absorbing the materials. As long as you do the work you should get a good grade.

This was online, winter sem. so the lectures were pretty hefty due to the 3-week time frame. Regardless, this prof is very compassionate and funny!

This is my 2nd class w/ Prof Bassit. 1st, during a regular Spring semester and this 2nd time was an online 4-week summer course. Each time he is amazing, enthusiastic, gives great examples, is fair/understanding (but make sure you hand things in on time/keep him informed if an emergency happens). He's just a really great professor/ a gem @ CCNY.

Literally my favorite professor. 4 multiple reasons. He makes class fun, uses A+ examples to explain really complex processes. I remember almost everything he taught me from 2 classes ago on Group Therapy. I'm graduating, so I can't take his classes anymore, but he's the best, so I'd take more classes with him if I still had time! A real GEM 💠

I was lucky to learn from Prof. Malam in two courses this semester. What an outstanding professional and human being. Class is so fun; we often run out of time, enjoying every second, learning, and engaging in ways that prioritize learning. Respectful, fair, student-learning-target-oriented, with clear grading levels. I enrolled with him again.
