Reviews (300)
She's very easy to understand and helps students understand material. Tests have up to ten extra credit points and are exactly like the reviews. Weekly hw and quizzes get time consuming, but she drops a few in the end. You must go to class for poppers, and they're really easy poppers.
Constance was a pretty good math teacher, i got a B in the class but i didn't really try because it was algebra and i took it as a blow off. if you do all your homework, quizes and show up for poppers and at least make a 70 on all your test you should get a b and be exempt from the final. she drops grades at the end too which is good!
She's very easy to understand & is willing to answer any in class questions. Keep track of quiz dates bc they can't be made up, & take the practice tests bc they count as extra credit & are very similar to the actual tests.. Poppers are given each class so attend each one if you can. Barely did any homework & still managed an A-.
Need to do assignments and go to class if you're not good at math. Daily poppers over material. Can get up to 10 extra credit points each test. The Professor is good at explaining the material and giving examples. Highly recommended!
I had her for Math 1310 3 semesters ago. She was awesome then and awesome now. She broke everything down but I will say this that GGB was a life saver. Don't be afraid to ask her for help she will help you and more importantly she's AWESOME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I love love love Prof. Constante! Best math teacher I've ever had. I took the online class and it was by far the easiest course of my semester. As long as you go to her lectures (you don't even have to pay a lot of attention) you'll get a guaranteed understanding of the course and will most likely get an A. Definitely recommended.
You have to be there for class or you will fall behind, but she's down there in the trenches with you. She wants you to pass, she really does. So helpful, so patient, stayed after to answer questions and showed you exactly how it was done. Problems were very similar many times to what you were supposed to do. Would take her again if I needed to.
Honestly math is an easy subject for me and this class was a breeze. I forgot a couple of these lessons from high school and she taught me an easier way than I had learned to figure out the problems. She puts notes up on her website and you have to buy a code to do anything with the class.
Also took her for 1310 and had to come back on here to tell how much I love her!!! I took her for a winter mini session, which was a month long, and she was helpful during her online tutor sessions. The lectures were recorded and posted onto the site. She clearly explained everything and the work was easy.
Took her winter minimester pre-cal class. I'm okay at math but went in to this course terrified! A semester's worth of material covered in 12 lectures... Eek! The way she teaches is crystal clear. Made an A- thanks to her. Some of the quizzes are hard, but her reviews are spot on with her tests. Excellent math professor! Wish she taught cal 1-3 :(
If you need to take any math course, take her. She breaks this stuff down like it ain't nothing! Out of all my math professors here, she was the best! She is very clear and if you need her to repeat it, she will try to clear it up as best as she can! Amazing!
I had Professor Constante for college algebra and it was an overall pleasant semester. If you pay attention to the work and keep up with the assignments you'll be fine. The quizzes have 20 attempts so there's good chances of you getting 100. However if you accidentally miss a test or quiz it can be hard, but not impossible, to make up for it.
TAKE CONSTANTE! I took her college algebra class. She's super nice & speaks very clearly. Her notes are very organized as well as her website. Takes attendance (poppers) but it's only 6 easy problems that you can do wpartner. She also drops a ton of your lowest grades. I wish she taught all math classes at UH. Would definitely take her again. (:
Professor Constante is amazing! Her website is very organized and her notes are clear. First math class online and I loved it, she made it very understandable. She also replies to emails fast if you have questions. Take Constante for any math!
she's awesome!! took her for finite and currently taking her for business calc! i suck at math and she has made it a breeze!! take her for all your math classes if you can you won't regret it. she's organized, really helpful and is easy to follow. attendance is taken by poppers and part of your grade so show up to get an easy part of your grade.
Very straightforward and easy to understand. If you're not bad at math, this course should be relatively easy (it was a breeze for me). If math's not your thing, she makes herself very available for office hours help.
Professor Constante was a great professor! Very friendly and helpful. Her lectures were clear and would answer any questions you had. I highly recommend her and if I had anymore math courses I would take her again.
Only suggestion with taking this online is that you DO NOT get to opt out of the final. Poppers are online but if you cannot make it then alt assignments to complete and can watch the recordings. Overall I love her because she really clarifies things in her videos. Definitely recommend her but don't slack since its easy to get lost while learning.
Professor C is really nice and understanding. She gives extra credit up to 10 points before each test including the final. The final is exactly like the practice exam so if you pay attention and do the practice exams you get extra credit AND get good grades on the tests! Would def take her again!
Professor Constante is a wonderful instructor for MATH 2311. Her lectures were clear and organized, and the homework reflected the notes. Like any other math class, there are online quizzes, poppers, and EMCFs. She is very helpful and tests are similar to the practice exams. If you take notes and study them, you should be able to make a good grade.
One of the best teachers at UH. She really helps a student fall in love with Maths. Business Calculus is not that hard but she makes it a lot easier than other teachers. Her exams are just like the practice exams which are counted towards extra credit. Lot of homework and alternate assignments but she is really helpful so it really doesn't matter.
I HATE MATH! But thanks to Professor Constante I managed to understand math and not hate it too much. She does go very fast but she is there for you when you are stuck and answers questions. I have always struggled with math but I got a B+ with her, and managed to get exempt from the final! If you struggle in math like me, please take her!
She is clear, concise, and explains everything in great detail. Go to class everyday because there will be 'poppers' every class for attendance purposes. I'm horrible at math, but was able to get an A. You can opt out of the Final if you have a 'B' or higher in the class.
I took Constante during a winter mini so you would expect that things flew by. She was so slow. Which for some people is great don't get me wrong, but for someone who is quick to pick up on topics her lectures just dragged on. Take her if you need things explained well, and maybe well again.
She is an amazing professor!! Took her for a summer session & couldn't be any happier that I did. She made things crystal clear. Math is not my strong point but she was willing to answer any questions & ended up making an A+ in the class. HIGHLY RECOMMEND TAKING HER!!!!!!
Stats is quite difficult, but this is seriously the best professor to take for this course. The clear notes, her lecture style, hw and quizzespractice tests are super helpful for the exams. She's willing to go the extra mile to make sure you understand the material. If you don't go to class or do the required work, you obviously won't pass
Best math teacher I have ever had. She explains things so well and so clearly. The way she teaches, her homework, practice tests, quizzes are so, so helpful! I would happily take her class again. I would want to have her teach all my math courses! If you want the best chance of getting an A in whatever math class you have, take her class!!!!!
Great teacher for math courses at UH. She goes at a fair pace and answers questions thoroughly. Extremely helpful.
Really great professor. Covers everything at an easy pace. It may be boring for those that already know calc but she covers everything from head to toe in full details. Really helpful. Practice for this class and you'll definetely get an A. If only she did calc 2, I would take her again. Just don't forget to do the homework and practice exams.
Really great math professor especially if you're not a Math type person like myself. She breaks down everything and makes it very easy to follow. All the HW's are simple as well as the quizzes and poppers. Tests are easier than expected, and the practice tests give you extra credit if you take them. She's really kind, sweet, and easy to talk to.
She's a lecturerer not a "teacher". Her notes are fill in the blank. Tests are like the reviews. Hw and quizzes follow the notes and are taken when ever you want. (Open book quizzes) Extra Credit all the time! Literally just show up. Take notes. Do hw quizzes and practice tests and you'll pass PAY ATTENTION TOO!!
She is an amazing professor. She uses the best teaching strategies. I loved her class! You can get exempt from the final!
Even though I'm not a math person, especially online, she broke down so many things that made life easier in this class. There was not one thing I didn't get because she'd always answers my questions. There's no such thing as dumb questions. Uses a program called Geogebra & I would've died without it. She responded to emails fairly quick!
Very clear in lectures with accessible and easy-to-read notes (beautiful handwriting). Will do her best to clarify everything and help everyone understand the material. Super sweet. She goes over everything so you don't need the online textbook.
there r 4 tests and u can exempt from taking the final if you r satisfied with ur grade. the tests r pretty easy as long as u r familiar with the practice tests. Do them. 10% of practice tests r added to each test. there r a lot of hw n pop quizzes. be self-discipline if you r taking it online. u use a software program on the tests
This is THE best teacher I've ever had!! Plenty of extra credit oppurtunities available and she drops a portion of homework and poppers at the end of the semester! I had a B+ going into the opt-out period and after the drop I ended up with an A! She also uses Geogebra which makes everything super easy so definitely take her.
THE BEST MATH TEACHER EVER. Her lectures are easy to follow/understand. The notes are exactly like the homeworks, quizzes, and tests. She offers extra credit and drops a certain amount of homework and poppers at the end of the semester. I wish I could have her as my teacher for every math course. Definitely would recommend her!
She is the best math professor I've had. Helpful and very nice. I would recommend her to anyone.
She is wonderful and makes everything so clear. TAKE HER
Good professor but lectures are a bit rushed at least I felt that way (not the smartest or quickest at math). Sometimes her notes don't clarify the subject matter or are even wrong but they are very neat and organized. If you're confused I'd highly recommend going to casa tutoring. Keep up with the hw, quizzes, etc and you'll do good. Got a 4.0.
This class was really easy. Prof was very helpful during lectures. I felt that she went beyond the lecture setting and helped anyone whenever. The content can be a bit hard at times, but she helped you in every way possible. Only if she did calc 2 that wouldve been great. Would take again.
Prof Constante clearly explains all of the concepts during lecture and she makes clear what will be on the test. There is a lot of homework involved, as with any math class, but she gives extra credit opportunities for every test (even the final), so there is no reason not to make an A.
By far one of the easiest classes I have taken throughout college. If you fail this class, you might want to take some time and sit down and truly think about your future. Ask yourself if what you are currently doing is what is destined for you; you yourself and not anybody else.
Everything she teaches in her lectures are there on the tests. She thoroughly explains concepts so if you've never seen it you'll be fine. Gives extra credit that is applied on the exams. If you do all your hw, show up to class and lab, and get good test scores you should get an A.
Great professor for Cal, explained everything well and clearly. Definitely take her class!
She explains all of the concepts very thoroughly in a way that is easy to understand. She makes sure that everyone understands a concept before moving on. Also, the way the grading is structured makes it very easy to get an A in the class. I have no regrets.
Calc is a pretty hard subject to enter into college w/ but Constante explained everything very well and made sure you understood it. She's easy to ask for help. Her notes were simple and her lectures are A1. Would definitely take her again.
Professor is very patient and helpful. Will answer any questions you might have. And lectures are clear and easy to follow. 3 major tests were short and easy made A's on all of them. Homework is short. You can exempt from the final of you have an 80 or above average. I would take again and again :) best math professor at UH so far
Best Math class I have ever taken, she is awesome. Responded to all my questions via email. 3 Test, 1 Final (exempt if average was above a B). Theres a lot of homework but you really learn. Weekly quizzes and homework. Just stay on top of it and you do fine. I made and A, only class I have ever made strait 100's on all the test.
I took her Fall 2015 and got an A. She explains things so clearly! Kindly stops and explains any question if you're confused. Will go by problems w/ many baby steps so you're not confused. If you stay on top of the quizzes and homework, you'll be absolutely fine! Just take her! I love her so much. Wished she taught Cal 2.
She's very clear and helpful and posts her notes online. Tests are a lot easier than quizzes and homework. Expect a lot of quizzes and homework (26 quizzes in semester, weekly homework), but it's a 4 credit hour class so that's expected. Note: Only put a 3 for easiness cause Calc is not an easy A but is really easy to pass with a C or above.
She is great at explaining problems to you. Do the pre-tests and you will do fine on her tests. She also gives opportunities for extra credit and cares about her students. Take her!
Best math teacher ever! I only gave her a 3 in easiness because it is very heavy workload, but if you do the HWs and quizzes, the tests will be super easy!
I took her online 1314 class and it was a ridiculous work load. Sometimes we'd have 4 homeworks due, a pop quiz, and an actual quiz due the same week as the rest of our exams. However, she is available for questions, she is pretty good about explaining topics and her practice tests are spot on for preparing you for the actual exams. Good experience
She was always willing to help you on anything that you might be stuck on! Took her pre-cal class during a winter session which was a lot of material to cover but thanks to her it was a breeze but you have to apply yourself.
Professor Constante is the epitome of what a college math professor should be. She is really clear on the concepts she teaches and will be willing to help you if you are stuck on something. Would definitely take again if I could.
I took this class twice I got a c+ the first time and that was all mee. I failed because I was not doing what was I supposed to do. Second time around I did everything and I got and A+. I retook this class with constante. She was also the first teacher I took it with. Class attendance is taken. Weekly hw/quizzes. Extra 5 points for each exam.
She explains her lectures very good, yet does not go over some challenging questions similar to the tests. If you aren't very good with math, she will help you out along the way if you go to her, do not rely on the T.A.'s they do not help, most of them. She also puts videos online if you want to hear her lectures again, very helpful.
Clear notes and clear reviews. Most of the content on the reviews are similar to the actual tests. Be sure to keep up with your homework and quizzes. I recommend taking an online lab. Don't be afraid to ask questions during lectures! She will clarify.
she's a good teacher. i was kind of scared about doing calculus but she made everything clear and straightforward. we also have access to her online class notes so there we can go over recorded lectures, that was really helpful.
easy A class! Plus she's an amazing teacher. Very helpful! Would def take again.
She's a very good teacher. She explains everything clearly and willing to help when you have questions or problems. I take online class and rarely need to read the book.
I lack math skills to say the least, which is why I left my math courses until the very end of my degree. Based on what I read on this website I knew I had to take Ms. Constante, and it paid off. She explained everything so well and all her online classes were recorded. Someone like me, I work full-tim and it was critical that I study on my own
Very talented teacher with years of experience. The class isnt easy in terms of material being easy, she just makes it easy as long as you attend!
She makes math seems so simple and clear. Her lecturers are very easy to understand. The same amount of hw that any other calculus teacher gives..
She is a very good teacher and explains everything so clear. I would definitely recommend her for anybody.
Took her online class. The lectures are recorded and won't penalize you for missing them. You HAVE to watch them or you will miss poppers and understanding of the entire lesson. In lectures she will explain until everyone gets it while at the same time keeping up with the time restraint. Has two homework assignments every week, but they are easy.
Love this teacher! Her lecture are easy to understand since she does most part step by step. There a lot of homework but they durable and easy to do. She'll answer your question and help you understand it.
Pretty easy just go to class to do poppers. You can exempt the final with a B- or above and she drops alot of grades. Almost everything is done through Geogebra which is like a calculator so its so fing easy
Constante is a clear, thorough teacher. She makes calculus seem like a piece of cake with the methods she provides. She helps with the poppers and loves to answer any questions, even after class. I love the clarity with which she teaches. The quizzes are sooo easy and the tests resemble the review and notes so you're good. WOULD TAKE AGAIN FOR SURE
taking bus calc and it's the easiest math I've ever taken. I have a b- but only bc I missed a lot of classes &a few homeworks, & one quiz. There are daily poppers so it is important to go to class. But if you didn't go to class then the notes she posts online are very helpful. HW is easy, tests are less than 20 questions, extra credit for tests.
Highly recommended professor. Her classes are extremely helpful.
decent
I took Professor Constante's course online, and I do not regret it not one but. She is such an excellent professor and makes her material and lectures very clear! She makes her class fair. Make sure to keep up with her quizzes and homework and you will be set! Definitely recommend her!
I LOVED THIS PROFESSOR, she is concise with her work! This is my second time taking this course since I didn't do so hot the first time around and I passed with flying colors because of her! I prefer to learn how equations work and work out each part piece by piece in every kind of scenario; her teaching is just like that! Just keep up&don't skip.
Easy class, just pay attention or review notes posted. Offers lots of extra credit. Typical math course and work load. She's great, answers questions and takes time to make sure you understand the lesson.
Loved her! She also does online tutoring, take advantage of that. In and out side of the class she's very helpful!
Amazing teacher, she's really sweet and patient and even though the course was online she still took the time to get to know us and interact. She was detailed and clear cut, very hard to fail her class, she genuinely made me enjoy math.
I took her for stats over the summer and that was probably the best decision I made by far since I've gone to UH. Take good notes, review them, and you'll pass! Don't hesitate to ask questions. Fairly easy exams if you pay attention in lecture. I keep recommending all my friends to take her. She's awesome!
Took the entire class online in 1 month during a "mini session." If you have taken calculus before it will be an easy A+. Work was generally easy and everything is done on a calculator, even Test. However, if you are not familiar with calculus you will need to pay attention to the lectures. She is very nice and caring and will help you if you ask!
She is a good teacher, but the course is hard. I took IB calc last year and still struggled in this course. There are so many online due dates, so DON'T FORGET them. Calc lab is really boring and you will have a written quiz in Lab every Friday. Besides that 2 online quizzes are also due weekly. No calculator is allowed ever. Gives poppers Daily.
She made this class easy. I am not a math person, yet I understood everything. She even posts all of her online lectures, which really helps if you don't understand something. The quizzes and the tests reviews are VERY similar to the tests. Everything is explained very clearly and all material is covered in class. Would take again in a heartbeat.
It's not an easy class, there's a lot to learn but she makes it easy and understandable. If there's something you don't understand or have a question during class, there's no shame in doing so. She made the lessons so clear that I was able to receive a 110 on one exam and a 100 on the final. HIGHLY recommend.
She is one of the best math professors at UH! She explains each lecture thoroughly and she is helpful both inside and outside of class. I took her course online and it was the best decision I made. There are many quizzes (20 attempts each), practice exams (Extra Credit Opp for exam), and hw each week. It seems overwhelming, but it's an easy A.
Take her! Math has never been my subject but ended the class with a 100. 10% poppers, 10% homework, 10% quizzes, 3 tests worth 15% each. 10 points EC available for each test. Final replaces lowest test grade, or you can opt-out if you have at least a B. If you're having trouble just go to the tutoring center, she was so much help!
My highest level of math ever completed was Pre Cal in HS, so it was my 1st semester at college learning Calc. Constante is an AMAZING lecturer, it was so easy to understand. She's also available for tutoring. All I can say is that Calc was not easy for me so I put in a lot of effort. If you love math and/or already taken Calc, you'll be fine.
She's a great professor, I would recommend her 100%. I thought I was going to make a C in the class but I put in the effort and ended with an A (Final really helped) Don't be lazy and do the work, go to lectures(poppers) and you'll be fine. She explains concepts very well and has online tutoring and at CASA.
Second time taking this professor, love her so much! Very clear lecturer and gives plenty of opportunity to get help outside of class if you need it.
LOVE LOVE LOVE HER. She's super nice, the tests were 20 questions and it was as simple as the test reviews. Just do your assignments and your weekly discussion posts! You have to buy the code for the class, but nothing else. Her lectures were very clear, simple, and easy to understand.
Amazing professor. She explains the material very clearly and makes it easy to understand. She posts her completed notes online after lecture so if you miss class or miss something in the notes, it's easy to catch up. Up to 10 extra credit points are possible on all tests if you do the practice tests. Attendance is taken with popper questions.
I had Ms. Constante for Stats and thought she did a very good job presenting the material and being accessible to answer questions. The class is just really easy though and there is way too much extra credit (which makes it even easier). Easy 'A'.
Good teacher and good lecturer, will go out of her way to help with review/etc. Class is extremely easy, do the quizzes/HW you should get an A.
She's a great professor. She's understanding and makes things easy to understand. Loved her! Would definitely take again!
Although I say class is mandatory, I only say that because she gives popper questions everyday that you have to be present for to get the points. That's the only reason I ever went to class. She posts all the filled out notes online so you really don't have to go to understand the material. She is detailed and does a good job with lectures though.
Everything is clear cut, very easy to understand and answers any question in class. Final is optional if you have B or better. Easy A if you pay attention.
really good professor, great at explaining things and very clear. Tries to make things as easy as possible for students to understand. gave a lot of homework but it was not too hard. she gives poppers and attendance is part of the grade. not too nice to those who need help but miss a lot of class, so always try to be there even if you're late !
Was a really great teacher, she will literally take you step by step, I got an easy A by alot
10/10 Recommend. She has her own notes provided, great step-by-step lectures! Review session are really useful. HW often but easy and textbook is provided. She is one of the best profs i've had so far! Im even taking her again.
I HATE Math classes! But somehow I really liked this class. Lectures are easy to understand plus they are the notes she has posted but she goes through them in detail in class. Quizzes you can take up to 20 times. 10 points extra toward exam grades if you do the reviews and make a 100. TAKE HER! Like seriously, TAKE HER! You will not regret it!
Professor Constante is amazing! Her lectures are extremely detailed and she does a lot of example problems. There are online quizzes that you can take up to 20 times, online electronic multiple choice homework, and written homework every week. Extra credit is offered on exams and for doing the practice tests. Very easy class if you put in the work.
Best Math Professor Ever!! She explains everything very clearly and tries her best to answer questions! I passed her class with an A and I'm horrible at math! I would definitely take her again
Easiest class I've taken in college so far. She is very clear on her lectures and the tests are super easy. The tests are basically the same material as the practice test. The practice test is optional but if you do it you get extra credit. My raw grade in this class was 99.7
Professor Constante is the best Calculus teacher out there hands down. Whether your math skills are poor or superior, she WILL teach you and you WILL learn. Her lectures are very clear while her notes are organized by sections and thus easy to follow. She does plenty of guiding examples and is definitely not boring to listen to. Just do the work.
Great, respectable professor. There are so many resources provided. Thourough and detailed CASA page. She is extremely organized and very concise when teaching the material. Makes the subject even easier to understand. I would definitely recommend taking her course in many subject. She also offers online tutorials for those who can't go to CASA.
There are poppers so you'll want to go to class for that. Make sure you have an RStudio compatible computer because it makes stats so easy, Ti84 works too. Really easy to follow lectures so pay attention and take notes. I never paid attention in class, just watched the online videos and taught myself and got 80s on my exams. EMCF, HWs, and Quizzes.
She's so nice and will help you whenever you need it. There's 2 assignments and one quiz each week. If you do the practice test, it gives you 10 extra points so make sure you do that. Overall, she's an amazing professor.
I have never met a more overrated professor. Most of the reviews given about her seem to be severely biased. Her lectures only help a select few people, otherwise be prepared to self-study (which renders her job obsolete, go figure). Class interaction is limited at best.
Professor Constante is amazing, super nice and goes the extra mile for her students. Do not be afraid to ask questions she will not embarrass you. I have taken college algebra 3 times and still have a D, however, I got a 103 in this calculus class. You get to use a program called Geoagebra and is super easy to learn. Excellent class!
Take her for every math class you ever have! Her class was my first online class at UH for math & math was never my strong suit in any way, but she teaches at a good pace, super helpful & nice. I'm sad that I can't take her for math next yr. There's HW,quizzes, poppers, 4 tests (opt out final). LOVE HER !!!!! She is awesome I guarantee it.
I had her online but she would give live lectures at 7 on MoWe so you can ask her questions right then and there. Her notes are available online so you can print them out and work on them while she's live. Easy homework, poppers, and tests. Geogebra is your best friend!
I already took calc in high school so this was a breeze. I dont think i ever studied for more than 10 minutes for my tests. Only went to one online lecture the whole semester.
I am horrible at math, so taking business calc scared me. Her lectures were short and clear and she thoroughly explained HW examples. Her tests were hard but the way the class is set up for you to pass. Make good quiz grades because they're extra credit. She drops quizzes & HW grades and the final is optional if you're making a B. Highly recommend
It has been a while since high school where I last took a math class, but this prof was really good about reviewing a lot of the rules. She has a great teaching style - very clear! Even I, with my weak background in math, was able to get a decent grade in the course. Wish she had more classes I could take. You should definitely take her if you can!
If math is not your strong suit. Look for another professor, not willing to help and expects you to be able to help yourself.
After taking several Math courses at UH, I have to say that this was the best one I ever had. So clear, organized. I wish she taught more classes!
Calculus is hard in general if you didn't take it in high school. She isn't that bad but she skips a bunch of steps/rules and she automatically thinks everyone gets it. This class is a lot of work and you have to review notes after each class to really make sure you understand. plusHer tests are 2x as hard as her practice tests which is annoying.
She always posts homework and test review on time. I love her
Prof Constante is awesome! I've been doing great in her precal class and she is always very helpful and posts her practice tests on time. She does a good job explaining things in class. This is coming from a person who struggled really bad in trig, and I have a 94 right now! All things are possible with Constante :)
She is very clear in her explanation of material. The free Geogebra program that she shows you how to use makes this class stupid easy. You can even use it on tests!!! If you learn how to use the program (which isn't hard) then there is no way you'll fail this course. I generally suck at math, but she gives you all the tools you need to succeed.
She's a really great professor at the university. If you need to take calculus, take her! There is a lot of homework, quizzes, online homework, even a quiz every Friday. The best thing about that though is you have many opportunities to practice your math. There's also poppers every day of lecture, so those are an easy 10% of your grade.
Great professor. Took online class and enjoyed it. Won't regret if you take her.
I took her in class. Her lectures are very boring however they are helpful. The labs are also very boring but can help based on the lab teacher. I didn't take notes all year and got an A probably due to my highschool experience. Although high school calc did not go in-depth as this class does. Find a study group and you'll be better off.
Constante is a good professor I just personally found the class very boring. To get an A keep up with the work that you have in the class such as the quizzes. For the tests if you understand the reviews she posts you are assured an A on the test.
great professor! i am horrible at math and always have been, but i ended up doing really well in the class. she offers a lot of extra credit on exams by taking the practice test and taking 10% of that grade and adding it to your raw score. lots of online homework and quizzes each week but its doable. overall great class!
She is a very kind and caring professor who loves what she studies. You print out the notes at home and use them to learn in lecture. Online quizzes every week and quizzes every Friday in labs. She presents the information as cleanly as possible. Take/study those notes and you will be fine. Take care to thoroughly learn and it will be an easy A.
Prof Constante is the best! Clear grading criteria-4 exams, 1 final, &lots of hw, but this is the same for every math1431 class. If this is your first time taking cal or u learned it before, her lectures are structured so well and she makes even the hardest topics easy to learn. Take her if u want a prof who actually teaches well. U won't regret it
Dr. Constante is very clear in her lectures & goes into detail of every concept to make sure everyone understands it. Weekly poppers are assigned and test are given every few units. Tests were always similar to the review and practice test so if you know those you will do great. Exemption from final is available with an 85 or greater. Great class!!
Bus calc is probably the easiest class I have taken since... elementary school. I'm alright at math, but this class is easier than the college algebra pre-req that comes before it. I'm not even a business major and I took it, got a 103. The professor is also very helpful. Only problem is there are a good chunk of assignments to keep up with.
Constante is a knowledgeable professor and knows what she is doing; makes this course easier to handle. 4 tests and a final, weekly homework, quizzes in lab every Friday, poppers every lecture (majority she gives you answers and sometimes it'll be questions based on what was covered that day). Overall manageable class.
very straightforward professor
I never took calculus in high school and I did fine! All you have to do is show up to class and follow along the notes, do your homework and quizzes, and you're set for the tests! There's also a lot of extra credit (only for test) so do it! She's great honestly-- the best professor I've had so far.
There's a ton HW (& quizzes) and it prepares you well for tests. The problem w/ this system is that to grade all tests, they're harshly timed with only a few questions. B/C of this, it's easier to make mistakes, and those mistakes hurt test grades more. Couple this with the fact that most of the grade come from tests, and you need to WORK ON SPEED.
She is one of the best professors I've had during my first year. Make sure you attend class because it helps you understand the material better when she explains it. Reviews, hw, and quizzes help you to better understand the concept if you ever struggle. Extra credit for doing the practice tests and quizzes. Assignment every week but its not so bad
This class has a ton of homework and quizzes. If you're not good at math, prepare to have to teach yourself. She moves very fast and skips over steps while working out examples so it's hard to follow. The practice tests are harder than the actual tests. Make sure you bubble very dark on the poppers because you'll get random zeros even if you do it.
Easy online class. Geogebra makes it a joke. Make sure to look at notes and not memorize the pattern for the quizzes and tests,as there is one. Other than that, your main goal is to get the grade you want and exempt from the final, which is easy.
She's the best professor I've ever taken. Really cares about you and is very thorough with the material. EASIEST CLASS EVER! TAKE IT! At the end of the semester, I was avg. a 101.3 & had the option to opt out of the final. This course lets you use a program call GeoGebra & it's a joke. But this is still a math course at UH so still heavy on work.
I took pre-calculus, it was not that easy but if you go to class and if you spend time outside of class studying with others, it is a class that you can pass. Make sure to go to class though. I had a car accident during her class and was gone for a whole week but I was able to pass her class with her helpful videos.
Calc is a very hard subject, but she helps make it more tolerable. She did the best she could as a lecturer, but tests were pretty hard anyway bc the math department is crazy. You really have to study for the grade you want. She has online tutoring sessions and is very accessible outside of class, so there's opportunity for help if you need it.
Took Math 1310 onlineif you sign in for her lectures you benefit from asking questions, she is very patient and very knowledgeable. My only critique is she breezes through the problems very fast so be sure to ask her questions. There are 5 exams, no opt out available, 24 quizzes and about 10 poppers. Do not skip her lectures or you wont pass.
She makes math easy!! Assignments weren't too bad, 20 attempts on every quiz, homework usually do the next day after her lecture, final optional with a B or higher!!
She is an excellent lecturer and offers tons of resources to help you pass. She even offered a few extra credit. But be ready to devote ALL your time to this class. The actual calculus material wasn't hard, but the shear amount of work there was made it difficult to handle. Take this class during a semester you have a lot of easy classes.
She is a caring professor that offers a lot of outside resources to help you (online tutorials, office hours, etc.) The material is not that hard to understand but there are lots of assignments due every week. On test weeks, you have to turn in a homework and a (usually long) test review.
Very helpful and almost always answers emails. Has videos prior to exams to help you. Attend class for poppers (3% of grade). Only downside is that her examples on the class notes are easy in comprison to the online quizzes and tests. Overall awesome though.
I was worried about taking a online math but this was by far the EASIEST CLASS ive ever taken in college. Everything we learned was worked in GGB(calculator program) which is allowed during the test!Just learn how to use it and you'll have an easyA! Ms. C was very helpful&willing to answer questions. Online lectures were organized w/ clear duedates
She was worth waking up early to attend her lecture and take her class in general.
An amazing professor who is patient with her students. For her online class, we would meet for 1 hour on Monday and 1 hour and Wednesday. She taught great. Exams are at CASA.
she is good teacher. dont attend online lectures tho u dont need to. ez A
Curriculum matched quizzes and tests. She provyclear instructions and, for me, that made business calculus easy. I got an A and think anyone who'd do the work will get the same. I will definitely take her again.
I took a mini mester class so it was only 4 weeks which meant it was really fast paced. Her class notes were really good and easy to follow. I never watched the lectures and I still got an A. She's really helpful and responds to emails quickly and she's really understanding. Her tests are at CASA. You also have extra credit opportunities.
Constante is my Queen. Please take her if you can. She really cares and wants the best. Lectures have in-class quizzes which are super easy, so just go to every lecture. Do your work in a timely manner and use tutors and the class should be an easy A. One hw packet, two online quizzes, and a lab paper quiz each week, so many opportunities to learn.
Professor Constante is amazing and she takes time to explain each and every question if you do not understand. It is a very easy class as long as you do your work on time. The quiz's, homework, and test reviews are well designed to prepare you for the test. Also, the best thing about the class is that you can exempt from the final.
I took Professor Constante for Math 1314 mini session meaning only four weeks and I still got an A. She records the lectures and uploads them but watch the same day. Definitely watch the lectures and do the quizzes which are based on the lectures. The reviews are helpful since it's very similar to the actual test and count for extra credit.
She is fantastic honestly. She knows how to teach and she makes the unit very simple to understand. Her practice tests are a bit harder then her actual test. The test is pretty easy and she drops a lot to improve your grade. She also responds very quickly to emails.
Straight to the point lectures, patient, and kind! Easy A as long as you do your work on time and do the practice tests for extra credit on the actual tests
Lots of homework, but it's the same for any calc class. She has printable notes for you to follow with nice examples. Can go fast at times, but she always posts them. Lots of poppers. If you just show up to class and do your hw, you should get an A. The exams are a lot easier than hw given, and straightforward with similar problems.
Take her, class is super easy and straight forward, lots of extra credit, tests are way easier than hw. Very patient, takes her time explaining hard questions, live sections but you can always go back and watch the lecture.
LOVE her! take her if possible for calculus. shes so nice and actually cared about her students and their grades
I took professor Constante for precalculus. She explained all the concepts really well and made everything to understand. If you really struggle with math, she is very helpful during her office hours. also tons of extra credit
Best math teacher I have ever had. I was nervous when entering calculus since it was completely new material, but her lectures and the way she writes the notes are incredibly easy to follow. Sure there is lots of homework, but that is essential in any higher level math class. If you put in the effort, easy A. She gives you all resources needed.
I took this class online with Professor Constante and it was amazing. She knew what she was teaching and she taught it well. If you watch the lecture videos and print out the notes and follow along you will do great. The homeworks and quizzes go right along with what she teaches. Highly recommend taking this class with Professor Constante!!
Overall Ms. Constante is a great prof. If you have never been exposed to calculus this class can be challenging. If you just show up, try your best to understand, and go to office hours you will be ok. This class will require some self-teaching, especially for the online quizzes, but there are plenty of resources (on youtube) to help.
Super easy class and amazing lectures! I absolutely love professor Constante. Shes respectful of her students, ready to help, and easy to understand. 100000% would recommend!!
She's been a solid teacher for years, took her my freshman year and senior and she hasn't changed a bit.
I took her online class mon and wed. She gave assignments everyday or every other day. We would learn a new chapter and the next day or the day after have a quiz. Which is 15% of your grade. If you got confused on a chapter it was very hard to get back on track with the class. It felt like she forgot we have other classes. wouldn't recommend.
i suggest taking her online vs in-person. she works VERY fast in-person and doesn't record her lectures (at least for pre cal) so if ur not strong in math, it can be pretty hard to keep up. online you can watch at ur own pace. she explains concepts well enough though and responds to emails fast.
Loved her lectures and teaching personality. Always easily fully explained questions.
When you ask for help, she gives smart-aleck answers. She expects you to know many terms and she teaches at a fast pace. Most of the time you have to re-teach yourself what she taught in class because of how fast she teaches. Other than that, she does teach good, you just have to work hard to understand.
She explains the lesson very clearly and if you pay attention then you will understand. The homework and quizzes are online, the textbook also online so no need to buy a physical textbook. She gives extra credit for the test and her test cover what she teaches in class. You have many attempts for the quizzes, but there's homework every week.
Upon hearing that I would have to take business calculus, I was instantly nervous. I'm not the best when it comes to math however, this course was super easy. (IF YOU ACTUALLY WATCH THE LECTURES AND STUDY). Just learn how to do the commands and you'll do fine! I would have gotten an A but slipped up the third test.
Talks fast and rambles on in too much detail. She'll skip over key steps and sometimes she'll dwell on a step even if its clear as day, which makes her inconsistent. The most frustrating thing is she'll often say the wrong thing and then correct it, but with the speed that she talks it's so back and forth and confusing. Too much word-vomit.
This is one of the easiest college courses you will ever take. Her practice exams are harder than the actual exam! The exams are cake and Professor Constante is a very good professor. Do the homework and practice exams and you are almost guaranteed an A. I guess the people who found this course hard don't want to try and learn at all.
Took her online course. Amazing teacher!! As long as you keep up with the work, and follow along with her lectures, you can make an A!
She makes calculus very easy. I love her!
Professor Constante is the reason I have more confidence in my ability to do math. She explained the concepts very clearly, and answered any questions we had during the lectures. Be sure to take Professor Constante for business calc, you wont regret it!!
Tests just like the review and practice exam, practice exam worth 5 points so double win. Quiz and homework every week but they help re-enforce what you're learning in class. She also posts the notes which is super helpful
She explains math in a way that is easy to understand if you listen (she teaches fast). She gives extra credit for every test, and if you complete the practice exams, you should be over prepared for the actual test. I messed up and missed several hw assignments and was still able to pull an A because she replaces your lowest test grade.
explains really well & is willing to answer your questions but does it in a menacing way to the person if she thinks it's a dumb question. Doesnt always explain her answers either she'll say "well just look." But is still very helpful outside of class and posts review videos online for exams. Some hw problems arent in our notes which is annoying.
Professor Constante's a good teacher that knows the material well and is well-prepared for lecture every class. She posts the notes ahead of time to print out, and if you miss class, she posts her notes afterwards as she writes them with you during class. However, if you haven't taken calculus before, this class may be challenging as she goes FAST!
She is great
Constante is great and I would highly recommend taking her class. There are no surprises with her and she really does try to prep us for the tests. With every calc 1 class, there are quizzes twice a week and poppers in class every day.
She is very clear in her lectures. It is easy to follow and if you attend and do the work that is assigned you will not have to put in time of your own and you will be prepared with the test. The professor is super nice she knows what she is teaching and will answer any questions that you have, she is sweet and does not make the lectures boring.
She is very clear and friendly. Explains things easily and is very friendly. Encourages her students to ask questions, provides many resources: reviewing, tutoring etc. She WANTS you to pass you guys, that's how friendly she is. So she makes sure you don't feel shy to ask questions. Her class format is very straight forward. Great math teacher.
I needed precal for a credit and was sorta of scared, but she made the math and steps understandable. She drops a certain amount of poppers and quizzes. She does online after school tutoring. Poppers are given during class, so go to class. Homework can be easy, if understands notes. Exams are exactly like the Practice exam, so do it over and over.
Great Professor. She goes a bit fast for my liking because of the class duration but she makes the material clear and easy to understand. Definitely take her if you can!
Calculus is a pretty easy class to begin with, especially if you already took it in high school. Those who struggle in math I would still recommend her. The TAs in the labs were helpful and her lectures were clear and easy to understand. She makes it easy to teach yourself from notes if you struggle with lectures. They are available to print.
She is a very nice prof, you can tell she cares about her students. Make sure you do the homework, and come to class to complete poppers (pop quizzes that count to your grade). Take advantage of the reviews posted before tests too! Do them before class and/or rework them before tests.
She is very nice and very clear about what is getting graded. There is a lot of homework and quizzes. Poppers every week. Took class online due to COVID, had to use a webcam on tests and the final exam.
Her lectures are great and she takes questions. There are 3-4 quizzes each week but you have many attempts-- lots of homework but not too time-consuming. She posts blank notes you can print and follow along and posts them after she's gone through them in lecture for you to reference which is very helpful
Can't complain at all about this professor. Her teaching is pretty clear. Calculus is a tough subject in general so be prepared to put in some effort but she is the best professor probably for this class.
Professor Constante genuinely makes you love math. She's so easy going and very straight forward with her course. Took her online because of COVID and it was much easier than anticipated. Its a lot of homework but they're easy and really good practice. 20 attempts on quizzes & exams are easier than the Practice test + Practice test is 2 extra point
100% take Constante for any math course. She will help you in and outside of class. She will literally stop class to answer your questions. She CARES. There are about 2-4 assignments a week but that just comes with Math. She gives you a chance to receive 5 points extra credit on every test and 10 pts on the final. She gives access to book for free.
Amazing Professor!!! I went into it very nervous about Calculus and ended up loving the class. She's is ALWAYS available to help and email communication is very timely. I loved the class because of how ell she explained everything, how easy it was to get in touch and how many opportunities I had to study. Do yourself a favor and take this professor
Her lectures aren't anything special but she isn't a boring professor by any means. You probably are gonna have like 2-3 things due every week in the form of quizzes and homework. You get like 20 attempts to get a 100 on the quizzes. She gives extra credit opportunities for each exam. Pretty easy A, in my opinion.
I took her during Covid-19 pandemic. She is the best professor I had in the sem., all the tests & quizzes are easy if you pay attention to her lectures. Does care about you and makes sure that we understood the topic. Every polite does not get angry, attain her lectures + take notes A. Highly recommend, and take her if you struggle in math.
Professor Constante is the best math professor you can take. I haven't had a formal math class in 2 years, but her lectures made lots of sense and she doesn't make you feel dumb if you don't understand a concept. She's nice and easy to talk to and the way she handled online lectures during COVID was amazing. Don't be afraid to ask for help!
Let me just say I took college algebra in 2016 and got a C so I was nervous taking a math class 4 YEARS LATER. I did have to work for my grade but I never thought I would get an A in precal. Her lectures are super helpful and homework and quizzes have 20 attempts! TAKE HER!!!!!!!
Great teacher. Not the easiest to talk to but explains everything well in her lectures. Her emails are very dry and not sympathetic. The class isn't too hard.
Great professor overall. She teaches very clearly and makes calculus easy to understand, just keep up with the material and you should be good to go!
Her problem is being so aggressive when you ask a question. She will respond with "That's what I JUST said that." or obviously sounding frustrated. Yes, we heard you say it before but the problem is the student NOT understanding. We need you to explain it better or differently. All she does is repeat herself. Makes me not want to ask for help.
Calc 1 is a relatively easy course and Professor Constante teaches it well. However, I wouldn't take her again because she is rude and is not receptive to questions. Additionally she does not care about her students. I had to request an excused absence due to a death in my intermediate family and she showed no sympathy and was very rude about it.
Prof Constante is a great professor. If you ask questions she'll answer no matter how menial the question is. I took her for precal and I'm currently taking her for cal 1. I hate math, but constante breaks things down well to the point where I can understand. She has extra credit for tests on practice test grades. I wish she taught cal 2.
Course is heavy on work but learning from her makes it feel easy. Great Professor and has very informational lectures with supplemental help from the TAs.
Constante is a great precal professor. Although the workload might be difficult for people not great at math, she goes above and beyond for her students who need help and provides so much material for practice. Very organized for an online class. Poppers every lecture (they are easy)! Probably one of the best math teachers.
Prof Constante's lectures are amazing, she shows steps by steps on how to solve a problem and happy to answer any question you have. I was super bad at math but manage to get A's in both PreCal and Cal 1. There are quizzes and homework due each week, but these are to prepare you for the exams. There are 4 exams and 1 final. Similar to practicetest.
Professor Constante was literally the right instructor for Calculus 1. No other professor could teach math like her. And lab time is very helpful too.
When it comes to family emergencies or last minute emergencies she is strict on still completing your work so be very weary of that. Overall precal isn't too hard.
this was the hardest class ive ever taken, and Prof. Constante would go quickly through the lectures, which were difficult at times. She was always zipping through concepts so I would have to go back and watch the lectures two or three times outside of class which was really time consuming. you get extra credit for doing practice tests!
Tough class with a fantastic prof. She is so clear in her lectures and makes the material easy to understand. Quick to respond to emails.
Pre Calculus is pretty easy as long as you can follow along and try not to skip a step. Its very easy to get confused and get behind. This professor is good at teaching the content but when it comes to any urgent emergencies please do your work ahead of time because you WILL NOT be able to make it up regardless of the situation. Good luck.
Constante is an amazing lecturer and made calculus easy for me. I took her for precal as well and cares about her students. You can retake the quizzes and practice quizzes to get used to doing the problems, which is the best way to learn calculus. She is easy to talk to and there are NO stupid questions. She is very caring and will help you pass!
Outstanding professor - in my opinion. I only wish she had a pop filter for her microphone; while listening to the recorded lectures, there's a probability of your eardrum/s getting blown out. Besides that, the class is excellent.
Really great professor, this was one of my favorite classes. Breaks things down, has no problem repeating things if needed, lectures in detail so you most likely won't get lost. I would recommend going to every class, does post notes but doesn't record lectures. Overall really good for math classes if offered.
Do not recommend taking her class. She goes way too fast on all lectures, with little explanations. Skips oversteps when teaching because she assumes everyone already knows how to get from point A to point B leaving you confused. Doesn't record lessons and on special occasions, she does the recordings are bad. DO NOT RECCOMMEND
This professor has pre-recorded lectures that are semi-easy to follow. Sometimes she does assume everyone knows how to get from point A to point B but overall I really liked her lectures. Do the practice test and her exam reviews and you will be fine. Follow the lectures with her notes and you will be fine. Quizzes and HW help you stay on track.
The professor posts lectures on Teams and she goes through every lecture video with problems. She explains the problems really well and clear. This class uses GGB to calculate answers so it is easier than having to solve them on your own. There are quite a lot of homework and quizzes due. Extra credit is available. Overall great professor.
Professor Constante is a good professor but the class isn't exactly east. Lots of quizzes and hw but they aren't bad. 20 attempts on quizzes. Do the practice exams and that's 5 EC pts. Her paper reviews are not the same as what other math profs give so ask around. Her reviews are very basic and not very good. I skipped college algebra but got an A+
I absolutely LOVE Professor Constante. Calculus is a tough subject, but she teaches it in a way that is so easy to understand. During her office hours you could ask her any question and she would help you out a lot. You can even schedule one on one office hours with her. This professor is an absolute GEM, if you're taking calc, take it with her!
Great at lecturing, leaves finished notes on the courseware so if you miss class and are capable of self-teach/learning, you'll be fine. You have countless(20) chances to get a 100 on quizzes and practice tests.
She's really sweet and good at teaching. She does all the lectures, but the rest is up to you and the TA. The course is on CASA so that makes it easier. Practice tests are extra credit and good for studying so I really recommend doing those.
This class is not meant to be easy but it prepares you for Cal. This class moves fast & you do need to memorize a lot of formulas as some cant be given during the test. The professor is amazing, she explains everything very clear and gives you enough extra credit for you to "add" them to your test. Do ALL the homework and practice tests it helps!!!
Speeds thru notes and assumes students can follow along with the new math she's introducing. Talks very fast, good luck trying to keep up unless you already know a decent amount of calculus.
She was very nice. Clearly cared for students. I took the class (precalc) during spring 2021- her lectures do tend to go on a bit and she stays on a problem for a long time but I think it's just because she really wants her students to understand the material.
Great professor, I had her for an online College Algebra class during the winter mini session and she was wonderful. Her recorded video lectures explained everything perfectly. On the chance you needed clarification she was always easy to get in touch with either by email or office hours. Goes out of her way to help her students.
Professor Constante is amazing! Her lectures are clear and easy to follow, and although there is usually a quiz or homework due every week, they don't feel overwhelming. She also posts her notes online after class is over, so you can miss lectures. She also answers questions during lectures. She is the best math professor I've ever taken!
She sometimes rambles into details that don't always correspond with the current lesson and spends a lot of time going over previous lectures. Sometimes she assigns 2 homeworks a week. She also expects you to know certain things in all of the lectures. I recommend going in person so you can see and hear her work through every problem.
I don't understand at all why this Professor is rated so well. Her videos are ancient and of terrible quality. Most of the content on the exams aren't covered in her review sessions. She's literally trying to fail students by misleading them regarding what content will be covered on these tests. There's no extra credit and no curves. AVOID.
I've historically not had a good understanding of math, so I'm surprised that I'm actually passing this course! Professor Constante IS lecture heavy, so make sure to pay attention. Despite this, she genuinely cares if her students understand what she's teaching. TONS of assignments, but if you listen in class and ask for help, you'll be fine.
0 extra credit offered. 0 grade rounding for any reason. 0 emails responded to. 1 quiz and 2 homework every week. online access code, costs like $50. good teacher, but no compassion. simple class though. i do NOT recommend this professor.
Horrible experience, Hard to understand and does not go over problems. I think the key to understanding is being able to go over it and work problems with students. She just does the lectures at a speed mode and does not explain anything. She assumes students already know it. too much weekly work, hated it, DO NOT TAKE HER
worst class i've ever taken. she goes way too fast, skips steps, doesn't record lectures, and has put problems on the test that are more difficult than what's covered in class. her given online practice tests don't reflect the actual test very well, i was able to score well on those but did awful on the real thing. CHOOSE SOMEONE ELSE, i wish i did
Dr. Constante was pretty good when I had her. I took her my first semester in college during the covid era and her class didn't add unnecessary stress during these hard times. Tests were very straight forward and if you understood calculus you did well on the exams. She was open to help students if they needed.
The professors great! Very kind
I am really bad at math, but with this professor I understood everything. She is really really nice. If you ask a question, she will make sure she answers it and that you understand it fully. Take her if you can, and you will pass without a doubt. I've heard other professors like Hafeez are bad in this subject, so take Constante.
Professor Constante is amazing. She teaches everything so well and works hard to ensure her students succeed. If you have to take any math class, take it with her. You won't regret her. She is the best of the best.
To be successful in this class, complete your quizzes and practice tests as many times, 20 attempts max., and complete your homework. Take detailed notes of the online lectures and work them out as she is doing to get the full picture. Her exams are exactly like the practice tests so you will do great if you are skillful at doing them.
I could show up without a pencil and still get an A. Professor Constante is a lovely lady. She explains each unit so well and will break down questions for you if you need help. This class is a straight review of high school math, if you put in the slightest bit of effort you should have no problem getting an A.
She always explained things very clearly and told us exactly what would be on the tests. It was never a surprise. She provided lots of extra credit, dropped low quiz and homework grades, and did reviews for every test. If you don't attend the lecture, you'll have a hard time. Her outlines are great and I recommend asking questions if you're lost!!
Awesome professor. Would have loved to have her again but her class unfortunately does not align with my spring classes.
Very good professor, even though her lectures are filled with students she is able to teach efficiently and takes time to answer students' questions in a way that can make sense to them and everyone else. She provides help outside of class through teams and has good test reviews. She also gives extra credit on Cougar Fridays.
Prof. Constante was a great teacher who would thoroughly explain problems. Hw was great practice, and you could retake quizzes, and tests were reasonable. She would however move fast and would sometimes respond to questions with an attitude. Overall, clear and easy to access. Extra credit was also available. Recommend 100%
The notes are easy to follow and she takes time to explain the concept not just jump into examples. The work load is similar to other math classes at UH. Occasionally offers extra credit if you wear red on fridays. She made attendance optional on the friday of testing weeks. Overall was an amazing professor and I was bummed she didn't teach Calc II
Her way of explaining things was kind of confusing and she did things the long way. I didn't pay attention to her lectures or notes at all, I would go to the review session Dr. Caputo held before exams and learned everything there and I got an A on all the exams. I'm not that good at math either.
Great professor!! She's nice and cares about her students learning, a little loud if you sit in the front but she's awesome.
precal didnt click with me right away so i only got a good grade because i studied weekly using the quizzes and homeworks on casa and had a tutor to help me. overall she's great, and i don't have complaints. make sure u get those poppers~ that's how she grades attendance. would take again.
Professor Constante was amazing! she goes fast but if anyone asked her a question, she would not hesitate to go into explaining it in a way that would allow anyone to walk away understanding a concept. I have nothing but good things to say about her.
She is the best professor for math, it is true that is always running but she explains with detail each thing and when don't get it and ask she doesn't make you feel stupid, she explains and works in another example. However, be prepared for homework each week and the one that I got a problem with was the TA, still don't know why we need lab hours.
Professor Constante is hands down one of the best math professors I've had! Her teaching is very clear, and in addition to practice tests (that count for up to 5 points EC), she uploads a review that I find actually more helpful than the practice tests. Take her for your math classes, she makes everything easy to understand, just study, unlike me!
Took her course as a winter mini-session. Honestly, you don't even have to show up to her online courses, she does such a good job explaining the test reviews and going step by step with an uploaded video she shares a good amount of time before the test for you to practice, will definitely take her again for business calculus.
I don't understand why she has so many good reviews. She is ok but she skips so many steps and thinks the class knows it. You will still end up teaching yourself everything. There isn't anything special about her class and sometimes she can be a bit rude when you ask her questions. You only get to use a nongraphing calculator for this class.
I genuinely don't understand why the professor gets so many positive ratings in her classes. For me, the class wasn't a very beneficial experience. I would often notice her slight rudeness when the student raised their hand for a question. She often skipped the steps, so I often didn't know what to do. Her explanation wasn't very concise and clear.
Quizzes and Extra Credit had 20 attempts. She can come off as rude, but as long as you put in like an hr of studying everything will click. I think the biggest struggle is people don't use at least 5 attempts on any assignment and blame her teaching style. She can be confusing, so be prepared to study a bit, but it'll click with time
i absolutely love professor constante. i have now took her for CA, pre calc and calc 1 and got As in all. best math prof in my humble opinion
She was so helpful, her lectures were organized and the review sessions were well representative of the exams. If you pay attention and utilize lab time to get help from TA for the quizzes, you can get an A. I was scared before taking this class because everyone talks about how difficult calculus is, but she definitely made my experience easier.
Grading consists of 3 Tests, Homework, and Quizzes. She takes the highest grades, and you have at least 10 attempts. I recommend doing the practice tests since the highest grade is 5% added to the test and that's the only extra credit she gives. Do the extra practice problems from the textbook, because it will help with learning the material.
Professor Constante gives tons of extra credit and opportunities to raise your grade. I finished the class with a 96 and the tests she gives are not difficult at all. They're just like the reviews and written homework. She drops some quizzes but there is a lot of homework quizzes and sometimes it gets frustrating but overall the class was very easy
She's a great professor! I took her in Fall' 22 and she broke the concepts down rally well and her test reviews actually prepared you for the test. Overall a great person and I would def recommend her for calc 1.
She was a great professor who really taught the material in class. You will definitely need to attend the lectures as she teaches everything you know for tests during them. Attendance is not taken. Highly suggest her as a professor for Finite as her class is easy as long as you keep up with the material.
Dr. Constante is a clear and helpful professor. Her lectures are very easy to understand and follow, and she always makes sure to clear up any confusion. The weekly quizzes are annoying, but they help prepare you for the tests and lab quizzes a lot. Her office hours and teams meetings are very helpful and flexible! One of the best calc 1 teachers!
She was my first math proff at UH and she is a clear and helpful professor. She does care for her students. Test reviews and her class notes prepare you for the test. I would def recommend her for calc 1 and other math classes :)
She explains concepts and problems very well in her lectures. She even provided lecture notes. Quizzes (12%) are multiple attempts and there's HWs (10%). 3 exams (18% each) and a cumulative final (24%) to opt out if you have 80+. Exams are similar to the practice tests, which also gives you a 5 point extra credit on each exam. Take her if you can!!
This professor is amazing. Her lectures are very detailed and clear. There are no surprises on the quizzes or test. Everything that is on the homework is on the quiz or test. You get multiple chances to get a good grade on the homework and quizzes. I would recommend this professor any day.
She's a must if you need to take Calculus 1. Her lectures are engaging, and she explains the material in clear and easy to understand manner. Workload looks heavy at first but if you pace yourself, it is very manageable. There's plenty of practice with the homework and quizzes and she is very generous with extra credit. Would definitely take again.
Awesome math professor! Just study using the practice exams and make sure to do Homework and Quizzes. Her lectures are very straight forward and very kind to ask any questions that you have. Take her class!
The professor's lecture style can be hit-or-miss, but using resources like the practice exams and unstuckstudy AI helped me stay on top of the material. Consistent study is key to succeeding in this class.
This was by far the best professor I've had yet. Although she doesn't require you to go to class I still would just because she works through the problems in detail, but if you are good at math and problem solving she does post the notes with answers. She makes the test review and practice test VERY similar to the test.
I typically don't ever write reviews, but she was worth writing one for -- taking her 8-week course, videos/extra help are easily accessible, she answers any questions thrown at her and explains them very well. She is very fast-paced but just keep up with the workload. Exams and Practice Exams are structured similarly. Many attempts on quizzes & PT
Excellent math course, everything is online and laid out with a very clear calendar to follow, there are quizzes and hw due every week but all 10 questions and open note. definitely recommend taking.
Good lectures. She requires attendance but just make friends with someone in lecture to send if you don't go. She cares and records lectures around midterm days. Clear explanation, but like 3 + online quizzes (asynchronous) a week on the material. Exams are easy enough, reviews are harder. Last years exams are the same as current.
The class overall was good, the professor could do a better job at explaining the steps before jumping to the answer. Also, when questions were asked, it felt as if she did not want to address them, often would say to email or say that she mentioned it before; questions were not answered clearly. Course was difficult and had to self-teach myself.
Take her class if you want good grade and good knowledge! She makes class easy, we have Quiz and Homework that helps you to practice for the tests. If your grades are good, you be able to opt-out the final test. She has a lot of virtual help that you can ask questions and tutoring... I achieve 100% for this semester. I recommend to take her class
easy A especially if you have taken cal before. Just go through the notes and watch her videos if you get lost
Took this class fall 2024 online and it was very easy. 1 or 2 lecture vids to watch, quiz with 10 attempts, and hw assignment each week. 3 test and the final but if you have an 80 or above you can opt out of the final. Reviews with 10 attempts which are like to the test plus 5 extra points. Highly recommend if you're looking for an easy math class.
Professor Constante is honestly an amazing professor. Her syllabus is very clear as well as her lectures. She allowed us to have 20 attempts on the quizzes which was a great way to practice with finite math. Her lecture are always smooth and easy to understand. She doesn't curve exam grades so make sure to take her practice exams for bonus points!
Entirely online, do it at your own pace but get everything done on time. She has a detailed weekly schedule. As long as you do reviews for tests you should be fine. She teaches the material well. 4-5 hours per week of work.
Professor Constante is a great professor and her lectures were made very easy to understand. The class consisted of weekly homework and quiz assignments, which helped a lot when it came to preparing for exams. If you get an 80 and above, you're eligible to exempt the final exam. Would recommend.
I took the Session 6. If you watch the lecture videos, you will pass the class. 1 lecture video every weekday (bc its session 6), usually around 20-45m each. 1 quiz for each lecture video (15 total). 3 quizzes dropped. 2 tests. Easy extra credit. The mini is definitely doable, but only if you are able to dedicate 3 hrs/day. I ended with a 104%.
Never attended class (3x weekly). Prof posts notes the day after. Dropped 2 homeworks and 2 quizzes. Weekly quizzes (20 attempts) 15, weekly homework 13, 3 exams, and a final you can skip with a B. 5 bonus points on exams for taking practice tests. Tutoring and textbook available for help. Prof communicated accessibility. Exam at GAR.
Everything is laid out from the lectures to reviews, which will truly help throughout class. I never really attended lectures but I would always take notes whenever and study for the test 2 days prior and get an A on the exam. Her quizzes are graded higher than the homework but you get 10 tries and she adds bonus points. In all best and easy class.
this professor is good only thing is she goes a little fast during lectures but overall an easy class. There are a lot of quizzes and around 9 homeworks. The tests are straight forward and relatively short.
36 online quizzes, 10 in person lab quizzes, 9 HW, attendance, 3 Tests and one cumulative Final. Everything is so doable, she teaches every topic from scratch and answers all questions. At least one assignment from each category gets dropped and there is extra credit opportunities for each test. You have to do good on tests to get a A (94+). easy A
Take the class! Ms. Constante is such a caring and supportive teacher. It's important to show up to her classes because the content can get tricky if you miss anything. She's always there to help and really cares about her students' success. Plus, her assignments give you up to 20 tries, so you get plenty of practice to nail it before the tests.
Solid math teacher. She can teach at a fast-pace but will ask her students if the speed is too much. Provides feedback at the end of her lectures if you have any questions, with weekly homeworks and quizzes. All of the work is digital, so you can access all of the problems and work through an iPad or laptop. Highly recommend her class!
Professor was great. If you can put the work in and follow along you will pass. There is a quiz and homework due every week. You get 20 attempts on the quiz. It gets tedious, but it is good practice and helped me score 90+ on every test. You can get up to 5 points on each test aswell. She is a great teacher and I would highly recommend.
Great Professor overall. Some might say she goes a little too fast, but she always ask if she's going too fast. Explains the concepts very well, and made the subject easy and fun to learn. Lots of quizzes, and I reccommend actually doing them because they will help for the exams.
Good prof. Clear grading criteria. 3 tests (4 with final), homework, and quizzes. I used Knack tutoring (provided by the university), and it helped. Pay attention to lectures and guided practices, and you'll be fine.
Professor Beatrice was the best math professor I've ever had. This class (Calc 1) was assignment-heavy, consisting of about 3 CCS online quizzes, 1 Lab quiz in person, and 1 homework assignment each week. She posts all of her lecture notes online, and test reviews. Showing up to lecture isn't mandatory to learn, but she does take attendance.
Take her. She is great at explaining concepts. For exams she will give you hints and provides extra credit. Sometimes for lab quizzes she will use the homework as a free 100. Multiple attempts on quizzes. Drops 1 hmwk, lab quiz. Drops 2 quizzes and lowest exam grade gets replaced with raw final exam score if higher. She wants her students to pass.
Around 2 homework and 2 quizzes each week towards middle/end of semester. She explains concepts very well and probably the best math teacher I have had. She gives extra credit opportunities before every test. All around great professor, but practice your problems!
She speaks fast but at a perfect speed for most to understand. She gives exam reviews that directly mirror the exam, making it so much easier on studying. For lab quizzes she will use the week's homework as a free 100. Lowest exam grade gets replaced with raw final exam score if higher, and she drops assignments per category. Highly recommend.
She is an absolutely amazing teacher; she cares about her students and doesn't round down the average, unlike a few other professors. There are multiple times where she would take some homework as pop quiz grades, and her lectures make learning super easy for Calculus I. She has multiple chances for extra credit and drops a few low grades.
Very understanding of student questions, releases early quite often. Quizzes and practice tests have 20 tries each and assignments open upwards of a week or two before due. Makes content easy to digest without making it dumbed down. Points out what to look for in the wording of problems and says what exactly to do.
take her!! she's a teaches fast, but will always stop for questions and has several help sessions outside of class. for exams and lab quizzes she gives hints on the wording and types of questions to be expected. the homework is given within a week of the due date, and there's no pop quizzes. lots of extra credit for exams.
Her class isn't bad if you go to class and do the work, attendance isn't required and she uploads the notes after the class.
Great teacher, she does work fast but she does try to make sure you understand the material in class. Attendance isn't mandatory and she uploads the notes after class. There's also tutoring and office hours if you're confused on anything and she's good about sharing resources to help you. If you go to class and do the work you'll be fine
Professor Constante was by far one of my best professors her at the University of Houston. She is very intelligent and takes her time with students. She provides A LOT of resources and preparation for exams. There are usually 1-2 quizzes a week along with a weekly homework. As long as you attend lectures you should breeze through this course.
truly one of the best professors here on campus. She teaches the content clearly and is always open to questions during the lecture and is always available during office hours. There is a bit of homework but all of it helps understand the content and helps you prepare for the exams. Attendance isn't mandatory but is highly recommended.
Exceptional professor, you will not find a better lecturer on campus. You can tell she cares deeply about Calculus, and her teaching style is rare in this educational climate. If you go to every lecture, you will succeed. I am on the fence about the labs, they are completely useless if you pay attention during lectures. Do your homework, it helps.
Professor Constante is very clear and helpful when it comes to her lectures and is avaliable for help outside of class.
She is amazing and breaks down the concepts, in a way that it's easy to understand. she is caring and wants students to succeed. Follow her reviews, practice good enough on the practice exams and you're good to go. Highly recommend her
Great prof. I don't like math at all but she made it clear to understand. Calc is a very hard class but put in the effort!! She would sometimes use weekly homework as our lab quiz grades (if you turned it in on time you get 100 on the lab quiz automatically) which was a big help. Loved her and 10/10.
