material is covered quickly. Semi-difficult, but she makes the class interesed
very smart person, kinda hard class -- RIP Dr. Heller
she is a tough cookie and a strong woman. her courses are hard but shes great.
What did I need this class for? So boring.
If you're not an architecture major, DO NOT TAKE THIS CLASS...she's an absolte terror. take intro to arch only if you're looking to nap in the lecture hall!
I loved her class, very interesting. Boston was great, I brought 2 of my friends, she never figured it out cuzz there was like 200 people in my class. She grades fairly especially on the paper.
Nice lady. Has made so much of her life and been everywhere so she is inspiring to me. Very smart. A bit demanding and expects her students to have money for trips often. Very fun to be around though and makes class interesting.

Run for the door unless you want to spend 5 hours studying. SHe blows and she looks like the lady form THROW MAMA FROM THE TRAIN!
Her architecture class is so tough. She shows you slides of buildings, temples, and other crap some of which aren't even in the book so you can't even study them! Tough class and it is only an artistic mode GER.

She delivers what you need. All art history courses are a beast and at least she speaks from experience and shares. Exams are the standard in most art history classes, but she at least will give you credit for partial answers.
She is a horrible woman who has no interest in learning who you are. She's difficult and the material to be learned is ridiculous.
Shes not in touch with reality. Its like she thinks her class is the only one you are taking during the semester. A poor teacher. Yes, we know you went to Harvard, you still suck.
I got two words for you. DOUSH BAG!!!!!!!
Very good prof, course materil is difficult to teach as most students are not art majors and hate attending class. The material is hard to learn but it is kept interesting. Looks good in a tight white top ;)
She is a tough teacher but is passable, just study her handouts and she will not test on anything that can't be found in the book. Going to class is a must.

she is a ****!!!!
I'd rather be vomitting right now!
Pushy about politics. 20 pgs is unreasonable for a 100-level GER. Should've taken african drumming instead!
If you have a choice, do not take this class if you can help it, unless you have loads of time to spend on one class. Seems like she thinks that this is the only class I have.
Awesome teacher...incredible woman with lots of knowledge and experience...i would definetely recommend her
she's horrible, rude and teaches with her nose in the air. Wold not take her again - EVER
please if i ask one thing of anyone...it is to not take her class. i don't care what anyone says- you must devote your life to this class to try and just pass. she is mean and unhelpful and the class is awful. dont do it!!
laughes at everything but its gets very annoying and she can be very very rude
Class is alot of work-more then any of my other classes. She forgets that most of us have 4-5 other classes. Alot of classes have been cancelled last minute (including an exam)but we are only allowed to miss 6 classes. Honestly wouldn't take her again

Expects the students to visit the art galleries in Boston and write reviews on the exhibits. Art galleries are hard to find in Boston. The professor is demanding for an undergrad course. She expects the students to teach themselves the course material.
as soon as you get over the fact that she is a Harvard PhD she is a wonderful and helpful woman; if you are taking an upper level art history class you should expect to go to museums, suck it up and do the work and you'll get an A...highly recomended
The field trips should be expected in a 300 level course-get over it!But all we did in class was sit around and listen to Beatrice talk about what a brilliant woman she was.She was never prepared for class, always unorganized. She doesn't know how to teach
wow, one of the most biased professors i've ever had. wondered if i was really learning anything. all she did was ramble on about how great she was and how wonderful all her "other" classes were.
Not a good teacher
She rants about how wonderful she is & never teaches a thing, belittles students in & out of class, & loves herself. One has to research outside of class to figure out what the hell she's talking about. She never checks your work to see if you're learning
Let's just say I dropped this class after the first day. The attitude on this women will amaze you, and then annoy you!
Beatrice sucks! she treats students like they are 5.She graded our tests while we were presenting our final projects, how is she suppose to give a grade when shes not paying attention! She should get out of bridgewater and take another trip around the world
Is the best and smartest teacher in the history of teaching. If you don't believe me just ask her.
I had to withdraw. She's the hardest prof I've ever had. She's a really cool person, but you shouldn't take her classes unless you have a photographic memory.

very fun but very very hard be prepared to work will learn alot!!!
She was a miserable teacher. I had to take the class for my major and we only had to take it twice a week, but I dreaded it. I did okay in her class, but she made it unbearable. She would assign random things mid-semester and say that she had told us at the beginning. She's so condescending too.
I dropped her class so fast. She is hard and expects to much of students. to bad no one else taught ah309 8cP
she is very nice and tells interesting stories. however, if you are a republican do not take this course or else you will stick out like a sore thumb and that's not a good thing. she is a difficult grader, unprepared and unclear on projects. good person, not so good teacher.
The demeanor on this woman, I cant believe it. She puts on airs. her clothes she wears are something else. Don't like her, plain and simple.
Ok, the good thing: The field trips and gallery visits to the South End were great experiences for me. The bad: The class lacks structure. The attitude issue. Changing due dates on the fly. Never teaching material herself. This is run like a bad graduate class with no background of information.
Worst prof I have ever had, very unclear, flashes photos up for a couple of minutes then expects you to remember them for the test. DO NOT TAKE HER
very unorganized... i have learned NOTHING! she does not teach... lots of meaningless work...waste of time, money, and gives lots of stress!!
This woman is pretencious and does NOT teach at all. You learn on your own, which is fine if you are self-motivated like I am, but why waste your money of her class then?? Also, she makes your entire grade based on the content of a three ring 3" binder-- which she does NOT review. You can breaze
Expects way too much from her students! Really easy on you if youre a boy. She LOVES boys. Final grade is based on 3 things; 2 exams and a project. Not too bad of a grader, but she teaches like youre a Harvard student. Shes also a wicked name dropper and likes to brag about herself.

This prof. is a joke. Never prpared to teach class, never talks about topics relevant to class and is very UNHELPFUL. Although it is so easy to pass the class it isn't funny.
I have never had more unnecessary STRESS from one class/one professor in my LIFE. None of the work that I have spent so much time and effort on has ever even been reviewed. If ANYONE else taught these (useless) required classes I would have taken them with someone else.
beatrice is an amazing person! the class is tough, especially for a non-art major...but her stories are quite fun. there's a lot of work for a ger, but her style makes it able for all majors earn good grades in the class.
From all the stories i have heard about this woman and my own experiences, do not take her. She is a wonderful person , but as a prof she isn't that great. She doesnt lecture and wants you to teach yourself and you always have to go into boston or new york
The most stressful class ever...how can a professor cancel so many classes and then expect students to drop everything and meet anywhere from Boston to NYC in days' notice? Great class if you like doing work that will never be looked at and being given projects that aren't on the syllabus
WELL, I SURVIVED TWO SEMESTERS IN A ROW. NICE TO SPEAK WITH OUT OF CLASS, MOSTLY ABOUT HER ALWAYS, BUT THE CLASS IS A TOTAL JOKE. VERY STRESSFUL WITH NO ORGANIZATION. CONSTANTLY CHANGING THE CLASS REQUIREMENTS, A LOT OF TREATS WITH LOWERING GRADES... AND THOSE DAMN BINDERS. STRANGE CLASS...GOOD LUCK
a self absorbed, self righteous woman who is aesthetically displeasing and useless as a professor, much less as a human being. spends more time telling stories of her own rather than teaching class, unhelpful in and out of class. pretentious and a ****. i could use some rather unsavory language in regard to her. caveat disciplum
PRETTY SCARY!!!
We agree politically (progressive liberal), but she is an awful prof. The class was so hard I had to withdraw. She teaches a low level GER as if it were a grad course. Also, she treats students like they are not good enough because they attend BSC.

worst class I've ever taken at Bridgewater. If you can find a professor that teaches the same class just take it with them...you won't regret it!
Run as far away as you can! Not worth the effort, professor is unclear and not helpful. I registered to take an art class... not to listen to her personal experiences! Nice lady, but she can't teach for beans. High and tough expectations for her students.

I have never met a more wretched woman in my entire life. She conintually self-promotes herself, probably because no one else will. She blames the "victim" in most cases. Actually, all cases. She lacks humility. I can't honestly say anything positive about her.
Im very interested in AH. didnt see one slide the entire semester. didn't hear one lecture about art. the point was to teach yourself, but i could have read the book on my own without paying for a class if i wanted that.Presentations are stressful. i wish more than one teacher taught this class, because students should have a choice with teachers.
Why hasn't this professor been fired yet? :( I don't know one student who enjoyed this class. Art history should be enjoyable and interesting, not a bunch of stressful busywork. At first I thought Cool, no tests. I never thought I'd say this but I'd much rather take tons of tests than deal with her teaching style.
she is horrible. she does nothing and makes the students teach the class. she will also expect you to show up in boston several times. dont take her
she isn't bad all, her busy work is easy, wicked easy. and the class is fun you talk and eat candy. she jokes alot none of which that is funny, but she makes the effort. she is definatly one of those artsie people so therefore she is extremely wierd. There is a lot of walking tours in boston but you really get to know your class mates and become gr
she drives me crazy! she never teaches class and instead asigns groups to teach the chapters. she is VERY full of herself will make a point to toot her own horn about all the wonderful places she goes and how "important" she is. the most annoying thing is she laughs at everything and asks "are we awake?" about a million times each class. RUN!
first off i don't remeber signing up for this damn class. well i figured i would learn something about buildings or anything in the sort but i can say if you are reading this you know more about buildings then i do. this lady needs to get fired i cant stand her and she cant stand me it was a good thing.
Multiple changes to the syllabus with dates switched around too many times! Repetitive reminders that she went to Harvard. Flip answers. Horrible textbooks. Too many interruptions while students were in the middle of their presentations and it interrupted the flow. Put down education courses. She created a stressful environment in which to learn.
She is terribly unclear, assigns too much work then hardly ever checks for it. Makes fun of students who are new to presentions. Do not take her if you dont have to.
SHe is the most unorganized professo i have ever had. Assignments are random and most of the time you wont realize you have something due untill the day before. She is a good person though.. full of interesting information. So if you are stuck taking her class...try to make the best of it...
Beatrice is awesome. She is very intelligent and well traveled. Presentations are a definate, and so are out-of-class trips to Boston... If you are willing to give it your best, You'll have no problem. If you LIKE George Bush... This class ain't for you, then again, take it and fail b/c I hate you too!!!
She sucks. She thinks that bad reviews means she's doing her job,but she's not.She makes us teach ourselves while she sits there promoting herself and spouting off her political opinions. She's extremely unclear and really annoying. She treats BSC students like they're not as good as other college students and has some vendetta against graphics majors
she does not teach a thing. All she does is tell students to know this and that and will not help in any technological aspect of computers, which she expects. one has to somehow find others to help you because she will not. what is the point in taking her class, she doesnt even help in the least.
She is so lazy. She should supplement the teaching by the students with further information and for more clarity on difficult topics of theory and the movements. She tells you that you need to know computers and this and that but she will not help in any aspect of it.
I really hate to admit it but I learned a lot from this class. It's a lot like boot camp, it toughens you up. I learned a lot about how to make public presentations, talk about art, and technology. You will find, however, that there are a lot of tangental discussions about politics and contemporary societal issues. Not for the politically apathetic
she is LAZY and will not get up there to lecture on anything. I cannot believe she gets paid for this....she does not look over anything and just laughs at her students....ugh..its to bad that someone else cannot teach these classes....
L A Z Y ...... she doesnt do a thing, the students do all the work, I cannot believe she gets paid.she should contribute to the students lectures. however, its valid for students to speak in front of people. but she does nothing...
For those who blasted her spring session, don't take them seriously. I have had her 3 times and she is an awesome teacher. If you are lazy, don't pay attention, or want a free ride you shouldn't be in school. School is a priveledge, not a right. Be serious... you are adults... if you don't like the work, go be a pizza delivery boy or something!
she is the worst prof at this college. She goes over nothing and lets the students do all the teaching and lecturing. there are positive aspects to this type of teaching but also many negative. She should supplement the students lectures to her own. Out of all the classes I have had, never had one like this.. she is rude, disrespectful, & arrogant
makes students do all the work, at least 5 books......and you read them all. lots and LOTS of work. nothing exciting.
This class is a breeze. Teach yourself. All PP presentations. The class picks your grade not her so it is an easy A. Dont be afraid to speak in front of the class and you will do fine. No test, just 3 group presentations and 2 individuals. 1 field trip. Need Book She cancelled 3 classes. Easy GER
Just dont do it to yourself, let her teach other pretentious, self absorbed jerks. everything bad you read below is true. Go back to harvard! us mere state school students dont need you.
She is crazy but she isnt that bad, once you get used to her. She does not do any work really, you do it all. It isn't that hard but it is a lot of work to do. I wouldn't take a class with her again though
Just bad. That is all I can say.
She is terrible. Tons of work and doesnt help. Expects others who took her to do it. I am not paying the students but her. I will NEVER take her again. Pompous and arrogant. Loves to talk about herself blah blah blah.
Beatrice can be kind of crazy at times, so stay on her good side (don't be loud in class). She's an extremely easy grader. No exams or essays- just a few presentations and a binder check. As far as the class content goes, I really haven't learned much of anything because the students all teach other while she sits in the back of the class.
Class is easy! Show up and be respectful. Everyone does like three group presentations. Powerpoint is a MUST. No Homework except the presentations. A few museum trips. I didnt even go to the museum and got an A. Awsome class. Shes dry but funny in her own way.
closed minded, mean, you ask her a question shes says go look it up yourself. Because im republican she quickly started disliking me and was ignorant whenever i opened my mouth. not a nice person, loves herself and a horrible teacher does absolutely nothing.
She teaches absolutely nothing about art, which is the exact topic she is suppose to be an expert on; she only tells some stories about how she has travelled to many places and is therefore a far more supreme being than others. This class was not worth the money I spent on it. I deserve a refund.
I've tried numerous times to get used to this style of teaching and I've learned that I cannot because I am too Type A. If you are Type A, DO NOT take this class. It is for people who are Type B and very comfortable with frequent, even abrupt changes.
You teach yourself. Save your money, you can teach yourself for free
i LOVE her!!!!!!! i learned more by having to teach the class then i would have if i just sat there watching slides and listening to a teacher talk.
basically makes you teach yourself... does nothing but interrupt you during presentations and is generally not of much help. be prepared to get yourself to places i.e. art museums by yourself...if your a freshmen like i was don't take the class
She is the worst profeesor I have ever had. All she does is talk about hereself. She NEVER taught and made us do all the work. Very unclear. DROP the class if you have her. She is a miserable, horrible woman.
lady is a nut. class is an easy A, all you gotta do is do presentations about paintings, the class gives you a grade, as long as you do all presentations you will pass, its free credits in my book. Also there is a FREE trip to New York involved in it. So, if you need to fill an art requirement take it.
I've had her for 2 classes, and she is my advisor. She can be unclear sometimes, but for the most part- the classes are all powerpoint presentations, and are easy! Shes a little nutty, but shes wicked cool, and extremely intelligent.. this lady knows what shes talking about :) Love her!
Run and hide! I repeat Run and hide! she is absolutely horrible! A nasty old lady who believes she is god. The students run the class while she sits in the back of the room and yells at you.
OMG!I agree run from this woman. She is ridiculously disorganized, the stress level from all the travel and reading that coffee table book are NOT WORTH IT! I agree she seems to be an easy grader, but is the stress worth it? She gives assignments to visit museums then after you drove to Boston, paid for the museum, she decides you don't have to go!
I had this lady for class the day of Sept 11. it was WILD. None of us knew what was going on, really. We were waiting for class to begin and she ran in with her hands over her head screaming, "a war is breaking out! Run home!" It was crazy, but she was really a kind lady, a little frazzled but VERY smart. Loved her.
RUN FAR AWAY!!!!!!!!! There are MANDATORY FIELD TRIPS and she barely even tells you what you're supposed to do on them! SHE HATES GRAPHIC DESIGN STUDENTS, and CONSTANTLY INSULTS YOU, then laughs afterwards so it's less insulting. She doesn't listen to what you say. She's always right. You teach yourself. She sits in the back and goes on her e-mail.
Beatrice is a nice teacher who is very easy to pass. All you have to do is a few presentations and go on a couple trips which she does tell you about the first day and almost every class. She isn't very clear on assignments, and does just sit on her ipad, but I would too if I had to listen to the same crappy presentations over and over.
This class is a lot of work but it is also counts for 4 criteria in the degree audit. If you do the presentations and read the material, you will do well. Lots of group work. She does treat you like an adult, no exceptions. So if you work with your group & do the work - you will do well. I'd take her again.
She is a tough Professor but if you have questions ASK! Thats the best way to get through this class. She knows a lot but you need to make sure you stay on top of things and know what is being asked of you. Tough class though.
Would you fight with a bear? Yup didn't think so! I wouldn't attempt a fight/debate with her either!!!
Professor St Laurent can be intimidating (she has a doctorate from Harvard-seriously!?) But her life is art and she knows a great deal about it. If you're an art or art history major she is a really good person to know. Do you work and you'll be fine.
The class at first seemed intimidating, but realistically was not. Sure there's a lot of work and you have to show up to class and do your research. but hey it's not 1st grade, so you shouldn't be surprised! She's fair on grading, and I like how she allows the students to essentially do the grading. We clashed at the end, but was my fault
She expects a lot out of her students. She has the students teach and requires students to take trips to Boston to visit galleries, even if the location is not convenient for the student.
She doesn't put up with any excuses, but over all shes pleasant. Do the work & you'll pass with an A. Students teach class and grade all of the assignments.
The class is not hard compared to what you could have depending on number of groups (Usually 4) you have a presentation on your group turn. Yes you have to go to a museum we went to New York (The school paid for it) but its not hard work. She says whats on her mind and is extremely nice just do your work like your suppose to and you will get along
She's intimidating but if you show interest and respect, you will be fine. Don't take this class if you're not into Art History. She is funny and if you stay after class and talk to her, she's very sweet. She doesn't like slackers and it's all group projects. Very easy and as long as you do the assignments you'll be fine. Easy A. She's my favorite.
You teach and grade in this class. Prof does nothing but write the syllabus. Very abrasive personality and you won't learn much from her. Students teach the entire class. Tons of group presentations. Extremely heavy work load. Must travel to Boston 2-3 times. Everything you've heard is true, definitely avoid this prof at all costs if you can.
I loved her class. Learned so much about photography. Yes there are group assignments, aka presentations but it's easy if everyone does their part.
Beware of group projects yes indeed. Also beware of her in general it's an easy a if you have no other choice then take her you'll just have to re re re re read the syllabus to understand your assignments. She doesn't teach, you do. She is really into art history she interrupts you while you present to correct you.
Hope you like teaching your self because she sure as hell likes it. She told us that the class would be self sufficient by the third class and that she wouldn't have to be present for the class to continue. Her phone goes off during students lectures and she's too lazy to print out the syllabus. Avoid at all costs.
Mostly group work. Students teach the class, so if you're looking to learn its not coming from her. Watches group presentations from the back while interjecting with her opinions / critique/ political ideology / facilities requests etc. if public speaking is not for you do not take it. Doesnt repeat directions but if you get it wrong she'll tell ya
This class is not hard to pass because classmates grade each other. However, she is very arrogant and acts like she knows everything about Islamic Art, all of her prestigious colleagues at Harvard, etc. If you want to actually learn, don't take this class.
I would not recommend this teacher to anyone just starting at Bridgewater or at all. She's very rude and arrogant, and practically shoves her opinions down your throat. She hardly does anything for the class - it's all you and the group you're in. And beware - you WILL need to go to New York. If you have work, you better plan ahead.
This is my 5th year at Bridgewater and I have had some awful teachers but this professor takes the cake. Do not take her class! you will regret it! Opinionated Political statements at the start of every class. Makes a 200 level class have more assignments, grading criteria than all my 400 level classes combined. Groupwork, fieldtrips x2, reading
Beatrice is simply an awful professor, the class is run the entire semester by students teaching the class. She makes you go into boston twice, for two presentations, both of which she might look up at you once, the rest of the presentation she will be on her phone or iPad. Too much reading and writing for a 200-level class. Stay away!!!!!
Amazing person! Shes so unique and shared lots of interesting life stories with us about her upbringing, music taste, political opinion and everything under the sun! Shes amazing ! Shes traveled and experienced life and tells it beautify! Take this classs! The group projects are easy and straight to the point! We did a potluck too !
She was hard to get used to at first. She's straight up with you. She's tough on you and gives you heavy assignments but they weren't hard. They were just a lot of work. A few group/solo presentations and chapter summaries. She cares and wants you to do well. Can be unclear what she wants sometimes but do the work and you'll pass.
OK, she really isn't that bad. Like yeah there's kind of a lot of homework but it's easy and does not take that much energy at all. And yeah she can be rude but its low key funny watching her roast people. I for sure would not take this class again, but it wasn't as traumatic as everyone makes it out to be.
Dropped this class after just one lecture with her, she was tooting her own horn the whole time and told us that politics were mandatory to discuss. After one student gave his opinion on a certain topic she immediately shut him down and explained why he was wrong instead of looking at his view. Everyone sitting at my table dropped the class.
She likes to discuss politics but will not let you finish a sentence is she doesnt agree with what you are saying. She interrupts and critiques you in the middle of your presentations. Lectures on her own research. She is very opinionated and brags about her career for most of the course. Is not a a fan of America and will voice it.
I took this class because its the last of my core requirement and figure it be a history class based on photography....I was wrong. She doesnt teach, every week a group will do a PowerPoint of the chapters. Shes overly critical and goes on about politics which has nothing to do with the course. Shes very difficult to deal with and is rude
Dropped after 1 class. She's needlessly rude, lots of homework, and too political. If you don't agree with her, you're wrong; no room for discussion or compromise. Students primarily run the class. Completely full of herself; when she does lecture it's with lots of her own research. She's very smart but she seems like such an unhappy person.
Only Prof St. Laurent could turn an art history class on photography into a political science class, however, in a political science class there may be room for an opposing viewpoint. Not the case here. I would no more take another class of any kind from her than I would a class on democracy taught by Vladimir Lenin. Avoid like the plague!
This speaking intensive course had 6x as many writing assignments than my writing intensive courses. Im not exaggerating when I say Ive never had so much homework. Cool class if its your only one and you can dedicate all of your time and energy to it, but do not take this class just to get credits. Not worth the headache if you can help it.
STAY AWAY! This is supposed to be a speaking intensive class, but it is very writing heavy. 20 chapters in the book that you have to take bullet notes for and summarize each chapter, as well as a second book of articles that you have to summarize. She doesn't teach, but has the students teach, and also has the class grade you.
You are required to take bulleted notes on every chapter along with summaries of the main text then the same thing of the secondary text. She doesn't teach us at all we teach each other. This class is a lot to handle on top of other classes. If you are not an Art History major I don't see the point in taking this class. Not worth the stress.
She is really political, however don't let this comment discourage you from taking her class, especially her Islamic Art class that I took this Fall. In her class(es), you usually work on group projects and assessed by your peers, than the professor, which is neat, because it reduces grade anxiety and increases your confidence/overall mood.
She does not teach during her extensive lectures and posts all of her material through Google Drive (rather than Blackboard).
Stay far away from this woman at all costs. She did not teach a single class throughout the entire semester and holds students responsible for teaching the material to themselves. There are 20 chapters in the book and she requires you to take notes and write 2 page summaries for each one. Makes groups present every class instead of giving a lecture
She does not grade a single assignment. Everything is graded by peers and all she does is criticize students minor flaws. Almost every class has a student presentation explaining the material in the book. She also only uses Google Drive (is boycotting Blackboard) and projects her negative views of BSU to her students.
Beatrice is an extremely difficult prof. Each week you have to read two chapters and write a 2 page summary for each. As well, do presentations every other week. Avoid this class if you can it literally gave me an anxiety attack.
very heavy work load, she does not grade anything and makes the students grade each other. she does no work what's so ever for this class. does not use blackboard at all only uses google docs
The workload in this class is more than my capstone for BOTH of my majors, we grade our own papers and since she refuses to use blackboard we cannot check our grades at any point in the semester. I only take writing-intensive classes and this one by far is the most grueling & mind-numbing of any class I have ever taken in my college career.
Very disappointed 60+ pages of notes required for this class She does not teach the class. She assigns everyone in the class to a group, and has the groups teach the content. You will sink or swim based on your group She does not grade, has the class grade for her She does not use black board, she runs her class through a google drive
This class is incredibly disappointing and confusing. Professor St. Laurent does NOT teach - she sits in the back of the class (or zoom) and makes commentary on student presentations. She does NOT grade your work or give feedback, students do that. 60+ pages of writing for a class labeled 'speaking intensive'.
This professor does not grade anything herself. She leaves grading to peers that work in groups. She sits in the back of the class and critiques everything you do wrong in the presentation. For a speaking intensive class, there are 60+ pages of notes that need to be done and expects you to be in EVERY class or you get dropped . I don't recommend.
BEWARE! I'd rather crawl across a bed of nails and swim through bleach than endure another St. Laurent course.
As someone who has graduated and took numerous courses through Beatrice, I can say she was the most powerful and influential professor of my college career. She taught me a deep love and actual care for politics and why it matters we have our voice. She's very inspiring to young women in art in the US.
I sat in this class for 30 minutes and left. This woman is rude, has no accountability, manipulative and unreasonable. I saw this after the first day. do not take this class.
Very manipulative and egotistical, has absolutely no respect for her students. Often verbally berated students for things out of their control. Her most common threat is dropping students for meager things that are once again out of their control, as life happens.
Never made one of these, This professor is everything the reviews say. Genuinely horrible professor in every single regard. Just do not take this, It's not even worth that "perfect schedule" if this is the last class left. Just don't take it
The absolute worst professor I have ever had. She is rude and does not teach. She yelled at our group after giving us 1 week for our project not telling us what to do. All she does is start by class by arguing with us. Never taking a class with her again.
This professor is so rude and doesn't even teach. Gives so much work when every other professor gives us time to do the assignments. Doesn't even explain anything for the class and expects us to know everything.
Avoid this class unless you're willing to put in an insane amount of work. The professor doesn't teach - she just has students present the material while she criticizes everything. unstuck AI helped me stay on top of the 60+ pages of notes and summaries required.
Never take this class. This professor is very rude and she does not use blackboard. If you miss a class you get dropped from the class. I try my best with my group presentations one time and she criticized us for doing it wrong when we tried our best like she does not explain on how the assignments should be done. She does not even teach.
last one got removed so here I am again! To recap, I said that you can't miss more than one class or fail. I said she was rude and not understanding to semester circumstances, and that she will embarass you in front of your peers. Woman wouldn't cancel class even for her own scheduled hip replacement, made you go & take selfie proof of attendance.
This class is incredibly disappointing and confusing. Professor St. Laurent does NOT teach - she sits in the back of the class (or Zoom) and criticizes student presentations. She does NOT grade your work or give feedback; students do that. 80+ pages of writing for a class labeled 'speaking intensive.' If you miss a single assignment, you fail.
Extremely tough grader I took in order to fulfill a requirement. I somehow got an A only because it's a heavy public speaking class. You need to be comfortable speaking in front of everyone without notecards. Be prepared to work in groups ALOT and do not skip more than one class!!! You will fail if you do!
She doesn't teach, just has you break out into groups and grade eachother. Very old-school style of lecturing. Often corrects students over speech/grammar, but quite rude about it. Will make you take excessive notes for a grade on a 200-level course, which is absurd for something so low-level.
Alright guys she isn't THAT bad, she is a really easy grader, so its not that hard to get an A, her expectations can be a bit confusing sometimes but if you ask she has no problem explaining it. I will say workload is heavy, but you work at ur own pace through it. its not as hard as people make it seem and I took this for requirement.
BIGGEST SEE YOU NEXT TUESDAY I HAVE EVER MET IN MY ENTIRE LIFE. I CANNOT TALK ABOUT HER FOR TOO LONG OR ELSE I SWEAT FROM ANGER. SHE HAS NO EMPATHY AND THINKS SHES THE NEXT COMING OF JESUS. MAKES YOU GO INTO BOSTON TWICE AND READ AN 800 PAGE TEXT BOOK AND WRITE AN ESSAY ON EVERY CHAPTER. SHE DOES ZERO TEACHING. DO NOT TAKE THIS CLASS!!!!!!
Dr. Beatrice is a really really bad professor. Her class is really easy but she is verbally abusive and does not actually teach. The entire class is based on the "flipped class model" with the student teaching but she never actually does any teaching whatsoever.
