The best teacher I ever had, she was my teacher in biol 2102 (A &P 2 lab). She explains very well and cares about her students. exams easy so easy A. if I ever have the chance to retake the course again definitely will choose her.
She is a wonderful professor and she know her stuff. Took her for lab and she helped me a lot with my lecture.
First time taking biology she didn't have any reviews but I assumed she was great. nope thought wrong all of the homework is in the textbook you have to be specific with your answer on the hw use a lot of medical terminologies word for word if its wrong she'll count it. Study your ass off oh and her accent is thick and she'll talk so much Goodluck!
Wonder teacher! Very helpful, she know the material. I learned a lot from the lab class rather than lecture. You have to work for your grade. Gives lab homework, gives reviews for the test (very helpful) basically whatever is in the review will be in the test. It's important to always come to class. Need to study a lot. Great teacher!
Great professor. Always on time & prepared for class. You must do your part & read chapters. Provides exam study guides for each chapter & Jeopardy-style review questions on Canvas. HW and Quizzes for each chapter but they're departmental. Provides extra credit. Read, do Canvas reviews, take notes, & you'll pass.
Best professor, very knowledgeable and care about the students. Easy A if you really pay attention during the class. Extra points by HW. I got 109 as final grade! Because even I don't need the extra points I still do the HW. Didn't buy textbook but bought the code for online homework and it came with eBook. Definitely would take again if needed.
Expect to teach yourself Lots of reading Likes to be picky in her lab and if your not exactly correct with your spelling she takes off points even if your answer was close
If you're looking for an easy way out with no studying, not your choice. I found Dr. Foldi meticulous, punctual and caring. She has never been late from one single class. She can be demanding (medical terminology!) but delivers! If you pay attention in her class (and attend duh!) you will not fail. Getting A is not impossible with her, just study.
I don't understand 50% of what she talking about. Her accent is terrible. I am afraid it was a big mistake!!!! Beware!!!!
YES! her accent is very hard to understand! i dont like the way she answered people question, she can be harsh on you. She is a very tough grader, DONT miss any words on (Medical Terminology) because she will take off points. She does gives extra point but just a little bit, you need to pass her exams to have a good grade and STUDY HARD!!!
This class is no joke! Not an easy A type of class and have to study your butt. She is a very tough grader but you will learn so much. Make sure you study! She does give extra credit and do it, it will definitely help and most likely you would need it! Take it if you want to learn
I know most people find her to be very difficult but I love the way she teach. She gives you all the tools you need to pass each test and gives extra credit as well. She helps out a lot during the semester if you go to her tutorial hours. Yes you have to study hard like you do for any other class. NOTHING COME EASY!
She tries to cover too much material. In an hour class she will flip through 100 PowerPoint slides and then say that the material was covered. Tests include minor details. You will have to teach the material to yourself-as the lectures are not useful.
Dr. Foldi might come off as a tough professor but she tells the class exactly what to expect on lab exams; it's up to each student to absorb the material on their own. Seems to know exactly what she's talking about since she's been teaching the course for a long time and her method of grading prepares people pursuing a career in the medical field.
Currently taking this course, I regret it. She is constantly rude and condescending. She is a tough grader and will take off points for spelling on exams. She complains about personal issues during class and then rushes over 50 sides to "cover" the material. She is a waste of college resources. Grading technique doesn't make sense. Run far away!
She goes over everything and gives great review outlines for exams. When she teaches in class, she only goes over what we will need to know for the exam. She does grade homework hard so make sure you answer everything fully. I would take her class again.
She just reads off the power points in her lecture. Is a tough grader in her labs exams very picky about spelling. I would not take her again. Take someone else if you really want an A. Other professors are more generous than her. Her class did not help me.
Dr. Foldi is an amazing professor. She gives tons of opportunity for extra credit on each exam, kahoot and packets. She provides study guides for each chapter. She sends a weekly news letter with info about the coming week. She goes above and beyond most professors when it comes to resources. Take this class. It is challenging, but worth it.
Run away from this teacher! FAST! Ive never had to leave a review for a professor but this one is by far the worst professor I've ever had in my life! She's very rude and doesn't offer to help via email at all. Her tests are VERYYY hard and she gives a lot of homework! Do with this information what you will!!!
Professor Foldi is super rude and does not care about your grade. Her test are SUPER HARD and the only extra credit she gives is bluedoor which you have to get an 80 or above to get credit. She's super tedious when grading the labs and test. Takes points off from misspelling. My class got moved to online because of COVID, It was still hard to pass.
She was definitely one of the worst professors I had. She just reads of a power point, & tries to teach some things but its hard to understand bc she has a monotone voice. Also her test are super hard but if you want to pass JUST FOCUS on studying EACH & ALL of the study guides for each chapter you're being tested on. Also do the homework & quizes
She use to be a DR. in her country, perhaps thats why she is so miserable teaching at HCC. I asked her a question once and she snapped and said I am not giving you the answers when it is in the book, but my question had to do with a translation issue. She puts you on the spot and treats you like scum. Thankfully I was able to drop. My first W.
Just do not take this teacher. She is the worse, and very non-responsive. She lies about everything when it comes to providing facts about situations, and just because its a pandemic she still does not care if you make it or not. JUST DONT DO IT.
Dr. Foldi is very knowledgeable about anatomy, but she is rude when she speaks to students. I took A&P Lab 1 in a summer course, and yes, we know it would be a lot of information to cover in 5 weeks, but 8 chapters to cover for one exam? That is insane for a one-credit course. Her exams are 90% of the grade and the labs were 10%.
This class was one of the most stressful courses I have ever taken. After the first exam I knew it would go downhill. We had 3 exams 1 final and 12 lab reports. Exams were 80%, Final 10%, and lab reports 10%. I recommend that you look for a different professor and not waste your time with this one. She doesn't about you or this pandemic happening.
During the transition from in-person to online due to COVID, she was understanding and very communicative. For her exams use the study the review. I suggest learning how the spelling of the material because she takes points off for the exam if you don't spell it correctly. she outlines her expectations clearly. you have to work for your grade.
Lots of work for a one credit class. And majority of the grade comes from just 3 tests. That's it. Yet there are still 12 labs to be completed for a measly 10% of the grade. Fine, ok, but its annoying when the other lab classes are not this rigorous and are essentially easy A's.
Doesnt teach anything or tell you what will be on test, doesnt help or care if you fail or not. She also gets mad over mostly ANYTHING & changing her way of teaching. She will just read powerpoints not teach anything . I regret taking her
terrible teacher! She will put pressure on you, not even teach good. Make everything more harder for you. DO NOT take her unless your good with teaching yourself.
Beatrix Foldi is really professional, well organized, straightforward and always ready to talk to you and cares about students. 3 exams with 50 questions and 1 final exam. homework is on Tophat. organized as well. gives extra credits but you have to earn it before exam. As I am going to the nursing school, I'll use her lectures there for sure.
She LITERALLY goes thru the PowerPoint and tells you what to focus on and what to know for the exams! Its your job as a student to know it, read the PP, read the textbook, goggle/youtube if u have to!! You wont pass if your lazy. She cares about her students actually LEARNING the material. Stop asking whats on the exam and focus on learning
Don't let all the negative reviews fool you. Dr. Foldi is a great professor and she knows the material by heart. She has high expectations for her students and did a great job preparing me for A&P II. She does drop 3 lowest quiz and 1 lowest exam score. Be expected to spend on 10+ hours a week studying so you have to work for an A.
Her accent is very strong and it is very hard to understand her. She talks very fast and catches an attitude when you ask questions. Please save yourself and DO NOT, I REPEAT DO NOT REGISTER FOR HER CLASSES.
I'm lucky to have had Dr. Foldi for both A&P labs. She's a tough professor but only because she wants her students to truly succeed. You won't get by in the class unless you actually put in time and effort! Make sure you look over her study guides because they explain exactly what will be on the exam. Overall she's well-organized and knowledgeable!
DO NOT TAKE THIS PROFESSOR!!! she is not helpful, just reads off of her study guide and lab book doesn't really teach you which isn't helpful when the lab is suppose to help you better understand the lecture. if you care about your GPA i advise not to take her class, i regret it!
took 1308 which is for non science majors. It's not an "easy A" class. She doesn't coddle students, you have to do independent reading and use her lectures as a study guide, not for your ability to know the chapter. She drops the lowest test grade, and a couple of quizzes at end. Final exam is cumulative so be sure to hang on to your notes.
This professor isn't a bad person, major downfalls on their teaching. I don't recommend taking this class if you have a lot of things to do. You have to study extra EXTRA hard in this class. Exams were pretty complicated. Reconsider this professer.
no she only provided videos and the textbook, the assignments are only quizzes and exams, very difficult without any other resources. Also, she wont email you back.
Dr. Foldi is a complete NIGHTMARE as a teacher comes across as extremely uncaring and makes class far more difficult than it needs to be! She will not give correct answers to quizzes for study, won't answer questions just rudely directs you to syllabus(even if answer is not there). Exams are almost impossible to pass!. DO NOT TAKE THIS PROFESSOR!
DO NOT TAKE THIS CLASS! Unless you want to fail. Its impossible to pass with an A or B. This class is completely self-taught, professor spends too much time blaming students for lack of understanding instead of being a helpful resource like she's supposed to be. NO compassion, No excuses, No extra credit..
Prof, WILL NOT give correct answer to her quizzes after you've done them. So you wont truly know how to study for the exam. NO REVIEWS FOR TEST GIVEN! test does not even resemble chapter quizzes. Her test questions are reworded differently than the textbook and have double meaning, SHE ANSWERS ALL QUESTIONS WITH ATTITUDE. WORST "PROFESSOR" EVER!!!!
She doesn't explain anything! Her lectures are tough to watch because her accent is incredibly heavy and nothing from the lectures is actually on the exams. Most of the exam questions have a double meaning. Please, if you want to succeed in Anatomy class, DO NOT TAKE THIS PROFESSOR!!! She is incredibly rude and doesn't want to help you succeed.
Do not take this course during a summer class unless you are retaking it and already know everything. It is mainly textbook based and tests count for majority of your grade, there are no assignments just tests, quizzes, and a final. The professor is not helpful or supportive, and you should be ready to learn this course on your own.
Dropped out of this class because she was just being ridiculous with her grading rubric & condescending when asked questions for clarification. Gave multiple students a 0 on the 1st assignment because they didn't submit in excel, yet there was no instruction stating so. Very nitpicky about small things so she has an excuse not to grade more work.
I took biology 2101 lab online for a bit bc of covid and then we went in person. Her class is pretty straightforward and easy to pass if youre taking it with a BIOL 2301 lecture class. Lots of connect assignments, but you'll see them ahead of time. The tests are not hard, but she will not give you extra credit. Ask classmates before you ask her.
Would not recommend you take this class if you want are GPA to stay good. There was no book assigned for this class and she does not like to answer questions about past test . She teaches as if you should already know yet our class was not assigned a book and she teaches what she does not put on the test
Shes horrible. Throw her out. SO rude. Worst experience with a teacher, anywhere. Not mentally stable.
Please STAY away from this professor. She will only read What’s already available online and will not teach the students. She will get mad at you for any single thing even if you fart. Feels like you can’t even ask for help. Treats ppl like middle schoolers. Rude. Her study guides don’t help. Needs to work on herself.
Just an awful teacher.. not understanding at all during the beginning of the class she says shell answer emails within 72 hours she doesnt answer AT ALL !! Do not take this lady of you want to pass wish somebody wouldve told me that before I made it to halfway of her class
If you are thinking about taking this class run. All the bad reviews are true. She likes to test heavy on material not included in PowerPoints. She is very rude and hate when you ask questions. Honestly don’t see how she allowed to teach, she have no desire to help students pass. She just dry read all the PowerPoints.
Do NOT take this professor. Does not know how to explain well and will get upset for asking questions. Study guides do not provide enough information, basically just says to look over all of the book. Heavy accent, can barely understand. Is rude toward students.
Strong accent and very hard to understand. She gets an attitude if you ask her to clarify anything and tells you to refer to the syllabus/book. Does not give correct answers to test to study. Everything you study has a double meaning so it's very hard to pass a test. Self taught class, must have medical experience if you want to pass.
3 test 1 final exam extra credit before each exam. She also gives review before the test and tells you exactly what to focus on for the test yes she has an accent but its not hard to understand I honestly enjoyed taking her class and will definitely take her for BIOL 2102
I regret taking this class. This professor is thorough with her teaching however she teaches things that are not on the exam! Very unfair to make your student study for some thing that's not on the exam.
The class was hard, so what? I took her Anatomy and Physiology class. The class is supposed to be hard. When you get to Nursing or Med school, guess what? The classes are hard. Not easy to study for. That's the reality. Great professor, her lectures are amazing. But if you don't put in the work, you won't pass.
She is very firm, direct, and lecture-heavy. Does not believe in handouts and you must 1000% make an effort. Her class is hard because there's so much hw, 4 tests, and 4 lab exams. The amount of assignments is heavy, and not worth missing her class. She does give extra credit for exams. She's a high believer in academic integrity/success.
Best A&P teacher to take! I took her for A&P 1 lab and she was amazingShe drops your lowest test grade. Gives good reviews for the exams. There is alot of material you have to learn but she is very good at explaining what is needed to know for the test and what is notShe is also a good communicator when it comes to emailing back in a timley manner.
Get ready to read! Do your homework on time. She doesn't accept late homework. She is a nice professor!!
Avoid this professor at all costs if you want to pass anatomy. She is incredibly snappy and wastes class time ranting about suspected cheating, shutting down student questions, and being rude. Don't take her class and drop it if you've already registered. Also, she gives out zeros on exams for alleged cheating without solid proof.
She is a straight-forward teacher. If you read your online textbook, you will pass the exams. Make sure to complete the homework by the due date. Would take this professor again for A&P 2.
Run!! This professor is a bit rough and rude. She is lecture heavy and test grades weigh a lot, with a lot of homework that doesn't count much. Beware she will watch your test videos and comment on things in your environment/home. In my opinion a privacy violation. Take someone else if you can. Less stess. Her test do not match her lectures. Run!
All I have to say is, don't take her. Nothing more, nothing less.
Bad professor
This professor is the worst kind of professor you can take. She may have a doctor title, but she has no empathy. When I was struggling in her class, I reached out to her asking for help, and she was very cruel to me. I had never felt so demeaned by a professor. Her lectures do not even help with the tests, and even her "extra credit" is hard.
Dr. Foldi is the absolute best professor I have ever had. If you want to learn and you want to have a professor care about you and your future than you have to take Dr. Foldi. I will change schools if she left HCC so I can be able to take her class again.
Boring professor. Reads straight off the textbook. Test heavy, lowest test is dropped and it has 5 extra credit questions. Homework is easy. Study guides are not very helpful. Study the modules to do well. Not good at responding to emails.
she is definitely not the best teacher. I took her online class and had to drop. she scheduled exams every 2 weeks. you barely have any time to learn material for your next exam. the only plus was that she did kahoots. Please don't waste your time and money. Find a better professor .
You could be on your de*th bed. Beatrice does not care. Even if you provide medical documentation she will not let you make up a missing assignment. She lacks empathy and always have a snarky remark.
Professor Foldi is an amazing professor. 5 week anatomy course is really hard because it is super fast paced but Professor Foldi made it easy for us to learn. Definitely go to class everyday, do all the homework, and study everything that is on the study guide. Don't expect to get a good grade if you're not prepared to study!! Highly recommend.
Professor Foldi's lectures are mostly reading slides from Pearson, with little extra explanation, making it tough to prepare for her exams, which are very hard. She doesn't provide her own study guides, so you must cover everything yourself. Despite using all materials, I struggled to score well. At least, she's great at catching cheaters.
As an honest review coming from a hard-working student, she is the worst professor I have ever encountered. She has stated first day of class she did not care about us students. Do not bother going to class, you have to teach yourself to learn, she doesn't like you asking questions, no reviews, minimum extra credit..Do NOT take her class.
Professor Foldi is super clear with all her instructions. As long as you attend class everyday and study, then you will do fine on the exams. She gives out a lot of extra credits, which helped a lot. If you are not ready to study, then do not take anatomy!!
IF I KNEW 3 MONTHS AGO I WOULDVE SAVED MYSELF. DO NOT TAKE THIS CLASS BY ALL MEANS IF YOU LOVE YOURSELF. SHE IS THE WORST POSSIBLE PROFESSOR YOU CAN HAVE. fr tho don't take it if you don't want to cry
4 tests, all mcq, lowest is dropped and the first is open book. Uses lockdown and camera so NO cheating. Other than tests, there is only chapter assignments, which are simple but long. Other reviews exxagerate but class is simple as long as you stay on top of things. If you have questions, SHE WILL ANSWER and HELP. dont STUDY LAST MIN. PLAN IT OUT.
Great professor. I took her for both AP lab 1 & 2. If you take proper note in her class and watch her APR videos you are good for the exam.
I took her because she was the only one that seemed decent out of other professors, I was so wrong. Keep in mind she is not flexible, she doesn't let you make up work, no extra credit, there are no curves in her class and her due dates and times are so inconvenient if you work. For example, her exams are only open from 6pm-7:50pm.
Best professor I took for A&P 1 and 2. 4 exams that are easy, gives study guides that have everything you need (lowest is dropped), 1 final, and McGraw assignments that are simple, easy, and have a lot of time to do. 100% recommend, I only got a C because I did not study as much as I should've, so my fault lol!
How do I start? Just don't take her! All she talks about is her life as a medical student back in her country. Review materials DO NOT match her exams. Plays favorites. I can't see any positives. I took her class because it was the only free time I had. What a waste!! For your good, listen to the majority of reviews. Stay away!
She is one of the best AP Professors in HCC! She does speak quickly during her class, so be sure to only write down notes on parts that were not to your prior knowledge. 4 exams and drops the lowest grade. Do not only focus on images in her study guide. Answering both pre and post lab helps. Qns for extra credit is usually facts from her lectures.
Take her if you want to prepare yourself for medical programs. Has great knowledge about A&P, and wants her students to learn. As long as you give her the same energy back in terms of engagement and wanting to learn, she will help you. Her tests are hard but it will prepare for how it would be when you're in your medical program after HCC.
If your id is blurry on the exam she will give you a 0 in the class . DO NOT TAKE HER ! 12 of us in the class dropped her today
This was one of the worst classes. The professor just reads slides and doesn't explain well. I wouldn't take this class again unless I had no choice.
Not a great learning experience with this professor.
Professor is not great. Lectures are boring, and there's a huge amount of material to memorize. Tests are tough and make up 75% of the grade, with minimal homework (10%) and a 15% final. Overall the class is very stressful. No flexibility and would not recommend anyone take her. THIS IS NOT MEDICAL SCHOOL!
No flexibilty at all, i mean wowwww she thinks she is the only class that your taking. Alot of homework assignments and all assigments are like 30-40 question long. when. it comes to the exams she will let you use notes but the exam questions are never what you learned. i def wouldnt take her class again.
horrible professor, she gives you no wiggle room or chances to make nup any homework or exams. very strict !! alot of homework
I took nutrition class with her because it is a required class for me to take. As an international student, her lecture was barely useful for me because she has a really strong accent and I could not understand her most of the time. I basically self-taught myself and got an A in this class. Lots of homework, but allow handwritten notes for tests.
I took her Lab class and got an A. Get ready to do homework after every lecture. You won't pass or do well without studying. This class is all memorization. Don't underestimate it. Sure, she has an accent, but it's easy to understand. She gives no wiggle room for anything, so expect that and you'll be fine. I found her to be really sweet.
i won't take her again only because you have to show her the room for every exam, hated that otherwise she takes attendance only the first 2 weeks, after that you're good. explains lecture properly, and decent # of assignments. lowest exam is dropped, but you will get 0 if you don't follow the rules for the exam. exam is worth 75% which is terrible
Honestly pretty solid professor. Despite all the bad reviews on here, Her class really helped me prep for the TEAS even more than my lecture honestly. The class is definitely difficult especially with the exams. But its far from impossible to get an A if you study diligently. I recommend taking her classes if you want to actually learn.
