Her grading system is ridiculous. Your grade is basically based on your exams, which are extremely HARD. There are probably over 100 questions and a few essay questions. Online class but in-person labs with another professor. She'll drop lowest test score. She requires you take all tests in-person at the testing center. She does not believe in Honorlock whatsoever to avoid cheating. The final was taken as a class in a classroom and she proctored it, she didn't blink the whole 2 hours of the final.

I took this as a hybrid class so there was no in person lecture. I had to learn everything by myself, not a problem. Every week you meet in the lab, there is 5-7 question quiz, so be prepared! Material is heavy and labs are too. She grades fast and fairly. Weekly mastering bio assign. She has a lot of energy to teach. Class in on the harder side.

I would rate this professor a 0 if I could she was terrible with explaining the information loaded the test with a bunch of random questions in the range from 5 to 7 chapters at a time. This class is good if you teach yourself but not then be prepared to have a low grade. She does not give a lot of extra credit one percent to be exact AVOID PLEASE!

This professor was overall a really good teacher and was very understanding. The class was hybrid, so you taught yourself online and went in person to the labs. Her tests weren't that hard and she offered some extra credit at the end of the class. I would take this class again if she taught bio 2 and would recommend to anyone else.

Professor Gonzalez is a good professor. I took the hybrid course with no in-person lecture. This is a hard class but if you take notes while watching her recorded lectures, read her study guides, and take the practice quizzes, you will pass. You have to put in the work.

I would NEVER take this professor again. Awful professor and does not teach the material well. Lectures are too confusing to the point where you can't understand, and she will skip over stuff that she says we need to know. No matter how much you study and memorize material, she says you will only get a C. Exam questions aren't even what we studied.

She is not a bad professor, but not going to actually teach you. She is disorganized with the material and her lectures are not detailed. If u need things explained to you... dont take her. She is very reasonable and flexible with due dates, but test questions are complex.

I, along with other students, were serious about biology and respectful- in turn, her tone often felt very disrespectful despite no one displaying bad behavior. Discouraging to students seeking help. Practice quizzes and material do not fully line up with test; there are questions that lack context whatsoever, which we are not taught to deal with.

Professor Gonzalez was an average teacher. Her lectures definitely need updating as they rarely go along with the exams but they aren't to hard overall. The labs are easy but if you make a mistake be prepared to get yelled at and given condescending looks.

Professor Gonzalez was helpful in guiding the online tasks, although her lecture slides were sometimes all over the place. The content of the class is quite hard, but Professor Gonzalez provided many study tools for us. During lab, she explained the concepts well and was very friendly and witty.

Overall good teacher. I took online-hybrid (lectures were online, but still had labs). She was kind however her organization of the modules was extremely frustrating. The powerpoints and lectures she provided were difficult to navigate. I suggest taking her class, but using the textbook (Mastering) for learning instead of her lectures. Kind though

I would watch her online lectures only after I watched 2-3 videos on the same topic from YouTube; CrashCourse and Amoeba Sisters are your best friends. The exams in total are worth 70% of your entire grade, so making sure you do every other possible assignment is crucial. The first two exams will be harder than the last two; final was okay.

If I could give a 0 I would. I have been a student for three years and have had a fair share of awful and unique experiences with professors, however this professor makes those instances feel trivial. Her lectures are completely irrelevant in regards to the exam and she goes on tangents for longer than she actually teaches. Rude and unprofessional.

This professor has an overly strict lab policy. I forgot my manual once but still attended, completed the work by hand, and received zero credit. She even said it would have been better if I claimed I was sick. This feels unfair and discouraging, since it punishes effort instead of supporting students who want to learn.

Professor Gonzalez is sweet and cares for her students. If you show up to her lectures, take those Pearson assignments seriously, and do the practice quizzes, you will get a good grade. I asked her for a letter of recommendation, and she gave me an amazingg one and even gave me advice for transferring. If you don't understand a topic, just ask.

Low key Prof. Gonzalez seemed scary at the beginning of the semester, but she's actually not bad. She's definitely going to say things how they are and not sugar coat them. You'll need to do a lot of the learning yourself but she's good at organizing material and providing clear expectations. She doesn't grade harshly and offers some extra credit.

This course was really easy. Granted it's only an elective but biology is really easy to get confusing and her lectures and notes made it decent to catch up on. Weekly quizzes, homework and discussions every couple weeks. Nothing too crazy that you have to go out of your way.

Lectures are hard to follow, but a sweet professor. You can tell she loves biology and her students but her answers to questions can go on for too long. She posts practice quizzes on each unit and lists topics you should know for each exam. There's often end of lecture or pre-lab lectures that are for credit

Exams are most of your grade, but you can pass without doing well on them. If you want an A, prepare to study, but if you do, you should be fine. Study materials are very helpful. While attendance is not mandatory, there are super-easy quizzes based on the lecture that you get to do in groups.
