Fun class. Good discussion. Number of group projects. Bit of reading, small book. Small homework (about 5 ?s per reading) on reading. Short essay tests potentially near every day on reading hmwk (easy if do work cause you can use it during the essays)

Becky is a very good teacher. She offers many opportunities for extra credit. Work is set at a good pace. Class is always fun with her. Don't take psych from anyone else

This is by far the best teacher at MJC I have taken a lot of them and she is great. She will go the extra mile to help a student and provides every rescource needed for students. One of the nicest and clearest professors on campus. An asset to teaching.

Becky Ganes is indeed an excellent teacher. She is very caring. She is a REAL christian, but unlike other teachers at MJC (those spreading the lie of evolution) she doesn't try to force her views down the ears of impressionable college students. Her class is a big learn. Do all you reading!

Awesome teacher - helpful and challenges you

Best teacher ever, helped me learn how to study effectivly. Always willing to help. As long as you read the chapters before you come to class. Made the class fun and exciting, I never missed one class meeting.

It was easy to get an A in this one. All you have to do is complete the modules even if they are not collected. Then you can use them on the quizzes! She was an awesome teacher and related info. to real situations. I would reccommend her to everyone.

This class was so fun! She is an awesome instructor. She gives very clear, concise lectures (even though she sometimes messes up the PowerPoint, but it makes it even funnier), and she is very clear on her assignments. Excellent and interesting class, and a great teacher. Take her!

I got a 99.9% in the this class. It wasn't easy, but that proves that if you go to class and do the homework, it's not impossible to get an 'A'. All her test questions are from the lecture or the questions that she put in the sylabus about the book. She is very clear and very helpfyul.

Do your reading, go to all the classes, there are extra credit assignments available to raise up a grade, and she lets you use 3x5 cards on the exams. She truly cares about her students and will help you if you need it. B/c her class is so large, she does have PA that she relies on to assist on the extra tutoring sessions.

Great teacher, learned alot. Knows her stuff. Notes are in order you just copy them. I got a B in the class and really did not try. Test are easy, mid term was easy, and final was not hard. Read your notes and there is no way you can fail. I would take her again.

I LOVE Becky Ganes, she was by far my favorite professor at MJC. Really, cool, organized, and understanding, As long as you do everything you can to earn the A, Becky will do everything she can to make that happen for you! If your intimidated by the subject of Psychology, take Becky, she avoids all the wierd stuff and gets to the real stuff.

do everything she recommends you do. serious if she says take an article, you do it, if she says review module questions, you do it. i wish i had, she knows what she wants and wants to help you give it to her. shes great.

She helped me may this class worthwhile, but helped me understand the meaning of it. It's a great class to take with her. If you do what she says, you will pass the class easily.

She was a great teacher, she kept it interesting, and wanted you to do well in her class. She would provie TA taught study sessions. She would preview your papers for you. Good class. Great teacher.

Definetly take this class with Becky, its really straightforward just do the Module hw and go to the study sessions for the tests. There are 3 tests, one project, and 10 in-class quizzes. Interesting and easy if you stay on task.

This professor is amazing! She is very thorough and will not go on until everyone understands. In summer she has 3 exams, 10 in class quizzes, class activities, and module work. She provides practice tests and PA study sessions! Excellent teacher take her if possible, she is worth waiting for!

Great Great Teacher.Its a must you attend her class though but its well worth it. If you do the work and study you will get a good grade. You HAVE TO take her class psych will never be the same . You will love it.

if you do the homework, you can use it for your quiz. for the tests you can have a 3X5 card. why wouldnt you take her. you dont even have a final. also, you learn a lot of cool stuff.

oh. my. gosh. awesome. i took her for a 5 week summer class and i really really enjoyed it! She makes the class interesting and I enjoyed taking her class. DO the module questions (they help!!)and take notes. Her class really isn't super hard, so if you do everything she asks, you'll pass!! Plus, she's fun and pretty.

Took Ganes in Spring of 2007, she is a good teacher.. there are quizzes, tests.. just go to class and listen to the lectures, overall pretty easy if you do the work and pay attention.

EXCELLENT - gives clear expectations and honest evaluations. If you do what she says you need to do you'll pass without any problems. VERY cautious about cheating. VERY intolerant of rudeness and disrespect which is great - totally eliminates the possiblity of having to put up with jerks in class

Interesting, humorous, easy to listen to.... very good about telling you what she expects and giving you a grade that you've earned. Come to class, do the work, get an A.

I took her class when she first transferred to online homework with mypsychlab.com and it made things so much easier. I would suggest doing the "study plan" it provides. It doesn't take long at all and you really remember everything. Her lectures are interesting and simple, nothing that makes you want to die from info. overload. Highly Recommended!

Awesome professor. Simply awesome. Completely unbiased, always chipper, always willing to help. Neurotic to a point, but it's happy neurotic--if that doesn't make sense, just parse it as 'undefinable good quality'. I wish I had another semester to take another class from her. =)

I love Mrs. Ganes. She is an amazing, optimistic teacher. She always has interesting stories, and covers really interesting topics. Though she doesn't just hand out A's, it is definitely a do-able class.

Mrs. Gaines has an interesting teaching style. Her tests are straight forward, but she seems to go into depth on everything in the study guide, so know fine details. She makes the class interesting, even some of the boring stuff.

This is a fun class. The work itself isn't hard to do. There's typically one chapter's worth of work per week. Lecture is always interesting and she's a nice woman. Take this class.

I took this class online. I really enjoyed the fact that Professor Ganes interacted with all the students. The coursework is not too difficult but you must put in the time to study and prepare for exams. She is a great professor and I wish she taught some of the other courses I need, like Sociology or Philosophy.... (smile)

Fun class, Mrs. Ganes gives off a very loving vibe. She's just such a sweet, caring person. Class itself is easy, 3 tests, online hw every week (amounts to a chapter), one "big" project. Lots of extra credit opportunities, only true downside is attendance is a MUST, as there are Clicker quizzes often. Though that's only a downside for lazy failures

This was a great class whether you are a social science major or not. You learn through doing your own field experiments. Becky shows you how everything applies to your own life. 3 exams, 1 group projects. Lots of extra help. Take this class!

Ganes is such a nice person! She cares about all of her students even when she has a full class of 300 people. She will help you with any question you have. Take the online practice quizzes, they will help you extremely. READ THE BOOK!!! She plays Jepardy before each test which is fun AND helps because she asks the same questions on the tests.

Becky is so nice. She is very informative and her power points helped a lot. The tests are from both the lectures and the book. You should also pay attention during jeopardy.. that helps a lot. The study sessions were also very helpful!

I missed two online exams due to WebCT errors and Professor Ganes was glad to re-open them for me, and gave me four extra days to complete them! She is committed to her students, and I would love to take more classes with her.

She made this class very interesting. Textbook are used a lot. Test are easy if you attend one of her student aids' study session. They basically give you answers. If you do not like to read do not take this class. She requires reading chapters and taking a quiz online. Quiz can be taken as many times as you want.

Becky is awesome! Easy class, very helpful, TAs are awesome. She sets up the class so that you do little assignments frequently, which helps you learn. I recommend her to everyone who has to take psych.

Mrs. Ganes is a really good professor. She lectures with clear details and goes through things in a breeze. This is an extremely fast paced class so make sure your ready for it. The only thing that was difficult for me to adapt to was her teaching style. She moves so fast through ideas that it can sometimes be hard to follow.

Loved her! I took her summer class while i was In high school and it was so easy. the reading does help a lot, but she lets you know exactly what will be on the tests that aren't long or hard at all. there are no papers, just one short essay question at the end of every exam. and she gives that to you beofre the test.

I love this instructor! If you are taking research methods go with her! She switches every other semester with Lee Kooler. She is worth the wait! =)

Becky is a really nice person. She keeps you interested in the lecture and there weren't many times I got bored. The class is easy to pass if you just pay attention and do the reading.

Her lectures are always very interesting. She has an essay question for each test but always posts the possible questions ahead of time. All in all a good teacher. The only thng is the expense of this class is a bit excessive. You have to buy the book, a clicker, note cards, have to print out a 65 page syllabus ect..

Ms. Burns may be the best teacher I have ever had at MJC! She is extremely helpful, nice, patient, and fair. Most of the information comes from her lectures, which are very engaging. You may or may not have to read the textbook depending on how easy psychology is for you. She also offers extra credit.

Ms. Ganes is very friendly, and her lectures are always organized and easy to understand. She does offer extra credit, and has TA's to offer extra help to those who need it. Just be prepared for the cost of the class, because it can run high. You have to buy the textbook, a clicker, and print out a lengthy syllabus.

She explains things great! Exams aren't too hard. She does allow you a cheat sheet so as long as you do it you'll be fine on the exams. Not much homework but a lot of online quizzes due at inconvenient times.

Becky is the best professor I've had at mjc. Ive taken numerous online classes and she's the only teacher that made feel like I was learning from a person not a screen. Just read the chapters participate and you'll pass. This class was lots of fun and you learn very useful ideas and theories. Each week is discussion & 50pnt quiz.

I loved this class. She used information from the textbook to do her tests so reading the textbook IS mandatory for success. Just do the pre-tests and study the Key terms at the THINK spot or write them down and study them and you'll be fine. I enjoyed it and I learned so much.

I loved her class and how she made it fun also, I had been out of school for awhile, so the extra credit courses and help offered was a blessing for me. Definitely take her class!

I could honestly say this was probably one of the best professors I had ever had. She incorporates every ones learning methods into her lectures. From day one you will be drawn into the class and never lose interest. Tests are easy, work is easy and also provides a ton of extra credit as well. She makes psychology fun, please take her class.

This class was my first college class ever and she definitely made my first impression of college amazing. She's super helpful and she makes sure everyone conmpletely understands how to do the assignments and she offers alot of extra credit. Ganes class was very interesting, she made sure everyone was keeping up. She is not the best professor I have had but she also is not the worst. You definitely have to put in a lot of studying to pass her tests and online quizzes. But if you are good at that then you're set!

I took a Psychology class last semester with L. Kooler and did not pass, and i took the same class with B. Ganes and passed no problem! Her teaching style is awesome, with 3 exams 1 project and really no homework. Lots of extra credit opportunities. She lets you use a 3x5 index card on your exams as well! I would recomend taking this class!

Professor Ganes does a great job in her lectures. They are well prepared and can be entertaining at times. She is honest and does a good job answering your questions in class. Make sure you take advantage of her extra credit, there is plenty. Pay attention in class and make sure you make a good flash card for the test and you should do great.

She's passionate about psychology and gives good lectures. The homework is mostly online but it's easy. You'd do well to read the book but you can scrape by on the lectures. Uses iclickers. Upbeat, good sense of humor. Good class.

I took her class online. The discussions are fun, the quizzes are easy, and she gives feedback when she grades your stuff. She seems to really care about her students too. I had some mental issues and mentioned it in a few posts, and she took the time to encourage me. Highly recommended.

I took her class not expecting to have a good time, but I truly enjoyed her class! She makes it so you really want to do the work and she doesn't make it hard at all. She's so nice and very helpful, I wish I could take it again! the textbook is through REVEL so you dont need a hard copy unless that's your thing. Overall pretty easy class.

Professor Ganes is one of the sweetest, most enthusiastic professors I've ever had. The material is not too confusing so long as you do the reading and see that you are doing well on the clicker questions.

She was one of my favorite teachers from last semester! She actually cares about her class and is very helpful. Clickers do make up a big part of you grade in the class so be sure to always have it with you. Her lectures are really entertaining and she tries to get the class involved when learning by doing small group discussions. She was awesome!

Read the material, participate in the discussions, and you'll do well. She had a Facebook group that offered great interaction with your classmates as well. Class is generally easy. You'll have questions at the beginning of class or at the end of class. The only thing that's difficult are her exams, which are 3 exams of 75 questions each. At least they're multiple choice.

You have to read twice a week on the online book and take quizzes, that is the only homework. This class is the reason why I changed my major to psychology, I definitely recommend!

Mrs. Ganes is a great professor! Lectures are a great way to gain more points; she uses iClicker for points so make sure you have one. The work load is not bad, but you do have to work... duh its college. There are 3 unit tests with the use of one 3x5 card for notes and a chance for extra credit, and 10 small journal entries.

Professor Ganes makes the information very easy to understand by simplifying the terms, people, and ideas used and making connections between them. She is very nice and funny! Her classes are enjoyable and there is always something to learn in her class.

Great professor with great lectures! I had her during my first semester at MJC in 2016, and will be taking another class from her this summer. Her lectures are great. She definitely loves what she teaches. A big key to this class is taking notes in lecture and while reading the text. Participation is important because of clicker quizzes!

Rebecca Ganes gives good lectures with a good amount of involvement from her students, including Clicker questions (important for your grade), comments from the class and group assignments/games. She used Revel for her textbook and I enjoyed using it. It was intuitive with the option to listen to chapters as an audiobook.

Ganes is a great instructor! The course is not easy (nothing is psychology is!) but she does everything she can to help you succeed, while remaining fair. She often leaves feed back when she grades projects, and offers tips to do better. She provides study guides for tests as well, which is incredible. 5 stars!

Revel is kind of pricy and reading the revel homework and taking the quizzes can be difficult if you get behind. Professor Ganes is amazing and really engages you during the lectures. Rent a clicker from the bookstore.

work can get overwhelming if you procrastinate, stay on top of things and you will do fine! exams are a huge part of your grade so be ready to study, and show up to get lecture notes. clickers are required and there will be a daily clicker quiz that you cannot make up without extra credit, attendance is mandatory!

Prof. Ganes is very nice and had an enjoyable course to take. Tests were a struggle, you only receive 75 minutes per 75-question test. She is very strong on discussions and the online workbook Revel, which was not my favorite to navigate. She made up for it by having clear grading rubrics, and always providing very thorough and uplifting feedback!
