really funny and interesting
she is hilarious and knows exactly what she is talking about
great teacher i think i've been spoiled as a fresman because i doubt the rest of my teachers will be this good
No Comments
total feminist. other than that she is a great teacher and a nice lady....but you have to be able to take some of her comments in stride. alot of what she says in class has a feminist spin on it and you have to learn things that way for her tests.
She is a good professor but her tests are hard. If you are looking for an easy A, don't take her.
Greaaat teacher :D VERY VERY entertaining and educational class. Every student should take this.. other SOC teachers are boring.
Great teacher, KNOW THEORY and be able to apply everything. She's very smart and can explain things- making sense!
Any professor who can make something interesting and make sense is excellent in MY book. As a senior, she is THE BEST professor on the UAB campus, and her brains/personality make her attractive. Take her and you will be spoiled!!
A bust ass course. Don't think because you're a woman it will be easy because it is NOT! Lots of theory and LOTS of reading and discussions. Sometimes things get rather heated. This class will bust every stereotype you ever had. Cathartic!!!
the best. this is what college is all about
Don't worry guys--she's not a feminist! She is a smart ass though... in a good way. She knows what she's talking about and makes the class really interesting. She is VERY funny. Tests are straight from her notes. When she says to learn theory--LISTEN!
ok she is a feminsit and maybe a little off the wall if you get my drift. Men have no fear she want hit on yall. But she is pretty cool. and not real hard.
She was an easy teacher in sociology but in women's studies she is hard. She soesn't grade papers on time nor does she post quizzes til the end of the semester. She is a feminist with some extreme points of view, I don't recommend anyone take WS unless you share the same extreme points of view
Makes her classes pretty interesting. Women Studies class is difficult, but it challenges your ideas. Overall interesting, but somewhat repeatitive. Great professor and really great person. Intro class was interesting and pretty easy as long as you attend class.
Dr. Trigg is one of the best professors that I have had at UAB. She is very informative, very clear and extremely helpful. No reason to get anyhting less than a B.
She's awesome, among the best instructors that I have had. She gave numerous opportunities for bonus and her tests are straight lecture.
This class could have been interesting but it was something about her that kept me completly bored. She only gave a midterm and a final, both of which were on the difficult side. I wouldn't recommend taking this class for an easy A. In my opinion her teaching style is nothing more than average.
The class was pretty easy. I made an A. I never read the book but just went to class everyday. She takes attendance and expects you to be on time. The class consists of many online quizzes. And a midterm, project and final. She grades pretty leniently but you have to put some kind of work in.
Dr. Trigg is the best. She is so silly! She gave extra credit pts and always had a joke for us!11 I love her class and she is awesome!!!!
Class was sort of hard, she likes to ask tricky questions. gives some bonus work.
Gives lots of help and handouts through course web site. But you got to attend class. She's funny and keeps your attention

Trigg is an intresting and funny professor but people fail to realize that isn't going to help you pass. You must attend class, she easily gets off the subject, the class is not easy at all. It is possible to pass with very hard work...
Although Trigg is a funny person, always has a joke every class period, and talks to the class about her mother and people in her life as if the class and her were related, you still need to pay attention. The class ( Marriage and the Family) is harder than most realize. There are no study guides for
She is hilarious. Gives lot of examples that help you understand. Got to attend class though and her tests are not easy. An A is possible if you read and go to class.
Easy A if you try. Come to class and PAY ATTENTION. Bonus questions on her tests come from lectures and outside readings. She was an awesome and very funny teacher.
She was a pretty good teacher. Make sure you go to class and attempt bonus's and she'll help you out in the end! She lost one of my quizzes and it dropped me a letter grade, but eventually i harrassed her enough and she found it. She almost screwed me over really bad, but its ok.
This woman is amazing! You have to work HARD in her classes, but at the end of the semester if you've made a good grade you know that you have really earned it. She is so lively and hilarious that she really makes being in her class a pleasure.
As you can see, I've had three classes with her and did well on all three. She is a really cool professor and will do just about anything for you if you just try. She challenges her students, but that is why we came to college anyway, isn't it? I'll have her again and again. She actually made a sociologist out of me. That's saying a lot.
trigg rocks
Tells stories to relate the topic she is discussing. Extra credit on tests is from lectures and/or handouts. Willing to help you out if you just ask. Seems hard to approach but is really not if you give her a try. Pay attention and attend class and you will pay.
Trigg assigns several readings that MUST BE READ BEFORE CLASS. But she gives the class the opportunity to break into groups to discuss the readings and summarize their discussion. I like her because she is a very straight forward person that does not "****" neither does she tolerate it. Read and do participate. Take home tests were given.
Trigg is an amazing instructor! If you do your reading and listen in class, you're sure to get a fair grade! I mean this lady even gives bonus work. The thing I liked most was that even speaking in front of a huge class she seemed to make eye contact and asked questions with every student that appeared interested enough to do the same.

I like her straightforward attitude. If you take notes and study you should have no problem. As long as you don't approach her right before the test, she is willing to answer any questions you may have.
Try not to let your bias show if you don't agree (a good rule of thumb with any prof. but esp Trigg)
she sure knows her sociology and she has pretty funny personal stories.
B. Trigg is a good professor with a great deal of dry humor. Always armed with a joke, if you pay attention and show up to class, the work isn't all that hard. She does like tricky questions, but that's kind of the basis of a class largely built around theory. Also, plenty of bonus opportunities!
She cares. She is a dedicated teacher. She knows her stuff. Her tests are very hard. Even the best students will work hard for a decent grade. No way to coast through this teacher. If you are serious about Sociology, she'll bend over backwards for you...but, she won't make it easy. A quality professor for the serious student. Wooses beware!
Treats you students like they are is high school. WIll have you chasing points, 1/2 points and 1/4 points. Rigid. Authoritarian. Makes everything harder than it needs to be. Convolutes concepts. Quizzes every chapter. Tests are hard, based on lecure details she hopes you will miss. Some teachers enjoy seeing students do poorly. She is one of them.
Trigg is awesome. One of the best teachers I've had in my entire lifetime!
Enjoyed the class
She was a great teacher. This was a harder class but if you pay attention in class and read some of the book you would do good on tests. I couldn't stand her SI shadow though... but maybe if you guys take her class you won't have to put up with her. I really think you should take this teacher!
She is a tough teacher. She does quiz a lot. But if you read the chapters, take notes, and come to class you should have no trouble. It is what a college class should be like, not a give me class. And anyone who says they didn't like her class was probably just lazy.
Take it from someone else unless you are a glutton for punishment. Be forwarned.
Great lecturer. Lots of passion in the class room. Not a sleep through course. Must be willing to READ! But a very fun class. Highly recommended.
Took this course on as a saturday 8 am class. Fun course. Had to do a number of assignments, but got to pick which ones to do. Course was interesting and insightful. Really fun teacher.
She is hilarious but don't be fooled she is also tough. Read the book and come to class if you want to make a good grade. Overall she is a really good teacher.
She is HILARIOUS!!!!!! I looked foward to coming to class. She is really fun. But be prepared to study too! Gives several chances for bonus points. I would love to take her for another class!
hard to maintain good grade teach more difficult than what it really has to be
I loved the class. She taught well and I learned a lot.
She was my favorite professor this semester. She is difficult and you must learn the material in order to pass her class, but she makes it so fun you will not want to miss the class. She is very flexble and will work with you. A+++
She offers a lot of bonus and if you show up you have a good chance of at least getting a C. Plus she uses really funny examples.

I Love professor Trigg! She is the fairest teacher and I know. And, ALL of the sociology SIs are great! Especially, Sarah, Meghan, Stephanie, and Dalvin!
Excellent. Has SI to help. really wonderful. Sarah is great.
My favorite professor this term. She is hilarious. Really cares about her students.
She is an excellent teacher and she cares about her students. She is a very strict teacher but, if you follow her instruction, you will be fine.
hilarious - expects you to come to class and do some work but makes it interesting and fun - best teacher I had last term
I loved this class. She is a great professor and knows the materials. She is very helpful and is always cracking jokes here and there. This is my first professor that made the material interesting. Her test are all applied so studying is required but she also gives lots of bonuses.
The very best!!!!! Easy A if you go to class. Cares about her students and it really shows. Funny too.
She was an awesome teacher! I could have done better in her class if I would have studied a little more, but she did a great job teacher her stuff! And she was hillarious!!!! Take her!!!
Very knowledgeable, but very boring class. You have to attend class and read the book!
Wow! Great professor - relates the material to real life through examples - i can't believe someone wrote have to come to class and read the book as though it were a negative thing
I loved having Trigg for intro to sociology. she really encourages the students to do their best. She really pushes for S.I. attendance, but it helps!
great class - great professor -
I Love Professor Trigg. She is a very cool professor, She expects you to learn but that is what college is about,The class is interesting and if you go to class and SI You Will Have An Easy A. and on top of that you will have a better perspective on how society works. I employ all to take the class and Go TO SI!!!
She's basically a stand up comedian that knows sociology extremely well. If you don't know how to apply sociology, then you won't do so hot on her 3 tests and 13 quizzes. Definitely go to class, she does WebCT notes for most chapters, and has lots of chances to get bonus. She is one of my favorite professors, but I dislike the quizzes and tests.
she is the most amazing teacher I have ever had!! absolutly hilarious!!! LOVE LOVE LOVE her! I've actually considered changing my major to sociology because of her!
Her quizzes are easy as crap and she randomly offers bonus questions that anyone could answer without prior knowledge. However, her tests ar emuch more in depth and comprehensive. Studying seriously isn't required until test time, then its a must. Overall she's a great teacher and could probably pass off as a comedian. I'd take her again.
Very strict on attendance and about being on time. Quizzes/Tests are multiple choice, easy if you pay attention to her lectures. Bonus opportunities are very fair. Not that helpful when you DO need help. She likes to teach the material as gospel truth, she claims its just the material but you can tell she believes it and wants you to believe it too
Good teacher, very funny. The only thing i don't like is that she is very strict on attendance. You have to have an excuse for everyday that you miss. So if you've got some emergency, you better find some written excuse or you're getting points counted off. Other than that she's pretty good
YOU MUST ATTEND CLASS & BE ON TIME!! Pay attention and attend SI(That impresses her). Do her bonus assignments - you'll see test questions about them! She is hilarious in her lectures, but you must UNDERSTAND the theories and not memorize definitions. This isn't an easy A class, but if you have to take soc. & want to learn, take her. She's a blast
very very funny! she makes her classes interestng...make sure you take notes and do good on your quizes..do your bonuses cuz they can really help your grade!!
Love her!!!! Her lectures are full of humor. Tests are a little hard but real doable if you study.
I LOVED her! She is halarious and going to her class is actually fun. Be prepared to laugh alot! Not to mention the material is SO INTERSTING!Attendance is mandatory and class is fairly easy if you study the material.
Show up for every class, do not sit in the back rows (she doesn't like that), take notes and do the bonus assignments. She gives LOTS of opportunities for bonus points! Not an easy A, you do have to study! But she's a great professor and really does enjoy her field.
Trigg is a tricky! She really challenges you to think and wants you to learn. I think she likes to scare you at first with her knowledge and the material. By the end, I realized she wasn't so bad and I learned something.
Professor Trigg is amazing! I look forward to her class because the material is actually interesting and she is very funny. The tests aren't too hard but you should read the chapters. This also helps with the quizzes. She gives bonus material and in-class participation points. GREAT CLASS AND GREAT TEACHER!!!
I love this professor!!!!! She is great. Come to class, attendance is taken through the mandatory clicker. She gives quizzes on each chapter but if you attend class they should be a breeze. The quizzes come from the book and her notes but the test are strictly notes. There are several opportunities to receive extra credit. She covers all of t
OPINIONATED. FEMINIST. FULL OF HERSELF, BUT SHE IS EASY. GIVES POINTS AWAY. IF YOU CAN STAND HER RANTS SHE IS AN EASY A.
canned jokes, opinionated lectures, full of herself, did not seem very knowledgable to me. book was more clear than what she had to offer. got an a like i usually do but would never take her again
Trigg is awesome! knowledgeable and keeps with with current issues - Personally, I think she is incredibly open-minded.
Great professor! Lays everything out very clearly.
I learned so much in this class. My vocabulary increased. I put around 4 hours every week into this class because she does a reading assignment every week based on journal articles. She has quizzes but as long as you read the articles you will be fine. There is also a paper (4-6 pages). No textbook
Good news...you can make an A in this class...show up, sit down (DO NOT get up during lecture), listen, take notes, read book, take quizzes, do bonus assingments, study for tests, and you should do fine. Sounds like a college course, right? You may learn something useful along the way. I really enjoyed her class.
Trigg is awesome. Go to class, read the chapters, do the bonus, and pay attention to theory in the quizzes. You can make an A. She tells stories in class THAT ACTUALLY GO WITH THE MATERIAL. You will actually learn something in this class and probably enjoy it. Don't be late to class or leave during lecture though. She thinks it's rude!
Take Trigg in the May session. EASY A!! !Attend every class, pay attention, and do the bonus and the least you will get is a B.. also learn theory..it helps and makes the material actually interesting.
I have taken 3 classes, Soc 100, Soc 200 and WS 100 from Professor Trigg. She is a wonderful Professor. She loves what she does. Her class is a challenge. But she is very interesting. She is very fair grader. Attendance is necessary. I will take more classes from her even if I do not need them. She wonderful and I love her!!!!!!

She did barely ANY work for or class and was unashamed of it even calling herself lazy. We turned in like 20-30 assignments and got maybe 5 back. She gave hard tests that she ended up having to scale like 2-7 points. She did not teach but read her notes. She didn't seem knowledgeable. Her text was ridiculously slanted toward the left. She was awful
I had no particular interest in sociology at first, but Trigg made learning fun. She uses real-life, easy-to-understand examples. Her tests are comprehensive and tricky but if you know how to apply terms and definitions, you'll be fine. I had many tell me I wouldn't make it in this class but I got an A. Loved the class, Loved Trigg. Take her!
I have taken several classes taught by Prof. Trigg. All have been very interesting and I found her to be very fair in testing and grading. Expect to study and expect to learn.
Prof. Trigg is the reason I am pursuing a minor in Sociology. I tried to fit another one of her courses into the next semester, even though i didn't really need it. Her dedication to the science of sociology and the success of her students is unmatched. She is EXTREMELY helpful. Also, don't be an idiot. Read. Go to class.
Fantastic teacher. I was an awful student, but I read and tried as best as I could and she helped me out when ever I asked. I don't know if she'll still be teaching though, she was diagnosed with cancer after her mother died and had to teach the class over Skype and with the help of other sociology professors.
I had to end up dropping the class because she obviously didn't know how to fix webct.(this was for an online class)
Great professor.
Becky Trigg was one of the most inspirational and truly great professors I have yet to come across. She is the reason I pursued a degree in Sociology, and had a profound impact on my life. I feel extremely grateful to have known her, and sorry for all who never had a chance to. Rest in peace, Professor Trigg.
