A very easy class if you just keep up with the papers. This has to be one of the nicest teachers I have had in my college experience. I made a B in the class just because I slacked off some. If I tried I think it would of been a easy A. If you are having problems with any paper she will be more than happy to help.

Awesome Teacher
Very nice teacher.I took this as a distance learning course. It's an easy A, with a lot of extra credit opportunity.
Very nice, alot of work but your final is a paper of 1500 words on some of the authors you study..is very nice and gives tons of extra credit.
Often scattered, and will get off topic very easily. She is an easy A, but for students who are committed to learning, I cannot give her an endorsement.
She's great. Took her class Distance Learning. Keep up with the readings and you'll do fine. She makes it easy to make an A and the class is interesting. She's always available and responsive if you need help.
Dismal. It's her policy to take off points if you don't get your fellow students to peer review your papers. Naturally, the students in this class are lazy and can't tell an A from a C anyway, so they don't bother. The responsible ones have to suffer due to an idiotic policy. AVOID.
Nice teacher. The online class requires a lot of participation and assignments. Discussion sessions are uninformative and often off topic.
You can do all the readings for the entire class in 2 weeks. Then the rest of the class is just busy work. Discussion boards, 2 papers, 4 quizzes and a test. The beauty of the online class is all tests are online so you can google and sparknote your answers. Made an A without reading the novel. Only read 1/2 of other readings! Take it!
Excellent professor and the class was a breeze. She offers opportunities for extra credit, take them, it could mean the difference between an A and a B!
A great D/L professor and person in general; always responded to e-mails promptly. Her class is a breeze as long as you don't fall behind. Grades are based on quizzes, bulletin boards, a two-part midterm, two papers and a couple of other little activities to help you pass! Nice lady, and when she gives you the chance for extra credit TAKE IT!
Good DL class. Prof. Villarreal is super nice, very helpful and answers emails quickly. LOTS of stuff to do here-busy, busy, busy. Take all the extra credit you can. Stay on top of it and you will do well. Read the books/poems for your papers - Sparknotes the rest. It is an easy A but it was also time consuming from the numerous assignments.
She is a very good and fair professor, she is avaialble in class and at the learning center. I would take another one of her classes again.
Brilliant Teacher. Easy and fun A+
One of the best English teachers I've ever had. She genuinely has a passion for literature and it is even portrayed to those taking a distance learning class. She is extremely helpful and knowledgeable. I also found her to be very fair in grading our papers. Highly recommend!!
Great teacher. Very available for the online version of the English Comp II. Students should show effort, complete the work and you will get a grade that is equal to your effort.
She is very smart and quick about grading. Gives you a few chances to earn extra credit. Lots of busy work. Really hard on grading your papers, and finds something new wrong every time. I wouldn't take her again.
Freakin' Awesome! I have never done well in writing classes, but she is so thorough in what she expects. Mind you, this is still not an easy A.But-if you are not a natural writer, find your writing teachers vague in their expectations in your papers, and have the time to commit-she's for you!(Distance)
Was very helpful with the essays. Will meet with you in person to help. Is very nice and gets the grades to you quick. Interesting class. I took online class and it was very organized. Just the right amount of work for the class. The short 6 week class is very doable.
My bestie took this class online and I took it on campus. She is a writing major , I'm science, and we both love this teacher. Fun and knowledgeable, she gives you EVERY chance to make an A. She gives paper grace periods, extra credit, and very fair grading. She loves her job and it shows! So glad she was my 9am and not the other classes!
Online British Literature course. Read Frankenstein and Sense and Sensibility and lots of poems. Quizzes taken online at home, points for discussion boards. Two essays, one can be creative writing. Review guide available, make sure you're prepared for the 200pt midterm! 1week grace period on every assignment!Interesting class and not a difficult A.
This professor really knows how to teach an online course. The interaction on the discussion boards gives a community fee to the class. The coursework is heavy but manageable. The professor is excellent at responding to questions and providing feedback. She is a tough grader for A's, but no one who tries will flunk this course.
very interesting class for sure. Very scattered. Often confused due dates for assignments. Offered extra credit which is a plus and let you correct your papers for 10 possible extra points. 1 week grace period is awesome.
4 short written assignments. 4 quizzes. 1 mid-term. 2 papers (to be peer/class reviewed). LOTS of reading, but it's really good. The papers were tough for me, but the peer review is worse, you can't make people review. Prof. Villarreal is SUPER organized, & that helps you get a jump on things.
she's pretty easy gets off topics pretty often but i do not appreciate how during class she called out a student on an irrelevant situation. she also refers a lot to not being in high school anymore and how attendance and tardiness counts which is very contradicting
Professor Villarreal is a wonderful teacher. She has very clear information on her website and all paper requirements are laid out for you. I was very nervous about this class but she's really helpful. I really liked the peer editing portion of her class as well. It helps a lot. Great class, lots learned, take her!
Amazing professor! Very into her students lives as well as Class work. Very responsive and quick to answer any questions. Wonderful teacher. Would recommend to anyone!!
Great professor. You have to earn your grade but she is very lenien . Nice and easy going.
She is a very good professor. You MUST stay on top of you assignments.
Great Professor. She is very engaging. As long as you show up and do the work mostly on time, you can leave with an A in her class! Do NOT buy the textbook. If you have basic grammar skills save your 25 bucks. Lots of opportunity to write papers on subjects that interest you. Emails come often. Grades all work in a timely manner.
She very much wants you to succeed in her class.
Professor Villarreal is always more than willing to help you, weather in be in the classroom or during her office hours. She is a great teacher!
Very helpful when it came to writing papers. Also gave us time to turn the papers in and correct them for at least 99. Overall great professor with a wonderful attitude on education.
Great teacher overall, gives a extra week to turn in papers after due date, you do not need a textbook! She gives lots of extra credit opportunity's. And you are able to correct all essays. Attendance is mandatory or else lose participation grade. Very nice teacher.
Great teacher. As long as you are there for every class and do your work you will get an A. She works with you and really cares about the students.
She gives a lot of extra credit opportunities so even if you aren't doing so good you have a chance to get a better grade. She is very helpful and if you email she replies very fast. Also has very good tutoring hours. Attendance is important because she gives a lot of important information, but she gives you days off. VERY HELPFUL!
The teacher was great the entire semester. I always expected to make a better grade, but it was always lower. She gave me good feedback on my papers. This made me make a bigger effort to make better grades.
I really enjoyed this ENGL 1302 053 14486 Professor Villarreal instructed me in at Austin Community College online. The quizzes were REALLY hard. They were open book. The course was online. But, the quizzes were REALLY hard! I don't think I want to take any more online courses after this one. I did fine but I need the class discussion.
Loved this class I'm not very good at writing papers, but I actually got something out of this class. I would defiantly take her English 2 class. Great teacher
anytime i needed help she was available. Honestly if you do what your suppose to you should be fine. She will a sign a few papers, generally 6 papers not including the department exam. department exam was not too bad, i would definitely pay attention to note taking and learn to read alot.
Professor Villarreal is a really amazing teacher, she is very helpful and is willing to help when ever she can. She is organized and helps you catch up as much as possible. You have to come to class but even then it is not a boring lecture and is a goo thing because she'll help while you are there.
Lots of reading and moves at a good pace
At first I didn't like her because I felt she was unfair and rude to me. She made me work for every grade I got and was such a tough grader on every paper I turned in. I continued to work at my writing skills throughout the semester and actually saw a vast improvement. While she was pretty hard on me I have to admit I learned ALOT.
Mrs. Villarreal is an amazing teacher. She's the most responsive online teacher i've had and the most helpful. You get the grade you deserve and work for. She gives you extra credit assignments, gives you chances to fix essays and is always there to help. Answers most hours of the day and never leaves you hanging. You actually learn.
She is a great teacher, always helping and giving feedback! Provides extra credit! Also, strict about attendance!
Rarely helpful and talks about her problems more than listen to students. AVOID
I grew to love Mrs. V. 1st I thought she was too picky, but she would tell me what she wanted & allowed to submit corrections to bring my grade up. Tons of extra credit ops & she gives you a 1wk grace period. If you fail, then you didn't try! You as the student have to take initiative to make your grade better. I really learned. Would take again!
I absolutely loved this teacher!! She was clear in what she wanted and i enjoyed the class. I did it online and it was an easy B!!
Prof. Villarreal is very kind and always willing to help. She gives a one week grace period on every paper except for the final paper, and is willing to look over the students' papers for mistakes. She GENUINELY wants her students to succeed. Lots of EC, and lets you correct graded papers for more points. I never used the textbook and got an A.
When she makes mistakes, she doesn't acknowledge they were due to her (human) error, she passes them off as a 'glitch' or blames her department head. Sometimes, you need answers to specific questions, but you can send them as bullet points in an email and get one generic sentence back. Her flexible due date schedule is awesome. Much warmer ladyIRL.
Alright, so, not trying to spam a wall of text here, but Mrs. Villarreal deserves a little more than a sentence. This is a woman who adores the young adults she teaches. She will allow you to mess up within reason, but catch you when you really need it. Her teaching overall is wonderful. Take any of the classes she offers.
Complains a lot about things that are in and out of her control. She is willing to look over papers, but she doesn't always catch mistakes until after she grades it and gives it back for correction. I found that she relied heavily on her student aide for someone who had taught for so long.
Becky is a amazing teacher, the polar opposite of Coe, she will help you understand what you did wrong and is always open to questions. The papers she gives back don't have two letters and a 'X' through them but a detailed explanation of what was wrong. If you show up to class and turn in work, it is very hard not to make a A or a high B
Prof. Villarreal is a wonderful teacher for those who need a little extra time to get things turned in. She is very understanding and will work with you. I have taken her class 3 times already because she is that good. If I had to take any more ENG courses I would pick her again.
8 wk online class was tough but manageable. Consist: 2 papers, midterm (28-Q, 2 essays) 4 online @ home test (not time) & 4 d- board assignments. Lots of reading & material provided has everything she wants on papers. Grading can be harsh but U will learn as U go! Provides MOST of the reading material for class. I've learned a lot 4m this class!
I honestly can't speak of how good of a professor Villarreal is. I took her for the summer 6wk course. There is multiple poems and stories you have to read, but overall it is easy if you know how to manage your time. Only 2 papers received a B+ on both. She is fair when grading try to be very detailed when writing papers it helps.
Her and Julie were the best. Gives a one week grace period and tells you exactly what she wants in the essays.
Took this professor Fall '16. It was a good class for an 8 week course. I was nervous taking this class because I am not good at writing papers but she made you feel more comfortable about writing. She's gives a one week grace period for papers to be turned in. Extra Credit is offered. She's funny and cool. Recommend.
She is an excellent prof who is able to give a sense of participation in an online class.
Really great English teacher. Can be a bit of a chatter box, but gives good feedback, and allows you to up your grade by re-submitting your corrected work. Easy to follow and has a clear grading method. Can get off track at times, but encourages her class to improve daily.
Professor Becky is a great professor, English has always been my hardest class but she helped my writing and I excelled. If you read the short stories and go to her for tutoring to have her go over your papers you will get an A. But you have to put in the work.
Easiest class Ive ever taken. Like, high school level. Maybe even middle school. She gives you A LOT of freedom with the essays, and doesnt grade on content just grammar. Just make sure you have the basic structure of whatever type of essay youre doing and youll ace it. You can get even 10+ points by adding her first corrections.
Great online professor. There were quizzes, blackboard edits, dept exam, and 5 papers. Don't fall behind and follow her instructions. You can easily fall behind in class. She does allow for you to turn in late work but it is better to be proactive in this class. I was able to finish a few weeks early, which helps when you have other finals.
She's an awesome professor. The class moves fast, so you can easily fall behind. There are 5 papers, but she is willing to help you if you have any questions. I would definitely take her again.
TAKE HER! Organized, Clear expectations, EXTREMELY helpful, extra credit opportunities, quick responses to emails, inexpensive book, lot's of provided resources to help online. Highly recommend!
Second time taking her for an English class. Brit Lit had 2 papers, 4 quizzes, a midterm and 4 discussion boards. As long as you do exactly what she asks for, you will get the points. She gives some points back and some options for extra credit. Replies to emails super fast! She provides free online links to things you have to read , very helpful!
The class lectures seem to go in a downward slope of inconclusiveness towards the end of the course. We watched Paul's case (the movie adaptation) the first week but didn't get to do anything like that again which was unfortunate since I enjoyed that visual example! Loved the short story choices! I would definitely take this class again regardless!
I took this class awhile back and anticipated it to be a very difficult class since I sucked at High school. To my surprise I did WAY better than I expected mostly from just how helpful Professor Villarreal was. This class shined a light on my unexpected writing skills all thanks to Professor Villarreal for pointing out my strengths and weaknesses
Probably one of the best choices I did in finding an English professor. Miss V (as I call her) is very responsive to inquiries about the subject. She gives great feed backs. She doesn't crucify you if you're a little slow on the class just don't abuse it or you'll fail. Don't miss class or you'll miss important info. Pick her! She's great!
Prof. Villarreal is an AMAZING professor. Her enthusiasm is contagious in the classroom. I loved everything about this class, from the readings to the papers to the class activities. You don't actually need to buy the textbook if you can't afford it because almost all the readings are available online free. You will learn a LOT if you work hard.
Professor V does not require the text book. She also has a week grace period for due dates. Meaning you can turn in your papers up to a week late and still recieve full credit. She would suggest online help or tell you to go see a tutor rather than help you. You can miss class twice before she starts taking points off your grade.
Wonderful professor! She is SO quick to respond to emails, grades papers quickly, and does everything she can to help students succeed. I took her 12-week online class--5 papers, four quizzes, BB peer edits, and some short stories to read. Extra credit is offered. I truly enjoyed this class.
Prof. Villarreal was a SAINT! She is so kind and genuinely wants to see her students succeed. Loved her class and wish I could have taken her for comp II. Essays are clear and easy, but get ready to write. 6 papers, 4 quizzes, and the department exam. Easy A if you take advantage of the extra-credit opportunities. Loved her.
Prof V is one of the best professors I have ever had. She truly cares about her students and their education. She is quick to respond when you need her help. I hope to be able to take her online Comp II class this fall if she is available.
She was my first college professor and I loved her. She is so nice.
Super easy class. Had an A before I even wrote the last paper. Gives tons of extra credit-10 for correcting graded papers and 5 for going to the tutoring center, so you could make a 75 on every paper and still get an A. Super lenient grader. Impossible to fail her class. Anyone who thinks she is hard does not belong in college.
Very forgiving and helpful. Genuinely cares about her students.
Amazing teacher! So sweet and caring, and her essays are so easy to write. Easy A if you put in the effort.
she has an amazing setup for an online course very organized and even some instructional walk through videos she posts. Super helpful for this course. Some of the reading choices we were assigned were very lengthy. She is a bit of a tough grader on the paper but offers good feedback. Tests aren't too bad if you read. lots of reading!
This professor was so gracious in her grading and gave so many opportunities to improve because she cared about our improvement. Even though I had some issues, she would always do the most to help me. She had tutors and there was always a way to learn more. Definitely would take a class with this professor again!
Professor Villarreal has truly been the best english teacher I've ever taken. Her class was very organized, and the grading criteria was straight to the point. Anytime I had a question shed respond to my emails right away. She was very caring and wanted to see everyone succeed. Looking forward to taking composition II with her!
I decided to take Engl 1301 with professor Villarreal after reading great reviews about her course. She is extremely caring and offers many extra credit opportunities. English is not my favorite subject, but she takes the time to walk you through each papers guidelines during the in-class lecture. She is very helpful and present as a professor.
Professor Villarreal is amazing. She is very knowledgable and experienced. I looked forward to go to her class. Professor Villarreal delivers the material in a very clear way. She is a very caring person. I learned much techniques for writing essays and analyses. I highly recommend her. Do your work and will get an easy A!!!!
Professor Becky is a very caring teacher! Throughout the semester we mostly worked on essay's. The level of difficulty progressed throughout the semester, however it never reached extreme! (which was nice!) She is willing to answer questions, gives a week of grace period on assignments, and allows corrections! My Rating is 4.5
Great professor who is extremely helpful when in need and gives very clear instructions. Very responsive to emails and works hard to keep students engaged. Gives ample amount of time to complete assignments, one week grace period for first four papers. I highly recommend taking this professor if you're nervous about taking comp. She makes it easy.
Essay's have never been my strong point. I took this class online which made it even harder for me but Professor Villarreal is a great teacher. She is always cheerful, and enthusiastic. Professor V will read your rough drafts and give you feedback to improve them for the best grade possible. It's hard to fail this class unless you fall behind.
There were 5 papers due in a semester and each one had very clear instructions which was nice. Professor Villarreal can be a tough grader but also allows you to correct your essays after shes graded them which is a nice way to learn from your mistakes while also making up to 10 points back.
Prof. Villarreal is excellent! English is not my first language, so this was naturally the class I was dreading the most. I feel like a much better writer than I was before! The class is composed of 5 essays and some short quizzes. She is very approachable, caring, and funny+ she's generous grading if you show you put in effort! I highly recommend!
She gets off topic a lot. Speaks about things that are irrelevant and takes to much time on them. The things that are relevant to the class she rushes through them. By far the most frustrating professor I had. Then I asked for assistance and she told me read the directions. Me and the tutor both did which were not clear. Dont bother to register.
loved Prof. Villarreal class she is excellent! She is extremely caring and offers many extra credit opportunities. feel like a much better writer than I was before! The class is composed of 5 essays and some short quizzes. She is the best I highly recommends her class.
My friend recommended that I take this professor: Though I like this professor, I probably would not take her again as her syllabus was confusing, and her feedback was not the best. How my class worked is that we read around 15 stories, had 4 essays, 5 quizzes, and 5 discussion board entries. My schedule was different due to the current situation.
I'm so grateful I had her for English Comp 1 this summer. She offers extra credit, a one week grace period, and detailed feedback on request. She truly cares and only asks that you try your best. Just participate, attend the extra credit zoom sessions, and you will succeed. I've grabbed a seat in her English Comp 2 class this fall. Cannot wait!
I enjoyed the stories that were presented to the class. I took the course to fulfill a requirement. English is not my favorite subject, but Prof. Villareal was helpful.
Took in summer 2020. She was a great prof. We had zoom lectures that were entertaining. She would give a ton of extra credit which was useful. She seemed like she really cared about the students. If you try you will pass.
I took Professor Villarreals class two semesters in a row and i can say that she has hands down been one of my favorite english professors! She gives great feedback and is extremely nice to her students. The assignments aré fairly easy which made taking multiple classes at once easier. I would definitely take her class again & recommend taking it!
I would recommend this Professor because she does not have any restrictions on attendance or meeting. She is very straight forward with assignments. But sometimes I wish she takes time to reply my email when I needed her help! Nevertheless shes good and the class is not really hard if you do the work and turn your assignments on time.
Professor Villarreal is a very good professor. She is very helpful and understanding. She provides detailed guidelines for writing Papers which helps a lot. She engages with her students and provides feedback. She makes learning fun and easy. I learned a lot from her.
I took Professor V in a DL Summer ENGL1302 class. Her grading criteria and expectations are set clearly in the syllabus, although feedback can be very vague. She is very instruction and detail oriented!! Pay attention to the paper guidelines and you'll be fine. Very animated and fun to talk to. Tips: FOLLOW INSTRUCTIONS, request feedback, ENGAGE (:
Unfortunately, I wasn't able to meet Professor Villarreal in person due to COVID, but she is great at making sure her students understand everything that is required through weekly Zoom meetings. The criteria expected for papers aren't hard to follow, however she is a detailed grader. I definitely like English a little more after taking this class.
She was very good profesor !
Lots of papers. You will have to work hard and she is kind of a tough grader but she is super chill. Always extra credit, if you miss a deadline she will give you an extension, she wants all of her students to pass. There's really no reason why anyone should fail her class!
Just wanted to praise her for stepping in after my previous english teacher Professor Moore, passed away before the end of the semester. She was immediately there to help and give grace to anyone falling behind. For the short time I had her, She had clear instructions and good feedback. A very nice teacher.
I took her for 1301 and 1302 for dual credit during the fall and spring. She is a great professor and her class is very chill. There are 5 papers for 1301 and 4 papers for 1302, but honestly, they were easy to complete. She answers her emails quickly and gives you feedback on discussion boards before submitting each paper. Take her, she's great!
Professor Villarreal is awesome! She's very kind, has lots of extra credit, and great feedback when needed!
Professor Villarreal is an amazing professor. She makes you learn how to do everything through hard work and dedication. This course is not extremely easy nor hard, but it does take a lot of work. I would take this course again.
Professor Villarreal is an amazing professor. She will help you with anything you are confused about. In the course, we had 5 essays. After writing the essays you would post them on the discussion board. If the feedback was difficult to understand or unclear you could ask for more detail. If you get the chance to take her class do it.
Professor Villarreal is a sweet teacher. However, she gets off topic very often and will spend a lot of class time talking about unrelated stuff. She is a pretty tough grader, but will also tell you what you need to improve. I had an OK time in her class. I love to write but she doesn't allow for much imaginative writing.
Professor Villarreal was a fantastic professor! While the criteria was fairly easy, I found it difficult to keep up with writing a paper every single week. The way the Blackboard was set up was a bit confusing, but Professor V did a great job going over everything in our Zoom meetings!
Professor Villareal is an amazing professor! I enjoyed being in her class and I'm glad I picked her to be my English teacher. She would give out reminders when papers were due and even gave us a grace period to finish our work. I like that she's straightforward and would give me good feedback on my papers making it easier to make corrections.
Professor Villarreal gives good feedback if you request it and is very easy to email outside of class. She responds promptly and in a very kind manner. The classes are not mandatory, but they're helpful if you need them. There also isn't much group work either, which is nice.
Yes received A but barely need to 5 revises ans remakes each paper even tho we use librar or tutor she comes and judges you about " tutors should not be doing this you are lying etc.. are you sure you took a tutor it could have been diffrent" yes lady we got it you are NAZI GRAMMAR teacher but just stop this isn't university it's Com-college be esy
Definition of a bad professor. She doesn't try to understand the student. She is very rude. She doesn't have the best attitude, and overall isn't helpful at all. I would never take this professor if you want someone that will actually teach you something. SHE WANTS THINGS DONE HER WAY AND IF IT'S NOT DONE HER WAY IT'S NOT GOOD. Worst person ever.
This professor regularly gave me contradictory feedback that had me wondering whether she has even read my work. Instructions were unclear and made her rigid understanding of language into my problem. My work was consistently either made worse in quality directly because of counterproductive demands, and/or ignored until she could count it as late.
Great professor who is there and willing to help. She really wants you to succeed. Plus, after class conversations are pretty interesting!
Professor Villarreal is solid. She is lenient, caring, and very much invested in her class. It was clear to me from the beginning that she is all for the student's success. Professor Villarreal's feedback is very detailed and helpful; she also offers many prompts to choose from, giving the student a lot of free range when writing papers.
Easy to reach via email and is quick to respond. Feedback on papers nudge you in the right direction of what to fix without being specific. Villarreal prefers to hand-pick her reading material from a wide variety of authors (all online) instead of using a single textbook. She provides flexibility in what medium your final project utilizes.
Professor Villarreal gives plenty of opportunities for extra credit and deadlines are very easily stretched to meet your needs. She does weekly zoom meetings but they're not a requirement. She is always available to answer any questions you may have and gives excellent feedback for all submitted work.
Super helpful professor. Will give you help when you ask for it, lenient, understanding.
Professor cares about her students a lot, most of your grade will come from the papers you write and the activities that go along with them.
This class is designed to set you up for success as long as you put in the effort to complete all of the assignments. The only assignments I would advise you to absolutely not miss the deadline on are the discussions as she is pretty strict on the timeline of those. She provides all reading materials which is awesome. Overall, great class and prof.
Professor Villarreal is great! Don't take her kindness and leniency for granted, she gave plenty of extra time to turn in assignments. However, I noticed the majority of students always waiting until the last minute and in turn submitting work that could have been a lot better (speaking for myself).
Professor Villarreal is sweet, passionate, and knowledgable. She offers lots of EC! Grading criteria is clear. She offers a 5 day grace period on lots of assignments. Readings are interesting. Optional zooms each week, which she records if you can't attend. Always responded quickly to emails. She wants to engage with her students. Take her class!

Professor Villarreal is amazing. She answers emails quickly and provides a lot of help in her meetings. I took her British Lit and American Lit courses, and in both, I got an A+. Quizzes and midterms were easy. She gives two papers to write and a few discussion boards. If you have difficulties, definitely see a tutor. I completely recommend her.
She is awesome. Email reminders, clear expectations, gives example papers, awesome short stories/poems. Great feedback. Gives soft due dates and hard due dates. Extra credit opportunities. Advocates for her students.
Mrs. Villarreal has a very well structured Blackboard that provides loads of supplements, sample essays, and clear criteria. I think her only flaw is that her comments on papers are slightly unclear and rushed. If you struggle with writing, I suggest finding a professor who isn't as preoccupied as her. The quizzes and essays were pretty simple.
Professor Villarreal is awesome - super helpful and flexible. Lots of extra credit and lenient deadlines. Unstuck AI was a game-changer for acing the papers and discussions. Highly recommend this class!
She is amazing! Will help you a lot if you ask for it. Almost always available through email.
3 journals, 3 quizzes, 2 papers, 4 peer-editings (2 per each paper). Pros: flexible due dates, allows multiple attempts on quizzes and assignments, very friendly and understanding, gives incredible feedbacks, and has plentiful of extra credits. Cons: lots of reading.
Amazing professor! She is available for any questions outside of class, answers emails and grades quickly. The workload wasn't too overwhelming but was still challenging. I do think I've grown as a writer from her class. Flexible deadlines but stay on top of it and don't take advantage or you will fall behind quickly.
Two research papers in MLA format with peer review. Journals, discussion boards require writing as well. Three quizzes. Midterm. Be ready to read a variety of authors. Professor provides plenty of opportunities for extra credit. Weekly Zoom meetings. Will review papers at Zoom meeting if you submit in time. Has tutor for class who is very helpful.
This class felt disorganized and chaotic. I did not feel like I knew when assignments were due or what I would be learning next. The feedback I received didn't always make sense, so I didn't feel like I learned very much, and I was stressed more than I should have been.
I took a five-week, online '25 summer course. Professor Villarreal was very helpful with feedback and easy to reach through email. This was my first ACC class, and the transition was quite smooth. Would recommend this professor!
I am thankful for Professor Villarreal's easy grading in this class. The assignments aren't hard... standard Comp 1 prompts and writing styles. She has some quirky requirements for an asynchronous course (like coming to a random Zoom meeting once and having to send her my ACC ID), but she never gives you trouble if you follow her requirements.
Professor Villarreal was an amazing teacher and seemed genuinely caring toward her students. She always responded to emails and graded promptly. I think the longest I had to wait for a grade back was a couple of days! Prof. Villarreal's materials and instructions were clear, and if they weren't, she answered questions in a helpful way.
Pretty easy course as long as you keep up with work. Gives many opportunities for extra credit, almost impossible to fall behind.
Great professor. She has both soft and hard due dates. She provides essay and outline examples so you can clearly understand how she wants it done. She also offers extra credit opportunities and genuinely wants her students to succeed in her class.
Great prof! Very simple and easy class as long as you just READ the instructions for each paper and listen to feedback will be an easy A. Course includes simple quizzes and easy reflection journals. Offers extra credit. I hate writing but she made the process of writing papers very simple and easy. I learned MLA format too which is very useful
Overall Great!
