-One of he most disorganized professors. -She may possess the knowledge, but cannot deliver it. -Does not provide any clue in the assignments and grades poorly by citing that We did not meet the required standards -.Doesn't provide marks until the end which is really inconvenient as students should be assessed gradually to rectify their mistakes
An exceptional professor with invaluable industry experience and an uncanny ability to bring strategic management to life through real-world examples. Learning from her was a game-changer!
Professor Gholami is a true gem! Her vast experience in strategic management is evident in every class, and I'm blown away by her practical approach to teaching. Learning from her was not only enlightening but also incredibly valuable for real-world applications.
Dont take her if you want 72 or above
One of the worst professors at UCW who doesn't know how to deliver the course content. Don't provide any marks until the last moment, and you will have no time to rectify the mistakes. If you want at least 72, don't get her.
She is very messy and unorganized instructor. She is very selfish and does not behave respectfully.Specially let clients to humiliate the students works and projects. She grades your assignments with no feedback and it seems she grades students based on imaginary things rather than professional work.
She is extremely disorganized and leave most of the workload at the end of the term. She is awful in choosing clients for group projects. For our class she chose a client from a real estate company named Pentacore. The client was rudest client I have ever encountered in UCW.
The professor's disorganization and unclear explanations made the subject more difficult. The Moodle platform was outdated until the fourth week, and she released grades at the last minute, leaving no room for discussion. Assignment instructions were confusing, and deviations were not tolerated. Syllabus is confusing. I don't recommend her.
She is extremely disorganized. Moodle was out of date by the fourth week. The unclear explanations made it difficult to understand the subject and she is not tolerant of mistakes. At the end of the course, grades were posted at the last minute, taking away the student's opportunity to review them directly with her. She doesn't follow the syllabus.
Took Design Thinking with her. No engagement from her end. Terrible grader and does not have a good English level, moreover, the concepts are pretty abstract and she does not how to explain them correctly. Absolutely lacks of a method to teach. Her resume is way above what she actually is capable of. Definitely do not recommend.
I can't agree more on how disorganized she is. Teaching is the next part, but a mentor has to be organized and provide clear instructions to her students. There are no slides provided till 5th week, and you don't know what she is teaching or when your assignments are due. Nothing is updated on the portal. Also, she doesn't value your efforts.
Professor updated the moodle on the 5th week and gave us rubrics on week 5 with deadlines. The most disorganized professor.
She does not know how to communicate. She is disorganized and comes to class late. She also teaches her students like we are not smart enough. She does not give constructive feedback, difficult grader despite the fact that she does not teach the course well. I do not think she knows how to lecture. I do not recommend this lady
Most disorganized professor ever. Starts giving assignment and course material on week 5!!! Not clear with what she explains or what she wants. I doubt he has the capabilities to even be a professor, all the students are not even interested to sit in her class but we do due to attendance. Never will recommend her to anyone.
For MENT 602 To be honest the course material is not that difficult, the incompetencies of the professor may make it the most difficult course. Firstly, 9/10 she is late to class, sometimes just straight up doesn't show up with no emails. Her teachings are super confusing and she seems to be on some power trip. Just awful overall.
She is different and thinks different! She knows Design Thinking well and she explains it in a very simple way despite it is a difficult topic. The fair was fun. She is an inspiration and knows what she does. But the course needs work
I really enjoyed her class this winter. She shares great industry experiences with the class, which makes her classes more practical. Strongly recommend her!
design thinking is a problem solving and learning it from the most skillful teacher was a great experience. she took us step by step and tried to take care of difficulty of the subject. it is interesting how ideas in your head become a mobile application. she does mindfulness at the beginning of each session that is very life changing and calmed me
I would give her 5 if she released grades during the term. As an immigrant girl, I was inspired by the confidence and energy she brought to the class.
She is very passionate about the topics she discusses in her class. I liked her real-world examples, which clarified the concepts. You'll pass with a good mark if you follow her instructions.
Two things make her classes different. Her real-life experience based on her industry experience, and the mindfulness practice we do at the start of class. She also makes such a theoretical class to make sense. She uses her experience and every day business news to for strategy. She is energized and passionate and also fashionable :)
Prof. Behnaz was brilliant throughout the term. BrightSpace was not immediately updated, but the assignments were mentioned clearly in class. It's easy to follow along if ur a good note-taker. Her teaching method is very methodological and provides a step-by-step approach throughout the course and for approaching assignments. I can 100% recommend!
She taught a difficult subject of Design Thinking in a simple way. Step by step teaching on weekly basis made it simpler and clearer. The trade fair was a nice experience for us. I like the meditation sessions she conducted. It is better if she has given us the marks on weekly basis.
Taking Behnaz Gholami Design Thinking course was an incredibly rewarding experience. Despite the complexity of the topic, she went above and beyond to make it accessible and engaging for all students. Her passion for the subject shone through in every lecture, and her dedication to ensuring every student understood the material was evident.
Taking the Behnaz Gholami Strategic Management course was memorable. She managed to teach using a step-by-step approach. You will learn a lot but must participate and challenge yourself to go beyond. Unfortunately, I didn't have the opportunity to participate in her Design Thinking course, which I would have liked to do if I had the chance and time.
Dr. Behnaz's design thinking goes beyond three months. She consistently emphasizes on human-centered approach, showing a strong desire to understand the core of design thinking. She encourage to enjoy they course journey. Assignment instructions were clear and get high grades. Her excellent ref. links and stories enhances my learning experience.
Dr. Behnaz really knows her stuff when it comes to design thinking. She focuses on putting people first, which makes learning about design more interesting. Her assignments are easy to understand and can get you good grades. Plus, she shares great links and stories that make learning even better.
She doesn't have any idea what she is doing. Only into her looks. Zero knowledge. No proper instruction, doesnt reply to emails. She made us wait for an hour during test and didnt show up. Worst professor ever. How is she even a professor.
The worst professor. I don't know about others experience but she literally teaches nothing in a class and expect us to perform by ourselves. our group literally struggles from beginning to end in group project and she gives marks according to her thought not by your efforts. Honest opinion don't ever take this professor.
MENT 602 was a great experience for me. I did not know what to expect, but Dr. Behnaz made it very simple and clear for us during the lectures. She sure help us to have a new mindset by being a role model of empathy mindset. thank you
I like her a lot. She is knowledgeable a lot. Those who don't like her because they don't want to work hard. Design fair was amazing. Nothing like it in ucw. Thank you professor. She is expert
Professor Behnaz always kept the class engaging. She genuinely cares for her students growth and is vocal about change. Her assignments and projects helped us gain knowledge that would help us in the real business world.
BehNaz is an outstanding lecturer with remarkable expertise and a wealth of knowledge to share! I would recommend everyone take her Design Thinking class to develop a new perspective on viewing problems. Those who complain are only those students who don't put in effort and don't seek feedback throughout the term. BehNaz is caring and patient.
She is an amazing professor. She lays focus on interaction a lot due to which the lectures are quite amazing. She has given us a real life project to work upon. She has so much enriched knowledge about the industry. In short, she is brilliant and teaches a lot
I was highly satisfied with Professor's way of teaching. She constantly encouraged us to participate in class discussions which resulted in innovative thinking and helped me expand my level of understanding and explore various perspectives. She made a difficult subject like design thinking look easy which is not easy within a span of 10 weeks.
She is a great professor.
Had a great time in her class! You need to be as creative as you can in your group projects and follow the weekly assignment guidelines appropriately and you will do great.
she explained such a complicated confusing topic with simplicity and finally you see you can create a mobile application from an idea. I really enjoyed.
Design Thinking was a new amazing experience for me. It can be used anywhere from this point and I highly recommend it. I'm so thankful to Professor Behnaz for this. Without her, the course wouldn't be the same. She takes extra efforts for her students, pushes us to beyond our capabilities. I wish the classes were never ending! Go for her!
Professor Behanz demonstrates exceptional expertise in the subject and fosters a supportive classroom environment. The lectures are insightful and thought-provoking, often integrating real-world applications that illustrate key concepts. Overall, Professor Behanz is dedicated and approachable, making them an asset to the department.
If you wanna learn something then choose the courses she offers, if you want to be challenged and challenge the professor, again she is the right choice.
I agree with the comments. You should be ready to be challenged. because she also like the challenge and is not afraid to be challenged. She encourages everyone to come out of their comfort zone because design thinking is a mindset shift. you need to be ready for many group works and class participations.
If you have a passionate pitch idea ready and want to ace it, you should take Professor Behnaz and her Design Thinking. It was the best decision that I took. By the end of the course, you will have a real product in hand and your perspective about creating products/services would have changed. I highly recommend taking this course with Behnaz!
Great professor!! She has tons of experience and gives many real-world practical examples in class. I really liked the flexible approach she took to strategic management and how it went beyond the theory. Working with a real client also made the class much more practical.
I enjoyed taking the Design Thinking course with Professor Dr. BehNaz Gholami. Her teaching style is engaging, making even tough concepts approachable. She is always ready to help, all you need to do is be curious. She creates a positive environment where creativity thrives and genuinely cares about her students' success.
The experience she has is what she tries to pass on to students in each lecture. She is patient, repeats the concept as many times as it is necessary until everyone understands, promotes student participation, and is open to talk outside of class. If you are looking to dive into D.T. and learn how to apply it in real cases, I recommend her classes.
The professor should provide weekly marking and feedback to help students improve their work. However, the professor often waits until a day before the final day of submitting students' grades to the school before posting scores and giving feedback. There are numerous aspects that I am unable to discuss and have made an effort to avoid. Be careful.
She is the best professor in terms of teaching, learning, grading and reaching out whenever necessary. Her classes do all the required learning, which is needed for the oral exam that she takes.
design thinking is a great course. I liked the lectures and the feedback she gives in each class to each team. I also like the mindfulness at the beginning of each class. It is hard to get distracted in the class since she engage the class all the time. strongly recommend
Prfofessor Behnaz was great. Clear instructions and guidance. She has a very good understanding of the subject and makes everything very easy. Her meditations before class to helps a lot
Professor has a good knowledge of the Design Thinking theory and methodology. She is not good providing feedback on work, the exam is a "debate" where everything is subjective and you must take all the hints she gives during class otherwise the grade is awful. There is work to do each week. Participation is important as well. Not the best prof.
Participation matters, exam is kind of a debate but if you dont say exactly what she wants grade is terrible. work every week. Design thinking is not a complex topic but she need more didactic, waste a lot of time in weird examples. Grades are given at the end so be careful, she doesn't provide feedback.
Human - Centric Professor.
I really enjoy the class with Her, The case studies she used was very practical and it helped us to learn the concepts better, She is very Caring and inspirational . The meditations at the beginning of each class was amazing which was very useful to be concrete an present in the class.
She is taking oral exam. Individual participation matters alot otherwise you loose your grades. She is not taking ogls. Some workload and Creative thinking in artifacts with team.
Too much work for the group project without clear instructions. Gradings are arbitrary without any tangible criteria. class participation matters, but people got full marks without being present or attending the class, whereas some got poor participation marks despite being attentive and active. No proper feedback and last-minute grader.
She tries to make the student understand, but she cannot convey her message properly. Too much work every week just for a few marks. She can never answer questions related to the assignment. Heavily relies on debate, which is an awful type of evaluation. She only wants the specific word as answer in debate, exectly what she says during her lecture.
The teaching style is truly remarkable—it cultivates patience and deep engagement with the material.
Took her for design thinking. Not gonna say much about the experience because for me it was alright. She did her best to make the difficult course simple because this is a mindset changing course. One thing I really don't like was her instructions was really unclear, cost me some good marks because of it, but lucky enough that I had a good group
You can tell that she is knowledgeable about the course, but conveying the message is the problem. Her oral exam is awful because she expects you to repeat the same words she used in class, which limits your ability to explain things according to your understanding. Expect last-minute marks.
One of the worst lecturer I have ever taken in UCW. Her conversations are contradictory , she will tell something and expect something. She does not respond to emails or respond in teams chat. Instructions are not clear in the portal, she does not update it. She does not even post link for office hours. I would suggest don't take her class.
I received the worst grading ever! Do not choose this professor. She takes 10 minutes for "Mindfulness" every class. But in reality she does not care about your grades at all. Majority of the class received less than 65%. She has experience with her work but not in teaching. This is a prime example that not everyone who has experience CAN teach!
I agree with the low ratings. It was hard to understand what she expected as she struggled to convey her point effectively—her instructions were unclear, class slides didn't match the portal. We had no client for our project until wk 3 & we're behind on key topics. She could've used the 10-min mindfulness time to organize & update course materials.
Tough grader, first 5 weeks she didn't give anything to do and at the end of the course gave everything together. All grades were given at the end. Didn't update anything on bright-space. No clear guidance but has lot of expectations from students. If you want to pass then don't take her.
good teacher
Very difficult professor does not teach anything than expects so much from you, all the grades are given at last and when you ask her she will not listen to you. Never take this professor
Her teaching style was a love-hate journey for me—unstructured, no clear grading, and group-dependent marks challenged my A+ mindset. But it also gave me a safe space to think beyond textbooks and grow creatively. I left with life lessons, not just academic ones—and that made all the difference.
Odd professor, doesnt seem to know how to teach, like she has the knowledge, but fails to implement it. I did not enjoy this course at all, and grading criteria was better than how it was with students from other terms, but still i got no proper knowledge here
She is amazing professor
She is nice person
She was so nice and she thought me self confidence
She is very good but she needs to know you got her points or not
She is so nice professor
I learned exactly how can I use this in real markets
She is amazing
She is so knowledgeable and she really wanted us to learn new things
she is good
she is the best teacher i have ever had
She is very good
forced to rate in class
Overall, a great professor, love her teaching methods, and you actually come out learning new concepts from her class. However, the rubrics/submission requirements can be challenging to follow.
Overall, she teaches good, likes to engage the students more. Moreover, there is not much homework also. its an average workload.
Prof's way of teaching is good. It's different than other professors but it was impressive to me. Little confusion about the study material as she doesn't teach the one uploaded on the bright space but in-class practical examples and discussions are informative.
She really teaches well, most important that matters is class participation.
Just Do the requirements
She teaches well, mist important is class participation
Her instructions and grading rubric for assignments are not clearly organized or detailed enough. I also often do not receive clear answers to my questions.
The professor is very good and insightful. She is strict about attendance, timing, and class participation. She focuses more on group work, and the textbook is not necessary. Her instructions are very clear, and she expects the same level of input from students in return. One suggestion would be to consider using Brightspace to Microsoft Teams.
Dr. Gholami begins each class with a short mindfulness exercise that creates a positive, focused mood. Her explanations are clear, the course is well-organized, and her feedback is useful.
She is unorganized and unclear with instructions. She expects students to rely on the syllabus but constantly changes instructions making it very confusing. Week 9 and still she havent provided grades, making progress difficult to track. She wants participation but struggles to manage open discussions and cannot clarify student questions well.
Shes not good at teaching, she cant explain theories and topics properly she often just rely on ppt and then give opinion about it without any technical explanation dont take her if you have other option didnt learn on a thing on this subject. She also don't know how to use brightspace so u don't know what u need to submit she just give it randomly
Amazing professor—makes every class engaging and easy to understand.
She is a very good instructor, and she ensures that students understand all the course materials. She does a lot of revision on the previous topic in every class. However, I feel like she has high expectations for every student, and sometimes the students feel demotivated by that, as they feel pressured to keep up with everything.
Can't answer any questions properly. You would get lost in what assignments are needed to be passed, just because she doesn't use Brightspace for any assignments or discussions that she gives. The most boring class I have this Fall not recommended.
weirdest professor! she asked students to rate her before the grade. students hoped to have good grades rated great . everyone did their best in the class but she has the audacity to fail most of the students. think wisely before you take her class. She may change her attitude once student enrollment is less in her class. For us she was the worst.
