really nice and willing to help. gives powerpoint notes with more details in class.tries her best to explain a really hard subject and does a good job at it. makes the class more bearable. overall a very nice and swt person.
She was very nice, test were easy as long as you did the homework. Very helpful and willing to explain the material, gave lots of extra credits in the exams! Will take her class again!

Very good teacher. Organic is a difficult subject but she does an excellent job of explaining things. She is very helpful, always willing to answer questions in or out of class. If you participate in lecture, do the homework and read your book you will do very well. Highly recommended.
Great teacher, I actually took her clas for the Fall 2004. I left with alot of information. She now teaches Chm 1033 online, just review her power point presentations, do the practice quizes and of course she is alway available to abswer any questions.
Great teacher !! I highly recommend her. She is very helpful, especially in lab. Always makes time to talk to her students. I was scared of taking Organic, now it's my favorite class. Great teacher !!
SUCKS. I am sorry I didnt ask about her b4 taking her.
You will not understand her during lecture- but she give a hmwk packet before tests that are exactly like the test- For lab- she requires you to do a lot of writing for the ntbks-take her for lecture only unless you want to do a lot of wk for lab
EXCELLENT TEACHER FOR THE ONLINE CLASS VERY HELPFUL AND THE QUIZZES AND PPT WAS EASY TO FOLLOW ALONE WITH AND THE MID TERM/ FINAL WAS A OVERVIEW FROM THE PAST HOMEWORK, QUIZZES AND PPT. RECOMMAND HER TO ANYONE. AM GLAD I TOOK HER WISH I WOULD KNOWN ABOUT HER TOW YEARS AGO. GOOD LUCK
Goes so fast in lec and expect us to catch up and know it all before the next slide. Dropped from the course early b/c it was so hard, can't learn anything. The remaining students experienced the continous horror. When answer questions, her explanation does not help. Try someone else unless you MUST take her.
She is not the worst chemistry teacher, she just doesn't know how to teach. If you take her be prepared to teach yourself 70% of the required material. The only good thing about her class is that she grades very easy, and gives alot of extra credit.
This class made me want to throw up. She says dont study sec. 1.4 and 2.6 and half the questions on tests are from those sections. Her grades never add up right if they're ever even posted. She'll give you a zero faster than anyone. If you take the class make sure to store her office number in your cell because you will need it. OFTEN!!
Do not take her for Organic Lab- she is very unclear and is in lala land half of the time. She makes you do the experiments over again if you do not get it right the first time...be prepared to stay there the whole 3 hours!
Quite frankly, organic chemistry is a hard subject and that's not her fault. I must admit she can be very scattered and unclear at times, but she makes up for it with alot of extra credit. There are no good organic teacher at BCC, they all suck from what I have heard. Therefore I would recommend her. Once you study you will pass. I got all A's.
Accent and monotone voice make her hard to understand. Lacks enthusiasm. However, has good knowledge of chemistry and good office hours.
Very bright woman, knows her chemistry but does not know how to relay it to her students very well, take another professor for chemistry
OK, IF YOU CAN TAKE ANOTHER TEACHER WHEREVER YOUR ARE TRANSFERING, TAKE THIS CLASS THERE.. SHE IS VERY NICE AS A PERSON, BUT SHE TEACHES THIS CLASS AS IF YOU ALREADY KNEW THE MATERIAL. ORGANIC CHEMISTRY IS VERY IMPORTANT AND SHE DOES NOT MAKE THE TEST, SHE JUST GET IT FROM BOOK'S WEBSITE AND PRINT THEM OUT...
very helpful
The Best, great sense of humor, helpfull, very proffesional
She is the best professor I have ever had. She would spend time to make sure you understand the Organic Chemistry. I would not take class with any one else if I had the choice.
She is very helpful and clear
Great Teacher! Would recommend her to anyone. She is very patient, loves teaching, and had a great attitude.
She is THE BEST TEACHER AT THIS CAMPUS! She has a passion in her teaching and loves what she does
Prof.Memari is the Real Deal! She makes the material so easy. Always gives a test review so you know exactly what to study. She made me feel like i was back home. She is really cool and makes herself available to help the student. She also lets you know how you're doing in the class so u won't be surprised at the end of the semester
Professor Memari is the best profesor i ever had. Very nice teacher that is willing to help you understand the material better. I hihgly recommend her.
She is the best chemistry teacher one can ever hope for. She takes her time to explain everything, gives reviews and practice tests. Practice at home and an A is a guarantee. I would recommend her anytime.
She is the best professor I had; very helpful with materials and always ready for any question. She breaks down hard materials into easy steps and then brings all steps together finally. She helps you to prepare for exams like PCAT or MCAT,although the tests in her class are not multiple choices and not easy ones! they are making you think twice.
Very hard professor to listen to. Class preperation was poor and in class lectures were from pre-made slides that the professor didn't do herself. It was clear to me that she has extensive knowledge of Chemistry but still needs time to work on lecturing.
I don't who gave this lady a job! It's obvious that she knows her stuff but she cannot explain it. She flies through the lectures. She does not care if you understand or not as long as she covers her material. Thank God she will not be teaching next semester! I passed with a B but had to teach the material to myself. But she's a nice person!
Well, chemistry is not an easy class.... But, her online class is a chance for you to pass it well even though you are not too good in chemistry. You have to study!!!
she couldn't explain herself.. horrible!
She is very helpful with materials and always ready for any question. She breaks down hard materials into easy steps and then brings all steps together finally. Tests in her class are not multiple choices and not easy ones! they are making you think twice.
She is a very good teacher. She made chemistry very understandable for me. Her test can get hard, but that just means you have to study harder. She teaches at a nice speed too. She also tells you what the test is going to cover, and its never to much to handle.
she's good, clear, and helpful. I needed to learn real chemistry, and she made it happen.
not very clear...nice lady, helpful.. but she seemed to confuse people more than anything.
I would have to say she is not the best professor in the world, but she is better than the rest. If you are taking this professor make sure you take notes of everything she says. Ask lots of question to slow her down otherwise you'll have a heavy load. I pass the class with a good grade because of a study group we did. Study alot to pass.
that was a tough class.i got an A, but that was with a lot of studying. just don't expect it to be easy.PLZ, DO THE HOMEWORKS and QUIZZES(they make up 75% of her tests). that extra credit project really helps (do it).very busy teacher, so stay on track.
Avoid if you can. She teaches off a powerpoint slide which just summerizes what the book says;which you can read by yourself. So i am basically saying she doesn't teach. she is unorganized and gives work worth 5 credits: online work from the auther of the book which takes several hours to complete plus her own homework online and quizzes and etc.
do not take her for Ochem; u wont understand anything. u have to read the whole book and teach it to urself... for lab shes OK( now she added an online component to the lab( more work for us)YAY!!!! . unfortunatly, shes the only one who teaches it at north. Lecture is a NO-NO; take her for lab only. good luck
She's not that bad. I took 1045 with her and I'm taking 1046. Study the WebCT homeworks and memorize all the questions and you'll do good on the tests. The lectures are boring and she makes you do a lot of online assignments. She does do big curves on some tests, otherwise I probably would have failed.
Pretty good teacher. She was easy. I've had worse CHM teacher compared to her. I ended up getting a B in class with very little effort. She gives plenty of online HW called MasteringChemistry and WebCT HW which is usually based on the test that will be given. She has 4 tests (lowest score dropped) and a cumulative final. i'll take her again...
Fully on line class. So you really have to want to take this class in order to do well. lots of learning. Professor was responsive at first then unresponsive towards the end of class, Other wise she responded to every question and tried to explain as best she could over the internet.
PLEASE DNT TAKE HER!! I actually understood chm b4 her class. Be prepared to teach yourself she confuses ppl more thn anything. The whole class is mainly online work & thn just her attempting to explain thru pwrpts (tht arent hers). Most of the class withdrew already. Too late 4 me. RUN!
For lec. she's pretty good. Don't follow the ppt. They're the book's. She does not baby you and you will have to read the book at least 2 to 3 times to clearly understand the subject. She is very willing to answer questions. However, DO NOT TAKE for lab. You will regret that. A far as O Chem teachers, she one of the good ones for lecture not lab.
Vague Explanations on tough material.READ THE BOOK because she flys thru notes from the book publisher.Don't ask GEN CHem questions-ticks her off.If you have questions go to the Orgo tutor.
For lab, she explains the lab but then after that u r on ur own.most of the time she is doing her personal things like cell phone or on the computer.SHe doesnot like it when u ask too many questions. "read the book" ex****ve lab book where u use 10% of it. For 4 weeks didn't have lab because she cancelled while she worked on her doctorate.
Thick accent. Explains a few topis in detail. Skips most. Skipped several chapters. Tests are easy if you do the homework. Only 4 homeworks per semester.
She is one of the best chemistry teachers at BC... However, if you just study her lecture notes(which are powerpoints by the publisher), you would not do well. Study from the book and learn all the reactions.. Thats how I was able to receive an A in Orgo II.
She is quite possibly one of the worst science teachers at Broward College. Even though she is a very intellegent person she does not know a single thing about teaching. She is very hard to understand and everytime you ask her a question she gives you a blank stare and makes you feel stupid! Only take her if you are willing to put in a LOT of time!
I've taken her for general Chem 1045, 1046 and Organic 2210 and 2211. I also took one lab with her. For general chem she's kinda hard but still passable. I loved her for Organic and lab! The trick is to study the WebCT homework for test and any practice quizes on WebCT. 95% of her tests from from those assignments. Good teacher, she curves too.
You will do well if you study!
She is a sweet heart. She is a very approachable instructor, who is very understanding of her student's situation. If you attend classes, do on-line practice quizzes, and thoroughly go over the powerpoint slides, you will succeed.
The best Organic Chem teacher in perhaps S. Florida. She really tries her hardest to help students, is very approachable, and is a very nice person. She gives online quizzes & the tests are part multiple choice & short answer. She grades pretty leniently on the short answer. Almost impossible to fail her class unless you really are not trying.
so far, she's not that great of a teacher. very confusing, very monotone, doesn't have any enthusiasm when teaching, can be very rude. However, if you study on your own you can do well. She uses mastering chem, which has nothing to do with her tests, and also has blackboard homework. The blackboard homework is identical to her exams.
I am taking her currently online right now and I have to say, there's one more month left in the semester... and i have an A in her class. It's not easy, and I'm definately not a brilliant student but she is very helpful... I've only known her through e-mails but you can tell she's in very caring. A++
She's not that bad of a teacher. She's tough, but she just expects her student to try their best. She does not tolerate side talk. If you come to class, do her practice problems, and you can do well. It takes some time studying though. She really is helpful and wants her students to do well. She knows her chemistry!
Dr. Memari is the one to take if you are serious at all about chemistry. If you're looking for an easy A, she's not the one to take. She's always willing to help, both in class and out of class. Come to class ready to learn, and you will do just that.
She's a pretty good teacher. One thing I can say for sure is that she is ALWAYS willing to help her students. She usually gives out packets containing problems that will be similar to those on the tests. Offers extra credit, quizzes, and homework assignments to help bring up your grade. I recommend her, but don't expect an easy A.
Overall, I'd have to say that she was not that bad of a teacher. The class is hard, but she is very helpful. Do practice problems from the packets she gives, and do her online homework, that'll prepare you for her tests.
Very Nice lady, gives out packets that help you study for the test. Uses mastering Chemistry which is online homeowrk that adds to your grade in the end. Its annoying to do but saves you at the end. Uses blackboard for quizzes. Not an easy class but deff. a helpful teacher.
This lady gives the hardest test ever for the labs! She is always lost on the procedure and she will get mad at you if you don't know all the procedure! I will definitely not take her again! Her lab is insane! You have no idea what she is taking about on the quizzes, she makes some question about calculations you dont even have in the book!
She was unclear about assignments, never posted grades, and couldn't even walk you through a problem. I would not recommend her. She also picks favorites.
HORRIBLE TEACHER!!!! RUN THE OTHER WAY!!!!!
I took it online with minimum effort I got a "B". Take her great class with no stress
I took her for lab and she is totally worth it. She is rude, maybe because of wherever she comes from, but she helps out a lot and really prepares you for her final. I got an A which I am surprised but she actually a good Organic Lab professor.
Professor was awesome. Great class. Very smart lady knew what she was talkin about. Took her this summer. keY read the chapters and got over the quizes she'll give you a good grade that u deserve as long as you put the effort. Real Gem
I got an easy A. I studied the text, the online homework helped a lot, and the quizzes on BB were very helpful. I took her in six weeks and got an A. So if you really want it an A is possible. Buy the workbook it cements the problems in your head for the test.
Good teacher, easy easy...her mid term and final are all the questions from the quizzes...honestly you can memorize them and pass...but I do recomend reading some parts of the book.
Took her class online and was fairly easy. She gives weekly quizzes, and have 2 attempts. One extra credit quiz. She gives extra credit questions on exams. Only issue with the class is the midterm is from chapter 1-7 and the final is chapter 8-13. Thought it was too much info for one test. One point away from an A and she didn't give it to me.
Took her online class during the summer and got an A. I had to study VERY hard and using the workbook really helped with the problems. If you are willing to study and you are dedicated, take the class :) I found the midterm to be easy (most of it from the quizes and know your problems) the final was a bit harder.
Easy class, easy A
Super easy class. Never studied and got a B.
Took her online class. Fairy easy to pass but you have to be willing to take the time to read and learn material. Lots of extra credit, tests are from homework. Grade from homework, midterm, final, discussions and group ppt presentation.
TAke her online class is the best. I didnt put much effort and got a B :)
I took her online. You have to keep up with the work on a daily basis but with dedication you will do well. The midterm is a lot of what the quiz's cover, the final is more difficult some things are from the quiz's. Overall a good professor. I recommend her!
Took her online. My ONLY objection to the class was that the midterm was 7 chapters and the final was 6; thought that was too much, would have preferred more tests to space it out. Other than that, grade is a PPT presentation, 10 chapter quizzes, discussion postings. Several chances for extra credit. I wound up with an A so I would recommend her.
I took Dr. Memari's class online during the summer. The midterm and final cover a lot of material-don't get behind in reading and assignments. New chapters and concepts build on the last. The prof is responsive and helpful. Go see her if you need help; she's kind and relaxed and great at clarifying concepts. Good instructor- take her for Chem.
Great teacher! Took her online class this past summer and got an A, there is really no reason not to if you study and read what they tell you to...you have two chances for each quiz and a lot of extra credit. The midterm was relatively easy (mostly from the quizzes) but the final was ALOT harder, it had more info (study the book and presentations!)
Prof. Memari is an excellent professor. Although the class I took was online she was very helpful and always available. She provided many helpful resources and everything was explained to a Tee. She does give alot of reading material both on line and book but she is reasonable. If you study your chapter quizes you will definitely pass. Good Luck.
very good professor! Fair
I took her class online. I've hated Chemistry ever since high school! Her class was very fair, a lot of extra credit, 2 chances per quiz. Midterm and final straight from the quizzes! I didn't even put full effort and I got a B.
I would definitely take Professor Memari's class. I took her online class for Winter 2012. With Chemistry the key to success is "Do not fall behind on the coursework" & utilize your LRC for chemistry. The central LRC tutors are the best. Your going to have to study however, Professor Memari gives lots of extra credit and is the best Chm professor.
She was an okay teacher. I took her online and if you emailed her it took forever to get a response, if you posted in the main class discussion where she says she will answer you, she doesn't. Maybe it because it was a summer class or it some of the stuff we should of known but either way its chemistry, I suggest you take it in person
Agreed, i took her class online and it was a mess. She was hard to keep in touch with, and she was disorganized, and for chemistry already being so complicated it made it worse. Her quizes are pretty simple , but the midterm and final are hard. I dont know how i ended up with a B
I took the on-line course. A lot of reading and studying required. Agenda was straight forward and clear to understand. Quizzes are online, midterm/final at testing center. Everything on the midterm/final are what you study for throughout the course. Just need to study. Never had a problem with instructor. Just study and you will pass.
Syllabus says prof responds to online postings in 48 hours, try a week or so. VERY difficult proctored midterm & final (60% of your grade!!!). Very little extra credit available!! Powerpoints have numerous uncorrected errors. Quiz questions NOT necessarily taken from the material being studied (very advanced). DO NOT TAKE HER ONLINE COURSES!!!
I took her online. The quiz is easy, but the midterm and final is tough. Some of the questions on the final was not even on the book. She's also hard to get in touch to. I regret taking this class online. I bet I would be more easier if taken via classroom.
Easy quiz. Extra credit 20 points. 300 points quiz, 300 points midterm, 300 points final the rest group project and discussion. Midterm final not so easy. I got an A
This class is mainly self taught. You have to read the book and do all the study guide questions. The tests online give 2 chances. Then the midterm is all the tests up to chap. 8 plus a few extra questions. The final is a lot harder 9-14 and not a lot of review. One powerpoint group presentation, 20 points EC. Should get an A if you study!
I took her online class and she was hard to get in contact with and she did not stay true to her syllabus that said she would get back to you in 48 hrs. Her midterm was based off of the quizzes we had for that half of the class and the final was crazy hard!!! Make sure you study for it! I ended up with a B but I was really trying for an A.
She's an absolute disaster. I don't recommend this class to anyone. Especially not online. She's almost impossible to contact. Never answers emails. Doesn't t answer them. I've always done really well in Chem and now I hate it. Her syllabus is from years ago so its inaccurate. Do Not Take This Class.
Took this class partially online. She never grades anything until the end of the semester. Her tests are based on a multitude of sources: the book, youtube videos, and pdf notes. You really need to just teach yourself essentially.
Took her Chem Lab. She never knew what she was doing, but overall it's a pretty easy A. Midterm was out in left field so make sure to study, and she cancelled the final (sucks if you needed it to get an A). I learned nothing but got an A.
If you have other options, do not pick this professor. One of the worst I've had thus far. If she does responds to your e-mails (rare), it will be about 1-2 weeks later. She never wanted to teach while we were in class, and was always confusing. Thought I was going to fail the class, but by some miracle did not.
I took the course online. She really does not respond to email but you can take quizzes twice. There's a midterm and final study and you will pass. The group project is easy. I received an A in the course. Also, You do need the chemistry book.
I can't even call her a teacher because she didn't teach. She was always late (10-15 mins. Then she spent the next 15 minutes saying how there isn't enough time to teach the lesson and we needed to teach ourselves. DO NOT TAKE HER CLASS.She was never prepared to teach, she wasn't even sure when the tests were. She is a terrible teacher.
Do whatever you can to avoid this teacher. I've taken 20+ online courses and this is by far the worst. She rarely responds to e-mails, expectations are unclear, and there are no real study guides for the exams. Just study everything you've ever done. It's finals week and half of the gradebook is still empty. Need I say more?
Prof. Memari is an excellent professor. She provided many helpful resources and everything was explained to a Tee. She does give a lot of reading material but she is reasonable. If you study you will definitely pass. She may not respond to your email right away but when she does, she takes care of the problem or questions you had. Good Luck
Professor Memari is the best chemistry teacher ever. I truly enjoyed her Organic lab class during the Winter semester; She teaches everything so clear and her love and knowledge for the subject makes the students understand it even more.Sad that she does not teach Organic lecture! Her lab introductions helped me to understand the Organic lecture.
Professor Memari is an amazing and caring professor. She goes a little fast but she is very helpful and will make you get the topic. You need to attend each class and just study every day. She even told us that she stepped down from Associate dean to Faculty to have more time to help her students.
One of the best Chemistry Teachers. I got response to all of my emails in less than 24 hours. Very helpful and always there. She actually listen to you. The exams are based on assignments and Quizzes and never a surprise. All she ask you to be responsible for your course and study.
She is really good. she give us extra credit for chemistry week. I like her; she is very clear. Only negative is she is late to class a little. :)
Professor Memari Behnoush is a very cool professor .. I was surprised I passed the class with a B+ I could of gotten an A it's because I missed one lab and I didn't make it up. She's very helpful, don't be afraid to ask. She's down to earth. There's time she has a slight of jokes but aren't funny but she's such a amazing professor . Go for it!
Professor Memari is amazing. She truly knows her subject and explains it very well! Regardless of what grade you get, you will learn chemistry in her class. I was taking Organic lab with her; besides learning lab material I learned so much of my organic lecture material during the lab. She is very helpful and explains very clear.
I took her class online and I do not recommend it to anyone. she takes over a week to respond to your emails, if she ever does at all. Her syllabus is outdated. It is very unclear what is going to be on the midterm and final, as she gives no reviews, and many of the quizzes and tests she gives are filled with material not covered in the chapters.
She was definitely an interesting lady. Let's just say I could have sworn and did the math myself I got a D yet I got a B in her class. She grades pretty fairly on the discussions, and the quizzes are fairly easy but the midterm and final will kill you if you do NOT study.
She really doesn't explain the lab at the beginning of class but if you ask she will explain. There is a midterm and final with her class so if you just want labs grades than don't take her. fairly easy class though.
Great professor! I have to admit chemistry is a hard subject & I never really understood it, but I have learned soo much from her class. Even if you don't pass her class, you will learn. She makes sure the class as a whole understands the lesson before she moves onto something new. 4 tests, online quizzes, no hw. TAKE HER! You will thank me later.
knowledgable & kind prof. But she has a hard time relating to her students that are less experienced in chemistry and carries hi expectations for understanding. The lab manual is so bad I think it gave me cancer and I learned everything for lab on Youtube or google. Lab grades come frm reports, prelab Q's, and final. The final is "everything"
Mid term and Final will kill you. Bottom line.
She knows her material, but doesn't teach what's on her online homework/quizzes. She copies the questions from somewhere else. She isn't clear on certain subjects, but she'll explain things if you ask for help. She gives worksheets for homework and collects them for a grade. Her tests aren't too difficult if you study hard.
Professor Memari is the best chemistry teacher ever! At first i was a little scare to take chemistry lab with her but after taking CHM lab with this amazing teacher I actually like chemistry. She teaches everything so clear and her love for the subject makes the students understand it even more. She makes sure you know why and how!!!!
Professor Memari Is THE BEST chemistry professor on Campus. She cares about students and she is very fair. Explains very clear and in detail, helps you understand the purpose of the experiment so as she say's you feel you are in lab not kitchen!! she grades fairly, AMAZING professor. I would recommend to to all.
ABSOLUTELY THE BEST!!! I agree with the last student who left comment 100%
I was told not to take class with Dr. Memari because she asks you to work :) REALLY!! She has been the most fair and caring teacher I have had at Broward College. She teaches well and grades very fairly. Organic II lab I had to write lab report only for first 3 experiments; rest were easy questions to help me understand experiments! AMAZING !!!!
I took Dr. Memari's class this last semester only for CHM1046L. I have to say she is by far one of the best professors I've had, and I already have a bachelor's degree. She made me love chemistry! Overall amazing professor!!!
She is my favorite teacher... she is very passionate about chemistry and she helps you to understand it as well, she is just overall a lovely teacher. NO FINALS for CHM1046L, just a midterm after a clear review.
please just avoid this professor at all costs. you've been warned.
Awful. Busy work. Busy work. Busy work. That's it. No learning.
i wouldn't recommend this teacher at all, she's not good at teaching , she goes WAY too fast and doesn't give out reviews for test. Barely helps.... You're on your own
Professor Memari is a great teacher. She explains all of the lab experiments and the homework is very easy. Pay attention in class and you will pass with an easy A.
Literally the easiest lab I've taken. She did a few of the labs for us and all we had to do was copy the info down and turn the paper in. Everything we did was in groups and super easy. Definitely recommend!
Lab Reports every week, writing out the whole procedure, exams. Isn't this a 1 credit class???
Lab Reports every week, writing out the whole procedure, exams this is what you do in every lab class otherwise you picked the wrong class. I liked the way she teaches the lectures are clear and easy to understand.
If you are the kind of person that likes to write a lot take her if not this class is not for you. She is great, but her lab reports are super long.
Memari is one of the best. She may seem abrasive at first, but she really wants you to succeed. Great explanations and enough examples to make the concepts stick. Uses mastering chemistry to reinforce the material but good note taking is key. Long tests, but overall pretty easy if you've studied. Do the calculations at the back FIRST! Trust me.
Take Organic Chemistry class with this teacher if you want to learn and understand chemistry. She provides many practice problems, group assignments, and interactive lectures to help you to understand organic reactions. Best chemistry professor!!!
Took CHM2211 in the accelerated course, it was tough but it was do able. Dr. Memari is straight to the point in lecture and knows how to explain the subject. Homework problems are a must, not only do they reinforce the chapter but there is a summary before each set of problems . Pick this professor you wont regret it, cannot say enough about her.
I took her for organic lab, and she made the class really enjoyable. However, you do need to know your stuff, so come to class prepared. Only 1 test (midterm or final), a lab report due every week, pre-lab questions, and lab notebook due at the end. Looking forward for organic lab 2.
Best Professor EVER!!!!
At first I was intimidated, but she is truly amazing. Really wish I had her for lecture. I'm going to miss her.
She is an amazing Chemistry professor. You need to do your pre lab assignments and lab report but she is very understanding and helps you to learn. So far the best learning experience I had in Chemistry lab was with Dr. Memari class.
This prof is amazing i liked her so much, she axplains very well, and she can repeat it again and again if you don't understand, she really loves to help her students, it was easy class, you just have to attand and pay attention, there were 4 exams, the lowest grade will be dropped, no book or code required, powerpoint has everything you need.
Dr. Memari is an extraordinary professor. She's extremely knowledgeable, and has passion for chemistry. I'm going to miss her, she makes the class fun, and tests are based on homework and lecture only.
Dr. Memari was such an inspiration this semester. She focused her lectures on what you may find on exam. Best of all she knows how to teach! Chemistry with her is fun and exciting. I encourage you to take her because you will not regret it. And you will thank me!!!
THE BEST Chemistry Teacher EVER!!!, makes Organic Chemistry fun and teaches you. I have previously taken Organic Chemistry with a different professor and have the experience of it. Dr. Memari can clearly explain the material, and is able to help everyone understand the toughest subjects, she listens to your questions and makes sure to answer them a
She is the best
I took Gad her for organic 1 lab and I HATED her lab reports! The good thing is that even if you did the experiment wrong you had an opportunity to write down what you did wrong. You either get a midterm or final (class chooses). Only grades are lab report, midterm, pre labs and composition notebook. A lot of work but youll learn. Make time!
The Best Chemistry Teacher Ever!!! I wish I had Dr. Memari for all of my Chemistry classes. Too bad she teaches Organic II lecture only during the summer otherwise I tell you all; to take her for both lecture and lab. But do not Dr. Memari's lab., you will learn and enjoy the course. You will thank me later.
She is very knowledgeable and inspirational professor. Take her and Thank Me Later!!!
Professor Memari is amazing in CHEM1032L. She's makes the labs fun and will always help you when your in need of her. She is funny and never coms in with a bad attitude. She is easy to understand and teaches the class well. The experiments are fun and the work is easy. She is a very easy grader. Everyone taking CHEM1032L should take her.
Prof Memari is amazing. She is very nice. She goes over the instructions before starting the experiment. This class requires hard work and it is also very time consuming. But you will learn a lot, thanks to this amazing professor.
Shes amazing. Easy A
she explains labs really well. at first she may come off as strict but shes really sweet and helpful. also has a very good sense of humor :)
Solid lab professor. She is very specific about how she wants work done.
Get ready to do a lot of work both on lab reports and notebooks. She knows her stuff and teaches it very well tho. The class itself is kinda heavy. Make sure you make notes of what she says, they will help you on the mid-term.
This professor was really nice but she was late a lot which caused students to stay extra for like 10 to 15 mins to finish the post labs. She gives a pre lab and post lab due every week which was really easy. She explained the post lab procedures and you can ask her questions if you're confused. Also there's a midterm
Sometimes shes nice. She comes off very harsh and seems like shes yelling instructions at you. Super intimidating when you dont understand, she looks at you like youre dumb lol Her lab reports and pre-labs are WAY too detailed for a 1 credit lab.
Run seriously! Your grade is made up of 3 test only! She missed the first week of class and then sped up the rest of the class! She is the worst!! Sweet lady but not a great prof!
She is AMAZING !!! I took her CHM2211L and recommend her to anybody who wants to enjoy learning chemistry. very knowledgeable and caring professor.
Best Of The Best Organic Chemistry Professor!!! Professor Memari is the able to clearly explain the material, help you understand, and provides opportunity for extracurricular activities which helps you to see the real-life application of chemistry. She is very knowledgeable and caring person. Always available to help you in class and during her o
Professor Memari is a great professor. Organic chemistry is difficult but she is the best professor for chemistry I have taken at Broward College. Show up, do the lab reports, and you will get a good grade.
I had Dr. Memari for CHM1045L and CHM1046L she is a very a good professor! It's lab so she doesn't do lectures and you just do the experiments. She helps you if you need it and is very kind. She does have midterm, but it's not that difficult if you study. Easy and straightforward work in this class
She is a great professor , she will help you if you need it and is very kind. Theres pre and post labs worksheets and a final exam. She does arrive a bit late sometimes but other than that its not a difficult class as long as you show up and do what youre suppose to do.
Had her for orgo 2 lab and she was very thorough with her work. Very nice professor. Requires lab reports for each lab but doesn't grade harshly. Would recommend her for lab.
Amazing lab teacher. Easiest lab ever. DO your prelab and notebook (most of your points) follow the rubric. She has a rubric for the reports as well, follow it your guaranteed a good grade. Quizzes are easy since they are mostly the prelab questions and additional questions she asks in class. Final is the same as the quizzes.
This is the second time i have her as a lab teacher and honestly i wouldn't pick anyone else to teach me organic chemistry lab. Follow the rubric for the notebook and lab report. Quizzes and test are the prelab questions and additional questions she asks in class. Show up, listen, and pay attention and you'll pass its that easy.
Covid time. She is nice. During lab at times she went so fast it was hard to keep up. Lab was really long or really fast. She is SLOW to grade, grading system doesn't make sense. Graded 5+ reports after the final. Follow the outline for how she wants things should get a A/B.
If your ok with teaching yourself chm then take the fully online class. Theres no PowerPoint, no textbook just knewton to answer questions for each unit and thats what you study (a joke right) quizzes and exam are based on the knewton questions
Loved the class. Take her and give yourself peace of mind.
I took CHM1032 fast-track and online. Dr. Memari was very fair. All quizzes were open notes/resources, 5 exams, only 2 were proctored. 2 discussions and 2 assignments. She drops the lowest exam and quiz grade. All exam and quiz questions come from the homework, do your homework and take notes on it and you will pass!
Professor Memari is a decent professor and her class is not hard to pass. Show up for lectures because she does takes attendance! Her lab lectures were kind of difficult to understand but I had a lab partner to help me along the way. In the end you will have a practical but no worries its only worth 13% of your grade.
Professor Memari is an overall good professor. Due to covid her lectures are very short. She posts videos of the lab which makes it easier to do it remotely. She grades very slow and is not really the best communicator but do everything she says and you will pass. No midterm, just a final and lots of labs.
Lab is literally 1 credit and she made us write 10 lab reports of like 13 pages each. Now I know that sounds intimidating, but as long as you stay within the prompt and understand the experiment she will give you a good grade. Create a schedule and try to watch the videos as soon as lecture is over also take notes from the video it will help later.
She was a pretty good professor she gives knewton assignments with some discussions her class is easy as long as you do your work on time it.
She is a very good professor for organic chem lab. There are a few things she does that can be a bit annoying (skips steps in lab videos, takes a while to grade), but overall the course isn't too bad. The biggest thing to know is there is A LOT of work to do each week for this class, you have a lab report, lab notebook, and prelab quiz every week.
She is the most understanding professor, I was able to communicate with her about any problems I had. I also, think the pre-lab questions, data sheets, and post-lab questions all accurately reflected the lab experiments. They served as a good tool to really help me understand the experiments in depth.
She is the Best Chemistry Professor, caring, nice and knowledgeable!!The course was very conductive to my learning experience. I liked how professor would explain each lab before we did them at the beginning of every class. Professor allowed us to ask questions about the previous lab because it really helped hammer in the comprehension.
She is a good professor. No quizzes just one final but A LOT of homework considering its just a one credit course. There was a lab report, a notebook and a pre lab quiz (which she gave the questions to in advance) PER WEEK. You need to have the time to complete all of this. The labs are 1 hour videos she makes us watch to do the reports
I would say Professor Memari is okay. First, she can inconvenience students at certain times because she always does not start the weekly Zoom meetings on time, so we are often left trying to figure out why she isnt present. The material is easy but the lectures useless, we are left to do all the learning on our own. Also prepare for pop quizzes.
Dr. Memari is a great teacher, a lot of work but she's very understanding and lenient. You can tell she knows her stuff.
Organic is a very hard subject. I took this class in a fast track summer. It was nuts. You would think because it is a fast track you will get less homework, but it wasn't the case, 4 tests 66% and the 34% is homework and open book quizzes. Memari is Amazing, super nice, I could have gotten an A but I failed the final test. You can get an A!
The lab is a report that needs introduction, abstract, material, procedure, data table, calculations, discussion and some photos of her videos, and also Conclusion and bibliography. YES!, it is a lot but easy, again, A LOT OF worK, I could no stress myself enough on this and that lab reports is about 50%, 25% open book quizzes, 25% final test.
Professor Memari is the BEST Chemistry professor at Broward College. She would always make sure everyone understood the concepts before moving on. Just do your homework in time, and pay attention to her pre lab discussions and participate in pre lab discussions.
Dr. Memari is the most understanding professor, I was able to communicate with her about any problems I had. She is caring, nice, knowledgeable, and returns email very fast. Pre-lab questions and lab reports all reflected the experiments, all you need to do is pay attention during pre-lab discussion. TAKE her lab and THANK me later!!
Dr. Memari gives lots of credit opportunity, easy assignment grader. 5 tests, 3 are proctored, one quiz per unit open note. Read the units and take notes on the homework study the quiz questions they will be on the test! 2 assignments, 2 discussions. Very accessible, DO NOT TAKE ONLINE if you struggle with math and or science!
Professor Memari is very organized, she answers every single questions you might have and she actually replies to your emails in no time! Very fast and efficient! She explains organic chemistry well and makes sure you understand the concept before moving to next topic. TAKE your Organic lecture with Dr. Memari and THANK me later!
Dr. Memari Is the Best Chemistry professor!! She cares for students' learning and makes sure you understand one topic before she moves to the next one. Her grading is very clear and she gives a lot of different assignments and quizzes to earn points and prepare for exams. Take her for any Organic Chemistry lecture or lab and thank me later!!!
This is the heaviest course load for a class that I have ever taken. Over 100 homework assignments, 6 exams(low grade dropped), 2 discussions/assignments, & 10 quizzes. ONE CLASS A WEEK and everything is self taught. She is great with providing resources. But get ready to teach yourself or go to every office hour. and Im not lying about the 100 HW
While Professor Memari is nice she gives little to no effort. Even though our class met in person the only way she teaches is through watching her content online as if it were being taught during covid and the videos are 40-60 min long with bad quality. She provides little education and takes forever to grade any assignments. I do not reccomend.
She's a nice professor, you'll have lots of assignments and prequiz before every class. You'll have to watch a hour videos of the lecture before class and half of experiments done in class the others by watching videos. She doesn't response to emails often, preferably ask all questions in class because she rarely responds to emails same day.
Dr.Memari used online software for test and quizzes. They were hard, a lot of the questions were not clearly talked about in her lecture or videos. Study the quizes after you do bad or good so you can prepare for the exam. Read the textbook on things you dont know or are not clear. You'll need it.
She is one of the best chemistry professors. Do your chapter assignments and review quizzes before you take each exam and you will do good on the exam. She listens to students and answers every questions before moving to next topic. She explains well and makes sure you understand the topic. Attend the class, ask questions and submit assignments.
If you're wondering if this class is worthwhile, I can assure you that it is Be aware that there are two exams a midterm and a final, which are a mesh of questions from all the pre-lab quizzes! Study the pre-lab quizzes. If you are not doing well in the pre-lab quizzes and don't know why, READ THE LAB MANUAL The lab manual gives you all the ANSWERS
Dr. Memari is the most amazing chemistry professor, Take her class and thank me later. She is very knowledgeable and caring. CHM1032L class was, the only class that I could not wait to attend. I learned a lot and enjoyed learning chemistry.
Dr memari is very dedicated, her classes are amazing and she goes above or beyond to teach. She is very flexible and accommodating with the hours. I would definitely recommend her and take any class she teaches
she is very good professor to explain clearly in lectures, and she takes care about the knowledge of students.
Dr. Memari is an amazing professor, she is super nice, caring, and knowledgeable. I would definitely recommend her class to any student who want to enjoy learning chemistry. Take her class and thank me later.
Dr. Memari is one of the best professors that I have had, she is exceptional and amazing. She makes sure everyone is engaged in the learning process and no one is left out. When she gives a class problem, she says raise your had if you have the answer, or if you don't know where to start. I felt very comfortable to raise my hand each time.
Only passed the class due to YouTube videos of ANOTHER professor as she felt very rushed every time she taught. Furthermore, she kept saying the final was not mandatory and then a week before grades close she decides it is. I would not take her again as I did not learn anything directly from her, but I did appreciate the assignments and extra cred.
Professor Memari is very caring and willing to answer all questions you have. She tries very hard to prepare students for exams and is very helpful. There is a lot of homework online, and chapter quizzes as well, but it isn't too hard if you pace yourself well. I definitely recommend taking this professor
As long as you come the your lab prepared and know the science behind what you are doing, you will not have any problems!
She was wonderful. She is very understanding and caring for her students and understands what they have going on. She does have a midterm and final, but it is very easy.
She is a compassionate professor, and I took her for CHM1045L. The only challenge was that she required a quiz and notes to be submitted every week before lab day.
Amazing professor, fun classes, she also gives extra credit. Definitely would take again with her.
great teacher defined take any class she offers! and super helpful!
shes very nice and teaches well
I took the class Blended and was really good. You'll do well if you watch the videos posted in D2L BEFORE the class, they show the exact procedure and reactions to expect in F2F lab, that helps you confirm the information, makes the experiment in the lab easier to do, you can have the data plugged in from the video and confirm numbers in F2F.
She is amazing professor everything was clear. her assignment is easy, she make you enjoy the course. If you take with her, you are going to like chemistry.
Such a breeze! I did not do well on any of the tests and still ended the class with an A. Easy interactive lab assignments that are due every Sunday. As long as you complete the work, you should be fine.
She is an incredible instructor, passionate about chemistry, clear in her explanations, and always making sure her students truly understand the material. She's patient and offers multiple opportunities. Her thoughtful approach and genuine care for her students make her a truly outstanding teacher.
I have never rated anyone, but this class is something else with all the work needed every week, if you are taking other classes, including her lab which I am, or taking an exam for grad school honestly good luck to you, all her assignments and exams are through ALEKS and tough, not to mentions hundreds of assignments out of aleks. NEVER AGAIN
She never answered her emails. Students had to call her to remind her to check her emails. Her whole class was done through the program ALEKS which is extremely tough. I wish I would have gone with another Professor.
Dr. Memari is by far the best chemistry professor there is. I had her for Orgo 2 and she is amazing! her lectures were super instructional, she gives great feedback and wants you to succeed, if you can commit about an hour a day to reviewing and studying, you'll learn great! she records lectures and uploads them and she is lenient with grading.
I don't fancy chemistry at all & the class involved a ton of homework...seriously, a lot. I can't say anything bad about the professor. The grading scale was clear & I had no need to reach out through email. I just completed all assignments on time, & while I'm relieved the course is over, I'll advise just stay on top of the work & you'll pass.
I had a different professor for the lecture that didn't teach so this class was much harder than average but there is still a lot of work to do for the class. Professor Memari herself is nice and helps you if you ask.
The class was hard but Professor Memari was very caring and always willing to help in class with whatever questions you had. The knewton homeworks were hard, but did well to prep for the exam. The exams weren't bad and mostly multiple choice. The final also replaces your worst test grade, which saved me as well
ALEKS Hw is way too much overload. Unless you're perfect at organic chemistry you'll be doing a minimum 300 organic chemistry problems total MINIMUM. The professor is nice but her grading criteria is extremely unclear. Visually double check the grades with her. She doesn't respond to emails unless someone class her office phone. Good luck with her.
This online class was hard, rather take prof shankya from the other campus I switched into. Ended up doing well with him.
Lots of HW on alex and the exams were hard since it was online. She does not respond back to emails. I would try to take this class in person and not online.
Dr. Memari is a sweet, kind and understanding professor who truly wants her students to succeed. She explains mechanisms clearly and love to give examples. You never have to feel bad to ask any questions. It is a lot of work, but I would absolutely recommend her to anyone who wants to learn and grow.
I took this professor and I really liked it, it is just a very hard class that requires a lot of studying, lots of homework and like 5 exams plus a final which to me is a lot for 3 months.
