Dr. Armstrong is a great professor. The part where people are mislead when reading these reviews is that the tests are not your opinion! All of the test material comes directly from the texts and the discussion of the texts in class. Take good notes (write everything down) and read the material, and you will be fine.

Don't take this class unless you have some kind of masochistic desire to work way harder than you should need to receive 3 credits from a community college. I tried to stick with the class out of pride but I couldn't. He is punitive, uncaring and not suited for this career. It's an intro level class. Regardless of the rigor, it's not worth it.

For starters, philosophy is not a terrible subject in its self and not hard to understand. But what is hard to understand is 10-12 pages of primary source documents about philosophy written anywhere for 80 years ago to 300 years ago in ridiculously wordy and antiquated English. You will go insane if you try to read more than one in one day.

Make sure you pay attention to deadlines bc they are kind of random, and late work is not accepted.
